Delightful atmosphere, absolutely fabulous coffee. The layout was unique, warm, and inviting; fantastic place to grab a drink and breathe for a moment. The coffee was just wonderful, too. I had a Feeling Lucky (hot) and my boyfriend had the Nutty Irishman (chilled) that were both full of flavor and rich coffee taste. The employee was a delight, as well! Its a bit out of my way to visit, but Id happily make the trip again.
Coffee bomb Anyone? This is the place I get my fix thumbs up smiley face all that good stuff
Best tasting coffee and the baristas are freaking amazing!!!!! 10/10 recommend this place.
I love Rise and Grind! Coffee is great! The atmosphere when you come in is the best! Very welcoming! I will definitely return! This is my all time favorite coffee shop!
Drinks are always very well made and all the staff are very cool. 10/10.
Rolled in and asked for ‘something to melt my cup’… The staff delivered! Delicious, and probably the best foam of my life.
Full disclosure, I work here at Rise and Grind. Now that is out of the way I just have to say that I love this place! This is THE coffee shop to come to if you want to have somewhere that accepts you for exactly who you are, no matter what. The connection to the 12 step community is amazing, and I really love how we support local other Utah companies. (Like Pando Coffee)
This place is awesome. They are a huge help for recovery and addiction. I highly recommend going here for meetings.
The coffee is pretty wonderful, I highly recommend the Bagyra- lavender chai latte if thats your kind of thing! The service is great too
Stopped by from out of town and I was very impressed. Great spot
I like the gathering they have, I will continue to keep going, keep up the good work 👍
Coffee was decent. We just had to wait in the drive thru for almost 20 minutes after paying. We were the only ones in line. No apology for the long wait time either. Probably wont go again :(.
The coffee here was not good. We got unflavored lattes, and ugh! they were weak and tasted like sawdust? Or maybe wood? If the owners read this please change your beans. Couldn’t even finish the drink.
The force is strong with this coffee shop. Mo (moe?) was very kind to us from the moment we entered. This was our first visit so he explained their specialty drinks (awesome named and flavorful lattes) and other offerings you would find at other coffee shops. I ordered the snicker forker latte and it was forking great. I will be back for sure.
BY FAR the best coffee in the valley!! Totally order of the secret menu. The Jedi, Dark side, Drewzy.. All AMAZING
Honestly just started coming here im a manager at cubbys midvale so i love to stop in before work. The ladies make a mean dry cappuccino. Bone dry today :-) wow impressive.... i have been back again and again they are awesome they also do 12 STEP MEETINGS EVERY DAY i thought that was so cool!!!! Check it out!
Gucking Awesome place.
Great Coffee and other other drinks.A++Staff is always attentive, helpful, and positive.
I will try to be there every Saturday.. I really enjoyed the place as the coffee. I felt comfortable, welcome & happy. Thank youYes!! I do want to hang out😊
This place has great coffee, a lot of coffee and non coffee options, and a great atmosphere. They sell art and have games you can play or books you can read. They also have a comfy couch, plenty of tables, and outdoor seating. The service was fantastic and they have great names for their specially coffees. A must try!
I love this place! We went for the first time last July (2020) and we went the morning of our trip home. Big mistake. Wish we had found it the day we got there oh so good! The first time we had it I didn’t get to go in. Themis last weekend I went in twice!!! I love this place. The coffee to die for. The employee so nice. The company all around just good! Selling local art. Holding meetings for addictions (16 years for me) makes me happy. If they open one in my town (Boise) I will be a regular, they WILL get sick of me. Lol. I recommend the snicker F#£¥er (censored for google)
Coffee is amazing and will definetly make this a regular coffee shop i visit. They have a small but great Tea selection. They also have a redbull smoothie that taste amazing! Along with all the drinks they also have italian soda which taste great as well! The building is a bit grungy and dark but i love it and it makes a chill place to kick it while enjoying coffee. If you dont like going inside the building, theres a drive through but you have to honk your horn and hope someone hears it but i havent had a missed honk yet. They also help the community by hosting AA meetings but can be a tad annoying when the whole place is closed for it. All in all its in my top 3 favorite coffee places to visit here in utah.
Good Coffee, but I go there for the meetings on Thursday nights. THATS what will keep me coming back
Valerie is an absolute delight!
Good coffee, and service, but was greeted by a rather uninviting K-9, gave off a unwelcoming vibe
Top Notch coffee shop! Really nice that they give back to the community in the way they do also.
Fast and friendly service matched with the best iced coffee in town makes this coffee house one of my favorites.
Yummy coffee, great staff. Glad I found the place.
