Fairly a large establishment. The market carries food items from various countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Korea, Japan and Philippines. Nice location for all in shopping. The produce is fresh. I guess they carry produce from several countries because the Mekong River is shared by above countries. The place is clean no doubt it. The only hiccup is the prices could more than other establishments. The meat products also above the average price. The staff is nice. And the decor is dainty.
One of the best supermarkets I been to in Arizona. Plenty of choices. However, I rather not buy the fruits because many of them I bought ended up in the trash because they dont ripe right. Fruits look nice but not taste right at all. Other than that, great prices and offers many other things like live caught seafoods.
We had such a great time. It was a good find. #thankstiktok. I wish there were more authentic stores at the plaza. The supermarket had everything we could think of and more! Fish and meat looked fresh. Market was clean. Staff was nice and helpful. We ate dinner at the restaurant in the food court and then had the rolled ice cream just down the hall. Well worth the short drive.
Diversity of Foods. Mekong, somehow the brand is written as New World in Chinese. First, it is an Asian supermarket, like 99 Ranch and H-Mart (in west coast, e.g. California, Portland and Seattle). More of a grocery store for dim sum and foods, this particular one is packed with all sorts of international cuisines. Found typical Chinese Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, and more. The food court is also full of Chinese restaurants from different regions and styles. For any family, just looking around could be a great fun!
I absolutely love Mekong Supermarket. I’ve been shopping there since 2010. They have everything and the prices are great.I generally purchase produce, rice and seafood there and I generally fill a whole cart for under $100. The owners and management are friendly and helpful and they are great community partners!
Mekong market is a no nonsense Asian grocery store with a great live fish department. Hard to beat. Just be patient though, what you want is likely there, you may have to hunt for it and ask for help. Great prices, could have a better layout, but, as an Asian market, it absolutely gets its job done.
The market is more than just shopping at a very good market and plaza. The shoppers are highly diverse and in my experience warm, friendly and helpful. In most markets, viewing the appearance, is similar to having experienced a tornado. I always see stockers but not an army of employees picking things off the floor or things dropped where they are not kept. I cant comment on prices because of all the plusses and partially because of a very generous military discount. They are virtually always busy but always have enough cashiers and lines move quickly. At other markets I have had many rude cashiers. Never a mistake or any issue with a Mekong Supermarket cashier. My thinking is Mekong is a solid business with no gimmicks or tricks. Other markets I see produce that is not in even acceptable condition. Not once at Mekong Market. For myself, one of my favorites has been the mix of cultures as shoppers. Today a stocker helped me locate things at least 3 times. He took me to the items. Mekong Market offers service unlike most places today.
I love this place. I am only in Phoenix for school and I am away from my family. This is one of the only places in this city that makes me feel kinda at home and connected to my culture. I actually live on the complete other side of town but the 30 min drive is worth it. Gives me something to do/look forward to. ❤
Always like coming and looking around and finding something new to try. But always get my staples as well store is clean no nasty smells staff is friendly. Produce is always an adventure for me to try something new this time it was a Pomelo and it was great!
Love love love this place. Wanted to surprise my Korean fiance with octopus stir fry, and this place had everything I needed, and then some.
We love going to Mekong Supermarket to get our fresh seafood to cook our Boils. We get our seasoning and fresh produce to complete the process I love the variety of international foods for our other eating enjoyment also. The staff have always been friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable.
We have shopped at all the Asian supermarkets in the area, and none can beat Mekong Supermarket. They have the most variety of sauces, noodles, and dry goods of any other supermarket. Also, their fresh seafood is excellent. I like that they give veterans discount, plus 10% off.
Its a beautiful Asian supermarket with a strip mall style plaza that has great restaurants and other shops all centered around Asian culture. Hengs kitchen is a great Chinese restaurant and the dumplings at happy boa are amazing. Well talk supermarket always has good sales usually runs 10% off select items almost every day You also have a fantastic produce section
Good place to buy Asian grocery. Liked Tea Tavern it was good.
