High price !! For repair a lense sony emount 16-55 told me 149 $ really ???? Really ? I mean it’s better buy a new one ! Don’t make sense at all. It’s almost the same price one used! Sony or another brand new like sigma !! Simply ridiculous

I would have rated them a 5 star for cleaning and repair but they changed my camera settings and deleted my custom functions while repairing it. I went to a photo shoot and my back button focus wouldnt work. When I got home I noticed all my files were jpeg instead of RAW.If you need to reset the camera, please be considerate enough to advise the customer before the service and at the pickup time.🤯😳😟

I came in with my trigger stuck on my camera... I tried everything I could think of to take it off with our breaking it... within two minute of me walking in the store they were able to fix the camera.. I would recommend this camera repair to any of my photographer friends.. they are very polite and professional!!!

I rarely ever leave reviews. but i was so blown blown away by the phenomenal customer service and quick turn around that i have to! the entire store was very friendly and attentive to my needs. i shopped around and got different quotes and the quote i received here was by far the most reasonable with them throwing in extra things they would fix for free! if you have any issues with your problem go here FIRST! they will give you an accurate estimate, a quick turn around and friendly customer service

I called ahead to get a camera for my high school photography class, and they were able to get me a gorgeous Nikon Nikkormat EL for a nice price. They were able to give me a student discount too! Duke was very helpful in helping find everything I need. Isaac - the owner - was able to explain my camera to me at the desk, very helpful. I strongly recommend buying from here.

Rocky and Issac go above and beyond at Southern Photo, after years of using Southern Photo, I consider them family now. They are extremely helpful, friendly and affordable. Their work is beyond my expectations always recently I purchased a Tamron 150-600 G2 lens for wildlife and it arrived damaged I sent it to Southern Photo and within 6 days of me paying the estimate it was back at my door in New Jersey. They overnighter the parts for me and fixed my lens the next day. They cleaned my Canon 1DX and 5D Mark III at no charge and shipped it back to me super fast. Southern Photo is beyond amazing!! Rocky and Issac are the best!!

I should have listened to the reviews. Slow service, it took 3 1/2 weeks. They sent my video camera back with same exact smudge on the internal lens I sent it there for even though I asked to different people to verify the smudge was gone before they mailed it. They said the fixed the audio issue and put a new part in, total lie.The owner really thinks he’s a know it all and interrupts you constantly. He told me he would call me back, off course he didn’t. The apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree the staff said they would do things and of course they didn’t. I’m very disappointed with this company after spending $1100.00 I’d expect a better more professional level of service.UpdateI made a claim with my credit card company and got my money back from this horrible company.

I had a shocking time with these guys. Incompetent and arrogant to the extreme. I took my lens in and failed to return it to me in the agreed time meaning I had to leave it in the USA and get it back to Africa on my own arrangements. It arrived back with exactly the same focussing issue I had before.Begrudgingly they agreed I could bring it in the next time I was in the USA and they would complete the repairs I had already paid for without charge.I returned the lens to them and got hit with a bill that was 15% more than the original amount and they revoked the offer to fix under the original (and significant amount)So in short lying, cheating arrogant and incompetent. Not great guys

I was actually referred to them by Samys Camera, who didnt want to send out our digital SLR to Canon directly due to the instant minimum charge that would be more than the repair itself. He has serviced my cameras film and digital with great care and expertise. Ive bought and sold cameras and lenses through him and his organization. This place was recommended by a friend. I have a Nikon camera that needed some repairs, cleaning and parts replaced. I called this place, got the instructions to send the camera and the lens. They received it on April 10, sent me a detailed invoice with the parts, services and returning fee that I paid right away in order to get my camera asap. After 2 months without having any email nor a call from them, I called and they told me there were some back-ordered parts they were waiting for. After a week calling, they said the part was arriving the same day, that Id have my camera back by the following week (June 24-28). I kept waiting, but my camera didnt arrive. I called yesterday and today (July 8, 9), every time they say theyd call me back with details.I couldnt use my camera for my kids’ graduation, neither for my newborn nephew. At this point I cant trust this business, where noboday can answer nor find the status of my camera. Im going on a trip soon but I wont be able to use my camera either.

