I ordered a meatball sub that came with fries and a cup of soup which I paid $1 upcharge for crab soup. I did not eat any of the soup.. I asked the waitress for a container for the sub I had left and a container for my soup..She returned and told me she was told that she could not give me a container for the soup that it was complementary and had to be eaten there. I never heard anything like that before.. The only reason Im given 3 stars is because the waitress was very nice and the food was good.
My boyfriend and I had dinner here after the Orioles game. Let me just say we were more than pleasantly surprised. The service was top notch and the food.... WOW! Best french toast weve ever had. Light and crispy on the edges. Melts in your mouth YUMMY!
This was a great experience for me. My guy and I went there for brunch. We shared because they give you large portions. I ordered a Belgian Waffle and he ordered French Toast, eggs over easy, turkey bacon, and home fries. There were 4 pieces of bacon so we split that and there was a whole plate of potatoes we split those. He likes his French toast cooked in the middle and not mushy and he asked for it that way but it was still a little wet in the middle so he ate around it. He was going to say something but we agreed that you cant get the French toast made like that everywhere and its best when he makes it at home. Our server was funny and attentive, we were seated immediately. Overall a good visit but not sure he will order the French toast again...

Great spot for a late dinner when noone else is open. Vast menu and stunning dessert case, most notably lemon meringue pie with mile-high meringue! One complete shelf of various cheesecakes too. Food was good and fairly priced. Ran out of their signature 🦀 cakes so was unable to taste test. Attentive service & quick cooking. Massive plates. Would go back!
I dont travel to the South like I used to so getting catfish and eggs for breakfast is very difficult. Instead I got a little crafty. I purchased a regular breakfast and added an order catfish to it. Best catfish Ive eaten in a long time. Im going to petiton them to add catfish and eggs as one of their breakfast items. That way it might be a little less expensive.

Service was terrible. Server forgot to put in half the order, food came out at separate times, appetizer came out half way through our meal. Servers were arguing among each other for all guest to hear. Food was average, big menu though so maybe what I got just wasn’t their best.
May 2021Not impressed. Its really obvious the cheese in the sausage and cheese omelette is low-quality, generic cheese, but its a decent price and the home fries were good. But the Italian cold cut was not good at all, I just didn’t care for any of the ingredients and it was entirely too runny. The potato skins were also very subpar, and even the coffee was a miss, it was very bitter. Don’t care to ever come back.
We were tired and hungry with 200 miles to go. We were welcomed with friendly service. Ordered a traditional Turkey Club with fries. While we made our “pit stop”, the staff engaged us with light, friendly “chit chat”. The club was outstanding and delicious! We will add this to our places to stop next time we venture south. THANK YOU STAFF!!!
Poor service. Bad food. The menus is so big, there are always items out of stock. Im talking 8+pages of food! They advertise their milkshakes, but there isnt a time Ive been dragged in here with friends that they have had milkshakes; either the machines are down, they are out of milk, or out of ice cream.This restaurant used to be a gem about 20 years ago. They need to scale back the menus and focus on a solid selection for each meal so they can get the flavor back, offer better service, and reduce food cost. That might improve the quality, because as it stands, it tastes like food from the freezer section that gets over cooked.I hope they can turn this place around.

A stop here will be rewarding. Besides the 0600 opening, the staff was courteous and attentive. The coffee is strong. On Fridays, the crab cake in a macaroni bowl was bold in flavors, filling, and fresh. Exceptional taste. Highly recommend the Silver Moon Diner, attended on a tip from a local - thanks, Joe. Great food was my spot for a year now never had any issues and in fact I was looking/told by manager that he wanted me to work for him. Well my support for this family business ends today. I called to get a to go order placed. Was told there would be a 3$ charge for each meal. When I asked why I was given no reason instead I was met witha dial tone. Yup he hung up on me in the middle of my order. So I drove there to place to just order inside. But when I let it be known I was hung up on I was told that he didnt hang up. Didnt hang up? How are you going to tell me the customer that I didnt get hung up on? Poor customer service and poor attitude has me never wanting to come back. And Ill be warning everyone I know to no longer go there as well (it being a year that I raved about how good and nice the establishment is so I know I brought other guest to their doors)
Ive always been a fan of Diners since going with my parents when I was younger. Eating at Silver Moon Diner didnt disappoint! Great homemade food, the way all restaurants should be! Thank you for a wonderful meal, a beautiful building & for saving a dieing way of life!
Loved the gyro deluxe! The Small Greek salad is a generous and delicious, the fries are tasty and hot,, and the delicious pita bread is stuffed with taziki sauce, and fresh and tender, shaved gyro meat
Love the fun atmosphere here. The staff made everyone feel welcome. The menu offers so many options it was difficult for me to choose just one. I enjoyed a delicious crab cake, French fries and slaw. It came with the choice of soup or salad. I had the Maryland crab soup all for $11.95. Everyone in my group ordered something different and lunch was enjoyed by all. This restaurant has a bakery right on the premises. The staff were all friendly and courteous. The food was delivered fast and the parking was plentiful. I cant wait to go here again!
Food is good, depending on the server service may or may not be good. This is my last time here. They demand a $15 min to use your credit card. That is a big no go for me, also the managers are as rude as humans get. The one girl up front talks to her customers like they are cattle. News flash lady, no one cares about your problems we the customers keep you in business and your business is not all that enjoyable to visit unless someone wants to laugh at the ridiculousness of how you run the place. There are much better choices close by.

