The first thing that popped into my head when I walked in the door is this place is real!?The servers are friendly. Diverse seating options. Split into a cat side and a non cat side for those who like to enjoy the atmosphere but dont enjoy cats/ are allergic to cats. They have a wonderful selection of merchandise! They have buttons, stickers, tank tops, hats, all kinds of stuff! I love a place with a wide variety of merchandise! Im allergic to cats and Im also a dog person, so I didnt go into the cat side. I also think the cat side is appointment only. The cafe is available for dine-in. The atmosphere is very fun! If you enjoy cats, please come over! Even adopt a cat, if you feel so inclined! I hope we can get to a world where we also have a bird Cafe and a puppy cafe!
My girlfriend and I were looking for a cafe/coffee shop and came across by accident. What a lovely surprise. A lot of sleeping cats but that’s what they do. We spent a half hour, shared 3 bags of treats with friendly cats. Even a shy one up the wall. The decor is cat themed and lovely. Staff was nice. Also enjoyed great drinks and a tasty Oreo cupcake. Time well spent before and after visiting the cats. If we were from the area, I would have adopted Sheila. Very sweet cat. PLEASE support any way you can.
My kids and I really enjoyed our visit here. I like the setup - there are lots of friendly kitties, but there are also plenty of spots for them to escape the attention when they want a break from the humans. The drinks and snacks were tasty, the staff were friendly and our cats at home are enjoying the banana catnip toy we bought for them.
I wasnt sure what to expect, but its a cute little place. The flavored coffee drink I had was really good - not overly sweet and syrupy, which was a pleasant surprise. There were lots of little things to look at and purchase, as well, with sales going to help their rescue partners. The cat room was pretty cool. My 11-year-old daughter loved hanging out and trying to play with the cats. We were both disappointed that we werent allowed to pick up any of the cats, even to put them on our laps; most of the cats were sleeping or wanted nothing to do with us. Typical cats. The Cafe does a great job of providing a ton of enrichment and sleeping/lounging areas for the resident cats. Overall, its a great place.
I didnt know this was actually a real thing!!! Im so excited to have been alerted to this today. Who doesnt love a room full of kitties? They are obviously all adorable. Wonderful for a little pick-me-up. During happy hour, its only $3.50 for 15 mins in the heavenly room. Looks like they also have cat yoga and other events. So cool! 😸
I went to this place for the first time today with my brother. we loved it! the staff is extremely friendly, the coffee is awesome, and the cats are so cute. im definitely going to come back.
You can come here for great coffee and cute cats. Happy “Meower” allows you to visit the cats in 15-min intervals for $3.50 each per adult. Super cheap and quick way to get your cat fix! I love this place.
Not only are the cats adorable, but the cafe serves delicious hand crafted beverages! This is a wonderful business, and they have helped so many cats get adopted. I love what they are doing and its always a treat to come here.
Whats not to love? Amazing coffee and kitties! Its such a cool concept to have adoptable cats to cozy up to while sipping on delicious coffee!
What a cool concept for a cafe. Drink coffee, pet cats. And the drinks were good too!
This place is seriously so cool. You have to pay to sit with the cats but it’s definitely worth it in my opinion. The employees were great at explaining everything and I’m so glad they set rules in place for the safety of the cats! Super delicious coffee and treats in addition to being a great place to spend Caturday! 😻
This place is awesome and anyone in Minneapolis should come check it out!
Good local coffee in a non generic chain setting? Check. Support of other local businesses? Check. Lots of bad puns? The chance to pay for time visiting numerous furry beasts? The chance to support a place that gives our community character instead of more generic modernity? Check, check and check. Support a more human environment and get your coffee here. The only downside is that depending one how many people have been visiting and perhaps how many have been energetic children, paying for cat time can give you a roomful of energetic beasties or a roomful of sleeping beauties... (please note you can still get coffee and locally sourced baked goods with a comfy place to consume them even without buying cat time!)
This is a really neat place. I love that the cats get lots of love and attention from those who spend time with then. The cat room was very clean and the cats all seemed very happy and well taken care of. There were 2 cats that were picked up by their forever family while we were there. That made the experience even better. The drinks and snacks that you can purchase on the cafe side are very good!
Super friendly staff, delicious coffee and scones, and very cute merchandise for sale on the cafe side even if you dont have time to visit the kitties. For cat appointments, they offer student discounts if you pay in-person.But perhaps most importantly of all, the cats are ALL so SWEET and CUTE!!! They all seem well cared for, well fed, and very happy. They have plenty of perches, toys to play with, and cubbies tucked away for when they need alone time. Precautions are taken so that the cats do not escape, and hand sanitizer is provided at many points on both sides of the doors. We were able to socially distance from others safely, the environment was visibly clean, and the cats were delightful. My boyfriend, who was not a cat person until he met me and my kitty, LOVED it here. He and I have a cat together already, but he told me he would like to keep coming here regularly, and potentially adopt a second furry friend soon! Thank you for being open and accessible during Covid -- spending an hour surrounded by purring, playful cats was exactly what we needed. :)
Very cute shop with good beverages. Prices were good and the cats were adorable! Went with my girlfriend and she had a great time. We bought a very cute cat collar and would definitely go again.
