I would honestly give them negative stars if I could. The customer service is HORRIBLE. I went in to purchase a wig. This being my first time, I asked for assistance and was told no, to pick one and he would see if it was in stock. After trying on a couple in one isle, I found two that I liked, but wanted a third option. I asked the older gentleman (heavy set with glasses) if they were in stock, and if so, how much? I said While you look for them Im going to go to the next isle and look. He said NO! You cant try on anymore wigs. I was taken aback and asked Really???. He said Yes! I said I was trying to support you because you are a black owned business. However, I refuse to spend my money where Im not treated with respect. You have just lost a customer! I paid for the wig cap I used and left. I will never shop there again. NEVER!

Never really had an issues here. The store is unusually compact with items almost making it impossible to get up and down the isles. I feel like theyd do alot better with a major overhaul in their inventory. For things that arent selling, maybe store them neatly in the back somewhere? I suppose with a store so crowded they would feel like they need to keep an eye on people, which you want folks to feel welcome... but do businesses even read these reviews anyways? What do I know? Im just a customer...

This is a rare black-owned beauty supply store! They have everything that you may need or want for your natural textured hair that you will not find at the local walmart or drug stores in the area. The store is small and jam packed tight with supplies.

Horrible. I asked the lady nicely for a certain type of hair and she continued to give me the wrong one. All my experiences there, they made me feel stupid. Reading the reviews I agree hold heartedly to the 1 star reviews. The business would lose customers if another hair store was built. This is utterly ridiculous. I drive all the way to Bear or Wilmington, so I can get better hair and better well everything !

Dont know about everyone else experience during their visit but my experience was great I had no problems nor complaints during my last visit., well shock and all my products questions were answered.

I found Newtown Hair & Beauty Supply to be an organized, clean, well-stocked, comparatively-affordable black-owned black haircare supply store. I drove from Bala Cynwyd (Philadelphia) for it; but, hoping it would be worth it. I gleefully asked the African woman at the register if this was a black-owned business. The woman suspiciously, then coldly affirmed that it was. Normally, I would want to come again, to support it. Instead, after my purchase, l walked out deflated, not wanting to patronize/support the offbeat, unprofessional behavior l encountered. Supporting any business is personal. No matter the color/cultural background, its a stretch for me to repeatedly deal with anyone that l dont have to, whether business or personal. Visiting friends in Middletown, back in 2019, brought me back to the store. This time I met the actual owner, (a male) who is very kind and friendly. I purchased approximately $60 worth of goods and left satisfied. Still, I wouldnt go back, unless necessary. Black businesses, whether African, African-American or Caribbean could benefit from giving the customer service they themselves want to receive.

Customer service was great.They dont have everything you would need.It seems like the turnover rate for hair is slow because the hair texture I wanted felt old and brittle.

This store is very compact and yet does not have many options in terms of variety of hair or products. A lot of the products have dust baked into the bottles and the prices are higher compared to the typical hair store. The woman there is pretty rude. She followed me around that cramped store as if I wanted to steal something. I try my hardest not to go to this store. Oh lets not forget they are always on the phone.Only good thing is that its located in Middletown

The cashier was really helpful. He explained that there is an error with the google directions and drivers are sent to the entrance of the construction company across Broad Street instead of in the shopping mall.

This is the worst beauty supply store. It is not deserving of even one star. Many of the products on the shelves are expired. The hair stold in the store is horrible. The man that works there is a creep and a fool, he will pressure you to buy hair knowing he has a terrible return policy; the hair selections are minimal. The store is overly cluttered, however hair products are very limited. I will NEVER in my natural life purchase hair from this clown store again. Save your money and go to Beauty Max.

Ive been buying hair from this place for the past 4 years. The owner knows me and my family pretty well, due to our continued business. My family and I have strongly decided to no longer purchase anything from this hair supply store. I swear the owner makes up prices for his items, and most of the time I never know what to expect once i use the hair. I honestly believe he repackages hair and sells it again. DONT EVER GO TO THIS HAIR STORE! Its not WORTH the money, at all!

Went there to purchase a wig, the store is small and cramped. I wish there was another store in my area. The selection was not great and they were a bit overpriced. What I did not like was being followed and watched like a common thief. Im a woman of a particular age and would like to shop and make up my mind without being watched like a hawk.

The lady cashier welcomed me and did offer help. The store is very cramped and overwhelming. The prices for the wigs seems reasonable to overpriced. I can’t speak for the other products. The selection of hair is kind of a joke. I swear half the products didn’t have a name brand on them lol idk where they came from.She told me the wig part of the store closes at 6:30 and the store closes in 5 mins. The store closes at 7pm and there was no one in the store and the time was 6:45. I was trying to buy something before they closed but after she told me that i was upset and decided to leave. That’s not good customer service. I won’t be back. I needed help and she basically rushed me out the store. Karma is a b* because she had customers come in after me. She need as many as she can get with this ridiculous store and bad customer service.

DISGUSTINGLY RUDE!!! I will NEVER step foot in there again! These people are flat out rude & disrespectful..Their behavior towards customer is the exact OPPOSITE of a store that actually wants to earn business. Its disgusting that they consider themselves business owners and treat their customers like shoplifters. Theyve certainly lost my business. Smh never giving them another PENNY.
