They told me I needed to fix my car to be able to drive lyft, but I told them my car was over 150k miles so I didnt think it would pass. They assured me it would pass and I could still drive if I fixed the car.- Update: Owner gave me a call and was very apologetic. Refunded my inspection costs which was greatly appreciated. Plans to have this be a point of discussion to avoid in the future. Was appreciated.

I came to this Midas for the first time after being taken advantage of at another local mechanic and have been taking my car here ever since. They are always quick to get my car fixed and honest with me about any urgent issues with the car and things that can wait to be fixed at a later date. They never talk down to me and always take the time to explain exactly what is wrong with my car, even sometimes including pictures. I would recommend them to anyone!

Nice fast friendly service with fair prices. Fixed my sons vehicle no issues and they charged us much less than competing automotive repair shops with better service as well.

Only had to bring 10 items but I brought 24. They sprayed something under my truck, said I needed $1300 worth of work, nothing was leaking from my truck until they did what ever they did. I wont be going back to this location. Also they spoke in spanish talking about people and their vehicles and laughing. I felt uneasy. But the oil change was done within 34-45mins

I have had less expensive oil changes over the years, but I know this is the Twin Cities, and it’s definitely a lot more valuable than going to the dealership. I made a mistake on the appointment setting, showed up when I didn’t have the confirmation, and they still squeezed me in (and did so for another customer while on the shop). They care about your time here - thanks Midas Minneapolis!

This shop has a community feel and they are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I’ve been able to use their loaner car as well. They are my go-to whenever I have an issue and I know they will be great and take care of it. Awesome people!

This workshop called midas en la lake street, took 6 months that I bought a set of tires and an alignment for 3 years of warranty today that was to have my car aligned it turns out that they no longer charged me for one time of alignment and that they did not There is a guarantee, I spoke with the manager and he told me that he could not do anything and that the boy who sold me the tires no longer works there because nothing was fixed and they just charged me too much that it was for the 3-year alignment I cant trust this workshop anymore is my opinion,,,,

I have had my car with them since Monday. They keep telling me what might be wrong. Tech just told me it stayed outside for two days before they even looked at it. I am worried that I should not have used this mechanic.I just got a call from the owner of the shop. I can not believe that he would take time to call. I am so impressed. Now I feel heard and I hope he will keep his word. His call made a big difference.Well, it turns out I did make the right choice. They got my car fixed and cheaper than the original quote. Excellent service.

Lately, they dont answer my phone calls (called 5 times in the last 2 weeks, and theres not option for voicemail), and also tried to schedule an appointment online and never heard back. Disappointing that I have to try THIS hard to give them my business. Guess Ill find a new shop. It was fun while it lasted.

The team at Lake Street Midas is amazing! They helped repair my car quickly, professionally, and at a fair price after the catalytic converter was stolen. They also installed a protector for me months later without charging charging me an arm and a leg and stayed late on a Saturday so I could pick my car up before work on Monday. Pros: Friendly and personable staff. Can speak English and Spanish. Finished my car in a timely manner. Prices were decent. Clean building. Plenty of parking. Visible from the street and easy to access.Cons: None!I just brought my car here to have my tires switched from winter to all-season. Even though they were busy, they were in good spirits and finished my car before the quoted time. Erick was the one who helped me at the counter. He was friendly and personable. When I came back for the car, he re-explained what theyd done and what I could expect from my car (low tire pressure light, nails to be aware of, etc.). Midas in general always has good customer service, but this location had me really impressed. Ive never had a go-to tire place, but now I do.

Unprofessional, unwelcoming, bad attitude .I will never and ever recommend here anyone that i know and if you are reading my notes, please do not consider going or doing any service in here.On Friday I made an appointment to get inspection form. I was told that i need to change my two front tires, they had expensive one, i told them i will shop around, they said that I have three days or i will lose the $35 that i paid, I told them if its Friday today I have until Tuesday, they said no you have until Monday including the Sunday that they are off, I explained but they never accepted, I took it as they want to just take the $35, I left and installed 4 new tires in my vehicle, I came back and i was told to make appointment and from Friday no one told me that, i was told they finished inspecting and it will only take 5min if you install. then i made appointment on Monday and when i came no one looked my vehicle or checked if I installed, they just gave me the paper and told me that is it,the other issue is the attitude which is is a very low level, they dont want to explain or make things clear when you tell them i dont thing i am getting the service I wanted its like they dont care.And i took my friend to there we both had a very bad experience in a different timing for that i will not recommend to anyone to this place.

Erik was super on-the-ball, fixed my brake issue quickly and completely. Cost was super reasonable. His service was fantastic and genuine. He was honest and clear about which work could also wait a couple of weeks, times being what they are. A great neighbor to have!

