This was my first time at the Ikea in KC. The store is clean, the employees were very nice, and we thoroughly enjoyed just looking around. We did end up getting a few things to take back home to NE. Its probably a good thing we had kids with us to hurry us up out of the store, or we could have bought so much more. I definitely recommend Ikea for anyone looking to furnish their home.
First time visiting an Ikea and I gotta say, its amazing. The amount of stuff that they sell is insane and the prices are really not bad at all. The kitchen is also pretty nice, with the classic Swedish meatballs that everyone always talks about being as delicious as Ive heard. Overall, great place to shop for furniture and related items.
Love love love IKEA!!! WAS JUST LOOKING FOR SOME STORAGE BINS AND SUCH. OF COURSE YOU ALWAYS FIND OTHER THINGS YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE!!! WISHED IT WAS CLOSER TO BLUE SPRINGS!!!
There should be signs that are easy to see and clear to read for all individuals. Signs for a clear and easy exit on all levels, online pick-up when entering the store. No one should have a panic attack in a store because they cannot find their way out, or figure out how to get their items. I have already had issues getting items from the store in shipping figures it would be easier picking up. Boy was I wrong...
I would give 5 stars because the wonderful people who work at IKEA, especially Nancy. She is wonderful and helped me so much while trying to get this couch. It ended up amazing in my living room and i just couldn’t stop looking at how awesome it turned out to be.
I went to IKEA for the first time today. I have heard stories and thought I was prepared for what was in store...I was NOT!!! 😁 This place is huge and has so many options its unreal. I felt overwhelmed and lost within 3 minutes of entering the store. We didnt get through half of the store so we are making arrangements to come back.
LOVE this store! So many unique, fun items at very affordable prices. Could shop here every day.
Dont waste your gas driving far. You will leave with mostly NOTHING. Nothing in store to buy. Its like a freaking museum. They didnt even have cinnamon rolls. Sadness.
Very clean store. IKEA is the best. The staff was very friendly and helpful!
It was a wonderful place to shop. I had lunch there and it was great. The food was good and the prices are right. I bought a lot of stuff in the store cuz the prices are so good and the selection is terrific. The sales help is knowledgeable and helpful, they are also very pleasant to deal with. The checkout is a dream, they help you if you have a problem.. even though its self checkout. I recommend Ikea for anyone in the market for furniture, housewares, or remodeling. You cant go wrong with Ikea....
My first experience at IKEA was simply magical. I was immediately captivated by the finger puppets and vast variety of stuffed animals on display. However, I was saddened to find this beautiful husky chained to a table by the belly, and I did consider calling PETA. Despite this injustice, IKEA is now my second home.
Ikea is like a tourist site for us. No matter how many times we go, we never get bored because the arrangements they have made are like that. Those who work there should be commended. Everything I have on the kitchen side is cute to look at and I have all kinds of items for the kitchen. Furniture materials are of high quality and durable. We got good discount on study table and rolling chair here. Nowhere else is it available as standard and cheap. Another favorite area of mine is the garden area. We have bamboo, money plant, aloe vera, succulent and pink anthurium none of these have withered and are growing well. You can rely on any products here. It is difficult to bring children back if they go to the kids area. The variety of light types, floor mats, bathroom and bedroom items, photo frames, candles, and cute model homes are all awesome. Recently we ordered a dining table with 4 chairs for $139. It is good quality and good wood. We loved it ❤. For that, we bought 4 cushions($4.99 per cushion) from ikea. They have 3 or more collections of cushions. It was very good price and quality. Dont miss it. You cant but anywhere outside. Corner table ($9.99) is very much helpful. It is simple and beautiful. We bought 7 😁because I love those tables.
