My daughter has learned a lot from this organization. They have also taught her discipline, respect and how to be a valuable leader.

My son Connor has been training with TXBBA for 4 1/2 years. He started when he was 10. At the time he was very shy and did not exude a lot of self-confidence. TXBBA provides discipline, but where Ive really seen Connor grow is in his self-confidence - which is evident in his personal karate training, in school, and now as an instructor through the TXBBA CIT (Certified Instructor Training) program. Hes developed valuable life skills that will help him for the rest of his life. He currently holds a first degree black belt and is working towards a 2nd degree black belt. I never would have guessed that 4 1/2 years ago, when we began this journey, that Connor would be standing on the mat in front of adults, his peers, and lower ranked students as an instructor. Now, when he helps the master instructors on the mat, he lights up. I know that every family has financial limitations, but I believe karate is worth the investment because the dividends will pay off for years to come. When we signed our 5yr old up for Lil Dragons he was shy around new people, large groups, would get upset and cry. Since then he has grown tremendously. His confidence is up, he listens better, he helps more around the house without having to tell him or ask him 100x. We are very pleased with EVERYONE at TXBBA. Thank you for all that you do for all ages!

Our family loves TXBBA Midlothian. The transformation we’ve seen in our boys is incredible. They’re becoming leaders right in front of our eyes. Mr. Hash is a phenomenal instructor! He’s knowledgeable, patient, firm and kind. Our boys absolutely adore him and he is such a great role model for the kids! We are so happy to be part of such an awesome karate family!

We had my sons 12th birthday party here. It was an awesome party, and every one of the kids had a blast!

My son enjoys being in a class that consistently provides positive reinforcement. Master Sean and the other teachers provides a good environment for the kids to learn and have fun!!

Giant money grab. Have to enter a contract, have to buy gifts, have to buy patches, have to buy belt advancements at $60 a test. Constantly shilling this activity or that for mo money mo money mo money.Id recommend you keep looking for another school.

We love TX Black Belt Academy and Mr Buie. Our youngest son earned from white belt to black belt with Mr Buie 10 years ago. Now, our grandson just earned his yellow belt - following in his uncle’s footsteps. We decided that TX Black Belt Academy would make a great Christmas and birthday present instead of toys that never get played with! Best decision!

Great school with food teachers who care about the students.

Can’t say enough good things about TXBBA Midlothian! We started in the summer of 2017 and the school is consistently organized, staff is professional and friendly, and their program is excellent. Since starting my son has become more respectful and well mannered. The school makes sure that parents and students are always informed on events at the school and criteria for the next belt level. Would highly recommend to anyone intersted in martial arts.

We love Master Buie, Master Andersen, and the classes at TX Black Belt Academy Midlothian! Our daughter is so excited about earning her next belt rank and really looks forward to each class!

My son has attended TXBBA since the age of three as a little dragon. He is now almost seven years old and has prompted through the ranks and is now in the Leadership program. He is extremely close to achieving his goal of a black belt. It is great to see a dojo full of kids learning to be self confident and learning the meaning of respect.

Updated review: BEWARE OF SIGNING A CONTRACT!!!!!! Especially for long term leadership 3 year contract. If your child loses interest in it after 2 years they wont let you out of it. And even when you are moving over 25 miles from studio you signed up with you still have to jump thru hoops. Not sure why they feel this is a good business practice. We will see how the meeting goes after they get proof of new address not close to the studio. I will update this review reflecting how they deal with it!

Wonderful people and the attention showed to the kids is Amazing

Dont sign up!! Bait and switch at its finest! Wade Buie worked with me the first session and got me to sign a contract. Next 4 classes Im on the floor with nothing but children! Had a highschool kid instructing the class, and he didnt know what he was doing. One session I was told to train with a 12 year old girl, that was terrible! I then tried to cancel and they wouldnt let me. Said I was forced to pay $125 a month for the next year! Cancelled my credit card on file and still charged me. Then they wouldnt refund the money. Terrible business practice, and terrible experience with Wade. I would advise the anyone to try the other academy in town, with a real MMA fighter. Dont waste your time or money with Wade!!

This dojo has been such a blessing to our family. Master Buie and Anderson went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and part of the TXBBA family. My son has significant issues with attention, transitions, and trying new things. Yet, this is the one program that he doesn’t have issue with. They helped him transition into this new program, fit in, and feel part of TXBBA. He’s not only learning martial arts, but character, life, and social skills. They also offer tons of special activities for students to participate in. If that’s not enough, they reach out into the community to serve the needs of children and families. So thankful for TXBBA.

Our 7 year old son has been taking classes at TXBBA for a year and a half, and he still loves it as much as he did the first day he attended a Bully Workshop with Mr. Buie. He has always struggled with paying attention and following directions, so we were skeptical at first. Within a month, we had seen such an improvement in him, and he had noticed it in himself as well. He went from getting bad marks at school to having excellent behavior everyday. Mr. Anderson is the head instructor and he is PHENOMENAL with all the kids. We love Mr. Anderson, and Mr. Buie! We have a 3 year old who is anxiously awaiting to turn 4 so he can start his road to becoming a black belt with TXBBA.