Great beverages! Awesome service. Mellow crowd.
Amazing establishment with amazing service and ownership. Also host a slew of AA, NA, and HA recovery meetings. Definitely a solid local business that gives back to its community.
I moved from Ogden area to South of the valley, I was looking for a great coffee shop and found one. I love how they do AA meetings there all the time and the staff is awesome. I find myself spending hours there just because it is so peaceful and enjoyable
The best espresso in the area!
Just ordered from here off door dash and the names they came up with for drinks is amazing. Feel kinda called out for ordering but i dont care this place is awesome
They have the BEST names for coffee drinks. I love that it is made on the spot so you can customize your order.
I would say Im in heaven even though Im going to hell Im glad I could taste a slice will be back again
Great coffee, great humans. Great atmosphere....all with a healthy dose of humility and accountability. Soul changing
1st time here. Very fast service and coffee was fantastic.
Good coffee. Friendly service. Cool art on the walls. Some interesting names of coffee on the secret menu :)
Great comfortable friendly place for a relaxing cup of joe or whatever. Coffee ☕ of all kinds or tea. Local patrons congregate and atmosphere is good. Ill go back.
Im not a Big Coffee Guy, but what I had was Tasty! And I feel the Energy and All Pistons Pumping! I just go for the Bonding of the AA group on Sunday. Thanks for hosting!I had the Baghyra(Vanilla,Chai,Lavender) with 1 Shot Expresso, it was great for a Non-Coffee dude!
Good place
So amazing! Had one of the best lattes of my life and Im not exaggerating. Went back as soon as I could and might just make this my go to local spot. Also really liked the art on the walls!!
I have watched this place flourish. AA meetings are the best. Jon and Tommy have upgraded the place, new stools, beautiful new lights. Hometown ambiance. Easy place to plug in to the internet and relax. Local art is great. Try it out.
I’m an artist that has had the most amazing experience with showing my work on the wall of Rise & Grind. For almost 2 years I have sold my work here. It’s a great environment and has great coffee. I recommend it for anyone who likes good vibes and can relax with friends.
The Mocha tasted crafted. Not artificial or mixed from a bag pulled from a fridge. Sooo good.
I live the meetings they offer!!!
Great coffee and N.A. meetings.
Great people smells good and very clean
Great coffee. The barista did a fantastic job and knows his trade well! Slayed it!
Great Coffee Shop!
My experience:1. 2 separate individuals coming and going in their own time, expressing sincere friendship for another shop patron with the audible, ‘I love you’. From their tone and sincerity I felt the ever-elusive, real, man to man, ‘I got your back, your family and your dog, come hell or high water’ kind of friendship.2. A picture of a beautiful young woman and a puzzle on the wall, built through loss, with LOVE.3. A mindful store employee graciously turning the radio volume down when asked and then courteously adjusting lower when he noticed me making sales calls for work.4. Really good tea with just the right amount of ice to save me the 15 minute waiting game.
I love their coffee and the way they served. I recommend it. Very nice place to hangout with friends and family.
Lots of variety, cozy atmosphere. Loved the red coffee; I am pretty sure it is just rooibos, but it is delicious nonetheless. There is a huge list of specialty drinks, so if you love to try something new each visit there are plenty of reasons to return. They even take steps to personalize to you a little. Love it!
I do not plan to return to this place. The customer service was deplorable. As I walked in, I was questioned about buying a drink which was unprofessional. I felt unwelcomed. The young lady who made my drink had an open conversation about smoking weed with a customer. I requested a green tea latte, and it was gross. This place cannot be called a coffee house without an up to para tea assortment. I took a drink and trashed the rest. The site was not clean, and the staff permits its customers to let their dog running around unleashed. The first thing I did when I got home, took a shower and washed the clothes I was wearing.
Their secret menu is awesome and what Ive tried tastes great. They have a friendly staff. The walls are covered with local art. Dinging it one star because I didnt care for their basic drip coffee. Couches are awesome and if you need a fun place to chill, this is it.
The barista chose my coffee for me when I asked her too and it was super delicious! She was also very sweet and patient! ☺
Over the dozen or so times Ive been here I have found that this is just an unreliable business. Sometimes its a good experience, others not so much. I dont even mind the apathetic, unprofessional, and generally disengaged customer service from the staff... Its kind of a throwback to the coffee shops of the 90s that I used to visit when I was a kid. The problem here is that of the many times Ive given this business a try, the coffee has never came out tasting good, the prices are on the higher side, and certain staff members are a little too much to take. Like I said, I dont need my rear end to be kissed, but when I have to stand outside the front door and wait for a staff member to finish their cigarette so the front door can be unlocked and my order to be taken, all during business hours mind you, then that apathetic charm loses its appeal. Today I went through the drive-thru at 8 a.m. and the entire place was closed and locked. No employees inside, no lights on. Did this place get shut down or condemned? Or do they just keep hiring employees that dont care about showing up to work? I think today was the last straw with me and Rise & Grind Coffee. Which is sad, because I would rather support a local business than a chain store, but at this point I feel like theyve made my decision for me.
