I was recently in need of urgent eye care and their office was quick to schedule me even though they were very busy at the time. Once there I only waited five minutes before a very nice technician assessed my issue. Five minutes later Dr. Kelley appeared with a diagnoses and explained my “get well” plan in detail. I had a very hard time getting my glasses. I said from the very beginning that they were too strong, but it fell on deaf ears. Then they broke my frames and offered to get me new frames, but I would have to pay again if I wanted lenses that actually fit into them. I started the process in July, and finally have glasses 3 months later....albeit too strong, but at least they fit the frame. Then I wrote a letter to the owner of the practice, Dr. Collins, voicing my frustrations and never heard from him. Interesting way to do business.

As usual, my annual visit to the office of Dr. Collins was well organized, timely and complete. There was no wasted time between the moment I entered the office until the time I departed. The staff members were polite and efficient and answered all my questions. Dr. Collins was timely and informative and I left the office completely satisfied.

Always have a great experience at my appointments. Staff is great and there is never a wait to see Dr. Kelley. On this trip I had bee prescribed some eyedrops as my eyes have been irritated for months. Picked them up and within a day they were back to normal - what a relief. Great office!

After experiencing a significant change in my vision, I was able to get an appointment on the day that I called. I was seen with no waiting, and received exemplary service from the admitting assistant and the doctor. There was literally nothing that could have been any better, from the technical expertise of the staff and the utmost care and respect with which I was treated. I wish there were six stars allowed on this survey!

Was on vacation, from CT and needed a follow up exam on an injured cornea. Was concerned about getting in somewhere fast, even with my doctors referral to the facility. But, no problem! The staff was helpful and courteous and the doctor who examined me was top notch. All around great experience that didn’t impeded our vacation plans.

Professional and efficient staff that makes your exam visit a pleasant experience. The exam process entails two rooms of testing by the technicians then the exam by your doctor all done in an orderly manor with verbal communication on what is being performed

Do not go here. They do not respect or appreciate their patients. I have gone here for years and will never be going back or my family. I had an appointment and was going to be 15 minutes late due to being stuck in traffic due to an accident. I called them as soon as I knew and 15 minutes before my scheduled time. They told me they only could wait 10 minutes not 15 for me. I explained to them where the accident was, that it was out of my control, and that it was 5 more minutes than their 10 minute rule. I also explained that I work an hour away and had already driven 45 minutes to be there on time. They did not care and told me I had to reschedule. I work in the healthcare industry and have never seen a place treat a longterm customer this way. Not caring about their time or schedule. It was five minutes, I called ahead, I had driven 45 minutes to be there on time already just for them to tell me to turn around. Do not go here. You will just be treated as a number. Not a human. They clearly do not care about their patients or that circumstances happen sometimes that are out of their control.

Dr Collins put me at ease. He is very professional and explained the cataract surgery. The entire staff is friendly and they really know their business.

No complaints about the exam or staff. Prices are a bit on the high side, would recommend you have insurance or a discount plan. Also be careful about missing an appt, they will hit you with a $40 bill.

Poor customer service at desk. The people who work fitting the glasses are very pleasant, however.They charge unnecessary fees which are not covered by insurance. They seem to be more concerned with ability to charge these fees than the well-being of their clients.

This place is great. My family and I were visiting from New Jersey for our annual vacation trip. On the first morning, I realized I did not pack enough contacts for the trip and got really nervous. I went to multiple eye doctors who said they could not get the contacts in time. Finally, I called this place and they said that if me doctor faxed my prescription, they might be able to help. When my doctor finally faxed my prescription, they helped me right away and got me what I needed quickly. The person who helped me was named Mary and was excellent. They were more helpful the my eye doctor. They helped me tremendously.

After my exam with Dr. Collins, which is always with competent care, I saw someone at the eyeglass canter for repairs to my sunglasses. She was very helpful. It was a pleasure working with her. A few days later I returned, as one of the arms on my regular glass had broken. Again. Excellent, caring care from the other woman at the center. Excellent!

I wasn’t going to write a review but unfortunately my conscience would not leave me alone. I went for an examine last week and I have to honestly say I did not find the office, equipment or staff taking enough precautions for my safety during this covid pandemic. The person giving the examine could not keep her mask from coming down off her nose and kept pulling it up. The machine was not clean and had visible smudges and dust had accumulated where you place your chin and lean forward to read the letters. She did not wear gloves at anytime during the examine. I kept my mask on but I left with a very uneasy feeling. I never saw anyone use hand sanitizer. Nor did I see any for public use.

This was one of the best experiences of my life!Everyone at Eye Care For RI was very friendly & professional (they really seem to love what they do). They are extremely well organized & everything is scheduled out to the minute (when a snowstorm was forecasted for the date of my surgery, they even called me to move my surgery time up! Now that’s Service!).Dr. Collins explained everything in detail & was extremely reassuring of his capabilities regarding my cataract surgery. He is an extremely compassionate Dr. with exceptional relational skills.And the best part; he did exactly what he said he would - he restored my eyesight!I can not recommend Eye Care For RI or Dr. Collins enough!!!Todd Oneto

This office is the most pleasant well run office I have ever visited. Patients run through his busy office with graceful flow. Dr Collins cares for his patients and its obvious his staff reflects his caring image. It is rare to find this in the medical field.

Doctor is good, but I will never buy glasses from them again. Ordered four pair of reading glasses, two copies each of two different frame styles. When told it would be $900 for the glasses, I figured not too bad for four pair. But when I arrived to pick the glasses up, I was told that I ordered one of each frame, and that it would be another $900 for two more. In other words, the original salesperson just flat-out lied to me. So I just paid $450 a pop for reading glasses. Wont make that mistake again.

For the first time since my cataract surgery I have 20/20 vision, now on to the other eye for surgery. The doctors and staff are always very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend the office.

Was seen at exactly the appointment time. Was able to update my prescription (both glasses and contact lenses) as well as purchase glasses.

Dr Kelley and the entire staff at Eye Care for RI provided great, personable and professional experience for the whole family for the several years we were stationed in Newport. And I think we put them to the full test from bringing in my one-year-old to rule out a concern to doing full eye exams with my two kiddos that have autism. Would definitely recommend them.

From check in to check out the staff were friendly and professional. They took the time to explain the procedure and Dr. Kelley was thorough and spoke to me during my exam. It is definitely a patient based practice and I am glad I transferred to their practice.

I saw Dr. Kelly after several years of multiple exams with numerous providers, new prescriptions and new glasses - none of which seemed to improve my increasing vision issues. Dr. Kelly was efficient, friendly, and very empathetic to my growing frustration with poor vision, and recommended changes to my prescription (less strong rather than more strong) that have radically improved my vision. It will never be perfect due to early cataracts (which he also was the first to diagnose) but it it is certainly a vast improvement to what it was. The entire office was was helpful and professional - I highly recommend their practice!

Not a place that is handicap friendly. Everything is stationary except chairs which are on wheels making it very dangerous for handicap patients. Rooms are as small as you average bathroom. Staff seem friendly enough. Will not be going back
