The circulating fan in the dashboard was not working for mysterious reasons and while it has not yet been fixed, it was diagnosed and a reasonable estimate was made and hopefully it should be easy to fix once the part arrives. The process has been smooth so far. Follow up is that the dealer no longer had parts BU Dana and Nila hunted around and found another supplier. They called me and it was fixed pronto. These guys deserve six stars.

Excellent customer service. No BS quotes and they give rock solid advice. Been keeping a 2007 Saab alive with their shop for a while now - practically nobody knows how to work on those anymore. Car broke down on my way back home out of state and they were able to last minute fix it and had me on my way back after only two days. Kept updating me and were very relatable and nice. Price was less than i thought it would end up being, too. Saved my life.

A Cooling Inspection was performed on my vehicle a few days ago and I am very pleased with the service.The staff was very friendly and efficient. After the inspection was done, they gave me a vey detailed report and cost estimate for the repair needed. Also as a new custor they gave me a nice coffee mug at the end.I will definitely comeback, RobertoNote:I am very glad the shop is taking covid-19 very seriously. Uptown is really following all CDC recommendations by the book and that is great.however, due to that change, customers have to wait outside and there are no chairs or seat for thrm to wait. I wonder if there is a possibility to add a few chairs and tables, along with a water, a coffe machine, an a garbage can outside so customers can wait while the car is fix.

I brought my subi in for an oil change and asked that they check out the dash codes. My first call back included $300 of work to investigate concerns. Id prefer that they had called and let me know about a bill that high before moving forward with the work. What is more concerning is that they provided an estimate that had several unexpected items to fix marked as severe indicating that they would need immediate replacement. The total cost of these repairs would be over 3k. I decided to pick up my car and get another opinion at the Subaru dealership where they provided a thorough estimate and overview of what should be replaced and what was simply showing some general wear and found that Uptown had marked 3 repairs as severe that Subaru did not feel was necessary at all. A positive experience with Uptown was that Dana was fantastic on the customer service side. The drastic difference in the estimates is more than enough to tell me that I cant trust bringing my vehicle here.

Fully convinced I was profiled based on my gender, race, and stature. The prices I was estimated were absolutely ridiculous and things that did not require maintenance or replacing.I would absolutely recommend finding another replace to bring your vehicle for services that will treat you fairly.

I called to get my headlights replaced after one went out and Dana was super helpful in explaining the process to me. They were quick, helpful, and very knowledgeable. I was super nervous to take my car anywhere because I know nothing about cars and don’t know what kind of maintenance it needs, but Dana was really thorough in her explanations and made me feel very comfortable leaving my car with them.

Folks at this place are professional and seem to be very knowledgeable (like really good at what they do!). But (of course there’s a but), I struggled a bit with making sense of their pricing structure.I sent in my 2010 beater Kia for an oil change and asked for a general inspection. I got my oil change and a nice 71-Point Comprehensive Inspection for $80+ (w/ tax). No included tire rotation :(They offered to change my engine filter for $54, my cabin filter for $71, replace a burnt out reverse light for $39, diagnose and service rear brakes to eliminate squeak (no tires were removed) for $115, diagnose a known rod-knock (I should stop driving that thing) for $115, and diagnose a known (minor) oil leak around the (resealed) timing cover for $78.The potential bill for all that work would’ve been $481 (w/ tax), which is a bit much for my beater.In other words, I’d highly recommend this place for if you have a European car that you don’t want to take to the dealership but still want to take good care of — my overall experience was very positive! However, if you have a cheap Korean car, just take it to tires plus (and maybe buy a Japanese car to replace it).Nonetheless, I’m happy with my experience at Uptown Imports (and super happy with the detailed inspection I got from them) — but it’s just not the place for me. Thank you, folks! :)On a different note, I got a card in my car that said “Thank You! And Some Goodies too!” Which is very kind; however, the coupons expire on May 27, 2019 (I serviced my car there on Dec 28, 2019) — I guess it’s a one-off error. It’s a very nice gesture nonetheless!

We live in Texas and my wife works for a couple weeks at a time in Minneapolis. Our older Saab lives there full-time, parked at a hotel for extended periods over the last few years. I needed a specific item repaired and flew in to drop and wait. John was more than helpful and provided me with a detailed inspection of various other items that needed attention (He was NOT trying the up-sell thing, I knew there were other issues already). I was impressed with the Knowledge about My Vehicle the owner had. Also the shop itself was clean and organized and the employees wore uniforms so the whole situation was very professional. The business is top notch. The office area and the shop are very clean and welcoming. After the technician looks over your vehicle, he comes inside and asks you what you do or do not wish to have take place. So, you arent hit with unexpected charges. The entire experience was great.

