Got a nice table outside with our party of 3. Service was quick and friendly. Currently menus are attainable outside via QR code. Most of the food options is $15+ which can get pricey quickly depending on what you get. Their cheese curds and sweet potato fries are great sides with a lot of dipping sauce choices.

Our family stopped by this cafe on a whim for brunch and we were very pleased we did. It seemed busy but we were well taken care of. The manager stopped by to check on us as well and she was very personable. The eggs for my Benedict could have been a tad more runny inside but that is just my personal preference. Overall great experience!

We had brunch at new place today and Im happy to say I enjoyed it. Cafe Hollander had great tasting food and great customer service. Our servicer Adam was very personalable, attentive and warm. I would indeed recommend Cafe Hollander and definitely would return next time Im home in Milwaukee visiting.

Ken is the best server I have ever had. I brought my grandparents and my cousin from Texas to my favorite spot on the east side, Cafe Hollander Downer. After our meal, Ken recommended the ever delicious brownie and let me tell you, it was irresistible. I’ve never left a food review in my life but I ordered the chicken avocado bowl and had it delivered. The avocado was actually not edible. For a $20 bowl, with one of the main ingredients being avocado, this is not acceptable.

I always try to visit Café Hollander whenever I come to Milwaukee, and I’m never disappointed! Their beer list is always stellar, with a good mix of local, domestic, and imported varieties. If you go for brunch, I highly recommend the Bier Mosa and Brew City Benedict. Finally, the staff are lovely, and very fast. Overall a great experience!

Extremely good food and very pretty setting. The burger, cauliflower bowl, and pecan pie were excellent. Very nice patio. We went on a busy Friday night and had a long wait for a table but walked to the nearby park on Lake Michigan which was beautiful. There’s also a bookstore nearby. Highly recommend Cafe Hollander.

Cafe Hollander is a very popular brunch spot, though we went for dinner and had a wonderful experience. Server was fast and friendly, and food was on point. This place probably has the best take on a BLT Ive had - highly recommend it. As others have mentioned, the atmosphere here is lovely especially if you get to sit outdoors. Definitely one of those places you have to eat at if youre ever in Milwaukee.

Whenever my wife and I are in Milwaukee, we love to visit Cafe Hollander - Downer (CH-D). Our daughter put us on to this place and its simply the best. There are lots of choices in town and competition for customers is high. Honestly, CH-D gets our vote way more often than not!

Just went to brunch with 8 people and sat on the patio. Our server, Travis was a true pro. Didn’t seem like we were inconveniencing with paying with multiple forms of payment even though I knew we were. He was super upbeat and positive. Everyone in our crew got different food and they all loved it. The quiche especially was great. And of course the bloody Mary’s are always delicious. Thanks Travis!

On a terribly busy Sunday night recently, we saw the staff at Hollander do a great of keeping up. The food was terrific as usual, but what especially impressed us was our server Britt. She worked hard to satisfy our party of six -- including an energetic 5-year-old -- and performed with charm and a great sense of humor. Bravo.

Going to Café Hollander is always a nice experience. This time I had a marvelous Belgian beer served in a very unique way. The food menu is pretty good, Ive had sandwiches and burgers before, this time I had the jambalaya and it was ok. I wish they had more variety in the food menu or more generous portions.

Went to Hollander on Downer Ave and had Ken as my server. Dude was so awesome and HILARIOUS. Turns out his mom’s cousin’s daughter’s friend was the previous owner of my sisters husbands pet lizard ! Small world!.. I got a burger that was terrific and the kids loved their sandwiches. Overall great food and great experience. Will definitely be back!

Came here for my anniversary last night, great experience. We had the smoky burger and salmon, both of which were delicious, along with some of their specialty beers. It was very busy, but our server Ceci did a great job keeping tabs on us and making sure we had everything we needed. She was friendly, energetic and attentive. Love the atmosphere, can’t wait for our next stop in.

A peasant escape in difficult times. Food and service were top rate. The domes made us feel like Cafe Hollander took our safety serious. Im not a beer drinker, but my wife raved about the exotic beers. Cant wait to go back.

The longest brunch of my life! We got there, on Saturday late morning. 20 min wait. We get seated, no menu, no water. We got our water after asking 3 times. We order……. We waited and waited and waited AND WAITED!! After many apologies from our waiter, and after watching many others eat who arrived after we did…,,,THE FOOD CAME!!! Hallelujah!!!! The food was very good. Then again anything would have been good as we were starving. The manager did apologize and adjusted our bill. Which we did appreciate. So on that note. If you’ve got the time, go for it!

