Plenty of efficient staff on hyperdrive (it must be the sugar) at the counter and they keep the line moving FAST! We got a mixed 1/2 dozen - Boston cream, Oreo, Samoa, Key Lime, Raspberry Filled and Iced French Cruller. Donuts were a fluffy @ss dream, amazing sweet aroma and nice, yeasty flavor — with subtle sweet frosting. IMHO, great donuts shouldnt rely on frosting or glaze to make or break it. Just saying. The donuts are delicious, and a fresh, FAST experience. Will return, would recommend. :) :) :) :) 4 smiles

I stopped in to grab some donuts from Neils Donuts this morning. There is a fairly constant, steady flow of people going in and out, which means this place was very busy, however, it wasnt crowded because almost as fast as someone would enter, somebody else would be leaving. I felt like the staff was very efficient and they were all engaged with their work.The drive thru had a steady flow of people too.The donuts were pretty good. I had a Boston Cream. The donut was two halves with the cream sandwiched in between. The cream was yellow, which was o.k., but I was really hoping for a white cream filling. I purchased a donut for my daughter too. She got one with Vanilla frosting and sprinkles. The sprinkles only cover one side, which she says is normal. She liked her donut as did my wife type individual enjoy her Boston Cream.Overall, I liked my donut and I will go here again to try a different kind some time in the future...

Now that the dust has settled and the lines are no longer huge, it may safely be written: these are the best donuts.Their donut selection is playful, creative, unexpected. Do yourself a favor and get a full dozen, and be aggressive about trying styles you havent had before. Its REALLY REWARDING.Compared to Dunkin, these baked goods are much less oily, and much more balanced in their flavors. (Not sickeningly sweet.)Just be mindful that theyre closed Mondays. Its natural to want to start your week with Neils, but I want to save you the heartbreak of pulling up to locked doors 💔

My Everything bagel, Bacon Egg & Cheese sandwich was amazing. Super simple, affordable, and delicious. My only issue is that I didnt get another one. Also you have to try the maple doughnut and their Boston creme is so heavy its like getting 3 doughnuts from anywhere else. The birthday cake and key lime ones were also fantastic. Will always stop here on my vacations.

Got to love Neils Donuts!! I think that they are one of the best donut places around, not even in the same category as any of these corporate coffee shops. So much better...I know there are probably a few other donut shops around or bakeries that are good but Neils is amazing ...their donuts and coffee rolls are to die for.

Visiting from Vermont. Niece brought us to Neils Donut. Loved loved the taste. Wish we had one here in Montpelier Vermont. Every time I see Dunkin Donuts I think of the donuts from Neils. What a gem.

So many awesome looking donuts to try but the ones I bought look better than they taste. The chocolate eclair looking donut was over flowing with bright yellow lemon filling, the blueberry crumb donut was lacking flavor, and the Reeses peanut butter crumb donut had a very thick and flavorless creme on top to keep the Reeses in place. Cute small business so Ill definitely stop by again to try other things from their menu.

Came in on a Saturday morning at 6:30am, place was already busy. There were plenty of staff working, and the drive thru appeared to be busy as well. This is one of the few local places that has coffee before 7am (which is a weird and annoying struggle for early workers).New storefront is clean and bright, counters were clean, staff were masked and tidy.Since I was getting a dozen donuts for family, I made a list of donuts (with alternates) the night before. They had everything we needed with one exception, powdered lemon, which they said wasnt being made this season. We also got 4 coffees.As I said before, this is a busy place, reminds me of tiny bakeries I used to visit on vacation at the shore: fast moving, speaking loudly at the same time as others, crowded. Best advice is to make a plan first!My favorites were the glazed crueller and the French vanilla crueller, my boyfriends war the maple frosted. My family couldnt pick a favorite, but got vanilla buttercream, coconut cream, and Blueberry cake.

Starting to question my own reality. How does Neil’s have so many good reviews? Every time I’ve been I’ve sworn to myself I will not return. Breakfast sandwich is dry on a hard roll. Iced coffee is over creamed and watery. Donuts are average they aren’t any better than Dunkin’ Donuts. If you want a good donut. Hands down you have to check out Blazing Fresh Donuts in Guilford. They’re not in Middletown but I’ll tell you what, they actually make an insane donut!

Came to Neils Donuts for the vegan options that are also just classics and they did not disappoint! Some donuts may be accidentally vegan but its incredibly appreciated that they are noted as vegan.We got there around 8 am on a Sunday and they did have a small line out the door but it seemed long because of distancing due to COVID and moved quick. While I didnt go in my husband did mention how efficient everything seemed inside and how great the employees were! I was also worried about missing out on certain donuts but it wasnt an issue at all, and my husband said it seemed like they were still making donuts when he went in!Cant wait to visit again, its scheduled into our monthly Outlet trip now 😋🍩

My neighbor has been raving for months, so I finally got there to try it for myself. Well what a surprise. I fully expected a Krispy Kreme vibe. Uh NO.. Not the case at all. The vibe is not that of a huge chain, but more of a cool uncle or aunt that wants to share what he or she loves with everyone.The variety is above measure. Now to the good stuff:The parking can be challenging when it is busy. The shop itself is clean and inviting. Properly prepared for social distancing. The color scheme is fresh.The staff is very quick and servers seem vested in making sure everyone is served and quickly. Food is plentiful and worth the price. I am a self proclaimed foodie and it was a bit much for me to handle.Definitely on the revisit list.

I stopped in yesterday for a few treats.. here’s what I think... coffee was yummy! (I got the coco mint.) Sausage Breakfast sandwich on a wheat bagel was on point. I also grabbed some muffins, a cinnamon, pistachio and cranoragne - all very good and not too heavy. Lastly I couldn’t go without picking up a box of a dozen donuts. I am a big strawberry frosted fan, but was disappointed with these... it tasted like confectionary sugar dyed pink... the glazed and chocolate glazed/frosted however were so yummy - fresh and not too heavy.I went around 930a on a Saturday... There was a little social distancing - but people were eager, thankfully plenty and of space to move away from people. They kept the crowd moving which I was thankful for and every staff member knew exactly what they were doing as were completing their jobs friendly and efficiently. 🍩😍🍩😍🍩

Best donuts around! We used to drive 30 minutes to the Wallingford location but the new Middletown location is much closer and has a drive-thru. Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious and the donuts are amazing. Highly recommend them if you are in the area.
