What happened to the frieze? This was consistently excellent iced cream. Had genuine flavor and great texture. Did they change owners? Just had it for the first time since the pandemic and the mint chocolate chip was sickly sweet and the texture was just … off. Hope they go back to what was truly great!UPDATE 11/21: after going back in one more time recently I found out they did change owners this past summer. From this last visit the shop was very dirty and looked like a teenager’s bedroom behind the counter - dirt and mess everywhere. Not clean at all. The sales clerk mentioned a lot of the ice cream is not made there anymore, and some now contains egg. I tried an “original” flavor and it was beyond sickly sweet. So sad to lose this incredible institution …
This place is incredible! I always get the cookies and cream and it is so so good. They’re usually open pretty late which is also great. I think they make the icecream right at the store. So delicious and fresh. The price is a little high but definitely cheaper than other spots nearby. Worth it!
Ive been going to the freeze since 1994 tje best but since the pandemic not been the same there coconut ice cream the best never have it anymore and no choice of cones just cake cone they blame pandemic but dont understand hopefully the owner sees this and fixes things
We had a pretty bad experience here. We ordered a soft serve ice cream and it was melting so much that it dripped through the cone... this is why we went with their hard ice cream. We got the pistachio and almond I believe, which was too sweet. We also got a scope of cookies and cream and it was pretty disappointing too. I would not recommend this place.
Never been to an ice cream place that did not let you sample the ice cream before you got it. The lyche non dairy sorbe was not good. If they would’ve let me sampled it, I would’ve got something I like. And they will not be getting a bad review. 🤷🏾
Reliably good ice cream, worth an occasional splurge, but finding it hard to justify the price anymore...
I stop by everytime Im in Miami. Ive never had a bad experience. The snickers ice cream is delicious. Parking right across the street, and a variety of great restaurants within easy walking distance.
Very nice employee. Complimented my jeans, which I just got and spent a lot of money on so that was appreciated. I saw a lot of people on here complaining about customer service and wait times so just wanted to add that context. There was also no wait on Saturday midday though it was only 70 degrees out.Ice cream was very good. Got a scoop of peanut butter with a fudge stripe and chocolate chips. Ice cream was creamy, fudge and chocolate chips were quality. Nice crunch on the chocolate chips. Sometimes fudge can taste cheap this strip did not.
The music is excellent, and the WiFi connection is quite quick. The ambience is calm and relaxing.
I drive down 40min at least once a week to come here. Ice cream is so good. Especially the sorbet!
Love the ice cream. But... Inconsistent closing time. Advertised as closing Midnight. Came tonight at 11:25, it was already closed. Happened before too ... please post correct store hours. Thanks
Tasty shakes with great presentation. Everyone looked impressed as I walked down the strip with my fancy shake.
Ordinary ice cream at best, super expensive. Never again - thanks.
I have been coming here since birth and even worked here. I can honestly say that it was the best place to work and even more so cause of the icecream. Im alittle torn because the taste in some icecream and sorbets were SO GOOD a year ago and now.... its like its gone down in quality of ingredients. They still keep it homemade which is why they stand out from others. I just wish the taste was like before. That was the best part of coming to the frieze. PLEASEEEE DO SOMETHING! BRING BACK THE OLD FLAVORS!!😖😭
Butter pecan is the best ice cream I ate in my entire life!
Literally the worst milk shake I’ve ever had. Completely watery. High schooler behind the counter didn’t know how to use the whipped cream bottle. Mediocre icecream for ridiculous price. Don’t even bother.
Hands down best ice cream in MIA! All cream, no fillers, just the right amount of sugar and quality ingredients.
Had some vanilla ice cream with some Dr. Browns soda and it was amazing.
Flavor and size was okay for the price though it’s expected to be pricier since they’re paying to be around the beach. Not something I’d go back to but they do have a variety of flavors. Their champagne infused sorbet is good.
Love it! They have my favorite ice cream! Grapenut!!! This takes me back to my Panama days.
