Cheap meat, passable produce. Lots of Mexican fare which is great. Its never crowded which is really nice compared to pick and save. Its not trying to be a boutique store, so come with expectations of being able to get what you need and good sales when seasons allow.

Great staff, good food at deli, full liquor dept, easier to get through quickly than huge stores like Walmart or bigger grocery chains.

On balance, this is a reasonably good store. Among the positives:a. always plenty of parking near the stores two entrances;b. usually light crowds -- even, say, on Saturday afternoons;c. very good meat department -- far better than the equivalent in anybranch of The Much Larger Grocery Chain Store;d. usually wide selection of brands to choose from throughout thestore; ande. sale prices can be very competitive with other retailers.The negatives:a. non-sale prices tend to be rather high;b. personal care items (shavers; deodorant; tooth care) are all butnon-existent; andc. layout of the store is such that finding certain items can be achallenge.But heres what stands out to me: the choice of music over the public address system. Ive visited this store at least a dozen times in recent months -- and every time, I hear what, apparently, is SiriusXMs 80s channel. For me, thats a fine choice. But its also clear, over those many visits, that the crowd here tends to skew older and Latino. Is that really the audience for such classics as Madonnas Like A Virgin or Duran Durans Hungry Like The Wolf? Talk about misreading the room -- although theres little evidence that such a choice is deterring foot traffic here.Overall, Id offer a qualified recommendation for this store.

The overall selection is more like 3.5 stars, but this is a good store for certain kinds of items. The produce section is fine but not outstanding. The deli is very good, and has great carnitas, cooked rice, and fried chicken. The meat department is light on seafood, but not bad for chicken and red meat. Also, the Pig often has lamb--something that Pick-n-Save on Holt no longer carries. Good variety of Mexican chorizo and Eastern European sausages. The Pig has standard canned/packaged goods, but the ethnic selections (Mexican and Polish, especially) are very good. Dairy and liquor are fine enough; the frozen food section is okay. I dont eat much candy, but aside from the usual mass-market suspects, there are some interesting candies from Poland and Mexico. The Pig isnt crowded like PNS often is, though sometimes there arent many checkout stands open, either. The atmosphere is downscale, but thats part of the charm.

Fine, too bad only one store hard to compete with Pic, but many items beat them on price & in stock. Mgr. & staff can`t praise enough!I know spent my whole life in retail & abatchlors degree with grad work.

Went here to get Gerber Amish chicken legs after calling and being assured that they were available, we discovered the same ploy a different non Amish brand offered. But on the upside the store was very aesthetically pleasing produce quality was good and we found everything else on sale in their ads. Prices on many items were better than we found at Malikis so we will be switching to this one even though it is farther away

Cheaper than pick n save, no curbside pickup. Healthy variety of products, too many plastic bags at check out. Wide aisles make it easy to keep distance while shopping. Good beer selection and Mexican foods section.

Hot foods section has plenty to pick from. Meats are always on sale. I stop by once a week to pick up sale items. Hot badger ham on sundays 😋

I used to enjoy the chimichangas at PW. I used to buy them every time they had the steak version, and would sometimes get the ground beef version. They were really good. But today, I was SO disappointed. Ive been eating chimis for nearly 40 years from a variety of restaurants. Never EVER did one contain peas or corn. This didnt have any Mexican flavor, either. Its like someone thought they were supposed to be making Shepherds pie instead. It was so nasty, what a waste of $5.

Two words: Circus Peanuts. One more word: NUMMYKINS.

Its an alright little local store to shop at my only reason for 3 stars is that they lock every isle to get in store. You have to go all the way to the West end of the store to do your shopping and when I go there for milk say it is really a inconvenienceto have to walk all the way to the West end of the store just to walk all the way back to the East end of the store for one simple item.

I really like the bakery and they have a Mexican bakery...I also just learned they make fresh tamales daily... but other than that I don’t enjoy piggly wiggly for grocery shopping. Poor layout, selection. Etc.

