I am happy I found this place sad I found it so late I’ve been going to school at Aveda suffering during lunch hour when all along this place was always here! My newest love. I’ll be here often asking question and buying what I enjoy. I got the jerky for me and my kid today Cajun and salt and pepper.

The turkey sandwich is delicious!! So many fun things to try and different meats to take home. Wish I lived closer and could try it all!

The concept alone is just very cool. I order a Sriracha brat with spicy Mayo and got a s’more cookie/brookie. So good! Even bought a pack of the brats to take home

Really wanted to like this. The brie was not good, tasted weird if youre looking for something good try Rebel cheese or Miyokos. The ribs also were rubbery, if you want something good try The Very Good Butchers. The fake meat pastrami also not great, try Tofurky slices instead. :(

The Philly Cheesesteak was quite good. Bread was awesome. Queso was fantastic. The protein was spot on. Highly recommend

I had been buying their plant based meats for a while now in CA. It was great to get to go to the brick and motor shop while visiting MN. I ordered the chicken shawarma hot panini and it was perfection. They also have various other vegan dry foods to buy (chips, sauces, ice cream, even a vegan s’mores kit) Street parking was pretty decent.

This is amazing spot for food! It doesnt matter if you are on a plant based diet or not. Their food is prepared incredibly and tastes like the traditional food they represent. The staff here is so nice. They are very patient with any decisions you want to make. They have a large variety of options so, personally, I feel the patient staff is so important to the experience. They also have great apparel and treats. If you are a plant based individual like myself, my only warning is this place is addictive! Try as many things can you can, because it is more than worth it!!! My only complaint is they do not have more locals (OPEN ONE IN CHICAGO!!) - However, even that complaint is addressed with their online store! They ship to all 50 states and Puerto Rico! Couldnt love this place more!

Awesome food. Super legit meat and cheese alternatives. The Korean BBQ ribs are probably my favorite thing that they sell. The curbside pickup service is a great way to keep operating in the current situation, and overall its a great experience from the initial pick up to the last bite. Try the bacon, too!

I go here all the time and everything is amazing! A few favorites are the Italian cold cut sandwich, chorizo, filet mignon and jalapeno cheddar brats. They always have inventive and delicious specials. I love the convenience of curbside pickup, and being able to pick up all my vegan goodies to freeze for later!

Brent was amazing - usually works the food truck. Service was great the hot sandwich was amazing and ohhhh my goodness the cheese - oh the cheese - it was great. I grabbed some meat to take home but guarantee it will be amazing.

A delicious Kung Fury experience; the smells and sounds from the HB kitchen are nostalgically fun. A second time visitor and now an all out fan, I tried their Italian brat and it did not disappoint (should have ordered two because with flavors such as these, you should be greedy). With their sparkling kombucha (coconut cream and pineapple I believe) in one hand and a 1/2 lb of their chorizo and Lucky Chicken hot sauce in the other, I strutted back home with my tasty treasures. Their tasty display holds other gems from ribs, to steaks, to winner winner (not) chicken diners! (Not diners per se, but the kinda goodies friends and fam can enjoy). Cheers!

The Herbivorous Butcher is an awesome vegan restaurant. I ordered their Italian cold cut and it was so flavorful! Easy pick up process. I hope that this business continues to grow - support plant-based restaurants!

Dont ask any questions- or get bullied on their social media accounts...The question I asked was, why do you call a product chicken if its clearly not chicken?The level of hubris is shocking...The response of If you dont like it you can leave is disgusting. America has been fighting for food transparency, but for some reason if itsplant-based it can all go out the window?Street corner counterfeiters are more accommodating selling you copycat LV handbags or Oakley sunglasses.

Lots of vegan options. Just like walking into a meat deli with its glass case and meat options. People were very friendly and helpful especially knowing that I had no idea about vegan meat.

It’s fantastic that we have so many options for plant based foods! The Herbivorous Butcher has a huge selection of plant based meat and cheeze to choose from. I picked up a cold cut hoagie today and it was delicious! Along with some of our favorites - Korean BBQ Ribs, Bacon Brats and Hickory Bacon! You won’t be disappointed with their plant based foods!