This is such a wonderful place. We found it by accident while in Minneapolis. Hanging out with the cats was totally worth the price. This was one of the highlights of my trip.
Great place for cat lovers! youre in a room with a bunch of cats for about an hour, whats not to love? the treats and drinks are also pretty good. both times ive gone i got a cat on my lap :)
A lovely experience - the cats are all very sweet. It felt therapeutic petting them all, and my toddlers were able to enjoy it as well.
I came for the cats 🐈 😻 great place to check out if you want to adopt a cat 🐈
Come for the cats, stay for the coffee. I ordered the Cafe Meow coffee and it was one of the better drinks Ive had in recent memory. Very cute place and friendly staff (and cats).
I liked coming here, but there are a few small things Id like to see changed before I come again. I believe that there were way too many people in the little room with the cats when I came with my friend (maybe 6 not including us.) In the hour that we were there, we both could only spend time with a cat each. One of the cats was a little aggressive and would not let anyone even touch her. One of the people working at the cafe came into the room, and overall that would be ok but a lot of the cats started coming to her and wouldnt come to anyone else. I feel there werent enough cats for everyone in the room, especially with the limited space and that a few of the cats were sleeping. Also, you cant pick up the cats which brings down the value of coming here. I think it would be much better if they were allowed to be picked up until the cat became agitated. The coffee that I got was actually really good, so there are no complaints there. I would recommend lowering the limit of people allowed in with the cats at a time and changing the rule about not picking up the cats. Also, one last thing, is that the amount of rainbow flags in this cafe might make some people who are religious or have different views uncomfortable. I understand that showing that everyone is accepted in the cafe might be important but I think less of these might make everyone more comfortable.
Fun place, first time there and I generally like the idea. Cats werent that active but theyre still fun to play with. Because cats are shelter animals, they are available for adoption. That also means that there is always going to be new cats as well. Obviously stay away if you are allergic, but otherwise it is a fun way to pass the time.
I really like the cafe. Great service Nd cozy vibe. They have some adorable cats but if you want to play with them, then late afternoon is not a great time because they get tired and sleep. I guess the cats are used to the attention because they werent interested to play. Some where even sleeping on the top because they didnt want to be bothered.
An adorable and therapeutic experience! Hour long reservations are affordable, the coffee is delish, and the cats bring so much joy to ones day. There are cute little cat knick knacks available for purchase, too, like cat butt magnets for example. If youre on the fence about going, just do it! Youll be glad you did.
Food and drink were delicious. Really enjoyed the Russian Blue french soda, raspberry macaroon, and cranberry scone. The cats were very cute. Keep in mind theyre cats, not play things. Theyll be varying degrees of wanting to engage with you. We went at 2PM on a Saturday and a lot of the kitties were napping. That said many were receptive to gentle pets while sleeping and the ones who were awake were generally friendly and playful.Great atmosphere, food, human and cat staff all in all.
Based on the description, I was expecting this to be a coffee shop with cats everywhere. The reality was that its a room with cats that you pay to enter. And in the lobby there is one tiny table with a very limited cafe menu. Its a big stretch to call this a cafe at all. If you want to play with cats, just go to the Humane Society and do it for free.
So much fun! The cats are all very friendly. Youll want to take them all home!
I went here from 5-6pm and I had a great time. More than half the cats were awake and playing with the toys, the other ones were either sleeping or just chilling in the cat trees. The banana bread was delicious, my tea was okay. Some of the other reviews seem like people dont understand that cats nap during most of the day and theyre normally hesitant around strangers. I thought this place was pretty good, it was definitely a nice break from studying for finals.
If you love cats, then you have to come here. I admittedly didnt sample any food, but I spent an hour with all their cats. The playroom is huge with tons of ledges and tiny hiding spaces for the cats. There were plenty of toys to play with and there were about 8 cats. So if you like being surrounded by kitties, come here! Staff was friendly too, so that was a plus.
Thank you so much to the staff for the great coffee and the fun cat hangout!
Fun place to spend some time if you love cats. This Cafe has 2 rooms. One like a normal Cafe with cute cat themed snacks and products and coffee drinks. To go into the cat room, you must pay $10 and book your time in advance. The cat room has many different cats, cat activities, and seating. You can bring your snacks into the cat room. Everyone was friendly and there cats were fun. Great place to get an hour of cat time when you are allergic and cant have them at home.