It’s definitely hard to find a place to work on Subaru’s other then the dealership. Luckily I did a little research and found this place. I had a some what major issue with my transmission and they were able to do it for $500 dollars cheaper then the dealership quoted me. But even before doing the work, they wanted to make sure that was the issue so I wouldn’t be over paying for something that didn’t need to be done. I am glad I found a place that I will be able to bring my car to when I’m having an issue and not worry about being taken advantage of.

I just discovered Uptown Imports. If first impressions are crucial in any relationship this is a 4 star start. Courteous, competent from the start. My goal is to keep a 2004 Volvo with 167,000 miles in good running order. I believe these are the folks that will help me make that happen.

Stated with a little bit of misunderstanding but understood why the price did change. The repair was done on time by very professional technicians. They showed me the valve cover that was changed on my BMW. Will recommend Uptown Import to anyone looking for a great price and work done professionally on their vehicles. Couldve giving them five stars but I just dont do...sorry Uptown Import.

No nonsense and always very easy to work with. I take my Toyota in for oil changes and they also take a detailed inspection of all systems, belts, filters, etc. If they come across an issue they do a great job communicating the scale of the problem and ways to fix. I trust the work they do because they will actually set aside the old parts and show you the damage on them when you pick your vehicle up.

Very clean shop and knowledgeable, They told me what was wrong what it would cost and fixed it in a timely manner! Only reason I wouldn’t go 5 stars is the pricing. I own a BMW so I know even simple things can be costly. The $150 diagnostics fee threw me off a bit. My total cost was $750 and $150 (20%) was just figuring out what was wrong. Most places I have been to won’t charge a diagnostics fee if they go forward with the fix. Seems like a lot of labor ($600 to change out $150 part). Maybe that is just owning a foreign car though! Overall very happy and will be back for my regular checkup!

I brought my 03 Subaru Forester here for an oil change. Got me in the very next day, charged less that the quote over the phone (speaking of which, Dana is great at returning calls!)They brought some things up about the Forester that i should be aware of that could affect my safety. We discussed plans of action and are going from there.Only place Ill take my Subaru. Thanks guys

I went in to get a door handle fixed. Derek knew exactly what he had to do found the problem almost immediately. He was able to fix my door handle with no problems. Everyone there was great and knowledgeable.

This places is great. I went in with a modded car, which they normally do not deal with since it had a tune, but they gave me loads of great advice. They also let me look at the car on a lift which is something I have wanted for a long time. 10/10 would recommend. Thanks to Eric and Dana, my experience here was unparalleled.

They made the process of having our Saab serviced, 4 hours away from where we live, very smooth. Dana was super helpful, as was the rest of the staff. The mechanic who serviced the car took the time to thoroughly discuss issues with us over the phone. We are very pleased with the end result!

First time visit for something very minor on my 2011 Audi a6. I was very impressed by the service I received, especially for such a minor repair. Their focus on small details makes all the difference. I cant give them 5 stars yet until I have a real repair experience to judge them by. Ill be going back when one comes up.

Called for quote for some work on my BMW. 2 Days later, I have still not received anything, not even a call back. Really unprofessional and poor service. I was told repeatedly that I was top priority when putting the quote together.....which doesnt seem like the case. How can I trust a shop to do thousands of dollars worth of work when they clearly have shown that they dont even care or want me as a customer. I would suggest that everyone take their business elsewhere.

My neighbor recommended Uptown Imports when I asked her where she serviced her Volvo, which is the make that I have. She said they were thorough, honest, and kind and completely explain everything they diagnose before moving forward. She said that their repairs were quickly and expertly done. I found all of this to be the case when I brought my car in. I was able to conveniently pay for the repairs online and pick up my car over the weekend, all during off hours. John (the owner) sent me a very interesting manufacturers video explaining the function of a part that needed replacement. I love educating people about their cars, he said. I highly recommend them and will return to them for all my service needs, including oil changes, for which they have a very fair rate.

Excellent customer service, especially at an auto repair shop, can be difficult to come by. Fortunately, Uptown Imports works to anticipate their customers needs from the very beginning of their customers experience to the very end. Despite having to order parts directly from a MB dealership, Uptown Imports were still able to complete my services by the time they had quoted. I will be returning!