Im giving it a 2 star because they havent expanded their businesses in other states yet 😒 looks delicious but bring one to Ohio !

The Herbivorous Butcher seems to be the gold standard for all things vegan protein. A huge selection of products as well as prepared foods.We only tried the chorizo and it was pretty good. Have also had the vegan fried chicken at their outport Herbies.If this is your type of thing, there is probably no better source than The Herbivorous Butcher.Recommended

Had a breakfast sandwich and it was amazing. All the meat is supposed to be seitan and it was really well done. I dont eat any meat and this didnt taste odd at all. Oh the bread on this sandwich was pretty amazing too

HB hands down has THE best vegan hot pressed sandwiches. I was extremely skeptical to try because I wasnt sure of what the texture would be like.If youre transitioning or partipating in #meatlessmondays these sandwiches are a perfect substitute for meat sandwiches.The taste and texture are so on point, I have to remind myself that Im not eating meat.They have mastered this. If I could give it zero stars,I would.I hated this entire concept,but went because my trainer, knowing Im a vegan,thought I would like such a place. NO! The entire concept turned my stomach. A great place for meat eaters that want a pretend vegan experience? Not the friendliest place on the world either. The words dont even go together. The HERBIVOROUS BUTCHER. ..no.just no thank you.

Its all vegan. Thats awesome.The cheesesteak was lights out. Its one of the three best ever, and that includes my kitchen on game day.But the majority of products here taste the same.Ordered the vegan starter pack online. Felt most items were identical and interchangeable.I was excited to learn through Happy Cow app that I was just miles from Herbivorous Butchers HQ while on business trip to Minneapolis.I bought brie, feta, queso, and gouda. Havent yet tried brie, but other three tasted good enough, but they werent anything Id seek out and again buy.Its also kinda expensive.My bag was $50-$60.Products werent poor quality, but the tastes and textures were disappointing.Too similar and underwhelming.

We tried to go, but the dine-in is still closed. So we had to order online and wait for take out. No big deal, just check online BEFORE you go, which is smart these days. Theyve also got TONS of take and bake or more grocery style things available. At least during the pandemic, its just a deli to get a sandwich and pick up other great vegan meat/cheese.We got 3 sandwiches: the panini (a sorta bahn mi type sandwich when I went, a brother butchers steak sandwich), the breakfast sandwich, and the italian cold cut sandwich. The italian cold cut sandwich was great and the best of the three. The hot breakfast sandwich was good, but very dense and heavily herbed. The panini was a disappointing sandwich - every part of it was good (the meat and the bread especially) - but didnt do as much as a whole package as the other sandwiches we tried.

I love their steak. The taste sometimes I have to second-guess myself. But I know Im safe here but with their assortments of cheeses, deil meat, chicken, brats you name it. 100% made out of veggies and guilt free. I always go to when Im in the cities. Definitely freeze it and take it home.

A vegan paradise in the middle of the cities! HB helped make last minute Valentines dinner a hit! This spot has been on my list for awhile and Im so glad I finally got there. It definitely wont be my last visit. The woman working the counter was very patient and helpful as I picked out a variety of meat and deli items.The smoked Gouda, chive cheddar, and BBQ ribs were awesome. They had a great variety - make sure to check their website to see whats available daily. I stopped in about 4pm and there was plenty to choose from. If youve heard the buzz and youre thinking about stopping in just do it! Maybe Ill see you there. 😉

We were visiting Minneapolis last summer and stopping by to try them was on my list - I missed meat, especially bacon, and heard of them from a friends vegan blog. I got my own little sampler pack and even my husband, the avowed carnivore, thought their Korean BBQ ribs and Hickory Bacon were damn good. Im leery of ordering online, taste/texture unknown. Suffice it to say, I am ordering regularly online from them now, their bacon makes the BLTs of my childhood memories and the pastrami could be served by Katzs deli in New York its so good! Thank you for making a veggie lifestyle so much easier!