Absolutely amazing customer service
A good place to sit and chill, fun drinks that are well made and interesting, good black coffee!! There are 12 step meetings almost every night of different groups, if youre looking for a safe and sober coffee shop to hang out at, this is an excellent place.
I loved the atmosphere here! Met here as a half way between Ogden and Eagle Mountain and its totally worth the drive! Will definitely be hitting this place up again 😍 I got the Bagyra, much yum 🖤
The best coffee and atmosphere! Awesome staff!
They have red espresso! Very friendly. Locally owned and run by a couple brothers and father. Very good coffee. If you are looking for cool local art check out the walls.
Absolutely gorgeous interior compared to the exterior. A mixture of nerdy space movie stuff in the menu and on the walls. The open concept with the tables around the edge and the floor open in the middle was really refreshing for me. The two coffees I had were reasonably price and despite the thermometer not working the barrista got the temp of the milk close, but just a bit too watery. Even the second one, from a different barrista, was equal to the first. Great conversation!
Super Cozy Remodel and the Staff is Very Friendly Too, I am thinking it has a New Owner or New Management. Seating is Comfortable and the Prices are Very Reasonable. It seems to attract a more sophisticated and friendly crowd than some of the other coffee shops in the area. Everything is Clean and the Staff is Attentive when you are at the Counter which is Lacking at a lot of other Places. The Breakfast Sandwiches are Surprisingly Good and I find myself stopping just for them sometimes. I am Comfortable taking my Kids who are 5, 12 and 14 and they Love the Hot Chocolate. Great place to unwind for 20 minutes after work before I hit home.
Local art on every surface, nice atmosphere, great coffee, and the custom drink I always order at coffee shops is just plain on The menu. Also right next to the Belgian waffle. Inn- go there after 9 or 10 and get a $4 Cinnamon roll the size of your head to go with your coffee.
Best coffee, customer service and Vibe.
Decent coffee but the barista seemed pretty put out. I guess taking my order AND making my drink was a lot.I never went back because, really, who needs to feel like a burden so early in the morning, before that very important first dose of caffeine? I didnt exactly want to be there either. A friendly smile, or even a modicum of politeness wouldve gone far.
Since moving to Utah a year ago, this has been always our go to place for coffee and for good reason. To start off the service and professionalism at this place is just spot on. The baristas are really dedicated to perfecting your drink and the huge selection of specialty drinks that they offer is creative, delicious and .... just what every other coffee drink out there should be striving for. This has always been the case for the past year, but what really got me here to write a review was the first time I ever had a slightly less than perfect experience, the general manager was quick to get in touch to address all my concerns which he did perfectly. Professionalism and dedication at its best and its clearly on display in everyone in this business and it’s products.
Coffee is amazing. The owner is THE BEST. They allow a certain group of people to feel at home and welcome.
These people love coffee and it shows. Great menu with a variety of drinks with fun names. Good hours.
Love this place. I’ve lived nearby the coffee shop for sometime and it’s always been a place of bliss and comfort for me. It’s become part of my life. The staff are all really fun and friendly people. I love the environment and the art on the walls.
Good coffee, comfortable atmosphere, and relaxing. A little smaller than I thought but works. Definitely worth coming to if youre tired of the busyness of lame Starbucks.
Great people great service.
Schedule for AA and CMA meetings were not accurate. Call in advance. Might be because Covid-19
The best coffee and service. The flavors are amazingly creative. Every coffee ive had has been SO SO FABULOUS!!!I have to have my rise and grind fix 7 and definitely more times a week.
Very hip local coffee house. Staff were polite & adorable. Coffee was great & have fantastic names.
Id give them full stars except the furniture needs to be updated, especially the couches. My drink was delicious absolutely perfect, the coffee master was polite quick and welcoming. I did find that their customers this day were all rather obnoxious, innapropriate conversation that were too loud, I had to leave even though I was wearing headphones. I recommend for their drinks but not to hang out for a prolonged period of time. I wish I could give them 4.5 stars.
Fun adult coffee shop. They have couches and bookshelves for relaxed reading. I really enjoyed the coffee and the secret menu names are hilarious! I didnt test the wifi, but it is free.