Have gone to this Midas a couple times, but this time around I needed a new battery and wiper blades. Erick and Luciano (I think that was who I originally spoke with!) were incredible with their customer service, flexibility, and listening. Im never disappointment when I take my care to Midas Auto on Lake street. I had the pleasure of dealing with both Luciano and Erick and both are amazing at explaining whats wrong with your car and give you plenty of options on how to move forward. I always appreciate the before and after pictures they include as part of the service.If you need quality work done for a competitive price, dont look anywhere else. Midas on Lake Street is the real deal. I dont plan on going anywhere else for my service needs.

If they dont answer the phone when you call its because theyre busy working. Be patient, call them back, its worth it! Both times they have gotten my car in and out within a few hours, even with having to order a part in.Honest, fast, great work, and very reasonably priced!Ill be back for an oil change in the next week or so.Southside is rebuilding, and this is a great business to support while it does!

Always do a great job. And are always willing to show you any problems they find visually and tell you exactly how much and how long it will take. Yes its a bit pricey but the service is worth it.

I noticed my rear blinker was out yesterday so I brought it to Midas. Erik was so so kind and was able to get my car in right away. David was so helpful!! I brought my car in and the mechanics here not only fixed my car but walked me through the different options and the advantages and disadvantages of both. I really appreciated David literally showing me what was going on on my car itself. They also squeezed my car in on a very busy day and got it fixed really fast.

This shop is phenomenal with there electronic inspections so I could see what was happening with my car, and they are focused on customer service as that was clear in how they worked with me on a one on one basis and are multi lingual which is huge in this diverse area. Great place to take your care as I will be back.

Erick and his team were very helpful and kind. I came in for an oil change however I ended up needing more work done. They were really nice to point out and quote the additional repairs. But what i liked the best was how Erick did not pressure me to doing those repairs asap but to simply inform me. Also, they worked really quickly on my car. I will definitely go back.

Midas on Lake Street just saved my hide from a potential flat tire debacle. I ran over a nail on the way home, got home at 4:55 and heard the tire leaking — most places close at 5:00 but Midas closes at 6:00 — I called them, drove a mile to get it in, and I’m about to roll out of here 5:45. The whole thing - from discovering the nail to leaving with a patched tire - took only 45 minutes.This is the least dramatic car repair I’ve ever had. The guys at Midas on Lake, y’all. Incredibly kind, work super fast, and updated me three separate times on how my simple flat tire fix was doing. Check em out.(Also I’ve been over-hearing their interactions with the four other people who came in to pick up their cars and everybody left incredibly pleased.)

I’ve had the best car service on Lake St. with Midas on Lake/Portland. I’ve been coming here for almost 4 years now. I’m a single mom who knows nothing about cars. They are absolute gentlemen, and have always been incredibly honest and respectful in explaining and educating me on all things cars. Just now I was sitting outside on the curb to get some sunshine and some reading in while my car gets checked, and one of the mechanics (who knows me by name), brought out a chair for me. Just so thoughtful and kind. Such gentlemen. I had worried their business had been burned/looted, but it’s still standing and they are still open/serving.

Very friendly but poor service. I got my breaks done and they still squeak. I took my car back for them to check they said nothing was wrong. Also went for an oil change and the oil ran out within 500 miles. I don’t suggest this place to anyone. Way over priced for bad service.

This shop is really great! They always give a great price (I use a coupon from their website) and their oil change service is very fast. Erick completed our car last time and he was very friendly and even changed our drainage plug for free when he noticed it needed to be replaced. I would highly recommend this shop!

Horrible place, cant be trusted, very unprofessional, slow with repairs took my Lincoln to get new tires they installed them incorrectly. They cant install brakes or anything related to vehicle very incompetent I give this place a thumbs down they enter information wrong in system enter wrong name who is not the owner they are one big mess. Mistake after mistake. David the manager said they could do anything because I wasnt the owner at the time told him I am the owner but your staff entered wrong info then said I was trying to take advantage of situation told him to own the error he laugh said nothing he can do. Bad service, overwhelming, stressful, terrible customer service and frustrating. Please dont take your vehicle to midas on Lake street there they will damage your vehicle.

These guys have never let me down. Luciano does an amazing job running point at the desk, and every technician I’ve met works hard and hustles. Prices are fair, they honor promotions...it’s my kind of professional garage, low on frills and high on value. It’s the busiest shop in the neighborhood and that’s why.

Scheduled a tire repair and battery replacement in the morning, had my car back around noon. Seemed busy but didnt seem hectic. Told me it may take two and a half hours but was only two. Cost less than I thought. Very friendly and easy to find. Recommend scheduling a repair beforehand.

My boyfriend and I have been going to the Midas at Lake and Portland for a couple years and have really enjoyed our experience here. They’re professional, punctual, and reasonably priced. We’ve had issues in the past with shops trying to price gauge and rack on repairs that aren’t needed (we’re not the most knowledgeable on cars lol), but these guys will let you know which repairs can wait and which should be looked at sooner rather than later. Erick especially is awesome to work with! Highly recommend going here for any repairs. And yes, they’re open during the shelter-in-place!