This place is wonderful! I made my first online order a few weeks ago. UPS delayed the shipment (not THB’s fault) and when it arrived, the box was a sodden mess. I contacted them and immediately their shipping manager, Bee, was really helpful and wanted to make it right. She placed another order for me and then kept in touch throughout the process to let me know when it would arrive. What great customer service! That is truly not often the case and I’m so glad they were incredibly responsive and nice. As for the food, so far my favorites have been the ribs and the ham. I’ve been a vegetarian for just over 20 years and they were some of the best I tasted. I will be ordering again!

I honestly dont get why this place is so popular. I ordered a lot of fake meats and cheese online. Ive now tried three of them and will never be ordering again.The steak was rubbery and disgusting. The bacon didnt taste bad but was nothing like bacon. The mozzarella tasted like Daiya brand vegan cheese and melted almost as badly.Im a lifelong vegetarian and really thought Id stumbled across a gold mine. Boy was I wrong. Back to my usual vegan brands.

Got two different sandwiches, the breakfast and the philly cheese. Delicious- not healthy (wheat gluten, bread, and probably a lot of salt) but no regrets! Big portions for $10 sandwich. Friendly service. Recommend if you are vegan or just really like fake meat!

Great options from the deli, even greater if you add in a ready-to-eat dish. I can’t get enough of this place, I think I’d buy 2 of everything if I could!

As a recently transplanted southerner that is an meat eater, this place is amazing! Bought the vegan sampler. My 10 yr old daughter, who has contemplated going vegan or vegetarian for quite some time, has decided we will be vegetarian when she is up here visiting. I have no complaints with this now that we have found the Herbivorous Butcher!!!

If you havent been here you really should run over. They do a great job with the items they always have but also pushing to find new flavours and tastes. A great shop to visit for so many reasons.

This place is great! Love the food, especially their cheeses. What puts it over the top for me is the classic butcher shop experience you get in the quaint shop where you still take a number. Great that you can also pick up a few other specialty items that are harder to find elsewhere, like Kellys Croutons. A definitely must whenever Im passing through town!

Delicious - everything savory that you have been craving, especially the Italian cold cut. A little pricey, so not your every day sandwich, but might be more affordable if you buy the alternative products and make food at home! Just a heads up: you have to order ahead (or wait outside while you order) and its cold in Minnesota.

Ok so I’m 3 days into being a vegan and I wanted to try this place out. The lady at the counter was incredibly helpful, totally not judgy that I’m new to this sort of thing, was great at recommending things that will ease me into this. I ended up getting the italian cut sandwich and I am absolutely blown away. Amazing, delicious, filling, satisfying......This is my new place. Love it.

Holy wow! The Italian cold cut sandwich is remarkable. Im an omnivore so this isnt a case of me forgetting how good animal based meats are, this thing is just down right delicious on its own merit. The team running the shop is also a delight.

These people are the best! I was unaware that they have their doors closed to the public and are taking online orders only. When I placed my order through their website, they brought it out immediately and saving me time from waiting around.

We order online pretty much monthly (were based in NY). Everything is scrumptious. The meats are juicy and the cheeses are smooth and flavorful. My Texas-born husband says the steaks and ribs are the best hes ever had.

Really fast service that the sandwiches we got were delicious! Lost a star due to the slightly rude girl who gave us instructions on how to order. Could have definitely been a bit more welcoming.

The Korean *ribs* are a must! I like them cold, the sesame flavor really shines through. Eaten whole, or tossed sliced into a salad or sandwich, the ribs are wonderful. The texture is hearty, and one is left with a comfortably full feeling. The pulled pork is good, I add more BBQ at home, and let it dry out a tiny bit to get the perfect texture.

Dont always eat fake meat.... but God DAMN! This chicken sandwich was amazing!

I ordered the Turkey Dill Havarti Sandwich. Curbside pickup was very quick from ordering to recieving. I am by no means a vegan, but I always like to try something new. Having never bought anything vegan prior to buying from here, I wasnt sure what to expect. If you gave me this sandwich and didnt say anything about it being vegan, I wouldve never thought that it was vegan! The vegan turkey had a similar texture to thin salami and the garlic mayo and tomato tied the sandwich together nicely. Overall, it was a balanced sandwich. This was a good first experience, and I hope to try something new next time I order.