I usually do not post reviews but the experience I had received yesterday was exceptional. It was my Pop’s 91st birthday and me and my family of 20 made a reservation and told the restaurant we didn’t know if we wanted to sit inside or outside. When we got there, they had both the outside dining AND inside set up for us! A party of 20 people! We were sat quickly and had our drinks and orders in almost right away, as we were very hungry from our long day. Every one of our orders were correct and punctual. I personally ordered the Salmon and my father ordered the Jambalya-suggested by our server-and he absolutely loved it. Our server was named CC and she was one of the best servers I have had the pleasure of dining with in my 10 years that I’ve been in Milwaukee. She was charming, witty, and very personable. We all felt like we’ve known her for years. CC made my father’s 91st birthday very memorable and she even managed to get a chuckle or two out of him. I would highly recommend visiting Cafe Hollander and also to request CC as your server!

WOW. I am a hard person to please when it comes to eating out but this place really surprised me. Pricing is fair, service was meh because it was rush hour, but the food was AMAZING! Although written in the menu they carefully select vendors, it is one thing to taste that on your plate. I ordered the berry waffle and sausage omelette, my friend the Eggs Benedict. We didnt talk for the first 20 minutes the food was so good! I will definitely be back! Hopefully I can change to 5 stars!

We walked into this floral temple dedicated to brunch and were told there would be a 20 minute wait. Given the idyllic morning, we thought a short walk would not be amiss while they prepared a place for us. But we could only count the time as lost, for when we were shown our table beneath a canopy rivaling the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, we were approached by a being composed of the pure light of wisdom and mirth. No, this was not one of the celestial creatures of Valinor. This was Ken. A greater combination of humility, kindness, and gentle guidance there never was. Ken led us down a path of flavor we would never have found alone. From the peaks of sweetness found in the berry basil French toast to the secret dwelling of the bacon breakfast tacos, to the salty sea of the Milwaukeean Bloody Mary, our experience of the world is forever change. Thank you, honorable Ken. You will always be remembered as the fairy godmother of brunch.

From the location point of view, it is still great, but the Cafe Hollander that I used to know during last two years was perfect in terms of food. Recently, they have made some changes in their menu for example they have totally different salmon salads. I really prefer the old menu

$14 for a cold grilled cheese on white bread? It did have two skinny pieces of flavorless bacon and 3 cherry tomatoes. Not. Worth. It. And the real issue is that I got exactly what I ordered; this is not one bad day in the kitchen but a sample of a menu thats lacking in flavor.They were also out of every other food and every beer we wanted. I was excited about this place--so disappointed and were not coming back.

When I was in college, this was one of my favorite places. I once left because they did not have a Grand Cafe Club, THAT IS ONE OF THE BEST SANDWICHES I HAVE EVER HAD. I always get that when I go or now, since I moved away from Milwaukee, when I am in town. I went to brunch here, it was fine. I prefer the lunch/dinner menu better. Again, Grand Cafe Club. Sconnie Burger is pretty great, along with cheese curds. I love love this place. Now my brother goes to UWM, so I always tell him to stop by here once and a while for a good eat!

Cafe Hollander on Downer needs to pick up their game on Carry Out! We pay the same and tip the same! Our daughters gluten free meal with eggs was mixed with my husbands meal with regular toast on top. My son in-laws sandwich had no French fries that came with the meal. My husband waited while the meal was ready but he thought the name on the bag was Stacey. So by the time he realized it, our food was cold.

The fish fry on Friday is one of the best Ive had in Milwaukee. Awesome outdoor seating, great vibes! Cici was our server shes super funny, energetic and great at her job. Ill definitely be coming back!

I got here at 10:50 am, it’s almost 12:30 and i never got my food. they lost our ticket in the wind. the server was inattentive at best. i requested cream and sugar for my coffee 4 times and never got it. no manager came over to check on us. our table frequently requested water and only received 1 refill. my coffee cup is empty, nobody came for warm ups. every time i have went to a lowland group restaurant i have received inadequate service. this is the worst service ever received. it’s 12:27 and the manager finally showed up. the beignets were but nothing to be desired.
