There is ample street parking around this cafe. The staff are really kind and well informed about the menu. I ordered the pesto sandwich with a cup of cauliflower parm soup. There was great seating options on the patio. However, I was disappointed in the wait for food. My spouse ordered the quesadilla on the same ticket and received his food about ten minutes earlier than I received mine, which was fine. But it took 30 minutes for my soup and sandwich to come out because the “soup was too hot to serve.” However, the food was really good. I would recommend visiting this restaurant, but not being on a schedule.

Great neighborhood hangout! A group of us meet here fairly regularly. The pandemic winter was rough but they set up a tent with heaters so customers could continue to meet during this ridiculous pandemic. Made to order sandwiches, homemade soups. Tempting daily specials — I had a spicy latte and it was just that! Service can be a bit slow when it’s busy — but just sit down and relax and enjoy the day—OK?!

I feel hurt about my experience here this morning. Was initially approached and cornered that I need to make a purchase. I clarified I wasn’t aware it was an immediate requirement and needed some time to make a decision. I communicated I was anxious from being cornered. Employee (Alex?) was adamant I needed to leave immediately and attacked me. I was accosted and physically attacked with my computer by the employee. Had to start recording when it escalated to that point. It’s rather unfortunate that this is my first experience in the city. I’m just a visitor passing though. Sadly, I’ve been to hundreds of coffee shops from Texas, through Alabama, Kentucky and far out as Vermont over the past few months and this is the single bad incident I’ve had. Speaking up about this so hopefully no one else gets treated like this in the future. We’re human beings. I asked for the manager and was told they’ll be in later. Till then I guess[Update]It’s further disheartening to read the “owner” response below. It’s tough to see how the employee slamming my laptop on my hands and grabbing my backpack is “polite”. From my perspective, there’s no excuse to lay hands on another person. For added context, I’m 6ft 200 lbs so I’m able to physically defend myself if I have to. But violence is not the answer. It’s all good though. I don’t wish you illAll the best. Peace ✌🏾

This is a really nice cozy place that sometimes has limited space: during certain times in the morning and afternoon there are particular tables for dining only, which I think is great and fair: there is plenty of other bench space around. The coffee here is super tasty, and the breakfast sandwich might just be the most perfect sandwich there is. Get it with bacon- youll be glad you did.

This place was included in the Craftnotes Coffee Passport I received as a gift. We went a while out of our way to visit as a result -- successful advertising by the business, right? -- but were then told flatly by the person behind the counter that Fireroast wasnt honoring the complimentary drink listed in the little passport yet.The coffee passports have been out for a few years, from what I can see. I tried to ask the blasé young woman behind the counter when Fireroast would honor the coupon, and got no real response. Frankly this employee seemed totally indifferent. No doubt she was put in an awkward spot by her employer, but she didnt seem to care much.Under almost any circumstance, I would have ordered more than one item to balance out the free drink in a situation like this. I want to support the local place, you know? The person who gave me this present would like to have brought me to a new joint, too. I dont even care about the money. Its only a few bucks! But anyway, instead of that potential goodwill and business, Fireroast was sort of... needlessly rude.Whatever combination of poor management (which listed the shop in the passport book and then didnt honor that) and indifferent employees I ran into here, it was a jerky experience. Even if there was a way to know when, in the future, they might honor their little passport coupon, I wouldnt go out of my way again to try them.-----Update:You will see a reply from the owner of this business below. It makes claims inconsistent with the information I got from the publishers of the book involved, when I asked them too about this little moment. It also describes what the employee told me inaccurately.I will also point out that the owner claims to have reviewed video footage -- when I didnt mention a time or even a date on which I had visited. This is a strange claim. With respect to tempers and tantrums: Physician, heal thyself. Ive worked retail before in my life, and responded to complaints. This person needs a lesson in the latter skill. My abuse in this case took the form of an internet review, the tone of which anyone can judge above for themselves. No employees were spoken to with the tiniest shred of malice or abuse. (I also made a purchase. Like I said above... Its not the money.)Coffee places are about good will. This place went out of its way to sort of spoil that feeling. You know? And now the owner is doubling down. Wrongheaded days work.

We like this business. We want to support this business. This morning we had an unpleasant experience and will wait a while before we return. The staff was unpleasant with the customers and talked about customers who just left behind the counter. At one point one of the staffers shouted sarcastically, “Have a nice day” to a woman who’d waited over 20 minutes for a cappuccino. My wife and I waited 25 minutes for a food and drink order we had placed online. The discount codes we tried to use were not able to be used. This business is owned by a proprietor who prides himself on high quality coffee and food and well trained staff. The staff operates well when the owner is present. If he is not in the shop, I suggest coming back another time.

The atmosphere of the place is what I would describe as business casual. Bar style seating, Booth seating, and table seating. Modern cozy, but not modern in that oversaturation of different colors type of way.its unfortunate that theres a step there that makes it inaccessible to some disabled people, and the space is kind of narrow to navigate for other types of disabled people.

Its a good spot for working along or conversing with friends. Apart from the coffee and espresso, they also have beer and wine - with some great happy hour deals. Every day from 2-5pm you can get $1 off glasses of wine, beer, and appetizers. And thats all day for Sunday. And on Fridays bottles of wine are half-off. I’ve loved Fireroast for years—great food, great coffee, friendly staff—but recently their customer service has been lacking. Frequently I see people there with their laptops, as is common at coffee shops. I called ahead to see if they had outlets so I could come do some schoolwork. I was told using laptops wasn’t allowed on weekends, despite my seeing many, many people with them on the weekends. Since they’ve incorporated alcohol and are wooing a different crowd, they seem to have forgotten their community that has supported them and been regulars for years. Such a shame. They went from a wonderful neighborhood coffee spot to aspiring to be a brew pub. I know I speak for several people besides myself when I say that we’d like the old Fireroast back, please! We went there for the community atmosphere as well as the delicious coffee. Now we seem to be battling the hippie crowd who have turned it into a not-so-welcoming or -lowkey space.