Walked right in to the Customer Service desk and waited as the employee finished up her task appeared to be headed my ways, then the phone rang and she decided to ignore me and answer that -Thus I continued shopping / received a very nice greeting & service from Isle #1 cashier then proceeded back to Service Desk saying loudly SERVICE AT THE SERVICE DESK! ...where I was greeted and received prompt service by another younger employee.Either train the older female employee or fire her -

Bad customer expirence coming from meat location the butcher was highly disrespectful

The meat department is nice; I always get quality and reasonably priced meat. The butcher and all of the customers were safely wearing a mask due to the coronavirus.The only problem was a manager, a woman with long hair. When I walked in the front door, she was in the service area with another employee, and she had her mask around her chin. As I was leaving, she was face to face with a cashier, changing out a drawer. Her mask was still around her chin. I wont be going back there anytime soon.This isnt a personal preference of mine, its about public safety.

Large variety of foods and a very clean store.

Bought 2 tomatoes, 2 pears and some broccoli. Threw out 1 1/2 tomato, 1 pear, and thr broccoli. Tomato and pear were rotten in 24 hrs and thr broccoli tasted like dirty dish water.

This is a little gem of a store that could be so much more if the owners would invest in some updates inside.

My favorite supermarket. The employees are excellent, its the best place to buy meat, & great deals on produce, milk & eggs. They have great deli salads. And Issac, in the deli is a good man, I love their Asian chicken salad. Angel, in the produce dept. is excellent, & very knowledgeable. They ought to reduce their prices on other grocery items, such as canned goods.

I like to shop at this Piggly Wiggly, early Sat morning is not too busy if I need to do a weekend run. Employees are friendly, especially the one Deli lady, shes very helpful.

I like Piggly Wiggly! They really have a great selection, the aisles arent crowded and they have human cashiers!!! Thats one of the main reasons I wont shop at Pick n Save anymore, not only are theyre prices high but you have to check your own food out, and bag it!

Sals Piggly Wiggly in Bayview is one of my favorite places too shop, and Ive been a long term shopper there because its a family run business and the employees treat you like family.The prices are good and if youre a smart shopper and use the ads your savings can really add up!Right now if you spend $50 they have a coupon for $10. Free money!!! Who doesnt like that.On most days theres a good chance that you will run into Sal the owner or Dave the store manager. Both are ready to help/ listen for comments good or bad.

Its a pretty good store if you buy whats on sale. I like the variety of ethnic foods that can be found. I am giving three stars because the employees at this location are terrible. They are always rude and arrogant. Recently we had an issue with a cashier. He was extremely unprofessional and should not be working in a service type job. Instead of arguing with customers and refusing to bag their items, he needs to learn to bite his tongue and accept that the customer is always right even if you dont agree. Without customers you will not have a job. I spoke to the owner Sal about the cashiers unprofessional behavior and I hope he takes it into consideration with this employee and all others at this location. There are many stores to buy groceries from including those online and keeping customers should be their number one concern.

Worst store design and some very dude employees...not all but more than a couple...ask for a sanitizer wipe to clean my cart per the sign at interest and the man complained saying he needs them for himself so I went and got the sign and told him maybe the store shouldnt post a sign then. Overpriced.

Pros:1) The staff is nice at this Piggly Wiggly.2) Some of their deals cant be beat; it helps to keep their ads in your rotation to strike great pricing.3) The rewards card makes it worth while if youre looking to save money on gas.4) The Mexican bakery located within this Piggly Wiggly is a nice touch and offers a variety of authentic Mexican, freshly baked goods.Cons:1) The produce isnt the greatest. Even after thoroughly inspecting all my fruits and veggies prior to purchasing them, which takes awhile, since youre going through items that are nearing their time, Ive noticed produce from this Piggly Wiggly does not last long. Expect to use your products within one to two days of purchasing.2) I do NOT buy meat/seafood from here. Reason being: though the deals are great on their meat/seafood, Ive noticed that many of the packaged meats in the coolers look discolored/not so fresh. Same goes for the fish. Ive bought steaks from here once; lets just say never again.3) If you need to use the bathroom, avoid the ones here like the plague. Ive used the bathrooms here numerous times on various days and they still look awfully disgusting. As it goes in the restaurant business, you can judge general cleanliness by how kept the bathrooms are; this is why I tend to avoid the ready made or hot food sections.