I love shopping at IKEA and this wasn’t my first trip to this one nor will it be my last, but it will be awhile. The shelves, bins, etc were either empty or close to it. See pic. What was there was scattered, disorganized, etc. I went with a list and ended up with one item on my list. I’ve never walked having purchased only three items but I did yesterday. The staff was sparse - not their fault, I know. My sister wanted to buy a living room rug and needed help as there was no info posted on sizes and prices. Finally snagged an employee who was very helpful. When she got to the checkout, she was told she couldn’t buy the rug because it was a floor model. The rug employee had given the OK. Now it was time to page the poor guy. Luckily for him rugs are near checkout. Then she was told if she joined friends and family, she’d cut a chunk off the price. To do so, she had to sign up through their app. Ever tried to use the WiFi in IKEA? Impossible. She eventually found an employee who suggested she just use a kiosk. Would have been good to know that about 15 minutes sooner. Signage would have been good, too. When asked about the empty shelves, etc., we were told it was COVID. I was here in March and the place looked normal. This was day after day after Black Friday and most employees had quit. I sure hope they get their act together.
Prices are fair, but when buying something big like a desk for example they wont get it down off the shelf for u. You have to wait for the next day...
Best place on the planet, if you are a young professional or older. I wish Arkansas were great enough to deserve a local store. One location that doesnt get the praise it deserves is their food court - go check it out and youll want to try some of that salmon.
Love going here. The check out is weird though. You check out and then go to the grocery area and have to check out again, but no one is there to check you out anywhere and you have to find a way back over to check out where you were the first time. Aside from that, Im happy we have an IKEA.❤
Great place to get youngest and some meatballs.
Huge place for nice furniture for about anything. Be prepared to walk a lot because there’s 2 floors with stuff. As long as you know where the main path is you wont get lost.
LOVE this store! So many options and ideas displayed. Super easy to find items in the self-service warehouse. Make sure you go hungry and check out their dining room for lunch!
Interesting place. Almost fun if you have something in mind to purchase. It is a bit of a maze though.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Always been happy with my purchases. Plus the in-store cafeteria has pretty decent food
We purchased a bed frame and got it home to assemble. One of the parts was defective. We called the 800 number and over an hour later someone answered the phone. The first representative gave us a confirmation number and told us the replacement part would ship in 7-10 days. 10 days go by and we call again using the same confirmation number. They told us the part was in the Merriam store and we could call back the next day to get tracking information. We did and no one knew what we were talking about and hung up on us. The next day we called back again, getting hung up on again, they told us that the confirmation number was invalid and we would need to order the part over again. We asked to speak to the Merriam store manager and was hung up on. We called back again and was told the manager would return our call in 24 hours. We were also told we could not get a refund and would would have to do it in store. We live 4 hours away and this is not possible. I called back the next day and was yet again disconnected and transferred multiple times, with a 45+ min wait. They will not transfer you to an in store manager or a supervisor within the call center. We are now sitting almost 30 days in with a still defective part with no resolution. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
Ikea is always good! This is a busy store but I can always get in and out I as short or long a time as I wish. They are always well stocked, though since the pandemic some items take longer to get I than others.
Great place to get awesome ideas for decorating or building home spaces at reasonable/affordable prices. There’s no boring moment every time I visit this store. It’s relaxing and at the same time it’s very tempting to buy stuff. I go home and let my mind play and envisioning my place to look like Ikea displays😁 Their restaurant has a ton of food selections. Very reasonable price. Restrooms are well maintained. A ton of parking spaces.
Was lost for 2 days in here but woke up to some good deals
Clean showroom and not busy at the time we went. I was able to find things I was looking for and also able to check on items for some friends who heard I was going. Only bad experience was the other customers who were not wearing masks, but that isnt IKEAs fault.
The only problem is that there is only one way in and one way out so dont expect it to be a quick trip. I did buy a lot of stuff that was reasonably priced and usable. The staff was not overbearing. Very organized and clean
I loved this place! It was my first time in an ikea and it was absolutely phenomenal. I had a joy in here planning what I wanted for my new house and I even got some more ideas I wasn’t even looking for. I would recommend this to anyone looking at new homes or looking to refurnish your old one, they have almost everything
Got on quota for walking. My wife and I enjoy looking at different ways to make over the house.