The cats here are very friendly and cute and the drinks and food are pretty good and they have A little merchandise section
Yay, cat! I mean, what else is there to say? Get to spend time petting cute cats and they are all up for adoption
So much fun. Had a latte first, then spent time with the kitties. A staff member stayed inside to comfort and/or feed cats, answer questions. Need reservation for cat-time, but not cafe. Can see cats from cafe and outside. Cafe Meow adopts cats and cares for them, including socializing for future placement.
Wonderful concept, very relaxing environment, and exceptional drinks! (Non alcoholic)
Absolutely recommend if you like cats, which how could you not like cats. Next time Ill try their food but they got gifts too. Sweet place. Can tell they care for the cats
I love the concept of a local cat cafe to help cats get adopted and finally got my SO to go with me. I loved just sitting in a room of cats and being able to just relax and chat, with the occasion feline visit.Cats are cats, so they visit and sleep on their own time, but there were a few friendly cats that came up and welcomed us.The drinks were delicious, but a little sweet. Im not sure if they do drink modifications and I felt too rushed while ordering to ask.My only complaint was that the worker made me feel like I was a nuisance. I left feeling slightly disheartened because I felt like I was bothering them for asking questions. The cats are 10/10 and I want them all.
As someone who loves cats but is unable to get one at the moment, getting to say hi to all these cats made my day. They also sell toys and treats to bring home to your own kitties!
Great staff and relaxing environment. Pure zen!
I went with my daughter for the first time. We didnt know where to park (I know I should have checked on that beforehand) and all the parking spots in front of the cafe were occupied so we went to park on the streets and walked a few blocks back to the cafe. Needless to say we were late to our appointment. When we checked in, I asked the girl if we could still spend our 55 minutes with the cats and she said yes, so we went in. Twenty five minutes later a male came into the room and said it was time to leave so he could sanitize the place. I asked him if we could stay longer because we were late (I mean, the girl at the front had already said we could) but he said no, that he had other people coming to their scheduled appointment and we had to leave. I gave them four stars because they mislead me to believe that we could stay the entire time (55 minutes) when it wasnt true.On a lighter note, my daughter and I loved spending time with the cats. They were all very cute and most of them playful!!
Drinks are always great; fun names! The cats are generally friendly, some of them are super shy though, so dont go into it assuming that every cat is going to want to snuggle you. Having been to Cat Cafes in South Korea its wonderful to have one here! I do wish there was a way to go more often without breaking the bank. In Korea they would let you hang out longer if it wasnt busy. 😊
Fun place to visit to get a change of scenery. We took the kids for a private rental of the cat room to celebrate their birthdays. Kids really loved being able to get out of the house and spend some time with a dozen adorable cats and kittens. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. Be warned that a room with 12 cats will have the smell of a room with 12 cats in it.
Fun. A lot of kitties were napping
Wonderful location. Friendly cats. A wonderful experience.
Still cant believe a place like this exists!! Its so awesome! Too bad the cat lounge was booked but I did try the Calico (mocha w/caramel & coconut) drink and may I just say it was DELICIOUS! And I dont like coffee! °-° My coffee-loving friend was surprised to see me finish my coffee before they could. Love the vibe of the place.Update: went again to get me some Calico with another coffee loving friend and made a reservation ahead of time! It was awesome to spend time with the adorable furry ones!! So cute!! Follows covid-19 regulations. I love this place!
Top quality. The cats are well-cared for. All their needs are being met and there are escape routes for them to get away from grabbing children. As for the experience, the cats are super friendly and theres usually at least one that will jump in your lap as soon as you sit down. You want to pet cats? You will get to pet cats. And theyre all wonderful. Every time a friend from out of town comes to visit, I take them here and they have a blast.I distinctly remember bringing my brother when he came to town for a video game convention. He sent pictures of the cats to his friends who were at the hotel, and one of the guys immediately messaged back We are all going there tomorrow. This is non-negotiable. Reportedly, they loved it.
This is a great place to visit if you want to adopt a cat! When you visit a cat shelter, you feel sooooo guilty if you dont walk out with a cat but here adoption is secondary to just playing with the kitties so you can leave without feeling like a horrible person.Something to know: the cats are in one room and the food is in another room so you wont get cat hair in your coffee :)
This is a fun and unique place to go with friends or on a date to sip coffee and hangout with kitties that are up for adoption. In my opinion it would be an even better place to go if you’re in the market for a cat because they all had great personalities and it was so hard leaving them at the end of the hour!
I went here with a friend and we had a great time. There are many cats up for adoption and they are all very sweet. The coffee is also really good here and they have a cute little gift shop, so if you love coffee or cats I recommend going here :)
I cant recommend The Cafe Meow enough! The work they do to get their sweet cats adopted is just amazing. The cats are so happy and well cared-for, and the coffee is awesome! We live four hours away, but we stop every time we are near!