My car seems to be running ok after the repairs, however a few things left me puzzled. I was told after the repairs were made that I would still need to go to dealership for computer updates (another fee). Had I known in advance, I probably would have gone to dealership in first place. Also within a day after repairs oil level light came on. Not sure if fluids were checked before releasing it to me. $2500 in repairs I would think things like this would be automatically checked. Other than the above mentioned items, not much else to say. However, a representative from the repair shop contacted me to resolve this issue. The problem was corrected at no additional charge and an apology for the inconvenience was given.

I have been going to Uptown for 10 years (first at their south Minneapolis location) and the thing I appreciate most about them is their honesty. They always do a thorough job assessing the car, then give me the must repair and the watch list items. They will take time to describe what they would do if it were their car and what will mechanically happen if this issue gets worse....allowing you to make an informed decision. Great shop!

From start to finish this was a very positive repair experience. The shop was clean and organized, Andi at the counter was very service-oriented and terrific to deal with, Enterprise provided the loaner from the site at a reduced rate and Uptown Imports handled those details as well, including extending the rental due to an overnight stay waiting for a part to arrive. The mechanic showed me the underside of the car where the problem was and told me what they did. He, also, was very professional and service-oriented. I really have no complaints! I felt well cared-for and received honest and fair treatment.

After we agreed on the price, scope and duration for the maintenance, I brought my car (after John also initiated the rental car with Enterprise) in a very neat place, where the greetings from Donna was also very friendly. 3 days later as per the plan, I got my car back for the agreed upon cost. Uptown Imports was by far the best foreign car service provider in Minneapolis. I scheduled the appointment via phone and they were amazing from start to finish. Fast and friendly service. Took my E550 in for a B3 tune up and to replace some sway bar links on the front end. Dropped the car off Monday morning, had it back Wednesday afternoon. Dana at the front desk is an absolute pro, will definitely be coming back to this team in the future.

My XC90 Volvo was having wiring trouble due to another shop working on it without a wiring diagram. The dedicated and professional technicians at Uptown Imports made sure they had the correct wiring diagrams and parts before even starting the job. We had to wait on a few parts, but thats not their fault. When I finally picked up my vehicle, I was pleased to see the bill was way less than I anticipated. I stopped by to have my car looked at after noticing a piece of the underbelly was hanging down. Although they were unable to completely fix the car due to additional damage, they were able to quickly get me back on the road with a temporary fix for a price that was more-than-reasonable! I would definitely go back.

The quality of work they have done on my car has been top notch, the prices always reasonable (Id say mid-range), the interactions with Andi always professional and informative, and the best part: theyll text, email, or show you photos of what needs to be done on your car and why. And not just for the big jobs - theyve showed me photos for every visit, and explained each time what I was looking at. John and Dave are great guys who provided excellent service for my garage queen. I was very happy to take my car based on the positive reviews I read about the shop. There were some negative reviews I read but John responded promptly to these reviews always trying to provide a resolution. If you need great service from a really good shop these guys are great to deal with. I will be taking both mine and my wifes car to them for service from now on. Call them you wont be disappointed.

I have been going to Uptown Imports for over two years. I find them very professional, easy to understand, and more reasonably priced than the BMW dealership. Its great having another option the metro area who are trained to work on complicated imports.

I brought my Toyota Tacoma in the have the 4x4 fixed after my local mechanic and the dealer gave up on it.John and his crew spent a LOT of time researching the issue and got it fixed. I know I wasnt charged for even close to the amount of time they spent on it.Everyone I delt with was polite, professional and my calls were returned in a timely manner.Ill definitely be bringing my cars back to Up Town Imports in the future .

I have taken my Saab to Uptown Imports for the last two years, and the service was always fantastic. They were always able to help me out when I needed it, and I always felt that they went out of their way to provide great service. Repairs sometimes turned out to be expensive, but driving these foreign and especially European cars isnt cheap!! Jason is one of the best, and Andi was always wonderful to schedule my appointments. I now have a new car covered under factory warranty so I wont need to bring my car to them for some time, but I highly recommend Uptown Imports--they are GREAT!!

Uptown Imports is highly recommended, they are always responsible priced and will let you know if a repair needs to be done or not. I was told by one mechanic that I needed to do my front and back struts but when I brought my car in to Uptown Imports they told me my front struts still have some life in them so they will just watch them. Another thing they do is show you the item they replaced so you know what was wrong with it and why they had to do the repair.

