CAROL FABRICS! There is so much to say! I Love this place so much, it was my first time going and it won’t be my last. I’m creating a birthday dress and they have so many options so many beautiful colors and styles. Jason was wonderful he was a HUGE help and extremely funny and kind. I don’t know anything about fabrics or which would be the one I needed and just by showing him a Photo of what I wanted he gave me what I needed. I came in about a year ago and found the most amazing fabric with the help of Jason and his employees. Last month I went again and he remembered me. Jason is so sweet and helpful and always tries to see what kind of discounts he can put on the prices. David and Steylin were wonderful helping cut the fabrics and were super wonderful to talk to. I went in again today and Steylin was wonderful helping me find the right fabric. Everyone is very kind to each other and talk to each other like family friends.

As soon as we walked in they greeted us and asked what we were looking for along with the occasion. Jason was very knowledgeable on the store’s inventory along with pricing and David was great in assisting my mother and I with measurements. I came in on a whim after I was unable to find suitable fabric for a ball gown at Jo Ann’s. Jason helped me to find the most beautiful Mikado Silk (and stayed patient when I changed my mind 10 times) and sold it at a fair price. Steylin expertly cut my fabric and was very kind. I came in with the impression of I’m not going to find anything because of the last fabric store I went to. Once I walked in they greeted me with the best energy I ever gotten before, and I just knew I was going to find something. They automatically asked me what I wanted and of course I was undecided on what I wanted because I’m very picky. Been here 4 times in the past 5months. They have the absolute best customer service not snooty like the other fabric stores nearby. Im helped as soon as I walk in the doors. It is a family business and the service is very professional.I showed them a picture of a very rare fabric I want for my wedding dress and they had a beautiful French fabric very similar!I am very happy with my finding and I will be back to Carol for more!

I came in around the beginning of November looking for fabric to make my Senior Breakfast outfit. I was having trouble with other fabric stores because they didn’t have what I wanted until I walked into Carol’s. I left with a beautiful white patterns for a great price. As a fashion student at SAIC, I have been reaching out to Jason at Carol Fabrics for over a year now. I do visit the store in Miami and, when necessary, I will fly down to see fabrics in person and collect samples to bring back. He and Gilda are VERY accommodating and know their stuff. They ship fabrics up to Chicago whenever I need and the prices are hard to beat, especially in comparison to most high end fabric stores (ex: Mood Fabrics).

Im a cosplay, and as one I use a lot of fabrics and need a lot of amazing designs. I have never been to a place that gave such good service and even better pricing. Listen, if you are looking for fabric with an attitude then go somewhere else. Jason has hooked up my church more than once more than twice. Anyone who gives this place less than a 5 star rating either has a problem or is a hater. Ive been to several stores on the strip and they treat you as if they could care less if you buy and what exactly you came in for. They have this take it or leave it attitude. Threw minute I walked in here I was actually greated by someone else other than Jason and felt like I was shopping where someone actually cared about your wants rather than suggesting something you had no business buying. I have been treated with so much more respect everywhere else. Hence,I have been dealing with fashion many years so I frequently go to downtown and Carols fabrics is no stranger to me.The fabrics are nice, prices are ok, they vary on what youre looking for, but seriously I get rude service with the female owner, this is not the first time Ive heard of many people which Its so wrong! Apparently she is either always too busy to help or In her eyes A customer is not worth helping or not serious and from a personal experience you are in the way and just disturb her. I recommend if you must step foot in this place dont waste your time dealing with the old woman just go straight to the men. They will treat you with lots of respect. At least there is some sanity with the men! Good luck!

My experience with the over all family has been awesome, they truely try to help every customer equally. I love how they teach people they hire about all the different fabrics, like fun pop quiz that helps me learn too. Great finds for Cosplay always here. Favorite is organzas they stock, so many colors.

Not a great variety for my tastes. When I first came in, an employee was yelling how they have the same fabrics for less than the store next door. I dont know if what he was saying was true but I didnt like his attitude about it. I dont feel like its a good business practice to compare yourself to competitors openly.Update: I decided to give them another shot and was helped by the same arrogant employee. A different gentleman was helping the best he could by trying to find a fabric to match my sample swatch (I appreciated that). In comes the 1st guy (possibly manager or owner) saying how they cant match fabrics from other stores or companies. I never asked for an exact match cause I know thats unreasonable and impossible, I asked for as close as possible and found one on my own.

It was a totally unpleasant experienceIn conclusion. If Jason is not better or go. Jasons father was the one who took care of me and hes an old man with a lot of arrogance, he just knows how to criticize the Nuñez fabrics store and compare himself and say that the other store has mielda cloth (he said it) and that hes the gold.I spend the whole afternoon in the store and when I have finally selected the fabrics and I want to pay, the man gives me a higher price than what he was telling me at the beginning. From there I started asking for a discount for business (because I wanted to buy many quantities), as Jason had said the previous day I could ask. Well, the gentleman starts shouting at me to say that he is offended (because I asked him for a discount) and that he paid 15 dollars an hour for the pipes (I never understood why he was mentioning this), he began to say that we had made him lose all time and that if his fabrics we found it expensive, it would be better if we left.I was trying to calm him down and telling him that it was not a question of what was expensive or not, rather, it was that we went over budget and it did not come out profitable. Well, the gentleman started shouting and calling me stupid, after that he turned me around and left the store and the gentleman was still shouting and insulting me as they entered entering other clients.It was definitely the worst customer service experience Ive received. Im not saying the store is bad, just the opposite. But the quality of the fabrics they sell with respect to the insults and arrogance received was not worth a bit. In the end, I was the client who was going to spend hundreds of dollars in his store and he simply made it lose everything.