A fantastic selection of Asian foods. If youve never been youre in for a treat. From Mirin to live clams, varieties of chili crisp, honey butter potato chips, or propane burners for outdoor wok cooking, this place is legit. They will sell you a whole fish, clean it, chip it, and deep fry it for you. Great produce too.
Found Vietnamese French press to make that delicious coffee and it was half the price from most other places. And found delicious coconut goodies and chocolate ones too. See pics. Great place for spicy Ramen and all kinds of noodles. Love its connected to my favorite pho place: unphogettable! Best pho in AZ! Amazing service as well.
Phenomenal stores. Such delicious options to choose from and neat little stores. A one stop shop for all your needs!
Always a wonderful experience to stroll through and shop at the stores here at Mekong Plaza. The centerpiece is of course the supermarket but the variety of shops and eateries make this an enjoyable place to spend the afternoon.
This place is like being back in Asia. Its very well stocked with everything you would need to feel at home. Great verity of produce that is fresh, especially the fruit. This is the largest Asian market I have been in.
Need organic food, this is the place you need to shop, not too expensive for what you get👍
We love checking out international supermarkets. So many new things to try. This trip we were looking for spicy mustard. And found it and more.
I went for Galangal, which was prices well and in a good quantity. I was impressed by the other produce there. They had a lot of different types of produce there, including very large jackfruit. I will definitely go back there again.
Hands down the go-to spot for groceries and meat/fish except for goat meat. The plaza has lots of other spots - restaurants, nail salons, ice cream joints and others.
Good place with good prices and selection. It is large too. Good produce and fish selection.
Very kind staff!! Never had a bad experience here. Came here once after a very stressful day at work and left feeling a lot better :)
This is the only Asian market worth going go. Good prices and they have absolutely everything you can need.
Had to go, I saw this place on tiktok. We bought these things at 3 different places. With the lemon bread we also had a bun with pork. We ate that so no picture 😁. The noodles tasted just like lo mein. the egg rolls were so packed with goodness. Always wanted to try BAO, small but filling. Got some spring rolls (sorry no pictures) the were the most photogenic tho. Fresh and crisp. Never had vietnamese food before but it wont be my last
Can’t beat the prices on produce, especially the best price by far in shallots. When in season you can’t beat the price on rainier cherries! By far the best prices in the valley!
We traveled all the way from Queen Creek and it was worth it. The Supermarket was a cool experience, we shopped every aisle. The staff must be commended for their polite attentiveness and help for me being wheelchair bound. There is a very wide variety of Asian foods, snacks, drinks and exotic fruits, go! TOTALLY worth it. I must also recommend Tea Snow & Coffee, delicious Matcha smoothie yummm...
Everything you need for Asian cooking/recipes youll find here.Clean, organized. Meats, seafood, asian vegetables, dry goods. Great prices @Mekong Supermarket. Simply the best!!!
An excellent place to get any variety of Oriental ingredients for your cooking pleasure. In the back is an outstanding large restaurant that serves wonderful food all day. Theyre dim sum is Excellent.
Ugh, I’m at Mekong Palace right now and the service was good and the food was really delicious, until the dreadful discovery of a hair in my food. I didn’t mention anything until the waiter noticed I stopped eating abruptly. I pointed to the hair and the waiter said, “What do you want me to do, I don’t work in the kitchen. Hair in food happens. I can offer you a discount.” Well, for the record, I don’t want a discount. I want clean delicious food. Thumbs down on this restaurant for me, which is unfortunate because the food is really appetizing. : (
Clean, organized, so many selections to choose from. Their produce is fresh, theres a wide variety of herbs, vegetables, mushrooms, and all kinds of fruits. They have a large selection of spices, noodles of all types, desserts, breads, drinks, and household items like dishes, brooms, incense, soap, and personal care. Their meat and seafood department is clean and organized. They also have live fish, and crustaceans to choose from. They will catch, clean and prepare them for you. When you walk in, you dont smell any fishiness in the air, in spite of the live fish and seafood available. This is one of my favorite supermarkets, I drive about 45 minutes to shop at Mekong Supermarket... Its worth the drive.