Says store is open until 1 am. I came on vacation from Texas at midnight and the girl behind the counter was super rude and said they were closed. Get your act together and have the correct hours online so you don’t waste people’s time to come here and if your door is open don’t tell people you are closed..
The staff there is rude and unprofessional. One of them told me the vegan ice cream was soy based when it was actually almond based. I know they are teenagers but they should receive allergy training before starting the jobs. Don’t go there if you are at risk for allergic reactions.
Creamy ice cream, but don’t try the almond-pistachio flavour. The almond extract is overpowering.
High prices for bad quality and bad service, also ice cream was melting from inside the freezer. Worst thing, I asked if my son and I could sit down and eat the ice cream. The kid said, no I dont think so. Its not my first time here, so I can tell there has been some changes. Maybe new owners.
This is the best place to try Persian ice cream. My favorites are Saffron rose-water, Turkish coffee and Dates ice cream.
Dude was super cool. And great service
This is by far the best spot to grab ice cream or sorbet in Miami Beach! Very popular among locals and has been here for decades. They use real fruit for their sorbet and no artificial flavors or colors. Highly recommend it!Extra bonus they are kosher!!
Cookies and creme is amazing!
First time here. Guylo is honestly the best guy in the world! So patience and great personality. Have great recommendations
Really rich, creamy, and tasty ice cream. Worth the visit.
Best ice cream in Miami Beach, quite possibly in the world. I never tasted better ice cream before, not even in Italy.Very unique flavors and all made in house. Also fantastic for lactose intolerant people. Try the tamarind sorbet and the milk free chocolate and peanutbutter flavors. Fantastic!
Awesome ice cream Lucuma and strawberry
The best ice cream in Miami beach
Ice cream good, service terrible. HIRE MORE PEOPLE.
One of the best ice cream stops in South Beach! Homemade strawberry was excellent, and the lemon sorbet was delicious. Real strawberry and lemon taste in every bite! Definitely will make this a regular stop to try all of the flavors. Nothing like a long standing ice cream spot with quality homemade flavors.
Wonder ice cream shop. This ice cream shop is small but the staff members are so friendly and kind to everyone. The prices are fair and definitely the best in Miami. My girlfriend and I visited another ice cream shop down the street after stopping by here and that was a big mistake. Troy served us while we were there and he sets the mood for the establishment. Keep up the good work.
Very very very good vegan ice cream!! So good that I spent $20 for a quart! I dont know about the dairy flavors, but the vegan is beyond great. Most ice cream places have a sorbet as their vegan flavor, but not this place. I DEFINITELY will be returning on every trip to South Beach!

31 years a Miami Beach Resident and supporter of The Frieze . I often frequent this shop for a quick delicious treat, as they truly have the best ice cream on the beach, however the service is not superb. The workers are primarily high school kids. Some HS kids are industrious and have a good sense of service or at least prides their work, however these kids are immature and irresponsible. They hang up the phone when you call to clarify online orders, they get the online orders incorrect almost always, as well as speaking to customers inappropriately. I have yet to see someone of management as I truly love this place but its lacks the attention Necessary to be successful.
Love their Blood Orange Sorbet. The Passion Fruit Sorbet. Got a two scoop for $5 in a cup cone. Also cant go wrong with the ice cream sandwiches!Parking is a little tough. They have a small lot that gets full since street parking on the residential streets ends at 6pm. Theres also meter parking on Beverly that you pay for until 8pm.
I usually don’t write bad reviews because it’s easier to stop spending my money with bad businesses. However, I was particularly offended with my interaction or lack thereof interaction, as I waited 15mins without acknowledgement after saying hi and listened to the young lady at the register converse with an lady customer that had already paid, talk about setting up a skating date. The audacity. I will never support this business again. And I would hate to think that I wasn’t acknowledged because of my skin color, being a black man. I’m really disappointed because I really enjoyed your ice cream but I refuse to not even be acknowledged while, continuing to have a full conversation as if I was not there. That’s my two cents. This took place on 3/7/2020 2pm.