Today Isaac cleaned my sensor and calbrated my lens to my Nikon D500, and gave me some advise on my shooting technique. All while I waited. Super nice staff, I will be back next week to have my other 2 lenses calibrated. I highly recommend then for all camera needs. Its hard to find personable service like that these days. 5 stars.

Im an adventurous nature photographer, exploring the Everglades and Big Cypress on a regular basis. Last week I was deep in the Big Cypress Preserve when my Nikon 600mm and D850 camera fell into a lake. Life happens, just didnt want that to happen!I hurried into town and went straight to Southern Photo as theyve fixed a lens for me before with great results. As I entered the store, I yelled Emergency Issac looked up from his desk and could see the despair on my face. I shoot a lot of images and change lenses often. This occasionally causes spots on the sensor. Ive taken 2 full frame cameras to Southern Photo to be cleaned about 1-2 times a year. Im completely happy that their professional service gets the job done in about 30-45 minutes. My sensors are always as clean as if they were serviced directly at Nikon, Inc. Extremely happy and I would highly recommend Southern Photo. I have my sensors cleaned more often than normal so that I dont have to spend extra time cleaning images in a photo app. Thanks Southern Photo!

Ive been going to them for about 10 years. The service is good, but they just take wayyyy too long and are over priced. I wish they had a competitor but they are the only shop in town it seems like. My next repair I will ship out to an online lens repair, it may sound scary to send out, but Ive had faster and better results.

I recently sent my Nikon D90 from the Tampa area to the Miami location for service, hoping they could find the reason for the shutters sporadic failure to operate - an issue since its 2nd year) and find the cause of the spots on my photos. I sent the lens I use most often too. They quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem, sent it back to me faster than anticipated and told me my lens was fine - without charging me for looking at it. The cost for the repair was reasonable. The gentleman I talked to initially was both cordial and knowledgeable. It was a great experience.

I was in the Miramar area and had some issues with a Canon 70D we use to color balance video walls. The 70D had a spot near the center of the image that prevented the proper color balancing. Southern Photo took care of the issue the same day. Being that we travel from studio to studio I cant say how much value this was to me to have the camera cleaned and returned the same day. Honest and would do business with again!

Took my Nikon D3 in for a sensor cleaning. They told me it would take 15-20 minutes. I went to lunch next door and when I came back it was ready. Not only that, their tech updated my firmware, which had never been done. WOW! Its so great to not have to edit out all of those dust spots. My camera is better than new!

Just great service. And some people complaining that the price was higher then to buy a new lense....Well. Then why you didnt do that? They give you the price before they do anything and you decide if it worth it. In my case they cleaned both kit lenses and sensor for less then 100 bucks. Thanks guys. Will not go anywhere else

Great service and really quick! 1000x better than Nikon technical service because its right in the area, and actual certified technicians will take a look at your gear (as. You can DEFINITELY count on their reliability, speed, and trustworthiness. Ive been an avid photographer for years and I can honestly say that they are the only people I trust my camera to. They also service just about every other brand I can think of, so definitely check them out if something goes awry.

If youre a professional filmmaker/cinematographer/photographer stay away from this place.I brought in a Helios 77n soviet lens to get serviced because it had a minuscule amount of play in the barrel when the focus ring was being rotated. I talked asked to speak to their technician because they kept insisting (just by looking at the lens) that the lens was fine and that the problem had to be with my camera. I explained to him that I was a professional cinematographer and that the lens was to be used on a feature length film... I proceeded to show him what the problem was and he said he understood. They said the lens would be ready in a week and charged me up front for the service. Weeks kept passing and every time I called they said that the lens would be ready the next day but it never was. They then finally said the lens was ready and I drove 30min to learn it wasnt when I got there. This went on for another week. Again they said the lens was ready so I went over to pick it up... the lady in the front desk spent 15min looking for my lens and came back with a box with two lenses... she proceeded to tell me that one of them was my lens that was unrepairable and the other was a replacement (Takumar 50mm) that was worth more than the lens I brought in.There are multiple issues with this picture. First, I was not informed about their inability to service my lens. Two, I was not offered a replacement, I was just given one. And three, as I explained to the clerk, a Takumar is a Japanese lens whereas the lens I brought in was a Soviet lens (they produce completely different images). Now its too late to find a remedy and the production of the feature film will have to go on without this very rare and special lens simply because of the complete apathy and carelessness of this business.Lesson learned. My advice, if you have an irreplaceable piece of glass, send it to Duclos in California. Anywhere in New York would be better as well.