No crabcakes, understandable given the current shortage. However, when the french toast is sent back because it is basically just bread that was quickly dipped and thrown on a grill and not removed from the bill. It was just bread in the middle, not french toast at all. Not good! Also not good when the manager/owner says she will not remove it from the bill at first. This was a table of 5 that purchased 8 meals total.. Manager and another employee then proceed to berate the poor server in front of everyone. That is not professional! Not sure I will be returning or recommending this diner again. Go a little further and get better food and service at the diner in Bel Air!

Silver Moon is a great little family diner. People are nice. Food is hot and delicious. The desserts are insanely huge and yummy. The oreo cheesecake is out of control good. And they play soccer when its on!!
My husband and I went there Friday night after 8pm. The diner was not very busy. We were asked if we wanted to be seated. We said no we just wanted desert. We waited. Finally a server was told to help us. The server had just started to help a customer at the counter. The server quickly helped us. We had the impression that the server didnt really want to help us. However once we selected 1 item we were asked if we wanted something else. We said yes and the server pulled out that item. Another server came over and was asked by the first server if they could put the cakes away since that server was busy. The first serve rushed into the kitchen with our cakes and returned with them in a bag. We were going to order more however we felt rushed to leave so that server could return to the customer at the counter. We have eaten there several times over the years even when they were slammed and never felt rushed. We felt like we were a bother to that server since our purchase did not get tips.. We were quickly rung up and that server returned to the customer at the counter. We thought about going back on Saturday but chose another place to eat instead.

We had lunch there on May 7th. The personnel were terrible, the man I encounter upon walking in was very rude. The girl behind the cash register was just as rude. As we sat down I could hear her talking to others with that nasty tone. We had a waitress named Maddy, her service was terrible, gave us drinks with no straws which I had to mention to her. Maddy brought our food and it was very good, however she never game back to refill our drinks or give extra napkins. Just an overall bad day for service, not sure if we will return. It was a day there phones were not working but still no excuse for poor service. We spent quite a bit on food and deserts. They all need attitude adjustments. I wasnt going to leave a tip at all and changed my mine and left a very small amount.

When we pulled up it really did not look like a restaurant . I went in side to get a menu because it was three of us and we really did not know what type of food they sold. I asked the waitress for a menu and she showed me where they were but some white gentleman who I think was the manager was telling me they did not have any menus. So when he turned his back I took the menu. It was the type of menu encased in a leather binding. It listed a tremendous amount of food. We all order chicken parmesan with shrimp and spaghetti. The dish was OK but I think it would be unfair to try to rate all the different types of food they serve after only one dish. I may go back to try something else. The prices can be high but the amount of food U get is humongous.
Ok, I ordered liver and onions, spinach with salad. Lamb chops with green beans. Liver and onions were on point and the spinach was one of the best I’ve had from a dinner. The salad could have been fresher. The lamb chops were great in portion and taste. I will definitely be going back for that seafood plater which looked delicious.
Very rude servers and dont ask for a to go cup because they are so cheap and most of the staff servers are horrible and rude. I do not recommend this unprofessional business...IT SUCK BAD...DO NOT GO THERE..SERVIVE IS HORRIBLE
We ate lunch here today. Our waiter, Big dark haired guy never wrote our orders down, (4 of us) each of us got crab cakes, 2-fried,2,broiled, 1 with French fries simple order right. He never brought the right plate to the right person. Had to ask him 3 times for mayonnaise and tartar sauce. So when. He brought the bill everybody was charged for French fries extra. He was kind of nasty to redo the bill and make it right for us.

