I impulsively bought 2 items from the deli and they were both exorbitantly expensive and were not half as good as they looked. The sweet corn risotto had no flavor other than the corn itself. The Braised Beets were actually pickled beets and the vinegar taste overwhelmed all other flavors.

The most amazing shopping experience we have had ever!! Brilliant, friendly staff. The most eclectic meat, cheese and deli products you will ever find. You can enjoy a glass of wine or a beer while you shop. This is a bucket list item!!

Another exceptional visit and collection of craft beer treasures to smuggle back with me to IL on the other side of the Mississippi River (dont laugh. Its a geographic boundary that limits beer distribution). Very knowledgeable and helpful staff in every department. I cant speak highly enough for the deep knowledge and recommendations from their craft beer stewards. Every time I visit family in Edina I go here at least twice. Once at the start of my visit to provision for my visit, and once at the end of my visit to take back home.

Cheese shop is exquisite, great liquor options, and friendly staff. Visited for wine/liquor/beer tasting and ended up getting a club sandwich from the deli! Staff in the liquor store are very helpful and kind - I will definitely be back!

We walked into France 44 Wines & Spirits wanting a wine gift box. All I knew was what wine I wanted in the box. Adam brought us over to the cheese store and Sam suggested the perfect cheese, cracker, preserve and chocolate pairings to go with the wine we chose. They helped make the department gift to our boss extra special. I needed help and most other places requires you to order the gift basket online. This personal service cannot be matched. It was so easy, was delivered exactly when we wanted it to be, and it looked and tasted great (according to my boss!). Thank you Adam and Sam!

Wonderful place for European cheeses and pastas. They also have a small restaurant and will make you some delicious sandwiches or sides.

I am Deaf and I love that they have a Deaf employee, her name is TK Mehlhaff. I can talk in my native language- ASL- and ask many different questions about wine since I am newbie to wines. She is very knowledgeable about wine. I am often impressed with their variety of beer and wine. It’s huge for a local liquor store! A bonus, they have a small but great variety of root beer; I am a crazy fan of local root beer. This local shop shares the building (with two separate doors) with a local cheese and meat shop, it’s a great place too. With no surprise, I go here often, so I got in their loyalty program which is one time fee $44. It comes with nice perks. They also provide classes (virtually for now until the pandemic ends). This place is worth stopping by!

Loading up on beer for the weekend. Was pleased to find bombers of Surly Darkness Russian Imperial Stout and Odells Barreled Treasure Coconut and Chocolate Stout. Both impressive and delicious beers. As always, staff were helpful and friendly. My favorite liquor store for the last 20 years.

I went in and gave him my taste profile and asked him to give me recommendations and hes done an amazing job and have introduced me to some new favorite. They offer a variety of classes on wine as well. Clean, professional, and well stocked/organized.

France 44 is the best place for cheese in the Twin Cities! They have a huge selection of cheeses that you aren’t likely to see anywhere else. And their staff is very knowledgeable. Same with the spirits side of the store! Their loyalty program is well worth the one time fee ($44 when I signed up). It’s easy to accumulate points and get rewards dollars (aka free cheese!) Their classes are also amazing!

Huge selection of wine and liquor and if you are a beer person, their walk in cooler is 2nd round none. Friendly staff. Very good covid protocol and simply put, a great experience. You will not be disappointed.

I really enjoy France 44! Their selection of alcohol products is large, unique, and in a nice range of prices. I love walking in knowing I can find something new I’ve never seen before, or an old favorite. Staff are friendly, willing to answer questions and offer advice. The cheese shop is a fun addition with a nice selection. The store is always clean and well kept. I go out of my way to stop here because of the selection and atmosphere.

Order the surprise sandwich.Who cares what’s in it-try it for goodness sake.Order something to drink.Sit down with your lunch in airy dining room or outside.One hour later you feel amazing and are recharged for the rest of the day!!

All our friends know that we now affectionately refer to it as “the happiest place in earth.” The overall service, combined with the most amazing food and wine selections makes it an extraordinary experience every time we visit. I have traveled all over but this place is unmatched.Every person who works there is a special person and each one is always helpful and friendly. There is no cheese or meat shop within a 500 mile radius that compares. There are other spots in town but the service is not even close and the product selection is exquisite.If you aren’t shopping here - make a point to start. I can say that every single time I walk in I am met with smiles and I leave with a smile. Amazing gem right here in Mpls

Fantastic selection of prepared and gourmet foods, ranging from fresh meats, vegetable entrees and sides, to housemade broths and frozen cookie dough. You can order a reasonable meal to eat in the store (I like their grilled cheese with tomato soup). The cheese selection is very well-curated and the staff is highly knowledgeable. The alcohol store is perhaps even better.

We come here so often they know us by name. Very friendly and generally knowledgeable staff. The wine tastings are such a fun way to start the weekend. Always fantastic groups to try from and often you get to meet the winemakers themselves. The cafe has great sandwiches and always a really interesting and delicious cheese case as well and the staff is very helpful.

Are u kidding me, I spent $96, and then you ask me if I want a bag for an additional 5 cents!?? I respectfully decided and he took my cart and I had to carry all products to my car. Fantastic sandwiches offered in the cheese shop. If youre feeling adventurous, the Mystery for $10 is always a good pick. They also offer some soups and hot sandwiches, as well as a wide variety of cheeses, spreads, crackers, jams, and more!

Am excellent selection, and knowledgeable service make France 44 the foremost wine and spirits store in the Twin Cities (at least in my opinion). Another one of the stellar qualities that make this establishment shine is the fact that they allow tastings of certain bottles, allowing you to fully understand their suggestions, and inform your purchasing decisions.

Youll be VERY hard pressed to find a better cheese shop. Great selection, excellent and expert service and the dips, spreads and crostini are absolutely awesome. I have never had anything there that I didnt love. The liquor store is just that. Theyll have what you need to accompany the delicious food you buy.
