This place is so full of historic items from World War One, Two, the Korean War, Vietnam, and all of the Iraq and Afghanistan military endeavors that it makes one proud to be an American. I salute you George and offer my respect to you and all who venture into History by George in Mesa, Arizona.

I called earlier to see if George was interested in some of my parents WW2 memorabilia. I appreciate his direct, complete answers based in knowledge and experience. He wasnt interested in the items and thank him for respectful no nonsense 👍

George, you have an amazing shop with lots of amazing historical pieces, but you need to work on your customer service skills. I understand that most people my age seldom express interest in history and its treasures, but I was being labeled and judged from the moment I walked inside just for being a younger guy. I was interested in some of the misc helmets and the Hitler youth knives but he started refusing to show me what I was asking to see because he didnt think I was going to buy anything, which ultimately ended up being the case by his own volition. I guess that was a good thing in the end because I ended up finding a neat US WWII era helmet at another store for less money.

Great store! I’ve been meaning to go in here for a long time. His cell number is on the door and I called him to find if he was coming in today. He informed me he would be there in 10 minutes. I ended up buying a knife of his and I’m happy with my purchase.

He has an awesome collection but his prices are way too high and hes not very welcoming. He probably saw that I was only in my mid 20s and immediately assumed that I wasnt going to buy anything (even though I was) and made me feel stupid and inferior, so I took my business elsewhere and ended up finding the same item in similar condition for cheaper the next day.

Dont waste your time with this place!! If you have specific items you want like for example individual coin capsules the owner will refuse to even sell them to you he will keep going one about what he thinks you needs when in fact it is not needless to say we took our buisness elsewhere and we ended up spending well over $1000 on a place that did not keep insisting on us getting items we didnt need or want!

I went in to get a value for some French stamps on the recommendation of a friend. I had spent hours online trying to gauge their worth. George knew at a glance the years they were released and in what series, etc. He then verified the info in a huge catalog of different countries and stamps. He definitely knows stamps so I recommend him if you have questions on stamp values, but what I also liked is he had a piece of history to go with every item I brought in. He truly lives up to his business name - History by George. Also if you are looking for a unique gift then this is the place to go. There were so many beautiful womens vanity items that caught my eye - truly unique and feminine. You are sure to find something different and unique for men and women of all ages. And the History by George makes the experience memorable.
