The sliding door on our minivan was not closing properly. It looked out of alignment. We called ETE and they said bring it in for a look. Turns out it was a very loose bracket. Matt from ETE tightened up the bracket and sent us on our way, no charge. These guys truly take care of their customers and their vehicles. This is why our family brings all our vehicles to ETE. I took my 2001 Chevy 2500 express in to have the exhaust and transmission checked out. I was expecting to spend a couple thousand dollars on it but they called me in the next day after they had completed the check and told me that it was just normal wear tear. I was shocked when they didnt charge me anything. Great place to do business with.
Jeff the service manager was AMAZING!! My car wouldn’t start on the day I was supposed to drive to Florida. When AAA towed my car to E2E, I called and explained my predicament to Jeff and he had the service guys look at it immediately. Since a part had to be ordered, he let me bring my rental car in to transfer all my luggage from my car. While repairing my vehicle they found another issue and he found a way to repair that second issue quite inexpensively. Definitely would recommend and will be using them for any repairs in the futures.

The clutch on my 03 VW JETTA VR6 failed at 134k approximately. They were able to replace the clutch and slave cylinder for only $1399 approx.Six months later and my car is still driving like new. It isnt just the quality, but I was very impressed with Jeffs ability to take the time to explain exactly what was wrong with the vehicle and what needed to be replaced and why. They really care about their customers.

I’m submitting a review for my disabled brother and girlfriend. We brought in for suspected timing chain failure.. they charged $100 to check it and quoted very high, which is expected given it’s an interference motor, however.. we brought to someone who quoted cheaper and they told us they could tell nothing was touched or opened up to check.. so ETE charged $100 to check, but then obviously never checked at all..
I do not go to a place that will charge 25% to 40% above a quote. If I tell you I know how to do the work myself, I do!If you tell me an engine & coolant flush is $149.00 when I call, I dont want to pay over $200 when I go to your garage. I know how to do these things, and how long it takes. $149. Parts & labor, does not mean $202, and be called a liar to my face. Quote I dont know who told you that because we always charge $75.00 each plus labor. I just left. AAA

Very dishonest they lie to you and say theyll get to your vehicle right away then its its for over a week before they even order parts so if you own a business and depend on your vehicle for a business theyll make sure you have a ton of down time and almost lose your business before they fix your vehicle you think they would have the decency to tell you about the massive weight before they greeted take your vehicle on the completely unprofessional
No one knows whats going on with the company one person tells me to bring my car in and it would be $140 for a transmission flushI was running a little late so I then called back to verify with someone else that Id be running late they then informed me that they wont use any of the product that I had already purchased even though the previous gentleman had told me they would. I told him that I have my receipt and that I purchased all of the oil through BMW he says they refuse to use anything provided by a customer and I asked him what would he be willing to use on the vehicle then. He says he would have to be the one to purchase it through BMW because they make money on parts so I was just told unless I was willing to get ripped off they wouldnt work on my car. Then for my truck he wont do what was sd to be done on it but is quating me a far higher price for less work.
My car stalled while on the highway and I had it towed here, but they unfortunately cant resolve issues with a hybrid drive. However, because they ultimately couldnt help, my inspection was free. I certainly would trust them with a car again.

Back in 2018 my shop ordered me a rebuilt transmission for my 2008 Acadia from ETE. 3 years and 102K miles on that unit and still going with ZERO issues. Thank you for a quality product!
Had a concerning leak of red liquid found during an oil change. I had a transmission replaced last year with ETE on the same car, so I was concerned. ETE was able to diagnose it quickly as a failed transfer case gasket and get it fixed quickly at a fair price. They also answered my other questions and reminded me to do some other needed maintenance on the car which I also had them do for a fair price. No BS, fair prices, quick turnaround and great explanations of the issue, and no price inflating - their price was at least $100 less than the average cost for the same repair elsewhere. Thats tough to beat.

My daughters car engine was going out as she was told by the dealer. I was calling around to see the best deal and warranty on a replacement when I spoke with Vince. He put my mind at ease and quoted me a decent price in a pinch. I had the car towed over and they rechecked that the engine needed to be replaced. I was quoted a different price by another contact at E&TE but the price was still honored and service was done sooner than expected. I will always recommend E&TE to anyone as that was FIRST class all the way! I even received a call during the process for recommendations on additional parts to avoid further issues down the road! This is the fourth time I have used ETE and it will not be the last. They are my repair specialist of choice. Twice they have clearly told me what was wrong and guide me to the most effective repair. Another time I brought it in, they identified the problem and told me how to fix it at no charge. These guys are the only garage that I have ever had this much confidence in since my grandfather closed his shop twenty years ago.