I have had their brats (pretty good) and ribs (amazing!) before, but I went here for myself for my first time last week and I loved the aesthetic and the options. The staff was very nice and I like their promotion of vegan causes and Fur Free Minneapolis. I purchased one pound of maple bacon and a slightly expensive sandwich but it was well worth it! The prices are expensive compared to murdered animal meat, but it is a nice treat to have every now and then. Ill have to save up some money to buy the sweet shirts and sweatshirts they have.

Delicious vegan food and friendly staff that wear cool hats. Menu is a tad spendy, but its definitely worth it here.

Turkey was a bit chewy, and cheese is not as good as other companies (you have to get used to the taste). The rest of Thanksgiving dinner last year was very good.

I started visiting this place long before I dipped my toes into veganism. I first tried their vegan sausage at a pancake breakfast; at first, I didnt know it was vegan and then, when I when I tried real sausage, I thought their version tasted better! Im starting to explore veganism a bit further and have found that their products have better taste and texture than other vegan products I have tried from Whole Foods. Herbivorous Butcher know what they are doing!

I’ve always loved Herbivorious Butcher and they’re my go to place if I want to treat myself to some really good food. But their last two hot paninis have been so good I almost called them to just let them know how delicious my food was. Last week for my birthday I had their roast beef sandwich with white cheddar sauce which was incredible and today I had the brie, ham, and pear panini which was so good I had to write this review. They seem to just keep getting better and better, keep up the amazing work!

Their food is sooooo good! I am so happy they are around and their food truck is awesome too! I have been a repeat customer and will continue to be! The Korean ribs, all the cheeses, and all the brats are my favorites! Staff is very friendly - and genuine about it too! Love them love them love them!

Excellent selection and everything is impressive quality. Not just catering fake meat, but products delicious and unique in their own right. That said, you will find they have options to keep meat hungry guests satisfied.

Great vegan sandwiches, their Italian cold cut is delicious. A little overpriced for how simple the food is. 14 dollars a sandwich.

Not a fan of their meat products so far. The only good one ive had so far is turkey. The cheese however, is great. Service was fast but the attitude of the person who served us was kind of aggressive. Also most things are way overpriced. The sandwich was good but not worth the price.

The rotating hot Panini for takeout is delicious. I’ve had the buffalo chicken sandwich which was most excellent and the hot steak sandwich was as convincing as it was tasty. Also the vegan ranch is addicting. Wonderful place.

Hooked on the Italian Cold Cut Sandwich! So many good vegetarian food options here.

I just had a BLT for the first time in over 20 years. It was so much better than I remembered and, thanks to H.B.s hickory bacon, it was vegan and it was amazing. I cooked the bacon in a bit of peanut oil until it was crispy. Perfect. I also ate beer brats prepared the same way until they were golden brown. There is not the exterior snap of the casing (didnt miss it) but the interior has the exact texture of meat brats. They were so good, we ate them without buns. I cant comment on everything in the store, but I can say Im hooked and will definitely visit again. Really excellent product. Thanks for what you do!

I went the herbivorous butcher to get some vegan meats was dismayed went the cashier repeatedly asked me to join their cross fit gym. Even after I had respectfully declined the offer as I have my own gym they continued to get me to join cross fit. It was very confusing because I was just there for ribs. I slowly walked backwards out of the shop with my Korean ribs which were good. It’d be nice if they came with heating instructions.

I am not vegan or vegetarian. I enjoy meat. I did eat here recently because the guy I was with happens to be vegan. I was totally surprised at how amazing the pastrami was! Honestly, I have no point of reference for vegan food, but, I mean...its just good! I will be back (although I am NOT quitting meat) for the high quality food. Korean BBQ, you will be mine within the week! Added bonus: everyone in the place seemed to be smiling!