Be careful of thieves using your line to get out, they might have something to scan in and add it to your groceries and will get away with it. The operator will not even mind what is going on, they do not really care. Always look, the store do not have enough security to monitor what is going on at the line. do not let anyone get into your que and trying to get out. most likely they are thieves.
Asian groceries and food court galore to suit ones taste from the orient. Has many variety shops, even dental, insurance agency as well as a unisex salon with excellent staff of courteous hairdressers at affordable prices.
Always love the selection. It is hard to find ingredients at other places, so this is one of my favorite stops
I love this shopping center! There are myriad different restaurants to choose from and various curio shops to peruse. Its a great place to eat and wander.
I never come on to make reviews but I could not forgive this one. We had the worst customer service today from an older woman (cashier) who flipped a switch when my 80 yr old grandpa politely said “i dont think that was ours” after she scanned an item but my mom instantly corrected him and told her don’t worry it is. she stopped bagging items and threw them down at him for him to yelling I ONLY HAVE 2 HANDS. 2 HANDS. repetitively. After she was done aggressively scanning items she packaged the item he had mistaken and handed it to him and said “here MUSHROOM CRAZY.” There was more in the encounter but I was so upset when I left seeing the abnormally insane behavior she performed towards a gentle 80 year old saying one thing. Me and my mom were boiling in anger that we could not even open our mouths. After leaving, I instantly called management and talked to Ryan which is why I did not give this 1 star. Ryan was very polite. He understood and listened to everything I had to say and told me he would address her and make sure this doesn’t happen again. He apologized multiple times and made sure we did not overpay or leave without everything we paid for. Thank you Ryan for being very respectful about the situation.
Its got like haunted house vibes but the stores are 👍great
Well if you want to experience a different shopping experience come here. Foods all across the world nestled in one store no bigger than a quick trip. Come for the treats stay for the vacuum packed stingrays. No buy seriously check out this market and the surrounding eateries.
If you are into cultural food then definitely check this place out. Going through the main entrance brings you to a super market, but walk down the hall and its like a mini Chinatown. Emphasis on mini, but so worth spending the time to look at everything. I saw everything and ate some great food in about three and a half hours.
My mother is going to the hospital right now because she recieved food poisoning from this place. Where is the health department? We bough mussels from here which mustve been contaminated and spoiled. Disgusting place.
I didnt know this place was here, its a nice change to normal dining out
Always an adventure. :) My Mom and I always find fun places for lunch in the main building, and then we shop for all our Asian ingredients in the market portion of the store. We love to try new things and explore new flavors. (Its a good place for that.) Usually good meat & seafood prices. Cute dishes & also little home oddities. Always decently priced produce as well.
This has a lot of creature comforts for me. It reminds me of other Little Saigon shopping centers around the US.The boba place is FANTASTIC and the dim sum hits the spot and then some.
I have been shopping here for a few years. I always find what I am looking for as well as some unusual items. I highly recommend. It does tend to be crowded on the weekends though.
BE CAREFULI almost bought dinnerware, until I saw the sticker on the bottom that saidMay cause reproductive harm or cancerDecided to go elsewhere
Went here looking for Asian food. The variety of restaurants was a great selections. We are at the Boa restaurant. It was very good. The bubble tea place was very reasonably priced.
Awesome market yes smelly but thats how you know they got the good stuff. Being my first time there navigating through isles looking for dry goods can be a challenge they have some comfort foods that I grew up eating in Hawaii
Absolutely best Asian market they have just about everything you need to make thai Chinese or Japanese cuisine fresh veggies kefir lime leaves galang ginger etcHave great little hidden gem restaurants too
Great fresh fish and assortment of Asian goods. Excellent choices although youre on your own as staff is mostly clueless on finding what you want.
Great place to shop. Prices were a bit high. Staff was friendly.
