There really is nothing these guys cant do. They are excellent tailors, plus offer a wide array of other services. Every time they are servicing me, they are very timely and have high standards regarding quality.

They have always done great work for me with fair prices but Ive been there twice in the past week and none of them wear masks. I now can see how reckless and uncaring they really are by this lack of action. I wont be back because its too dangerous right now . And I wont be back in the future because I see how little reguard they have for their customers and public health in general.

They were actually recommended to me by another luggage repair shop. What AMAZING customer service by incredibly friendly and honest people at ABA Semar! They were able to manufacture parts for my almost-20-year-old case (because parts were no longer available), and I couldn’t possibly be more pleased. I will go back! 10/10 would recommend!

First time walking into this shop to have a battery replace in a watch. Was greeted by who I assume is the owner - Paul. Super friendly, took care of the battery really fast and we had great conversation about business in general. I will be back for all my watch, alteration, and general repair needs. What a gem of a shop in the north shore. If you haven’t visited, you’re missing out!

WE HAVE USED THIS BUSINESS IN THE PAST, BUT MOST RECENT EXPERIENCE WAS AWFUL; THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO PUT NEW UPPERS AND LOWERS ON SANDELS. AFTER 8 WEEKS, $200 AND MANY, MANY LIES THESE SHOES HAVE NEW SOLES. IN ADDITION, THE PERSON WHO WAITED ON ME REFUSED TO WEAR A MASK, SAYING THAT THERE IS A WINDOW IN BACK. NOPE...THIS IS N *O *T THE PLACE TO GO....

Stopped in for a quick battery change on my watch. Got it done in less than 5 minutes. No need to buy a battery ahead of time, they already have them there! I was also charged .50 less because I had own battery. actually got the wrong battery but they gave me a discount anyways :)Great service and great company! Def coming back!

ABA Semar is the best! If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. I have a very expensive pair of boots and I wanted a modification done to the tongue. I called 11 shoe repair shops in the Milwaukee area and of the 11 shops only 3 said that they would have the skill to make the repair. Of the 3, 2 of them said that they could not guarantee the quality of their work. The only one with confidence in their skills was Aba Semar. So, I brought my boots in and showed them to Paul. Paul spent 10 minutes with me discussing the boots and showing me some different materials that could be used to make the mod. Now I have the boots back and I am absolutely thrilled with the quality of Pauls work. Paul is more than just a highly skilled technician, he is an artist. I would also add that I was charged a fair price. I give ABA Semar my highest recommendation!Follow-up from Oct. 11, 2018:I was so impressed with the work done on my boots that I brought in 3 more pair of expensive boots to be modified ( retail value is more than $2000 ). Paul did beautiful work on all 3 pairs. This is the place to go if you are very picky about quality.

Very knowledgeable on repairing all types of material and watches

This is the worst place ever. I dropped off my bag just to have a grommet put back together. They told me that they were going to clue it which I could have done that myself, but since I was already there I decided to leave it. I was told that it would be ready in a week. Not sure why it would take a week just to clue a grommet. When I got there a week later. I was told that my bag wasn’t ready and that he would glue it right then and there. So I waited. After I paid I noticed that the logo on the grommet of my purse was side ways so I had to take it back in and wait again. These people was very unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Really excellent cobbler service considering how many other services they provide. Had a pair of oxfords resoled which they fully and professionally restitched to the welt. The sole was trimmed smoothly and evenly on both shoes.Would recommend for this service and will return to try others.

I brought a brand new louboutin nude shoes to have them put a protective soles. While they did a good job on it they left a pen mark on the side of the right shoe. I think they are good but not really careful while doing their job. The pen mark is already permanent. They offered discount but still shoe has a stain.

Nice lady, quick turnaround when needed. Did not sew the bottoms back on 2 pairs of my jeans. Prices seemed high for Grafton - $16 per jean hem and $30 per dress? Just feels a little high in price and not super thorough for what it is

Bottom line: they do the best work of any shoe repair shop Ive worked with. I took off one star for not letting me know that the leather chosen for the sole was so thick, but they took on a project no one else would take on due to previous mangling of the shoes by another shoe repair shop, and they did a great job.

Brought in a hiking boot for repair in the dead of winter and when recently looking for my boots for an upcoming trip, now 5 months later, realized I had forgotten to pick up my boot from ABA Semar and figured it was lost as a result of my own stupidity . Had no ticket but had the other boot . Much to my amazement it took them 20 seconds to find my repaired boot and it was good as new. The shop would have had complete justification to clear out my boot months ago and they wouldnt even accept more money for service above and beyond. To replace these boots would have been an expensive proposition...... this was service well above and beyond . Highly recommended

I needed a zipper on my luggage suitcase repaired. The gentleman that was working there was very nice, he explained the repair, and said it would be ready in a week. He was also cheaper than another luggage repair placeI had gone to. It was ready on the day as promised! Very nice customer services.

After another cobbler telling me he couldnt fix my boots and i should just throw them away, i took them to ABA Semar, and wow, they did an AMAZING job fixing them up. they were pretty banged up too. the bottom/outsole was cracked all the way through, and somehow they even fixed that up. their hours are a bit inconvenient and sometimes randomly change without warning, but im so impressed with their work that i can forgive that :)

I had my work boot stitched up because a flap of leather came loose. These guys are super polite at the counter, the work was flawless and the price was WAAAYY less than I thought it would be. Thanks guys!

I went there a couple times for alterations hemming of pants. It was fine I pin all my pants. So i kept going back even though it was pricey but close to me work. They are pricey for alterations with mediocre qaulity, even for a simple non line hem of a dress $33.00. This last time, my brand new pants was hemmed too short, i took it back, they still charged me to refix. I was astonished. They said it was my fault. I brought all my pants pinned before no problem. Needless to say, thats the end of my business there. I did find a very less expensive, good qaulity alteration lady on Hampton and appelton ave. Shes not listed but shes priced very good for simple alterations.

If you want timely shoe repairs and repairs completed as agreed, you have the wrong place if you went to Aba Semar.In early August 2014 I dropped off two pair of shoes at Aba Semar to be re-soled and polished as well as replace the shoe strings and install heal protectors. When I dropped off the shoes the employee offered a one-week completion time, but as I was going to be on a two week vacation, I said why not take ten days.Ten days later, a friend went to pick up the shoes, they were not ready and the sales clerk suggested that she return the next day. She returned the next day, still not ready. She return two days later and the shoes were ready – kind of. One pair of shoes was not polished, neither had new shoe strings, and the heal protectors were not installed. My friend noticed the frayed shoe strings and they replaced them on request (which I paid for).Upon returning from vacation, I learned that Aba Semar did not live up to their completion commitments and noticed that one pair of shoes was not polished and neither pair had heal protector (which I paid for). While these may sound like small oversights but they charged $160 for this service for the two pair of shoe and I needed the polished shoes for a business trip. I polished the shoes myself!In short, they did not deliver on time nor as promised. Do you want to take that risk? Go elsewhere.
