I went to 2 other cake design locations for a customized cake and I was discouraged by the response and quote I received, I thought that I wasn’t going to be able to get this special cake for my son until I came here. The cake designer took her time to hear what I wanted and even offered to place the toys on the cake for a popping look. They did not disappoint. Cake was super professionally created and tastes amazing!!! I will be definitely ordering all cakes from here and I have a lot of more birthdays to come!

My family and I have been buying for many years all of our cakes from Sweet Art by Lucila, The Original, located on Bird Road and 71 Ave, the owner is Esther. We will never buy cakes anywhere else but here, they have the best tasting rum cakes, service is excellent and the cakes always turn out beautifully. I highly recommend them.

I’m super unhappy with the cake I received today. It came out completely different from what I had discussed with the baker. The color was different, the cake is dry, things were placed in random spots of the cake without a purpose. This cake did not come cheap. I was charged $160 to receive a poor quality cake and to be done however they choose to make it. For anyone who is considering on purchasing a cake from here… be sure to look around for a baker who cares about the quality and happiness of the client, rather than just doing a job.

I ordered my wedding cake here and they destroyed it. They got the whole order wrong. It was supposed to be cookies and cream and it was some yellow cake with some nasty cookies and rum filling. The owner had lost my ordered until I followed up the day before, then they charged me $50 more than what we agreed because she took my card over the phone. HORRIBLE!

For more than 30 years I have ordered the cakes from Lucila for my family and they have always been the best quality cake and now that they have more variety I keep loving my guava cake. May God bless this family and their business. Martha

On April 24, 2021, I ordered a cake at Sweet Art Cake at Bird Road for my daughter’s wedding and paid for it in advanced. I gave them specific details in writing about the size, style, flavors, decorations, time of delivery, etc. They promised that they would deliver the cake just as prescribed and agreed upon. However, the day of the wedding they called me at 10:00 am to ask me who was getting the flowers for the decorations, which we paid for additionally. I told them that they had agreed to get the flowers and reminded them how they needed to look. They had agreed originally to deliver the cake by 10:30 because the wedding started at noon, but now they told me they would be there by 11:00 am. I told them not to be there later than 11:00 because they would be to close to the starting time. To make a long story short, I called them multiple times because the cake would not arrive and the place was full of guests. At 12:36 l called them last and they told me that they were 5 minutes away. We had to delay the wedding by half an hour and the cake finally arrived and made its way to the table in the midst of the guests. It was nothing as what we agreed. The flowers were huge when we had agreed for small delicate ones, the finish looked cheap, the cake was a lot smaller than what we paid for, the favors of the three layers were not even close to what had been agreed, and the base that we paid to have was not delivered! For example the top cake was supposed to be of lemon flavor with raspberry filling, and it was vanilla with cream. Nothing was close to the tastings when we went to their shop. We called the store many times to give them the opportunity to come clean, and every time we called they said that the manager was not there and would call us back, but that never happened. This is the worst place to order a cake.

Best experience ! Last minute order, they over delivered on my expectations. Cake tasted amazing. One of the best or the best rum cake ever had. Decoration and presentation was top notch. Highly recommend, couldnt ask for better experience.

This is our go to place for all occasions. Use the constantly and they never disappoint. Been using them since they in the falls areas and was so sorry to see them go. But nonetheless, continue to driver further to get there and have that delicious cake for all of our celebrations.

I ordered two cakes, one for a birthday and the other for a celebration. I am happy to say that they were very responsive and took. The time to answer any questions I had. They were very flexible and with altering my order. I’ve grown up having Lucilas at my birthdays, and now that I’ve tried their cakes again 12 years later after moving back, I’m happy to say that great quality is still there.

We purchased a rum cake for 12 today, and the cake was several days old. Not only was it dry, but it takes as if it was refrigerated for days. It also did not smell fresh. What a waste of money and an embarrassment at my son’s 21 birthday. I do not recommend this place.