Call simply put do not go here I was here roughly 10 minutes before this review was written quite frankly there is a cat in there white and gray named liecsl that attacked me for putting him on the head and gently putting him on the back I got bit and Claude very badly when I told the manager or the person in charge what had happened he simply said this is your fault you guys need to leave and gave us half of our money back when I asked her to provide a full refund nearly filters into this company today to get mauled by an animal I dont know maybe
THIS WAS AMAZING! My two favorite things !!!!
Oh. My. GOD. All the kitties!!!My fiance and I went here on a date, and it was delightful. You have to reserve an hour in the cat room in advance, and it costs $10 per hour, but it is totally worth it! There is a perfect mix of snuggly and playful, and all the cats seemed incredibly happy. Only downside: All the cats in the room are available for adoption (!!!), so leaving at the end of the hour without taking home one of them is excruciating.I wish they had more food options in the actual cafe, but who cares about not having sandwiches/scone varieties when there are cuddly kitties to play with?
We drove 241 miles from Moorhead MN. He have 4 cats at home but had to come visit these kitties. They have a great place. Due to Covid no dining in but you can visit the cats. Great place!
The Cafe Meow was such a fun experience. Its perfect for any college kid who is missing their furry friends back home. The cafe has two rooms, the first Id your typical coffee shop area (but with 100% more cat themed decor) and the second room is where the cats actually are. You do have to pay to hang out with the cats, which I wasnt aware of going into this experience, and while it is a little pricey, I understand the money goes towards caring for the cats, so I understand. Its $12.50 to see the cats, but if youre a student, make sure to bring an ID because there is a student discount so you can play with the cats for only $8. The cats are obviously well cared for, and overall it was a very energizing and heartwarming experience. They also have really good coffee, my roommate and I were both impressed by the quality of our drinks, and you can sit inside the cafe, which is a bit hard to find right now because of covid. Overall, I have to recommend Cafe Meow!
🐾Oh my gosh, I just have to say...I LOVE this place!!!! Their coffee is delicious especially the matcha latte 💖☕ Their staff are very friendly and were open to my questions and even helped me charge my dieing phone😹, and the best part of all...the cats!!!🐱🐈💕 They all were super sweet and super cute! I even got a couple cuddles and kisses from a friendly black kitty! I would totally recommend this to any cat lover and I hope to go there again soon. ❤️😺😸🐾
Minnesotas first cat cafe! Super cute atmosphere. Designed with the cats in mind! They can escape for private time, but the space is filled with fun things to do for them and visiting humans! Food and drinks available but not allowed in the cat room. If you bring kids, supervise them! Very fun spot.
What should people know??? Kitties. More kitties.vats to Love and Give Skritchez to. Cafe Meow is a feline themed cafe with delicious vebeverages, noms for humans (and probably cats too), gifts, and more. They are focused on providing cats for adoption - but if you wanna hang with the available cats, you have to make a reservation. The cafe is wonderful and I could have chosen any place to go while Im the Twin Cities and I m glad I chose Cage Meow. Most definitely going back!!!
This was our first time at a cat cafe. It was a fun experience even with masks and social distancing. We enjoyed the cat lounge and ordered a beverage to go. They also have a good selection of cat-themed merch.
Cats were very nice. Coffee was good and employees were nice too 😄
My family absolutely loved Cafe Meow today. It was a fun atmosphere to hang out with cats in! We will definately be back!
Very friendly staff (both humans and cats). Beverages Ive tried tasted great. You can watch the cats through windows from outside or the cafe (when theyre allowed to open for dine-in), or purchase an hour directly in the cat lounge. Pet, cuddle, play with them, meet cats you can adopt through a rescue.
The coffee is great, the workers are friendly, and the cat play area is super clean. I love the concept, and how it supports its local community as well as the cats in need of homes. Cant wait to see what events they plan in the future!
Coffee was great and the cats are adorable
Very well run, the cats could not be happier (and cuter.) They also really have a buttoned up routine for covid precautions. I had a great experience!
I love this place and how many cats they are able to help. Staff is friendly and they’ve managed to stay open and help find some cats some homes despite the pandemic. I will definitely be supporting them as much as I can and totally recommend everyone stop in for some cat time!
OMGosh! Cute and yummy treats AND I get to pet kitties!! YES!!
So cute and fun! Food is delish
Went there for the first time and I was impressed really clean nice staff and I didnt go into the cat area but it looked very clean and the cats looked super happy/healthy and they have lots of cat items to buy like stickers to pins to mugs and maskes and since it was my first time with my girlfriend we asked what we should get and she told us all the best stuff and I ended up getting a really good coffee it was called maple paw not to sweet but just perfect enough 10 out of 10 will go again really should stop by if you see it wont regret it i promise you
Wonderful place. I love supporting them.
This place is the cats meow.
