I was told by my mechanic that Id need to consider a new transmission soon. Then my car broke down. I took it to AAMCO expecting to need a transmission replacement or rebuild, preparing to spend 5 thousand dollars, and I told them as much. After inspecting the car they told me I just had a few wires and connections loose and the car is running very well now. I was charged for 2 hours of labor and no parts. Its a very good thing when you find an honest mechanic who does good work. I highly recommend. Thank you AAMCO Middletown.

I was so blessed to find such honest person. When I called Ammco I was convinced by another place that my transmission wasn’t working. He could’ve charged me anything “to fix my transmission” but instead he explained that is likely that the transmission just needed maintenance. He did the maintenance at very reasonable price. I brought in my 2011 Chrysler Town & Country Limited Van for a few issues and Aamco in Middletown (Brian, Luis, & company) fixed them all: Transmission fluid leak, check engine light (thermostat), and the BIG one: my air conditioning had stopped working last year due to a rear evaporator leak... these vans are notorious for this issue with the a/c and gaining access to fix it is extremely time-consuming and involves taking apart so much of the inside rear of the van that its something only to be done by the professionals. I have cold air again and am looking forward to being able to keep my kids cool this summer!! My check engine light is off and has stayed off! They also fixed a small, but noisy, exhaust leak that I discovered after picking up my van...at no charge which I truly appreciate!!

I found Brians Aamco of Middletown about 3 years ago when looking to get a complete transmission fluid and filter service on my older vehicle. I wanted to take it to a fully equipped shop that specialized in transmissions, even though there was nothing wrong with the transmission. It just required fluid service based on mileage. I was worried about the possibility of causing a problem where there was none. Brian took the time to evaluate may van and help me determine that it was safe to do a transmission flush, but he also told me about the possibility of risk with an older car. I dont believe he would have recommended the service if it were likely to cause problems. They did the complete service, including flush, fluid, filter, and gasket for the same price or less than what an incomplete service might cost elsewhere. Since then his shop has completed many services for me including tune up, radiator replacement, breaks, shocks, wheel bearings and routine fluids and filters. Brian has personally driven the vehicle to diagnose rough idling, weird noises etc. He always asks what issue I want to address and he never pushes services that are not requested. He and his crew will evaluate the vehicle over all if you ask, but they dont go looking for work. You can tell this is an honest shop because they are always busy. Besides that, the prices are fair and Brian is a genuinely kind and honest person who believes in customer service! I highly recommend this shop!

Worst place I’ve ever taken my car to. The owner was so unprofessional and careless. Took my car there to get looked at and they said they would call me and let me know what’s wrong with it. They called me 2 days later and said that they fixed the problem. I never gave them permission to work on my car and install parts on it without my permission. The owner didn’t care at all about what i had to say. Spent 300 and the problem still wasn’t fixed but he claimed it was 90 percent fixed. No one takes their car to a mechanic for 90% work. Worst place ever. Would never recommend anyone to take their vehicle here. The mechanics who work in the back were very polite and understanding.

Got transmission and master cylinder replaced. Come to find out my cv axles were put in wrong and fell out causing grease to be flung everywhere and damage! Bolts werent tightened enough! I could have died in an accident do to the quality of work at this place!!!! Now I have to take it to volkswagen dealership to get it fixed the right way!!! I dont recommend going here do to poor quality in work.

He didn’t know me from Adam, but took care of my car within a day and is one of the straightest shooters in the business. If you’re upstate hiking and have any worries, he’s your man. I feel the owner was dishonest and cheated me on my vehicle alleged repair. He did not want to give me a price and in the end I was charged for 3 hrs labor for an alleged broken sensor wire.I do not recommend this shop.

Professional installation and on time

I moved to Middletown almost 3 years ago since I had previously used Mavis (East 211) and Firestone (Gibbs), I took my vehicle to them for my regular serving. Both of which I had issues with extremely long waits and they always missed some work needed on my vehicle until it was nearly dangerous to drive my vehicle. (I have left separate reviews for them)But enough about them...I want to talk about the SUPERSTARS I found at AAMCO tucked away at 45 Fulton St. I decided to go to them after reading through all the positive and glowing reviews that I read for them. Having been burned every time I went to take my car serviced by other shops, I went there with some level of skepticism. However, I was completely surprised at how much they value me as a customer. They adhere to schedule when I make appointments for repair work and dont eat up my entire day to get a simple oil change. They take their time to go over what is an immediate need vs. a job that can wait. I appreciate that because it is never a good feeling when you go for a routine appointment and get slammed with a pricey job which blindsides you. I also feel respected as a customer because I found in the other shops they were trying to up sell me services I didnt need but failed to notify me of actual work it needed.Both Brian and Louie are awesome. I love that they honest about pricing upfront and always guarantee their work. I absolutely will not take my vehicle to anyone but them!!!!

Incredible service! I came in for an oil change and within 15-20 minutes, was out. Brian is very personable and even offered a space for my car while I am away for the summer. Knowing the age of my car (16 years old), Brian never tried to push any unnecessary services. My real estate agent also recommended him. As a long time tech, I found myself in an unusual situation. I needed to find a shop to do some transmission work when I was medically unable to do the work myself. Knowing this industry, and its rough image, I was not sure Id be able to find someone reputable. After reading all of these reviews about Brian and his shop, it all seemed to good to be true. All it took was 5 minutes of conversation with him, in person, and on a professional level, and I knew this guy was legit. There is no BS, no bait, no surprises. Not only did his shop do the work I needed correctly, he did it ridiculously quick.