Service was amazing. Food was pretty good (my favorite was the onion rings). The prices were decent as well (dinner for 2 totaling $38 with 2 appetizers, 2 meals, and unlimited refills). We did spend a little longer than expected in this diner (my girlfriend and I were there for a little bit more than an hour), but overall it was a nice experience.

I have been eating here for a long time and I feel the quality of the food is going down hill. Ordered the cream of crab soup and it was served lukewarm. Had the waitress take it back to nuke it and again, it still wasn’t as hot as it should have been. The food itself was very bland, lacking seasoning of any kind.The breakfast menu is usually pretty good, but customer beware of boring, bland food if you order anything else.

This Silver Moon Diner is a pretty good place to have a seat and eat.. you wont leave hungry bc the portions I saw on many plates were plentiful.. I had the Eggs Benedict which was good.. I had also tried the Crèmé Brûlée on a previous visit...and seemed to be made with some kind of Crisco product that blanketed your taste buds.. the bathroom was clean, and the waitress was helpful and pleasant.. If your bill happens to be fifteen dollars or less, youll want to bring some cash..
This diner was great. I was there last night with my pregnant girlfriend. She had chicken noodle soup to start and I started with a salad both was really good. For our entree’s I had meatloaf, mash potatoes and green beans it was great. She had a chicken salad sandwich and Fries and it was also really good. We will be returning. If you enjoy really good home cooked food this is the place for you.

They must have changed cooks. The food was tasteless. The shrimp was chewy you couldnt swallow them, the crab soup had crab pieces but no seasoning the crab cake was smaller and tasteless. A terrible meal for so much money. And I brought 2 orders.
My mom and her friend ate here on April 14th. My mom ordered a shrimp salad sandwich at $8.99. The sandwich was 3/4 lettuce and was horrible. She had to throw most of the lettuce away. When she complained to an employee and then later to the manager, she was treated so rudely. My mom is 90 years old and was disrespected by these employees who responded to her complaint: Well, what do you want us to do about it? She will never patronize this restaurant again.

Do not eat here! Staff is not friendly at all. The restaurant is not very clean and is outdated but worst of all ... I ordered the chicken parm and when I received my food there was hair in it!🤢 (not mine) How disgusting is that someone else’s hair in your food! When I told the staff her answer was “Sorry we are short staffed”. What does being short staffed have to do with hair in the food you are serving, n there was only one other table of people so even if short staffed it was not busy at all. Never again for me

The food and the service is always good,Last night I watched one of the servers handling peoples money and dirty dishes and then walk over to the service station and cut bread without washing his hands or putting on gloves. Im sure this happens all the time cuz the servers are trying to keep up with the demand but with all the BS thats been going on over the last year you would think the server would take more care before touching someones food with his bare hands
Forget Jimmys and Costas Inn--Silver Moon has the absolutely most delicious crab-cakes this side of Baltimore, and big as softballs; and their french-fries are renown throughout the universe as still tasty after a night in the fridge.

I do not like to write negative reviews but the attitude and service from the women staffers (2) was very unacceptable and unprofessional.Now, I understand when operating a food business time is of the essence. From taking care of customers in person, placing orders over the phone, and packaging each customers dish mistakes can happen. We are human at the end of the day.They say customers are suppose to check his or her order before leaving. My 73yr old mother did her best to check behind the staff and didnt realize one side dish was missing from the bag until she got home. It happens right!Also not everyone can just turn their car around after driving 40mins when they have family at home waiting for a meal during Covid.So, I asked for a rain check. Most restaurants wouldnt have made a big fuss over a minor mistake but nope, these women took their positions to a whole nother level. Gang possyYet, all we wanted was to return on another day when ordering, hoping they would offer us that (one) tiny side dish of green beans.Instead we were giving lots of loud snappy attitude (extremely hostile) over the phone which was unnecessary. In addition, they commented about how some customers lie about what they ordered.Now that may true in some cases, but what did that have to do with My Mother who paid Full amount for the multiple dinners.Seriously, the false accusation nor assumption is something you dont do just because you think you can. Or because of what the customer skin tone is. Unfortunately, this left a sour taste in my mouth and it wasnt from the strawberry cheesecake.Will not return & we are happy to take our money elsewhere.
In the area for work. Stopped in for dinner after leaving another restaurant that was trashed. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door with a smile. Everyone was incredibly friendly. Service was superb. Food delicious. You can tell that everyone working here loves it. The place just shines. The chrome is so polished it could pass for mirrors. I usually do not leave reviews, but, this place is fantastic.