It’s ikea! Except with supply chain problems it’s more like Ika or Ike or Ka, depending what you’re looking for. But not to worry - if you desperately want a panda and they’re all sold out, just find one of the display ones and pay the zip tie off of whatever it’s attached to and bingo - bod you’ve got a panda! And it appears that their inventory system doesn’t mind selling an item it doesn’t have, so no one there wiser. Made me look like a cool dad!
Love ikea, never disappoints.
This ikea is horrible. They don’t seem to have items in stock ever. When you check on them regularly it takes months for something to come back in. When you order delivery it could be over a month before you get your item delivered and it will cost you almost $50 for a delivery fee. On top of that, everything I get from ikea I end up having to return or sell because the quality is trash. Their instructions are TERRIBLE. I get it, you want to be minimal but you can’t just type ONE word on your instructions? The only way I’ve been able to successfully build a couch and dresser from them is because YouTube University. I have finally learned my lesson and will not be shopping there for things I actually want to keep for longer than a few months. I would rather save up and get higher quality items, than drive 20+ minutes to a store I don’t even like. On top of this, their employees are never nice.
A lot of items. Nice place. Cashier in the restaurant was friendly.
Absolutely clean and perfectly placed store, but its a maze... I almost got my 6000 steps in trying to figure how to get to the checkouts to pick up my item. Its a gorgeous store and it is a store you have to be dedicated to spend some time in.
The checker accused me of shop lifting when I went to get frozen food that is located beyond the check outs! Made for a little entertainment for EVERYONE standing in line to see me get yelled at. I used to love shopping at IKEA but not going back for more public embarrassment.
If you know the secret path, its very easy to get in, get what you want and get out.
People like to joke that you can go in an IKEA and get lost. I should have listened to those people before I got stuck in here!Totally worth it though with all the awesome items! A good joke with IKEA is that things are hard to put together but that was the old days and they really are much easier now. Totally suggest to look at IKEAs website or the store and pick out what you need.
Inventory was very poor, app said it had shelves in stock and other items.... not true . app was very slow....couldnt order but one thing at a time on the app. Interesting store but when it comes.to actually you getting.your merch, surprise !
I love IKEA! So many ideas and affordable products. I have more than 50% of my furnitures from IKEA and I enjoy them more because there is a feeling of “self built” which comes when you assemble their products. Unlike what people tell you, they are easy!!Also love the food here! Always enjoyed a heavy lunch at IKEA.
I love coming here. Store is always clean and put together. Their stock is low in a lot of items right now due to covid but that isnt their fault. I find something new everytime I come here The food court is great as well and affordable.
Its not bad just a little different from the ones in Europe. The place was a bit stuffy. Alot of items out of stock. Friendly staff and place was clean.
This store, although large with a lot of shoppers every day, is very clean and well-maintained. Well lit, and its easy to find items. Covered parking, too. Its always fun to see new Scandinavian designed household items and their restaurant (reopening soon) provides a delightful sit-down break.
A lot of out of stock stuff.. but clean friendly. Wasnt to crowded.
My first time going. Without any prep or knowledge I parked, went to the showroom, found what I was looking for, found the item locations and in the self serve furniture area I felt at home being a distribution retiree. I understood now the location numbers and honestly the quality of the furniture and the overall experience was amazing. I do and will recommend IKEA.
Ikea is always amazing. Friendly helpful staff. This review is June 2021 probably because of lack of workers from pandemic, shelves were pretty bare. Lots of out of stock items. Still worth the trip.
This was THE single worst shopping experience Ive ever had. First you go in and get cornered and have to walk the whole show room with no real way to exit other then to keep walking trying to get you to buy more. Then the worst part was going to do some real shopping with someone who needs a wheel chair. The wheel chairs are not electric so either you need to bring 2 other people(1 to push the person and 1 to push their cart) with you or you have to accept that this place doesnt like handicapped shoppers. As a veteran who has shopped over the world and as a caregiver to a cancer patient this store gets -1* from me. I will NEVER step foot in this store again. I will NEVER give this store my money.
Unfortunately their selection is mostly middle of the road quality. I could be wrong but I think they used to have a wider range of quality. Their kitchen department has shrank to the point its not worth looking at.