Excellent and quick service. My LCD screen had gotten stuck meaning it would only stay on one screen without the ability to move it. I brought it in and I had mentioned how I needed the camera. In two days, the camera was fixed with a 6 month guarantee. So happy to have my baby back and in working order. It was faster to give it to them than to any other repair shop including Canon.

Went to Southern Photo Technical Service for camera sensor cleaning. As I was walking through the door I was immediately asked how I could be helped. Receptionist directed me to one of the technicians, named Isaac. I explained the service I needed and he immediately dropped what he was doing and got to work on my camera while I waited. I was able to watch him work from across the room and I can honestly say he was very thorough and did an excellent job. He not only cleaned the sensor, contacts, and battery case, he did a total camera cleaning including lens and body. His charge for the service was extremely reasonable.Because of their prompt, great and courteous service, hands down, I would recommend this shop to anyone needing their camera serviced.

Terrible customer service. Brought my camera to them at Friday, the technician said it will be $79 to fix metal shoe (which holds external flash), I decided its expensive and take time to think a couple days. I returned on Monday and the owner said it will be $249 . What?? it was $79 just 2 days ago. Also the first technician brake the pin for good working internal flash, which was at Friday, but when he detached the metal shoe to figure out how much they will charge.The whole new camera price $800.Absolutely rude owner.No hello, no even good bye.

Gave my Panasonic to them on Nov.5, 2012 and do not have my camera back yet. It is 4/3/13 today!!!! they gave me a verbal guarantee it would be about 4-6 weeks since it was going to be shipped out. They charged just under $200 upfront for a cracked screen. I am not one to be calling every other day so I contacted them once a month since I only use the camera as a hobby.Not once did they ever contact me for and update and nearly every time I called it was a new story. After a month they said it had been shipped and they would call me withing 48 hours to give me an update, never got that call. Another month went by without a call or update and they said they were waiting on a piece to come it. ANOTHER month and was told Panasonic still had it. I still do not have my camera 5 moths later.....still waiting.....Not sure if I would recommend southern photo due to my disappointing experience...

This review is based only on customer service.I found this place online, I was looking for a camera repair for my Sony H300 which I have unused and damage long time ago.I went there hoping that they would give a Hope for my camera 📷. 🙏🏼They have plenty parking for the size of the shopping center, so parking was easy. Once I get to the place I feel the vibes of a real camera repair center, maybe a bit dated but u know that kind of places that won’t lie to you. That day the Sony technician was available at the moment so I needed to leave the camera and they’ll call later.3-4 days after the receptionist called me to tell me the damage and what they need to do, the amount of the repair everything detailed. The bad news for me were that the repair is more expensive than a new camera 😞 so I decided not repair it.Other highlights of the place is that they sell new and use cameras and accessories.I would consider this place for my canon cameras in the future, for maintenance and hopefully NOT repair ....

Isaac and his team are the authorized repair station for most major manufacturers of photographic equipment. Even if they arent, they will still take a stab at it!For me, as a Nikon user, dealing with Southern Photo Technical Service is the next best thing to having a branch of NikonUSA located in South Florida. Although I dont have any Canon gear, I am sure the service they provide those users is top-shelf as well!Close to all the major highways with easy on and off, they are easy to find.And best of all, and most importantly in my book, they are ethical.They get my highest recommendation.

They kept my lens for more than three months and kept promising to get it fixed, constantly telling me things were on backorder from Nikon. They promised to tell me when parts came in, but never called me or notified me. I have never experienced such a lengthy delay getting a repair done on photographic equipment. I would have a difficult time sending them anything else to repair.