Great store I see everything u need but I dont understand bcuz is in Chinese or Vietnam language 😁🤭😅. But everything is great.
Over all, the marketplace is really nice with many stores and restaurants. The Mekong Supermarket itself is also great for frozen items, and very good for fresh produce and fresh fish. They dont carry sushi grade fish however. The general selection of snacks, rice, etc leaves a bit to be desired though. Besides huge fish, meat and produce sections, the rest is a wide variety of product categories, but. It many options within each. In some cases only one brand of something, or only two shelves of ramen.
Its got a ton of food places, and the market itself is so cool!! Lots of fish and fresh meats as well as a wide selection of fresh fruits, and vegetables.
Always fun. great boba, food and more
This place is really great! Love all the exotic foods and snacks here! Some things to note: the bathrooms arent amazing but they are functional, the employees dont speak good English but some know enough to get by.
Try thi experience. Meat prices are great and they have everything. Low prices
Mekong is the largest Asia Mraket in the Phoenix area . The seafood selection here is excellent and very cheap. You will see fresh fishes, lobsters, crabs are swimming around. Large section of Asia groceries. I come here for fresh vegetables and some special tropical fruits such as Rambotan, Durian, Dragon fruit, Jack fruit.. they are all my favorites !😊
Not crowded on Thursday, the service at the butcher shop was awesome, he was quick and efficient
I love coming here. So many interesting items for sale. I even bought a whole durian! I highly recommend the coconut toast.
Great place to find thing ir looking.for especially if your from hawaii
Well kept up. Loads of of different spices and cooking ideas
This was my first time here and it was wonderful market inside a very nice and decent sized mall. It had a lot of great produce and wonderful prices!
Really good fish if you want fresh Cod fish comes in every day freshly
We love getting our international variety of foods at Mekong.

09272021 really had a nice time walking around the store and seeing stuff not normally seen in the neighborhood store,,,had a great time trying to imagine how some of the stuff is eaten...
Produce and fish 🐟 selection best in Phoenix area. Bitter melon, chayote squash, zucchini, Persian cucumber, this time
You go to this place for the experience. Its surrounded by restaurants so after you go buy your favorite itema from the grocer you can visit one of the many places next door.
A convenient place to find Asian groceries. The building also has various businesses, fast food and sit-in restaurants.
This place has it all! Huge store, great satellite stores, and a fantastic bakery for pork buns!
This was a great supermarket just too far from our house
The Mekong Supermarket is located in the Mekong Plaza on Dobson and Main Street in Mesa Arizona. It has every kind of Chinese Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, Filipino food that you could ever want or need. I was astounded by the tons of different kinds of meat they cut up and all of the fish. There must have been 25 different fish that I never heard of. Its loud in there, its noisy, but its incredibly authentic. It is not the cleanest place on earth but if you want something Asian, some remote delicacy or something to add to a dish its the perfect place where you could buy anything your little heart desires. I have been to the Mekong Plaza about 7 times over the years and I never noticed this humongous supermarket inside. The produce section is very extensive with fruits from all over the world. As a Westerner I was shocked even though I have been to China before Ive never seen so much food and sauces and desserts in my life. Delicacies seemingly appearing in every counter with rows and rows of aisles where food is semi prepared, guy raw or fully cooked. You should see the millions of options that are available in this supermarket. I wonder why if theyre regulated by the FDA and if theyve been inspected for cleanliness because especially behind the meat and seafood counter I cant imagine it being clean. Why Pay $5,000 plus airfare to go to China when you could get the same feeling just driving up Dobson and landing in Little China in Mesa Arizona who would have ever thought that possible. I cant really say theres any customer service in here because people are barking and screaming to get what they want. I watched a older female in the produce department completely scream and bully a young girl that was working for her. I felt horrible for the young worker so I went up to the girl and I told that was not right and she said oh I get this every day. This woman who works there in a administrative role was bullying and yelling at this poor worker. Otherwise the food seemed fresh. They adjusted my order when I asked so everything seemed to to go smoothly this time!!