The guys were very pleasant and understood what I was trying to tell them what my clutch pedal was doing. Also I liked when they told me about the noise under the car by chassis.
Dropped my Town and Country off on Friday afternoon for oil change, tire rotation and for a brake light coming on and off. They were unable to diagnose the brake light because light didnt come on and there was no code being thrown. They did find my transmission cooler lines were leaking. I completely forgot about a leak I noticed a couple of months ago, I thought it was brake or oil related because I had the oil change (someplace different). Oil change company said everything was dry. So I didnt give it another thought. It clearly was still leaking but I didnt see it, because of how wet my garage floor has been. I am thankful they noticed the problem and got it corrected before I had a major repair due to no transmission fluid! Guys are friendly and answered all my questions. Jay Weber was right, these guys are worth a try. I am much happier with the service I received from E & T than I have received at the local dealer. I will use Engine & Transmission Exchange again and will recommend them. Thanks!

I lost an engine on my silhouette,I thought eh its the cold weather. But when my escalade had a transfer case go out and it was caused by the transmission, Im done, Ive had it with the garbage, no more!!!
Took my 2007 chevy equinox to get an overheating issue taken care of. Spent close to a grand on repairs and the issue has not been corrected. Ive been told they have no issues with it yet I cant drive it for 15 minutes without the engine overheating. They say theres nothing wrong and they cant find the issue. I expected better from a top rated business. Im thoroughly disappointed in their services. I was also told to just pull over and let the engine cool down whenever it does overheat.

I dropped it off very late in the day, just before they closed and they couldnt get to the repair until the second day it was there. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. every time I called them, I felt like everything I wanted was getting lost in communication between the salesman on the phone and the actual technician working on my car. they changed the quote they had initially given me over the phone immediately after my car had been dropped off, and offered me zero solutions to my problem.
Good service. I did have problems with my repair, but they fixed it. I would give them 4.5 stars. Expensive labor $100 per hour!
My wife and I made a weekend trip from Chicago to Milwaukee, only to have our vehicle develop an unexplained leak. Being at the mercy of a shop with which we had no experience, we were very concerned about the price we would be quoted. Vince and his team, however, proved to be very professional, courteous, and efficient. Vince was responsive and proactive with his communication, and the shop proved very knowledgeable and was able to quickly confirm a diagnosis. Repair was done within a couple of days, despite a lengthy power outage that was out of their control. I would highly recommend ETE.

Oscar and his team are awesome! I had my car towed in after overheating, They took at look at it the same day and I just had a small leak in the radiator hose. All fixed for a very reasonable price. I waited a few months to give a review because I wanted to see if what ETE helped me out with actually worked. Heres the back story; I had been having ongoing engine problems that my usual mechanic couldnt figure out. He even suggested I take it to a Dodge dealership which I did and they could not fix it. I finally called ETE and spoke with Vince over the phone. When he heard the make model and year car I have he suggested I do one thing before bringing it in. After following Vinces recommendation my car has been working perfectly for the past three months! Without stepping foot in the building the service was beyond exceptional and saved me thousands of dollars to fix.THANK YOU VINCE AND ETE!
Oscar is the man. We had a 1 ton plow truck go down. I called and got it in right away. Less than a week the had a reman put in and I was back to work. Truck works great. He was in complete contact the whole time to advise what was going on.
I had heard advertisements for ETE on AM 1130 and was skeptical because they are paid advertisements. When my 2006 Honda Oddysey had engine trouble they diagnosed a timing belt problem and actually recommended that I take it to the shop that had installed the timing belt so I wouldn’t void my warranty. Their willingness to lose the money it would cost to install a timing belt kit showed me they were honest. It ended up my warranty was already expired from the other shop and ETE did the work. They diagnosed a much less expensive repair than a timing belt kit and my van made a 10-hour drive later that week and is running great. I can’t say enough about the good experience I had, and I will be back in the future and will recommend ETE to anyone looking for a mechanic with integrity.
They did a clutch for me and everything is working great but they left a trans bolt loose.
Great service. I was told by another service place that I needed an alternator for $550.00, but when I took it to engine and transmission they said that it was fine. They saved me a lot of worry and money.Everyone was so helpful and friendly. I wont be going anywhere else.
I told Jeff that hes my mechanic. If I would have known Jeff when I purchased my 2008 Explorer I would have not purchased a warranty which I shouldnt have I did they never let me use it. it was a Ford dealership on the southside of Milwaukee I will not ever spend another Penny there....
My boyfriend had an engine replaced on his truck here and it has to go back in for service almost weekly. HE is on the third engine and it is still not working. We have had to spend thousands of dollars on rental cars while they try to rectify their problem, still to no avail the vehicle is STILL NOT FIXED!!!!