Amazing place and its so cool to know that they are the first in the nation. I ordered the Korean BBQ Ribs and they are AMAZING. Everyone is really nice and the store was super clean. It is expensive, but so is cancer treatment in your 60s and 70s. Supporting these guys and fueling your body with the right kinds of foods are worth the cost in my opinion. I drove over 26 miles to check this place out, so you shouldnt have any excuse!

Food truck review: Holy (fake) cow. Preface with I am not vegan, and not that they need to cater to non-vegans, but Im just saying I eat a lot of chicken sandwiches from good restaurants. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and fries with ranch. Everything was absolutely awesome. The portions were great (fries are sharing size) and everything so fresh. Best ranch Ive ever had and I also eat and make a lot of ranch. The staff was friendly and warm, despite it being the end of their shift on a humid day. We will be looking out for them in the future.

Love this place! Friendly staff, delicious meat-free and gluten-free items! The even have to-go sandwiches. Even if you eat meat, this is a great local staple to try at least once!

Stopped in here a few days ago. SO GOOD. Im not vegan or vegetarian but was introduced to this place by a friend and have been going back ever since. Ive had various sandwiches, ribs and brats. My current jam is the curry chicken salad sandwich (toasted.) AMAZING. I would encourage everyone to try it. The front staff is always super friendly and willing to answer all my questions. A++, 10/10 would reccomend.

Okay, I must say, for a non vegan open to trying new items, everything I tried was as good as it could be for know it was a bait and switch. The cuban pork and deli turkey were my favorites - once I got home to make a sandwich. I inhaled a piece of the jerky to tie me over on the ride home. The Mexican chorizo added nice flavor to the next days morning huevos rancheros. The presentation of all offerings were quite pretty, enticing me to buy more than originally planned. Put it this way, Tofurkey got nothin on The Herbivorous Butcher.

Great product, the customer service has gone up, but my main dilemma is the pricing. You would think since it’s meat and dairy less it would be at least decently priced. I don’t eat from here often because of this. Other than that I do honestly believe it’s one of the best places to get vegan cheese. The smoked Gouda was like closing your eyes and tasting your childhood favorite meal in one tiny bite. I would recommend something other than the Gouda but so far everything I could afford from here has been good.

Herbivorious Butcher. I cannot really provide an unbiased review because my nephew works there. And I am not vegan. HOWEVER, we stopped in today and had three bacon lettuce and tomato sandwiches. The sauce and toppings were perfect. The bacon tasted and had a mouth feel exactly like bacon. And I would know as I had just been at a friends house and eaten a few thick slabs of perfectly cooked bacon just that morning. I also loved the perfectly toasted bread. I actually *had* to start eating my perfectly portioned sandwich as I walked along to my destination because it was just so warm and I knew the bread was perfectly crisped and so on. It was a delight from the moment I unwrapped it and I savored it long after I had finished. It was a great sandwich.The staff was really nice and next time I will visit I will be purchasing one of their delightful nope t-shirts for my vegetarian daughter. Overall I was very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. I dont *think* I am just saying this because a relative works there, but please take what I am saying with a grain of salt just in case.

I was in town for work and had their food truck recommended. Checked the website and saw that the truck would be at Bauhaus from 4pm-9pm. Arrived a few minutes after 8 to find the truck closed up and the crew cleaning out the kitchen. I took a rideshare specifically to eat there, so they managed to waste both my time and my money. Their sandwiches are some of the best Ive had! The hot pressed chopped steak with peppercorn aioli has to be my favorite! The turkey havarti is a close second! The staff are always friendly and helpful!

We just went for the first time today and got two subs plus two individual ribs - it was $35. So, our first impression was “Wow! This is expensive.” The Italian sub that we got was amazing, though. It blew our expectations out of the water. The turkey sub was just okay. The cheese was phenomenal - good enough to fool me into thinking it was dairy cheese! The turkey, however, was chewy and lacked flavor. The ribs were our least favorite part. Although they had good flavor, texturally they were spongey. Overall, I think there were some hits and some misses. We’ll definitely be back to try some more in the future.

WOW!! I had their Reuben sandwich and was not disappointed! They have an incredible selection of vegan meats and dairy. Very kind staff that were laid back and friendly. Will definitely be back.
