I walked in very indecisive as to what I wanted. Elizabeth was called to help me and within a few minutes she placed all my thoughts together, went back and forth asking dress designers in the back what works and what doesn’t. Beautiful place and amazingly courteous staff however the price is outrageous. I went to Rex fabric to find a transparent and stretchy nude fabric for a dress. I would need 2 yards and the price for two yards was 60$! I left and went to Joanne’s fabric and found basically the same fabric for 2$ per yard!!

My husband recently inherited an old chair from his grandfather. He was over the moon that he received the chair... wasnt so happy with its beat up appearance in our office. Since I moved to Miami in the early 80s Rex has always been around they are indeed a Miami institution.Through the years I have always enjoyed their fine selection, not only for fabric for clothing but also upholstery. I had a suede chaise, and two leather chairs completely reupholstered and was extremely satisfied. In fact I will be doing that again soon with another club chair acquisition, and some personal Bespoke Tailoring I will be inquiring about. In a final note its a family owned business and they are knowledgeable, professional and very warm a pleasant experience always. Coming from NYC the fashion capital of the world I did notice Miami lacks fine tailoring, and so glad to have them so close to home offering fine tailoring as an option of the varied services they provide.

When I went to Rex fabrics in Miami as a black girl a Hispanic lady quickly looked at us and pointed us to the cheap fabric in the back not knowing we had enough money to purchase the more higher quality $1000 fabric than the lady constantly stalked us in the store hiding on other aisles just to watch and see if we were going to steal something when I just came there to purchase some fabric for my latest collection for my brand called Lvonzfenchy even as a 14 year old fashion designer I could tell when someone doesn’t want a certain race in there store!

They did such an amazing job. I LOVE this fabric store! The selection is completely overwhelming which is why it helps to have some assistance. I have had a positive experience each time Ive visited - with 3 different salespeople, Amparo, Juan and most recently, Victoria. There is every kind of fabric imaginable for the serious couturier or designer. Yes, there are some very high priced fabrics - one of the beaded fabrics I purchased yesterday was $700/yard. Its hand-beaded in Italy - what would you expect to pay for this? I do have to agree that the smell is really strong and it stays with the fabric - I do have to wash all of my fabrics. This is something I do no matter where I order from - you may be surprised to learn that you can wash silks - I use the Laundress products in a lingerie bag - I dont work for them or get compensated for sharing this info, just a tip...Im just happy that I can shop locally and not have to travel to NY to find specialty fabrics so Ill deal with the smell.

The lady who attended us was not only friendly but very helpful, showing all they have. I really recommend this store if you are looking for good fabrics.

There are a few things about this store that are really nice. They have a doorman. This adds to the atmosphere. The entry has the most beautiful fabrics. It smells amazing. The fabrics, especially on the second floor are gorgeous. I was greeted by one lady (didnt get her name, but Ill call her Nice Lady). I looked around and noticed there were not any prices listed. I asked about a fabric that I was interested in. I was told $10.So I proceeded to look around more, before I made my decision. Then I thought how do they know out of the hundreds of fabrics all the different prices. I looked around for a half hour and there wasnt anyone around to ask for prices. The staff all were in the front talking to each other. So I circled back to the EXACT fabric I liked and asked a different person and was told the price was $20.Although the fabrics are beautiful, I dont know what criteria they use to discriminate when making a quote for fabric, but I couldnt bring myself to support this business.

Relatively upscale, high-end store with a tuxedo-clad doorman and sophisticated jazz recorded music playing out in the parking lot. Attentive service, helpful and knowledgeable. No bargain basement here! High quality and high prices, but worth it if you want the finest.

I have been to Rex a few times. Yes, the fabrics there are world class and VERY EXPENSIVE! I do not speak Spanish but found the staff to be bi-lingual. Although, I had to repeat myself several times still looking. I just dont understand why there are no prices on anything. I have come to determine the staff must work on commission and they just make up a price to see your reaction. Are you supposed to haggle over the price? Is this a Latin thing, Im not sure? Im not cheap, Ill pay a premium price for quality fabric, but I sure feel as though Ive been taken advantage of every time I leave there. Ill think twice before returning.

If you are looking for a Tailor made suit to your exact measurements, this is the place to go. As an attorney, I am a professional and in Court constantly. I was long overdue for my first custom suit and couldnt have picked a better place than Rex Fabrics. When other attorneys ask me about my suit, I know Im wearing something that stands out while maintaining professionalism. The even better feeling was showing them the inside where my name was stitched and it clearly shows this suit was made to order, just for me. The staff there is the best. They treat you like a king and make you feel like the only person in the store. They truly know what they are doing and know the value of customer service. I cant tell you how pleased I was to discuss what I was looking for and to hear their advice and suggestions was very helpful. The turnaround time was really fast and as for the product itself, in my opinion, no one compares to what they give you. Simply put, if you are looking to get this done, look no further.