I went to the Redeye in search of a new caffeine supplier and to hang out with a bunch of my friends who frequent the place. The atmosphere is sort of New Age. There is quite a bit of art on the wall, most of it original I believe. I got an iced, vanilla latte. Now at most other coffee places, I order 2 extra shots so that I can taste the coffee. But here, the drink already comes with 3 shots. Now, none of this matters if it doesnt taste good. But dont worry. I watched everything that went into the cup. Real milk and cream, coffee, and vanilla syrup. Thats it. It was delicious.
Tasty coffee and good conversation, what could be better? Alternative drinks with an indie alternative theme! Grungy, a little dark, and a nice atmosphere. The only thing is the armchairs and couches are a bit worn and faded. But that does help with making them comfy!
Cool place to hang out or get some work done. Very relaxed and good coffee.
There are few places that I review, so that Im doing one for Red Eye means something to me. They are more than just a coffee shop. They are a contributing member of the local community. They have the most friendly staff and great coffee. Thank you for all yo give back to the community you serve....forever a faithful customer.
Amazing coffee, staff, and great prices. Very vibed out environment
Friendly staff. Do wish they would get the drive through alert working again, because sometimes they don’t hear the honk for a minute. They make a great almond latte. Which I am nervous to order at many places because they tend to taste burned.
Really cute coffee place across the street where my dad went to high school, so I felt like I was seeing a little bit of history when I went there. The coffee shop itself is very small. Its basically just one little room. The menu is on a chalkboard and is pretty straightforward, but the secret menu seems to be the shining gem of this place. Its secret, but its really not because, well, its literally right on the wall in front of you. But the secret menu options are super quirky and interesting sounding and make for a better-than-average flavored coffee. The coffee didnt have a bitter, burnt taste here, which tends to be what I experience in some other shops. It was hot so I got iced coffee with almond milk and it ended up being a cheap $2.Id come back to try the secret menu for sure!
It is and has been the best place for me to go and chill and meet with good friends for going on almost 4 years now. And the coffee is fantastic too.
I LOVE coffee. Im a barista so Im what you can call a coffee snob. No shame in it! Enjoyed the atmosphere here very much! Only reason for a four star review is because their menu didnt tell me what was in the drinks, so I just picked one. But it was good!
You make friends, share experiences, and get advice from folks whove lived things.
Good tasting coffee, but most are just loaded with sugar and are too sweet. They close the shop frequently to host AA meetings. Its really annoying that the coffees dont have any descriptions and are a little pricey, so there is no incentive to take a chance on trying a new one. We have nearly stopped going.
Amazing. The barista inspired fun conversation and encouraged me to try a new drink. I was delightfully surprised. The coffee is beyond perfect. I highly recommend you go out of your way to make a stop here.
NASTY is the word that comes to my mind after my 1st and last visit here. I got a straight black coffee with half & half, nothing special or hard. It hands down was the worst coffee that Ive had. It was weak, watery, and bland. McDonalds sadly makes a better $1 coffee. They had only ONE item to eat (Premade oatmeal cups) and we came around 8:30am. No pastries, donuts, bagels, nothing! Them also having a drink called White Privilege is a tad off putting.
Decent atmosphere, great menu, but dead silence doesn’t do them any favors. Staff isn’t very friendly and there’s never any music on.
Not the most polished and seemed a little thrown together. The old, sagging, mismatched furniture made the place feel sad. They also didnt having music playing which just seemed awkward.
Quirky spot with reliable Italian coffee. Nice break from the cuteness of Starbucks and Beans & Brews. Great furniture for hanging out. Only knock is Id rather have a locally sourced coffee. But if youre gonna go mass produced, you can do worse than Lavazza.
Great coffee but, its a great place to meet to have a conversation.
This was my first (and last) visit to Red Eye. With the intent to grab a coffee at a local shop, I drove past a couple chain shops to this one. I drove to the drive-up window, and as the sign instructed, I honked for service.I could clearly see a guy with his back to the window, didn’t even move when I honked. I waited for another minute, saw a few others in the shop and honked again. Still nothing.Needless to say, we left after a few minutes and spent our money at Beans & Brews, where we were quickly served. This is just my initial experience, take it for what it’s worth.
This is simply the best place for coffee in the Salt Lake valley. The drinks are unbeatable and the service is second to none. Dave and Nancy, the owners, know all of their customers. They have put together the coolest little coffee shop you will ever have the pleasure of finding. Its kind of like the show Cheers, but a coffee shop.
Good service and great coffee!