Went for an alternator fix they quoted me $1,000 to fix. Found somebody cheaper they trashed my car and told me a homeless person broke into it and just stole all the change but nothing else. Do not go there for anything because they will over quote you and then trash your car

12 months ago, I had my Tahoe towed in for a snapped shift cable. ETE installed a new one... too loose... and tightened it a month later. Almost a year to the date later, the cable snapped again. I paid almost $200 to tow the vehicle to a reliable mechanic in Brookfield, and including the tow fee he fixed it for about the same as ETEs original cost. He said ETEs install was done wrong, as they had failed to loosen the drivers seat bolts to properly route the cable. As a result, it got pinched and snapped. Shoddy and overpriced work by ETE!
Dont Take your Mercedes Sprinter HereWe had a transmission go out while passing through Milwaukee. We were towed to this shop by AAA and felt comfortable after talking with them that they had experience with Sprinters.After getting the van back a week later I hopped in and took off down the freeway toward chicago where were had been staying while waiting for the van. As soon as I got off the freeway and slowed down I could smell burning transmission fluid. Inspecting under the hood I found fluid had come all the way out of the dipstick. I checked the fluid level with my MB dipstick and found it was at least 3 over the full mark on the stick. Well up into the coil spring part of the stick.I called them and they told me to drive it all the way back to them (40mi) so they could take a look. after getting it there They told me everything was fine and that the transmission fluid was at the appropraite level!! even though it was clear that it was insanely too high. This is how we service all of them they saidThey put it on me if I wanted them to correct it to the right level. Saying they would give up any warranty or responsibility if I chose to take any fluid out so that it would be at the correct level on the dipstick.They also repeatedly said if we overfilled it the fluid would just come out the vent on the case and then it would be fine - So why does MB have a dipstick if you just put as much fluid in the transmission as you want and let the rest bubble out as it heats up??? it doesnt even make sense.They used high pressure and their authority as a technician and shop to make me feel like I had no idea what I was talking about even though it was obvious they had overfilled the transmission. They coerced me to leaving with the transmission filled to that level because i was scared of damaging it myself and having no warranty. (although I highly doubt that they would have stood behind their work anyway)Fast forward 3 weeks and the transmission is slipping and hard shifting. Ive taken it to another shop that told me it was grossly overfilled and that its likely I could have caused significant damage to the transmission. Hoping for the best going forward, but just a warning to all others that this shop cant even fill a transmission with fluid properly... or if they do mess up, they are to scared to take any ownership of it... not sure which is more accurate but either way I would steer clear.
I have been taking my vehicles to ETE for over twenty years. At first I thought they only did engine and transmission work. Over those years they have saved me a lot of money on everything from simple oil changes to just looking a car over before a trip. I have a 2012 Jetta that the driver window would go up. I brought it in to the 27th street location yesterday and talked to Oscar and stated my wife really needed that car for work tomorrow. Three hours later it was done! I called another shop earlier that day and they told me that Thursday would be the fastest they could do it! Thank you Oscar and ETE!
I visited the Waukesha location. I dropped off my 2011 Nissan Titan for an ENGINE LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, VDC LIGHT, BRAKE LIGHT, and SLIP LIGHT. When they finally did the diagnosis I was told that I had a fail gasket for my engine oil cooler. I was quoted 1300 for the repair. When I picked up the vehicle the BRAKE LIGHT, VDC LIGHT, AND the SLIP LIGHT was still on. I was told that they thought it was all part of the bad ABS sensor that was replaced but the everything was checking out and working properly. Once I left the store the ENGINE LIGHT came back on. I called and returned to the store and they reran the codes. Upon speaking to the TECH (who worked on the vehicle) he told me that they just cleared the code and thought it was being cause by a gas cap not being put on tightly. I told them that I replaced the gas cap 1 week before I brought it to them. I was then told that they never did anything for the ENGINE LIGHT other than clear the code. When they ran the code they asked if I could leave the vehicle for them to then do the required smoke test to find the problem and that would be no charge. I would however be responsible for the parts and cost of the repair. I was also told that the vehicle is drive able. Since they only fixed 1 light out of the 5 that I turned it in for I basically paid 1300 for an oil change and a sensor that was bad. As I left the store I told them that none of my vehicles would ever come back to their repair shop for any work. The office lady and the service manager were very rude and need to be fired for the treatment of customers.Now I have to spend even more money to get my vehicle fixed when it should of been done the first time. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this repair shop.
Brought in my friends audi A4 with engine light on but car would start they towed (very fair price) the vehicle to the ETE shop and explained that they would charge me for a diagnostic check and if it took longer to find problem it would be a little more. In less than 3 hours they called me up that the car was ready... they found it so fast and were so honest about finding the problem. They only charged me for the towing and the initial diagnostics check we were ready to dish out $700-800. Only had to pay just over $200.They were fast cheap and honest. I wont take my car any where else... Seriously...
Had an issue with my Hondas exhaust, they came up with a workaround that saved me a lot of money while still able to pass emissions. The work was done sooner and cheaper than estimated, couldnt be happier with these guys. Great shop.