Horrible customer service. I needed my camera fixed before I went to Alaska and wanted it to work perfectly for my trip. They put a rush on it because I needed it fixed in 2 weeks but when I called a day before I was to leave on my trip they said they needed to order parts to fix it. Basically, they never looked at my camera until a day before I was supposed to leave on my trip. So, Im leaving tomorrow with a camera with issues. If they would have contacted me earlier perhaps I could have made arrangements to borrow a camera or buy another one but instead they left me no options. They also make you pay in advance so they have no incentive to fix your camera quickly. They are the only certified Nikon shop in the area but next time I will send my camera off to get fixed.

I have been bringing my cameras to SPTS for years. I believe that Isaac is the greatest camera technician I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Point Blank. If you have a camera that you cherish and enjoy, but it needs some service, Isaac and the staff at SPTS are the best. They are passionate and highly skilled. So many bad things i can say in my case i had a very bad experience the first thing they took 5 months to fix the focus on my lense and not to mention they have a very bad attitude starting with the front desk jacki and finishing with the ower but what can you expect if the owner is so rude from employees i have experienced something like i did in this place, after 5 months it was a mission to get my camera back the only person who helped me and at least tried to be nice and did something good was Rachel supposely the manager i will not return and i will never recommend someone here (and that same day there was another client with the same complaint bad service and rude attitude)

My experience? It was one of the greatest experiences I ever had. Ive been having issues with my camera lately..images were coming out with spots in them and just didnt feel the same anymore to me. I was starting to get worried something was wrong and I had to buy a new one...then I walked in to Southern Photo...turned out after hours of bothering my friends for hours..all I needed was a sensor cleaning and a bit more. Isaac and his magnificent staff were there to help! They were very courteous and made me feel very comfortable and at home. Took my brand new Nikkor Lens in to have the auto focus repaired. The customer service doesnt sound organized because their information conflicted. Every time Id check on it, theyd tell me one more week or a few more days. They kept it for 1 month. When I showed up in person, they told me it needed to be sent to Nikon. Im a very patient person, and when I expressed my dissatisfaction, the manager got rude and blamed everything on me. Thats not how you run a business. I will NEVER take my equipment there again.

I took my bowers gemini strobe for repair. After 2 weeks of not hearing back from them with a quote I called and they quoted me $320 dollars for list of itemized repairs that included clean up fees etc. They refused to fax me the quote so I declined the service and sent it over to Calumet photographic via mail.Calumet photographic charged me $120 including shipping. They also told me that when Southern photo put the unit back together, there where a ton of missing screws and that many components where put in the incorrect places.Complete nightmare. and very dishonest!!!

Isaac the owner is probably one of the most realest and modest and yet quite humble guys youll ever meet. He gets engaged with just about every customer that comes through the door. Im Kenny and I have a Nikon camera and it fell 2 floors and stopped working. I checked reviews from both Canon Nikon and found that they both got a little reviews n still are rated low. As far as spts they have 33 reviews on yelp n still are at 4 stars. But anyway spts worked magic for my camera and the price was decent and the service that the staff had giving me was excellent. I WOULD HIGHLY RECONDEMED spts to all my friends, family, and coworkers. THANK YOU SPTS FOR ALL YOUR SERVICE

Left my D7000 to have shutter mechanism replaced. 3 months later they finally said it was ready, but didnt refocus it. Hard to deal with over the phone. A very frustrating 3 months!! Not recommended!

I came the other day..to get my canon lens fix, the factory told me that they could not be fix, it took a bit long to get it fix, but they actually did it ! i hightly recommand this place to anybody !

Worst Customer Service possible. I called Nikon today and filed report about them. Hopefully Nikon will take them of the authorized dealers list and site. Receptionist was giving me attitude when i expressed my not happiness for poor service. They promised my camera back in 10-11 business days. Its already a month, no camera yet, but they charged me for work already month ago. And my camera is my TOOL to make money for living.PLESE DO NOT DO ANY BUSSINESS with this place. I was so used to great service from APS in Illinois that im really shocked, that business like this still exist.

Iam from Honduras and I received my fujifilm in excellent conditions. they did all the repairs to it. the camera doesnt get stucked anymore as if the image is freeze, well it doesnt do that anymore. it has excellent zooming now.and the customer service is the best. they answered to me within one hour every email I wrote. definitely is and excellent technical service