I absolutely love everything about IKEA, but this one seems to be very well kept and the employees care about the customer and are very helpful.
Ikea was great! I couldnt find where the market place was and an employee was very good about helping me find it. Even showing me a short cut!
Best bang for your buck!
I wouldnt know if they are any good sence trying to order online isnt working. The first time i tryed, the helper told me to log out and uss google chrome to log back in. It still dosnt work!!! Needless to say, they have just lost a customer who was ready to pay for merch! I will try to find 2 similar items elsewhere.
Food is good as alway though I am disappointed that the hot dog stand is no longer open due to the pandemic and that the restaurant menu is limited. I also went to get scissors, and they were out of the ones I preferred! A lot of items were sold out in the marketplace, and an associate told me it was after a busy weekend. So maybe go later on Monday or at least call ahead to verify if they have items available according to their app.
Lots of options but many, many things are temporarily unavailable . Itself so frustrating to find what you want and not be able to get if for an undetermined time. This happened for at least half of the items we wanted. We ended up going elsewhere. I like the store and if I retu6, it may get a better rating if things are available.
Long time fan of IKEA, far before the opened in Kansas City. They specialize in maximizing space with cute, trendy accents. Their store is essentially a giant warehouse that displays how to use the baskets or beds or kitchen gadgets with the small items for sale right there by the display and all large pieces disassembled in the “actual” warehouse. Keep track of the aisle and number of the item and pick up what you want at the end of your visit. Their restaurant offers fantastic ethnic foods. Kids meals are as cheap or cheaper than any fast food options out there but offer more of a real meal for dinner or lunch.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IKEA, with that being said... I was disappointed with IKEA on my visit Saturday.I looked online before I headed out for the 3HR drive, to check availability of the products that I wanted...(IKEA doesnt ship to where I live) ranging from faux plants to bedding and everything in between.I visit this store once a year and buy for the year and have been doing so for nearly 5 years, exceptlast year because of COVID.Everything BUT one item was either not on the shelf or listed as unavailable on the showroom floor.
Constantly out of pieces Ive been looking for. Fun to look around, but they keep dozens of a product on the shelves for display without having any in stock. It has turned out to be deceptive to me, a customer, who wants to buy the products I see. I will keep coming back for the novelty of walking this gigantic store, but Ive given up trying to make a purchase, thats for sure!
Every time I’ve been to this IKEA, they’re out of the things we need and the employees are rude. The employees don’t know when anything will be back in stock, and you can’t order the items to be delivered to the store or your house. You have to wait around and check the site to see when they’ll be back in and then trek back to the store until every single part is back in stock magically at the same time. The employees upstairs are helpful enough, but when you go downstairs, the employees are not helpful and seem to operating on an entirely different computer system than the ones upstairs. You would think they work at different stores.
Love this store. We were able to get through the store in a reasonable amount of time. A little low on stock for some items but was able to get what we wanted anyway. Could spend all weekend dreaming of options. Will be back soon.
Never been to one. But wow, they have so many things that just makes u stop and look. Definitely will be coming back in the future. Bought so many bags and candles. Was worth buying. 👍
This was a destination on our one day trip to KC, and it did not disappoint. I could tell that they are impacted by the current lack of available product, with many shelves empty. We walked out with more then we planned and will be back with our plans to update our home furniture.
My first time ever to an Ikea. I loved so many things, but they were a bit expensive. I fell in love with a comforter, but then learned it was only available in queen in king when I have a full. It was pretty disappointing. Check out was also below expectations. We wanted to buy a clearance chalkboard but accidentally picked up the one without a bar code. It was like pulling teeth to scan the barcode on another one. They like argued with us about taking the specific one we had picked out.
