Florida Engine Rebuilders Corporation is an excellent auto mechanic shop; I went in convinced that my car had a serious engine issue and they gave me honest feedback. It turns out that there was no engine issue but rather an issue with my catalytic converters. It is rare to find an auto mechanic shop that is honest and respectful with their clients and Florida Engine Rebuilders Corporation went above and beyond. If it were not for them, I would have torn my car apart to fix a non-existent problem but they led me down the right path. I am eternally grateful; they saved me time and money! Highly recommend to all!!

I called to ask about rebuilding an engine. The first person I spoke with did not speak English and did not understand my Spanish. The person he put on the line asked me if I had already taken the engine out of my car. Do most of his customers do that? I told him no, and he gave me another number to call. It was a disconnected line.

The mechanics were pleasant answering my questions. Two of the mechanics started looking into the engine diagnosing the problem, will update later.

I have been going to this shop since I was in college. Miguel has always given me fair prices and excellent treatment. The few friends and relatives I have referred, always have been satisfied with their service and prices. Robert, the actual mechanic that does the work is super knowledgeable about fixing cars. If you want a decent mechanic and honest estimates, come here. I am not getting paid for this and Miguel doesnt even know I am giving a review.

I came in blind after finding them via Google Maps. They did the heads on my 97 A4 at a very reasonable cost and very quickly. They would have finished sooner if they didnt have to wait for an Audi-dealership-only part. They even went so far as to replace the crappy Autolite plugs my ex-mechanic (his timing belt mistake brought me to FERCO and cost me nearly $2K) put in with Bosch/OEM and checked my a/c (which turned out to be low on freon) without being asked. Car runs like new, air colder than ever. I LOVE these guys!

***I have added to my review after almost 2 years of having my car rebuilt by the owner Miguel and his mechanic Roberto***[ORIGINAL REVIEW:]I took my 99 Camaro for a complete engine rebuild after finding this shop blindly on Google. In a matter of two weeks, Miguel and his mechanics were able to complete the car, including replacing the block after finding the block was cracked. Besides being the nice and friendly, these people are completely honest. A few months later and my car is running better than new. If you want a job done correctly, then this place is the best to go to.[UPDATED REVIEW 2/8/16:]I first started to feel some sputtering in my car whenever I accelerated too hard, but the problem is that I dont drive rough at all. I drive fairly calmly and gentle, so maybe this problem was going on sooner and I just never realized it.Anyway, I felt sputtering in my car whenever I accelerated too hard and I had terrible gas mileage. After testing to make sure it wasnt bad gas, dirty fuel injectors, or a bad fuel pump, I came to the conclusion that it must be bad spark plugs or bad spark plug wires, BOTH THAT WERE CHANGED 15K MILES AGO. Either way, I passed by the company on my free day and and told the mechanic, Roberto, about my sputtering problem and asked him how much it would be to change the spark plugs. He said something along the lines of I will change the spark plugs if you want me to, but it cant be the spark plugs because I just changed them. I then tell him Did you put Iridium spark plugs? My Camaro cannot take cheap, copper spark plugs (I had called Chevy and they told me my car takes Iridium from factory and will not drive well if it has anything less). He confirms that he put Iridium. Well, okay. I dont have the money to get the car checked and it was over my warranty period, so they wouldnt check it for free.Fast forward about a month or two later and countless testing to fix the sputtering and now my car shakes badly in first gear and reverse. Im not exaggerating, the shaking was BAD.I couldnt take it anymore as I felt I was damaging my car. I take the car to an ASE certified mechanic who just so happen to have the same 4th Gen Camaro as I did. We open the hood and find out that 2 of the spark plug wires were cracked and 1 was completely missing a piece. They had run the spark plug wires between the exhaust headers of my car so they got burnt to a crisp. We also checked the spark plugs because I was convinced it was the wrong spark plugs. Lo and behold, copper plugs that were BURNT. After changing the wires and plugs, my car ran perfect with no sputtering. Now for the first gear and reverse shaking issue. The ASE mechanic tells me thats a sign of a bad flywheel. Now, when the engine was rebuilt, Roberto changed my clutch as he told me it was worn out. So my car has a 15k mile clutch on it. The ASE mechanic told me that when putting a new clutch, you either need a new flywheel or you need to resurface it as it will wear out your clutch faster than normal. They never changed the flywheel or resurfaced it and I never mentioned it to Roberto or Miguel(The shop owner) as this is something I wasnt aware of. Something THEY should have been aware of as THEY ARE A MECHANIC AND MECHANIC SHOP OWNER.I called Miguel to tell him that I will pay him to change the flywheel, but I will NOT pay him for a new clutch as it was THEIR mistake. They refused to provide the clutch free of charge because the warranty is only for 1 year and it is going to be almost 2 years. Now Im wondering what else they messed up in my car. I paid them over $4,000 for them to make my car worse and for them to not take responsibility for their mistakes. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING, NOT EVEN TO CHANGE YOUR OIL BECAUSE THEY MAY JUST PUT WATER IN IT AND TELL YOU THEY PUT OIL.