Im saying this from experience. We have been in business since July 15 2003 and the only remanufactured transmissions we install are from E.T.E. So thank you for All the friendly and even more important expert people. Thanks for so many Yrs service.
Took my car to ete mid January and when I got the the call over two (2) weeks later that my car was ready....get there to pick it up and my car had deep scratches on the rear end drivers side AND a cracked taillight. Was told that they share a parking lot with the car lot to the south and a building to the north of they building...ask abt the cameras and of course they claim they werent working(how convenient). After paying over $6000 for the work done on my car dont think using a sharedparking lot as an excuse for the damage done to my vehicle. if anyone is considering this company I advise to take pictures or video of your vehicle before handing your keys over!!!

Great customer service
In July 2019, I purchased a 2002 dodge Ram 1500 4x4 SLT 4 door crew cab with a 4.7L engine with 180,000 miles on it. The truck was in fine condition for its year and mileage. The body work had been done on the rust and the truck was repainted. It looked and ran beautifully and the interior was near perfect. In mid October I found myself with a compression issue in cylinder #2 - zero compression. I had the vehicle towed to ETE 27th St. When I first purchased the truck, it was my intention to, at some point, replace the engine with a reman. I bought this truck because I refuse to pay $28,000 plus interest for a used truck nor was I going to spend $50,000 on something brand new. The truck for me was going to be a sort of project truck. So I was prepared financially to replace the motor if it became necessary.I knew of ETE because my son had worked there some 20 years ago, and now, under new management for the last 12 years or so, I believe, I did some additional research on the business and found them to have a quality reputation.I was aware of the amount of money that would have to be invested to replace this motor, if it needed to be. and it did, indeed, need replacing. I needed to be sure I was dealing with professionals so I asked a ton of questions to see if I got the answers I expected. I met Oscar, who very professionally, and respectfully I might add, answered all of my questions including the novice (stupid) questions I had. Oscar went over the entire process with me so Id know what to expect in price and warranty and the time frame for replacement (quoted week to 10 days).I put down a deposit and gave the okay for Oscar and the crew at ETE to diagnose the problem and call me with recommendations - repair or replace. It turned out that a valve spring in #2 cylinder cracked dropping the valve/stem into the cylinder causing significant damage to the cylinder and head (not to mention the valve lol)- the engine would need to be replaced.The price quote to replace the motor was quite reasonable. So I gave the okay to replace the motor. This was Monday evening, when I gave the okay. The truck was towed to ETE on the previous Friday. Six days later, Thursday afternoon Oscar called to tell me the truck was finished. The balance due was about $600 UNDER the original quote (pleasant surprise). I picked the truck up on Friday morning and I am so pleased and impressed with how the engine runs that I cant say enough good things about my experience at ETE. I highly recommend ETE for your car/truck repair needs.Life can be stressful enough with daily challenges, but when life seems to take a dump on you it is reassuring to have professionals like those at ETE to lean on. My experience at ETE was pleasurable, professional and stress relieving. I now have a brand new truck (I had completely rebuilt the steering and suspension when I first bought the truck) and now, for less than $10,000.00, with no high monthly truck payment, with no interest and no high insurance bill I have close to a band new truck.Why pay $50,000 for a new truck or $28,000 for a used truck? Find yourself a reasonably good truck thats reasonably priced to start with and when the motor fails you put in a remaned-motor at ETE and save your self the high truck payments, interest and the high insurance bill that comes with a new/used truck.I cant thank the people at ETE enough for putting me back on the road, for treating me with respect and professionalism! Thanks ETE for all you did for me (and I apologize for the long-winded review). You are professional people that give peace of mind with great, honest, professional service. My last F150 transmission only went 40,000 miles before it failed. It was 6 months past the 3 years. So they wont cover it.
I have 2008 minivan and have worked with ETE for a couple years now, maybe 7-8 issues resolved. Transmission replaced with 36K mile warranty, wheel bearings, tie rods, etc.Vince, Damien and Co. at Waukesha Ofc have been impeccably honest, friendly, responsive and incredibly professional. They have also been competitive in their pricing. I am very glad to continue to do business with them. Just yesterday, I called them to get a quote on front disk brake pads and rotors and ETE was 10 % and 18% lower respectively than the two local competitive repair shops.