The cakes are absolutely delicious! Theyre definitely affordable, customizable, and beautiful. I havent had a Lucilas cake for years since their Falls location closed but even growing up theyve always been a family favorite. I bought a large birthday cake from here as a surprise and everyone loved it. The rum cake itself is moist and savory & the frosting is just perfect and it isnt that pure sugar/no flavor kinda frosting. Definitely worth it, even if its a small cake you get! 🍰

Our wedding cake not only looked beautiful but tasted great! The cake was very important to us and Sweet Art by Lucila was very reasonably priced, especially in comparison to their competition, but they had great service and the cake came out exactly how we wanted it. So very happy we went with them for our wedding cake!

This is awesome! I bought a cake and the owner talked to me by phone and helped me make my decision. I budget was limited so they helped me get the best with the budget I had. Great service and very responsible people. The cake was gorgeous!!

So thankful Lucia Cakes exists! We bought a cake for sons birthday and everyone at the party couldn’t get enough of it. It was so cute and tasted even better. The staff here was amazing and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. Can not recommend this place enough for all your sweet treat needs!

I am not one to leave reviews however, I feel I should share my experience with the public so that they are aware of the negligence of this place. I placed my order for a two tiered cake and provided a picture of the cake I wanted. I knew the cake would not be exact as to the design however, I expected the colors to be the same given that the decorations for my party had already been purchased and of course i was expecting my cake to match. The top layer of the cake I wanted was a yellowish color and the final product was gold. The baker took it upon themselves to put whatever color they wanted without contacting me first. If the shop did not have the colors to begin with then I should have been notified. Imagine my frustration when I had the cake picked up just hours before my party only to find out that the cake would totally clash my decorations. It was embarrassing to say the least. I called the shop to express my frustration and was told by the Manager that she would speak with the owner. This was Friday September 4 and here we are 3 days later and still no response. At the very least I should have received a call back and definitely some sort of refund. Truly disappointing. Waste of money! Very shameful that the owner could not take five minutes of her time to try and make this right. It shows she does not care for her customers and can be classified as a money hungry owner just like the majority of the business owners in this world.

I would ask Esther for the rest of my life to make me cakes! My hubby and I LOVE her cakes so much during our tasting, we went with them for our Wedding cake and even my bridal shower cake. The cakes where so moist and had the perfect amount of flavor in them. Her cakes are so amazing, I was giving out her info at my bridal shower AND my wedding! Our guests LOVE LOVE LOVE the cake we had!! She was very responsive and flexible when I was asking for a cake pretty last minute for my bridal shower. I will forever be coming to her for cakes! Xx

This is the original shop. Apparently the other location in Doral parted ways about six months ago and changed the recipe. Wonderful service...walked in and within five minutes got one of their famous rum cakes, big enough to serve ten, with custom decoration...all for just $18. Sweet indeed!

I ordered a cake and I told the lady that I wanted something girly with music signs, she told me it was going to $25 more for the design.I went to pickup the cake and I had to wait 30 minutes for the music signs to dry, when they brought the cake it was the most ugliest cake I have ever seen!! If you give them an idea of what you want they need to be creative.It was very disappointing, I rather order cakes at Publix!Not to even mention that my daughter and her friend got sick from eating this cake!!

Had our wedding cake made by them. The had us try samples of their cakes and show them a picture of what we wanted. It not only came out better than we thought, the taste was amazing! We had the guava cake and I’ve never had a better cake! They have become my go to place for cakes moving forward - highly recommend!

I recently ordered a vanilla rum cake for a surprise birthday party. After reading some of the reviews, I have to say I was sceptical about ordering a cake from here. BUT I have to say I was very impressed with how beautiful the cake looked (white roses added on top as requested) and also how amazing it tasted! My first rum cake ever and definitely will not be my last from Lucilas!5 stars all the way because of great service and even better deliciousness!

First I had to wait an hour for the cake to be finished. The best part was that they made my cake with the leftovers of other cakes!! The PIECES of bread/cake were glued with tons of icing. The cake had a hole/curve in the middle. I requested my money back no answer...

There are two Lucila cakes and they are feuding. Both on Bird Road. Sweet Art by Lucila could not find my order. They said i must have called the other Lucila. Thinking it was another store I asked if they would call and see. They explained they are not the same owner and refused to give me any more information phone or address. After a worthless search down the street, I returned to art by Lucila and they realized did have the order. I then had to wait 30 more minutes to get the cake.The cake is the same, I tried both but next time I’ll go to Eddas.