This store used to be a good one I bought fabrics from them in the past but today, I went with my sisters to buy more fabrics, the ladies workers were nice at the beginning and were trying to help. The man at the store tried to force us to buy fabrics for 700$ which was too pricy for our budget, so we started to leave the store but we were shocked by him being rude and screamed at us for not buying. They lost me and my sisters as customers for good . We will find better places to shop at . So watch out people, for the rude owner or a manger.

I love this place! This is the go-to spot in DTLA for your fabrics. It is by far the most organized, biggest, and best selection of fabrics in FL. And if you need help, JUST ASK! They are more than happy to point you in the right direction for whatever you may be looking for.

I went to this store on 6-23-15. One of the oldest associates ask me what I wanted and I replied that I was shopping around, trying to see what fabric to buy (I live in a small town in Tennessee where the only fabric store in miles is Joanns). This lady proceeded to follow me very closely, and I asked her the price of a fabric she said $150. I continued to look at the fabric and notice the price was a lot less than that and I told her. The lady began patronizing me and said: there! This fabric is less expensive!. I felt really bad and said that I wasnt looking a cheap fabric but a good one. She sneered at me, like I was begging for a scrap of fabric. I have bought fabric here before, the ladies has been very helpful and nice. I felt so badly treated that I left the store with empty hands. Sorry to tell you I wont go back. I prefer to spend my money where I feel welcome.

I am a bridal seamstress. I live in the Fort Myers area and travel nearly 3 hours back and forth to go to this store. I have brought my clients into the store to have a say in the price and style of the Laces and other fabric needed to complete their projects. I went to more than a few fabric stores in NYC looking for fabric for my wedding dress. After not finding what I wanted, I decided to stop into Rex during a Miami trip I was on. I literally walked in at 3:15pm and walked out at 3:35pm with the most jaw-dropping fabric that was EXACTLY what I was envisioning. Upon entering, Rossi greeted me, I explained what I was looking for, she thought about it and showed me two options. They were beautiful but not quuuuuiiiiite what I wanted. She then took me downstairs and uncovered THE fabric. I also spoke briefly with the owner who was also very friendly and helpful as Rossi was. I handed over my card happily, relieved and excited. Will definitely return!

As a designer, they don’t give you time to make a decision or to look around. They follow you around literally each step. I’m standing in front of a wall of fabrics and one of the workers are right behind me watching my every move. Very uncomfortable. It’s like you’re rushed to make a purchase. Any other fabric store that I go to I’m in there a while, looking over different fabrics and maybe coming up with ideas for new projects. The 2 times that I’ve been in the store I’m usually rushed out in 10 minutes. Give people time to decide what they would like. Most annoying experience ever and I will not be back. If youre looking for fabric for a small project or for hobby purposes. DO NOT GO to this store. I was planning in going and just looking around til I find something that I liked. But the employee (Male) who assisted me was acting like he didnt care about what I wanted he was just like whatever we only have this.and get done with it. It felt like just because I dont have a lot of knowledge of fabric he just didnt care.I could of keep looking on my own. But from that point on it made me feel stupid and it made me just want to leave.

Last week I visited Rex Fabrics looking for the fabric Pink Peau De Soie to make a dress for the wedding of my sister in law. From the moment I walked into the store I was amazed. Everything was clean and organized. There were presentations of dresses in mannequins that really caught my attention; they were so beautiful! The attention I received was magnificent. In some other places, the employees agglomerate around you to help you and you get stuck in the place without even being able to walk. However, Josefina, a really nice employee, came to me and helped me. The process of selection of the fabric and design of the dress was simple and effective. She made everything easier and I was really satisfied with the service. As soon as I left the store I called my friends who were going to the wedding and didnt have a dress yet and recommended them Rex Fabrics. They are really amazing and good at their jobs.

Massive selection of ribbons, trimmings, buttons, closures, and even studs of all shapes, sizes, and colors. They have a wide variety of prices as well.Since the store is so huge, it might take you a while to really find what youre looking for but it will be worth it in the end.

This place is tacky and tries to come off as fancy with their salespeople but in fact all they do is try to push extremely overpriced fabrics on you without giving you room to breathe. I had a year to look for a dress for my sons wedding of 650 to 700 people nothing for no amount caught my eyes I needed two dresses the stress was more then the wedding it self.