My comedic partner and I got lost and could not find our Pokémon raiding group. They were eating, we were not. We decided to have dinner here. We chose a 3 course meal using the ice cream this fancy restaurant has to offer. The waiters are incredibly friendly and hospitable. They helped choose a filling meal and we were able to have meat, fruits a side and drink all in ice cream form. The table near the window was chosen for us once the large family let the building. The window gave us a great view at all the city night life. They allow this poor deaf lady to ask for help and well after reading her card, we gladly assisted her. This restaurant is amazing and all should come here for dinner.
Good service and great ice cream. They also have a great perks program, I get something free almost every other time.
A local favorite, family-owned and operated for decades. Homemade ice cream and sorbet with classic and adventurous flavors. The Frieze Ice Cream Factory is tops. My wife and I even took some of our engagement photos here!Pro-tip: Go for the Get Down Boogie Oogie Cookie. Hands down the best version of cookies and cream ice cream I’ve had — globally.
The place to go inMichigan Ave. for ice cream... be patient... always a line but worth the wait. A ton of variety and quality!
I love this place. The icecream is delicious
Good ice cream definitely a must especially walking around Lincoln Rd! Theyre waffles are good too. Great to beat Florida weather
Great ice cream, glad you guys were open!
I love the brownie sundae, its huge and soooooo tasty, I get it every time! and I agree with the other review, the place smells like heaven!
The girl with the septum piercing is adorable and is the nicest person I ever met, she needs a raise!!!
OMG!!!! I did not need to know about this place. So good. Im from Hawaii and whenever I visit my son in FL I drag him to The Frieze Ice Cream Factory for an ice cream cookie sandwich. Line or not Im getting one. Its worth the extra workout.
The oldest and most authentic ice cream parlor in Miami Beach. They produce their own ice-cream at their Little Havana factory. Awesome flavors, good service and nice location, just off Lincoln Road.
Amazing vegan ice cream! I absolutely loved the “vegan cookies” flavor! I appreciate you guys having vegan options :)
Good service and great ice cream. They also have a great perks program, I get something free almost every other time.
Hours are incorrect....ubered out for ice cream and it was closed!
Food was so tasty. Definitely worth a return visit. Prices were fair.
HORRIBLE SERVICE. The short haired girl at the market location in the ice cream truck today had a rude attitude to me when she got my order wrong. It was my first and last time there. Told her to keep the ice cream and left after her rudeness. There’s plenty of ice cream places around here so no need to put up with horrible customer service. Hope she gets fired.
Ice cream fell flat in my mouth, it just didn’t take me there. On a Saturday night while strolling around Lincoln Road mall, we decided to get some yummy ice cream. We walked and walked and skipped some ice cream shops we had already been to because we wanted something a little more elevated. A little less average. Our friends found this spot and after checking out all the reviews, almost a 5 star review, we came to The Frieze!Their ice creams have zero preservatives nor additives. That right there is what drew us in! They also have a whole section of dairy free too.Customer service: deserves way more than 5 starsIce cream: 3 starsLet me explain myself. As soon as we walked in we were greeted (all 9 of us). They kindly and patiently explained to us how their menu worked and how their ice creams were made. They let each one of us taste at least 5 flavors without getting annoyed or flustered about it (like every other idea cream shop gets). It was a young crowd serving ice cream, they were extremely accommodating and welcoming. They’re the reason why I ordered my cone!Ok, so the ice cream, this is what you want to know about right? I have no complaints about it, I’m honestly happy with it and relieved to know that it’s zero preservatives, it’s untouched, the way it should be. Unfortunately, I’ve had way better explosions in my mouth with ice cream from other locations. This ice cream was good, it was edible, it also wasn’t too cheap. For a $7+ waffle cone with two scoops, I kind of expect more. It’s not about the price, it’s about the experience in my mouth. My taste buds were the judge and they weren’t impressed. I honestly would love to give these guys 5 stars but truthfully I just can’t.Would I go back to eat ice cream here? No. It’s nothing personal, just with so many other choices this didn’t impress me. Kudos to you guys for being preservative free, my thing is enhance what you have! Make me addicted so I can come back!I don’t regret coming here, it was fun! If I find myself in the same are again I most likely will not pick this place first. Cool spot, for pics, for ice cream art, for ice cream. You might love it, so try it for yourself.IMPORTANT DETAIL: almond pistachio flavor was delicious! Not the best pistachio I’ve ever had but definitely good!