Ive heard very good things about this place, but it just wasnt for me based on the service and price I was looking for. Everyone will have a different experience, but for me it was overpriced and they gave a misleading diagnosis of my vehicle. I needed one repair done that would have taken 2 hours, but it blew up to be a long list of other repairs needed. They said if I didnt go with their recommendation my issue wouldnt be fixed, and they estimated my repair to cost more than what my vehicle was worth. Other expert mechanics never said I had to get a bunch of repairs done to fix my one issue, nor did they ever advise that my vehicle would be unsafe to drive if I just got my one issue fixed.I ended up with another mechanic who did a fantastic job and it cost 80% less than what this place estimated. My car drives better than before, and most importantly its fixed. I didnt have to get a bunch of other things fixed on my car like this place recommended. Mind you, I plan on keeping my car for only 2 more years. If you plan on having repairs done on a car you want to keep for a long time you should give this place chance.

John and his entire team are competent, professional and overall terrific. The dealership and other highly respected independent shops wouldnt touch my tricky Audi diagnosis and repair (scary looking bits in the oil pan), but Uptown handled the challenge with patience and transparency. I was truly pleased with Uptown Imports. I scheduled a pre-purchase inspection for a used 2009 BMW X5. Im beyond thankful for their detailed services because it saved me over $4k in unknown repairs. The receptionist was very helpful and willing to fit me in. I would definitely recommend their services to friends and family, but note they more so specialize in foreign cars.

Dana first of all is awesome at following up quickly and effectively. John and his team at Uptown Imports goes above and behind even when something as small as trying to fix a weird nose that was seemingly getting louder and worse after an initial brake, rotor, tire, backspring, air intake, and a throttle replacement.After having the brakes for less then a few weeks they had completely replaced them and the rotors after the final work (throttle). The noise didnt change but they identified it, was able to cut the price in half from the BMW dealership quote for the part to fix it. If I wouldve had my work down atThey will also show you your parts that you had changed which is a huge indicator of how honest youtmr mechanic is. There was no over exaggeration, just simple run down of what went wrong and where and why it needed a replacement.

How many auto shops in the Twin Cities have that level of customer service? Anyone and everyone with a Volvo MUST have their car serviced or fixed here.

I had an issue with the mini dealership, I was lucky enough to find these guys online. They were very friendly & helpful. They resolved my issue quickly and efficiently! Definitely going back!

John and Andi are amazing people to work with. I was particularly impressed that they responded to my concerns about an issue with my car several times over a holiday weekend. They were spot on about what the problem was, and were able to remedy it very quickly for me. Very reasonable on costs as well.

John has the latest tools to properly diagnose the problem quickly and then gets the job done fast for the best price!!

I have been coming to Uptown Imports for 3 years now and they have always been amazing. They are extremely trustworthy, knowledgeable, and polite. Jason keeps you informed of anything going on with your car at all times and John, the owner even came in on a Saturday so I could pick up my car! I will never take my car anywhere else! This is the place to come if you are looking for a trustworthy and fair place!

Owner John was pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. He gave quotes upfront, and explained the necessary repairs in plain English for those of us who dont know cars. Waiting room and garage impeccably clean. Would take my car here again!

They are very professional, communicate well, and work fast.Only downside is the diagnostic fee. With all shops I feel they cant do the work without knowing whats wrong, and $150 to hook up a device that literally tells them whats wrong seems a lil like robbery. It would be different if they diagnosed and I didnt have them do the work. Just seems like a profit gouge that should not be there or minimized, especially with parts markup and high labor costs.

So glad we tried Uptown Imports! Very professional and excellent work. Awesome explanation and transparency. Well definitely be servicing our car here from now on.

I highly recommend Uptown Imports. They always get me in quickly, are very friendly and always answer all my questions (even the silly ones) and go out of their way to get my car fixed. They offered to stay late so I could pick up my car after work, they replaced a bulb at no charge, and they never push extra work that I dont need. The best!

When Uptown Auto moved from nearby Harriet Ave I followed them to North Washington Ave for two reasons:1. they communicate before, during and after doing the work;2. they stand by the results.For example, they repaired a crazy loud howling noise by replacing the front blower, ($300) but the noise persisted. It was in the back blower. They replaced the old front blower for no charge and made the simple repair on the back one. NO CHARGE! Total bill: $85.Another time, my 2002 BMWs front end suspension broke, but I had to leave town on business. Uptown Auto found a way to fetch my car, repair the suspension, and I picked it up two weeks later. They kept my car safe and clean. Dave and Andy at the front desk really listen to me or my wife when we come in with our goofy descriptions of the cars problem. Weve used Uptown Auto for the last 5 years and look forward to more efficient and friendly service from them.