I love bringing my car here. No pressure to replace things they reccomend. They just give you their honest opinion and send you home with an estimate. I recommend making an appointment. Most of the times Ive been in the office people are asking for same day service but they schedule day or two out. Although, I had my car towed here one early, winter morning and the replaced the alternator by noon!

Been to this location twice; once for getting our breaks fixed and once for an oil change and we were very happy with our experience! One of the most highly dependable repair shops Ive ever used. I had troubleshot my vehicle ahead of bringing it in, and was just going to ask for a part to be replaced. They offered to do a further in-depth diagnostic before replacing the part & determined that it was not necessary, and only minor work could resolve the issue I had. Mind you, I had already asked for a quote for the part to be replaced and the guys at Midas actually helped me save money.On top of this it was very pleasant communicating with them & they finished the work in record time. This business delivers what every business should strive to, value for their customers.I highly recommend them every day of the week.

I have been a customer of Lake Street Midas since 2015, when I moved to Minneapolis with my family. My wife’s (2007 Honda Odyssey; 2005 Toyota Corolla), my dad’s (2002 Lexus ES 200; 2004 Hyundai Tiburon), and my cars (2012 Ford Fusion; 2003 Mercury Cougar) have all been serviced by this Midas since, and we have been very happy with their service. The entire Midas crew has been very professional. Also, they are quite honest and affordable. I have even compared their prices with Turbo Tim’s and Midas often comes on top with prices that are lower for the same service. Most importantly, our cars have received routine maintenance at Midas and continue running optimally and without problems. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have their cars worked on.

I loved how the front desk person was able to bring me back to my car and have the mechanic explain to me in detail what was wrong with my car in addition to showing me where the issue was.

I went here to have my headlight replaced and they came back and told me my radiator was leaking to come and see. I told them no. My husband is an auto mechanic and I know my car was fine. I paid for my light being fixed and left. When I got home we checked my radiator and it was fine. My reserve tank had been emptied, we filled it up and it was fine. I drove all the way back to Massachusetts without a problem. My reserve tank was full when I drove in there and empty when I left there. No leak.PS: My headlight that they replaced burnt out shortly after I arrived home. New headlight lasted around 8 weeks. My mechanic husband told me it was because whoever changed it must have left a big fat finger print on it. I guess you’re not supposed to touch light bulb with bare hands, the oils from his fingers made light bulb he put in burn out...so 40 bucks waisted. But I am thankful, it could have cost me way more.

The staff here are great! We traveled over 2 hours for my dads surgery and on the way experienced what appeared to be brake issues. Called these guys and got in pretty quickly. We needed a ride back to hospital, so they gave us a ride! They found our issue, which was an easy fix but none the less these guys were fantastic.....so friendly! Glad we chose this place!

This place and these workers are wonderful. They are efficient, they are friendly, they have never tried to sell me anything I didnt need. I love that they show me gross air filters so I see how badly they need to be replaced. I have even tried to be proactive and ask if it was time to replace something and they have said no - I love that theres no pressure. Theyre also super personable and even remember their customers. The waiting room is small but clean and comfortable, and I highly recommend this location!

Honest work and fairly priced. This shop will not try to sell you services or parts that you don’t need. Valentine even took me back into the shop to show me what exactly was wrong with my car. In and out in a timely manner. Shop space is tight with a high rotation so make appointment if you’re short on time!

I booked for inspection, it was my first time and I left without service . I do not recomend.Regarding your response I made my appointment through Midas website and also called to verify it. I was told I have appointment at 12:00 when I was there the guy I met did not even understand what I wanted exactly he started justification. I dont understand the Lyft you mentioned. I got appointment from Midas Roseville they did a good job thanks to them . Do not weste peoples time that is not good way.

I was having some repetative issues with my alternator and David and his crew were very helpful. They upgraded my alternator and looked at my car 2-3 x in a week for free when I thought I was having issues with it still! They care about customer experience and stand beind their work. Highly reccomend!

Ismael is extremely helpful! He was able to get my car in for a service on my brakes half an hour after I called. He walked me through what was wrong with my brakes, showed me what needed to be replaced, why it was important to be replaced, and broke down the estimated cost. I am very pleased with his professionalism and courtesy. The repairs were done quicker than I had anticipated. I highly recommend this location!

Last night I i went on line to book an appointment for an oil change. The web site offered 5:30 today which I selected. I was busy at work today and didnt realize until afternoon that I hadnt received a confirmation. I called them and was told that they close at 6 so they would not honor the appointment. Very bad customer service. I have been a Midas customer for years. My location closed so I was looking for an alternative. It will certainly NOT be here. UPDATING- As a result of this post, the owner contacted me and thanked me for my comments. He will be checking in to the issues. He was very polite and accommodating. I appreciate his professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction.

On the first cold & snowy day of the year we realized the heat in the car was intermittently not functioning. They were able to work us in on very short notice to perform a thorough inspection of the car. The staff were incredibly helpful and professional. We will absolutely return to this location for all of our automotive repair needs & would highly recommend this Midas to anyone.
