I have gone here for 3 different fixes or alterations, including jackets that were my Dads from the early 70s. Always great work. On my way to bring in another jacket for repair. He does great custom work.In response to the other review, yes he works in a custom shop above his garage and it is next to a house. So what, hes a tailor and this is skilled work that isnt part of some big overhead store or dry cleaning business. Hes been doing this for more years than I can imagine but thats the kind of experience Im looking for.Call and setup an appointment ahead of time or just call and see if you can come by in a half hour or whatever, call ahead is the point. Again its custom work with very reasonable prices so he does need to see it before he gives you a true estimate.Only place I would ever go.
Response to Owner Response: Let me get this straight. You wait over 3 years to respond to my posting on your hideous customer service behavior. And in your response, all you can think of to say are a bunch of excuses from Im so old and your question couldnt really be answered to I had a bad customer experience in the past and woe is me. Please cut the bull. I work a high-end job that requires good service to clients and professional telephone communications. If theres a question I cant answer, I dont start screeching and squawking about it and hanging up the phone like a two year old child. Behave like a civilized human being. Looks like youre making excuses towards another customer down below and someone else referred to you as a grouch. If you cant keep yourself from being a grouchy diapers about everything, hang it up and keep referring people to better options like you did down below.Original posting: Big time warning out to the public to steer clear of this place. I called up this place and was met with a old crusty and gruff voice. I politely inquired as to what he estimated it might be for taking in a leather blazer just 3 inches or so in the chest. (This was just so I could have some approximate idea before I went way on the other side of town where this dude looks like hes doing work out of his house or something by Google Maps). The man over the phone just interrupted me and started grumbling about how I had to bring it in, how would he know and hung up on me. Now I have heard of poor customer service before, but not quite this poor so I assumed that this had to be some type of mistake. With that, I called back and said, Oh dear! Did we get disconnected or something? You were saying something and then the call immediately ended with a loud click. The man just started grumbling again, Yea, disconnection or something. I then said, Ahhh ok! But you were saying? This time he began grumbling even louder, saying I SAID YOULL HAVE TO BRING IT IN IF YOU WANT ME TO KNOW ABOUT PRICES AND STOP ASKING HERE. CLICK!!! Glad I called up before I took my beautiful leather blazer to this man to get a feel for his atrocious attitude problem. To top that off, his business appears pretty amateurish and unprofessional. Whenever I look up the location of this place on Google Maps, a rundown house shows up in what looks like kind of a crappy area. Then from what I see, hes got no website other than a Google Plus page at least as of February 2015. Wonder why Google is putting this amateurish looking place so high in the search results when I Google Leather Alterations Milwaukee. I wouldnt take your items to a place like this if you value them. Just my opinion.
I used his service many times. Great work for the price!
Told me he needed two weeks, month and a half later I called for an update. His response, you should probably pick it up and take it to someone else. He never even started
Shortened my belt, last minute, while I waited! Nope not Mr. Congeniality, but I found the owner to be an agreeable guy.
Yes hes a grumpy old man, but he does good work for a fair price...once he sees It! Try the pickles!
Tailored a jacket, did great work