Awesome quality and service. I had a transmission replaced in my Ford Expedition last week for a reasonable price. When I took it home the check engine light went on. I called the next day and spoke with Jeff. He told me to bring it in and he’ll check it out. It turned out that my O2 sensor was triggering the light. I dropped it off a couple days later. When Jeff called me back, he said that he had to replace the sensor. He further explained that it was possible that it got damaged when the transmission was being installed, and that there was no charge for the replacement.Also, I replaced my breaks on it a few days before the transmission went to hell and didn’t install the caliper support spring correctly causing it to pop out. I asked Oscar to install it the right way he did so at no charge.Finally, my exhaust pipes were loose, when I got the Expedition back, the exhaust was nice and tight again.I will be the first to admit that when I have to take my vehical to a shop, I always feel I’m getting screwed somehow. Not with these guys. If I could have given them 10 stars, I would have.Their honesty, attention to detail, and excellent work is exemplory, but only the tip of the ice berg. Their mission is simple, SATISFIED CUSTOMERS.I’m really hoping I don’t need a Mechanic anytime soon, but if I do, I will be going back to ETE.Thank you Jeff and Oscar for making a painful situation far less painful!
Three weeks and 2000 dollars later they still havent fixed my car. Amazing.
Took my car in for an estimate and realized that it would cost 100 for that service. I was fine with that. They called after a day or so and said that a new engine was recommended to fix the problem properly. We said thank you but would be picking up my vehicle. When i looked at the paperwork it only mentioned the engine, not the suspension i asked them to diagnose. When i called to complain that i didnt receive the service i paid for i was told the technician left early and thats why my paperwork wasnt done. Seemed to me that they were only interested in the big ticket item and since i wasnt going with them, they forgo completing the service i paid for. I was informed that i could get the results of what i was looking for, but felt it was very poor customer service to not have the paperwork completed by management if an employee leaves early.

There is just something about these guys that i feel i can trust. between the reputable commercials on WISN(jay weber), my discussions and communications with them, the convenience, the nice thorough and clean work, i will continue to use ETE. TRUST is their biggest asset-without that, you have nothing. oh yeah, and their work is 2nd to none- keep up the good work guys-thanks
I was all bummed after being told at another shop that my truck had low compression in a cylinder and needed a new engine. I went to ETE to get a second opinion and a price quote on a new motor or rebuild. The service manager, Jeff, called the next morning and advised a tune up. My truck was misfiring badly when it was cold and once the engine warmed up it ran great. The tune up didnt help but Jeff told me he would continue to keep looking at it for just the cost of the tune up. Jeff kept my truck for a whole week looking at anything they could think of. Turns out the problem was old gas. I had the truck sitting for about a year and the gas had gone bad. Jeff even put a very expensive bottle of fuel injector cleaner in there for me at no cost. The truck did still misfire initially but after a couple weeks of dropping Chevron fuel cleaner and premium gas the truck ran great.Even though they looked at my truck everyday for a whole week Jeff still only charged me 277 dollars, the cost of the tune up, I was very happy. Not only was it a minor problem with my truck that was hard for three shops and myself to figure out but the cost was also extremely reasonable. I usually repair my car myself but if I ever run into a difficult situation again I will definetly return to Jeff and the guys at ETE.Thank you again Jeff it was greatly appreciated.....you made my year!
I unexpectedly blew my transmission in my f150 4x4 on a sunday night. I called around monday and found ETE offered the best price and warranty. of anyone in town.My truck was done on the day they said it would be done and returned to me clean, additionally they gave me a a great deal on a transfer case fluid change and front and rear differential fluid change. Also received a $50 discount on labor for being a AAA member.Truck runs and shifts like new again, . My only negative would be that they could probably use one more person helping on the phones to reduce the hold times when you call in. A minor detail though for an otherwise great experience!