Sign says open until 1 am. Came at 12 am and was refused service. Employee was rude.
I love the Frienze
The best ice cream Ive eaten
We had the Indian mango. Was quite good. Will definitely visit again to try other flavors.
My girlfriend and I went in and waited ten minutes just to watch the guy in front of us sample each flavor. Meanwhile the small shop was getting crowded with awaiting customers and an annoying and impatient Mom who was trying to skip ahead of us. The second worker just sat in the back not helping the crowded store. Mr. Bings is a lot better don’t waste your time here with workers that don’t care about your time.
The quality of ice cream is not good.
Every flavor is amazing, and the staff totally understands your need to sample before making such an important decision!
It was my first time there and I loved it, the ice cream was delicious and the girl was super nice
Really great unique flavors. Staff was great and quick. I believe I had champagne flavored ice cream. They also had corn and other neat flavors.
Easy to rate! Five stars in any aspect. So good!!! Im definitely recommend
Great ice cream place. Awesome traditional flavors and fruit sorbets. Never been disappointed.
Ice cream was just OK. The smallest size Sundae was over $8.00, had practically no topping/sauce, and was served in a flimsy plastic, not insulated beer cup, while substantially less expensive scoops of ice cream were served in traditional wide, sturdy insulated cups. Huh? To boot, service was atrocious. I was mid-way through placing my order, after a server asked me what I would like, when the server allowed some rude, ill-manored tourist to barge in, interrupt, shove me aside, and order, not only her own, but also two additional ice cream orders for her companions. I took the high road and waited through it all to finally complete placement of my order, left a generous tip in the gigantic, not to be missed or ignored tip box and was then disappointed to receive the non-insulated flimsy plastic beer cup full of mediocre ice cream with nearly no sundae sauce. It was simply OK in taste and creamy-ness and quickly melted into a puddle. Choose one of the many nearby alternatives.
The frieze is THE BEES KNEES! Looking for gluten free? Got it. Vegan alternative? Check. Religious dietary restrictions? Its all CERTIFIED KOSHER!!! HALELUJAH! But seriously, friendly, personable staff. Short wait times. Killer music. And the freshest, most decident ice creams and sorbets ever. You can not go wrong here.
OMG, so good 🍨, very creamy, not that sweet and they have surprise flavours and also the old favs. A hidden gem in SoBe just a few steps of Lincoln Rd.
Good ice cream, in a small place with friendly staff
The experience was an atomic explosion of flavors and goodness with every spoonful. It wasnt just the first time it was every last drop. If the spoon I used was edible I would above are that too.
I liked the person who worked there, but the ice cream itself was nothing special.
Simple and delicious. Not a lot of good ice cream places around this area. Vegan vanilla was fantastic as well.
Been here once with my girlfriend. We had a good time, thought it was okay. Nothing special, Ive had better.
Amazing vegan sorbet but they could use a few more options like coffee.
Cute little ice cream shop in Miami Beach. Banana Rama was excellent, the perfect blend of chocolate, vanilla and banana.
Is this real ice cream or is it sugar syrup, and just ice with a crazy concoction of leftover kids cereal and more sugar? Way too sweet; in fact my dental work began to tingle due to the over-saturation of sugar.
Friendly happy atmosphere super lick delicious ice cream!!!
A Lincoln Road original. An ice cream soda float is a classic way to go. Funky art. Heres hoping it isnt pushed out by a national chain!