Sometimes too much choice is worse than not enuf. If you get choice-paralysis, you just wont enjoy Ikea.I just wanted to shop office chairs and didnt have enuf charge in my electric wheelchair to follow the whole required and forced long path. (i once went ten years ago). The first yellow shirt I asked for help could only point to the elevator and say Furniture up there. Once up there it took more than twenty minutes to find someone who could tell me to start from the end of the long meander. ( another customer who had just come from Office Chairs) It was still so far i almost gave up. Nearly there, I found a yellow shirt who said oh they are just around the corner. But it was farther than she had told me.Exasperated, i tried ten of maybe 60 offerings and was ready to give up. Fortunately a knowledgeable yellow shirt came by, and offered to help. I stated my needs.. And in ten minutes.. Learned that they didnt have the seat pan and locking recline adjustment options i really needed. So much for too much choice.. After walking (rolling) way to far. I needed a few more things that I thought they should have, like a cup size strainer, or a dimmable upright lamp. They didnt have them and now I just want OUT of this seeming too-long waste-of-time-meander with no short cut options. They have ALOT of things, but they have a lot of things Im not interested in coz their version is just too low of quality or low options. Closet kits were pretty.. And uninteresting. Toilet shelf kit looked cheap, flimsy, and uninteresting. Kiddie carpets were.. Not coordinated with the racetracks displayed on them. Window blinds didnt have the adjustments I might have shopped harder for. (Somewhere else). I dont dislike Ikea merchandise.. When it fits my needs. But I very much dislike the shopping experience which is WAY too much walking for many people. And I most disliked that there was not one (English speaking) greeter or yellow shirt anywhere on my way in, to help advize me on how to get my shopping done efficiently. (shorter distance). I was half done before I even saw an English speaking yellow shirt. This store still attracts crowds and i say power to them. But walking-challenged, or busy & time-challenged people will much dislike the Ikea experience. I cant judge the merchandize quality since i didnt find any I wanted to buy.If you go, expect to give more than a mile of walking and MORE than an hour of your shopping time to them. I wish I could get my time back.
Its a fun walk thru that gives you allot of good ideas.
Well organized, knowledgeable and helpful staff, and good food too. In-store inventory was low or out of stock of a lot of items, but we found everything we were looking for.
I love IKEA, one day I wish to build a quest house or a cabin with Ikeas interior design in mind.
I absolutely love Ikea! You can literally spent the whole entire day here and be happy! The showroom is so amazing, contributes so much ideas for a home transformation or sprucing. It also has a daycare for the little ones. It has its own restaurant and their food is really good, like you have to try all their soups and their lingonberry juice. This place sells all your basic home needs and even groceries. Dont forget to join the Ikea family program and claim your free coffee or tea! Very affordable prices and checkout their As-is section you can find super great scores.
Love this store and style. Well maintained store.
Clean store, had exactly what I needed. No complaints
It was big but they didnt actually have two of the three things I wanted.
This is my favorite store to buy anything home related and get ideas about furnishing. They have so many cool concepts that you can just let your imagination run wild. The staff and service is phenomenal as well and the store itself is very clean. I also love their cafeteria, they sell so many varieties of food items and you get so much value for you buck. I come here way too often and always leave satisfied.
My visit there is always fun because I like the ideas they show you for arranging your home even when you have limited space....
IKEA is always a great stop. Plenty of very creative home solutions at a wide variety of prices. Gone are the days of cheap quality- follow the instructions and youll get a good end result!
So fun! My first time there! Loved this lamp but didnt buy it.... Yet!
I dont know if its all the IKEA locations or just this one but so many of the tags say temporarily unavailable. We finally found two items we could settle for, got down to the warehouse and they were out of stock and the worker wasnt sure when it would be back in stockPros: The employees are nice. The live plant section has some good choices
I honestly love this place! The food, the employees and the merchandise! Clean and friendly atmosphere.
It waa nice to see how well cleaned the place was being kept.
Great store with a large selection of quality products. Just wish there wasnt so much temporarily/out of stock 🙄
Very helpful and friendly staff. Was very surprised at the lack of inventory throughout the entire store. So many items were unavailable!
It’s probably safe to wait to go to this IKEA location for a few more months while they continue to restock.COVID protocols were fully followed.I was assisted by an employee by the name of Hollie and she was very helpful and attentive with all of my questions!
The showroom is fantastic! Cafe was closed when we were there but the employees were all very nice.