I lovED these cakes. They WERE the best rum cakes in Miami. After multiple orders for multiple special family moments Im done. I ordered a cake a week ahead. I have specific directions on design with pictures. Deposit paid. Agreed upon pick up time. Im waiting almost an hour because the decorations werent even done! I am disappointed, frustrated and spending more time waiting for the cake than with my family celebrating. Amazing cake, no service.

They r not good with their word!

In the last month, I have had three attemptes of buying cakes from this store and the quality is horrible and the cakes have been always dry! You guys used to be great but now it is appalling. Waste of money!!

Good customer service by Esther, Location could use cleanliness, floor tiling missing, Good rum cake. Esther was very nice, their package only included 3 tiers for less than 120 guests, but she included the filings, she also offered to make my cake taller by adding foam at no extra cost (however, second time I visited Karla insisted on charging me for the foam so Idk whos correct if Esther or Karla?) and offering to add as many natural flowers as needed if i left them there for her as well as working with me on the design. She offered me a huge slice of dulce de leche which was the one I was mostly interested in without hesitation and free and a small sample of vanilla rum. On my second visit, Esther was very busy and never came out although she insisted I went back on Saturday to give me fresh samples. A young girl helped me. She brought out the samples. She had exquisite Amaretto and Grand Marnier samples. However, her chocolate, lemon, orange, and marble were very dry, this was surprising bc in the initial tasting everything was very good! I wonder if the young assistant didnt prepare the samples properly? Her base rental fee was only $30 very fair price and the base looked in good condition. Sadly, in person this shop looks very beat down and dirty, the floor is missing tiling and all around it could use a bit more of cleaning. Esthers customer service, willingness to work with the client exceeded my expectations and if their shop was more presentable I wouldve given them 5 stars. They do offer great value! Based on their conditions and taste quality they earn 3 stars, great flavor, great value, but very beat down shop which doesnt make me trust my cake will come out beautiful and delivered on time which is the reason why Im giving 3 starts. I saw a woman picking up an engagement party cake, I noticed the cake was tilting forward and the top tier not centered. I would recommend them for casual cakes but not sure if to trust them for bigger projects. They lack consistency in service and consistency in flavor.

Lucilas on Bird Road is simply the best! They care about their product and the clients and they went above and beyond for me.I had order my sons Baptism cake at Lucilas in Doral. I gave them 2 pictures showing how I wanted the cake to look and paid in full. When we picked up the cake it was nothing like I requested and had it been presentable I would have used it but it was horrible! There was no way I could use that cake in the reception and they told me they couldnt do anything else for me. I panicked because my event was the following morning so I immediately called Lucilas on Bird Road thinking it was the same owner and to get some assistance but they are a franchise. The owner told me she would help me and by the end of the day she had exactly what I wanted and it was DELICIOUS! It was so good that I didnt have any left overs and returned during the week to buy some slices. She was caring and professional and went above and beyond so that my son could have a beautiful cake at his reception. I truly recommend Lucilas on Bird Rd.

Terrible! Went to new location to pick up cake for my sisters birthday. Time on website and at business says 9-6 I called at 4:50 asking for directions no one bothered to tell me that the store was closing at 5. Endured horrible traffic to find place closed. No more Sweet Art for me. Heading to Michys

I ordered an amaretto cake that had always been very good and I had the scare of my life. At the first bite I felt an unbearable taste of ammonia or acetone, some very strong chemical, I spat it out and yelled at the whole party not to try the cake, which was bad. One child and two adults tried it and ended up vomiting. The next day I went to claim and they gave me the money back. The lady insisted that she was only strong from Amaretto ... but it was not. I had a terrible pain with my guests and not to mention the scare .... the flavor lasted us like an hour in the mouth.

The worst experience of my life, I practically made a monthly cake, they look spectacular but since thanksgiving it was bad, I called and I reported it to Norma and she told me nose, Christmass got worse, and the 31st the worst, I call and simply They cant solve the problem, the truth is they are scammed, they charge Caro and the Work Its crap, to cake none of that any pane tell in Cuba Its better, Espinosa nothing, closer could not be, and to top it off I call the Store and I talk to Norma and I shout, that professionalism, right?
