The owner, Adrian, was extremely helpful in diagnosing a leak problem in my 01 Tacoma, which turned out to be a hose connected to the transfer case, and not with my transmission as I originally thought. His staff fixed the problem, cleaned the area, and checked and topped off fluids for me for the diagnostic price, when he could have easily charged me more. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff.

Excellent service every time. I was told I needed a new gasket and service for a leak in my trans mission by jiffy lube shouted 425.00 went to Aamco they tightened up the screws. And would not let me pay anything. 5 star as far as Im concerned third time Ive been there with different cars will not go anywhere again.

I didnt use them.There estimate for a transmission rebuild was at least $600.00 more than all other local providers. There estimate for just labor for remove and replace a remanufactured transmission a 4.8 hr. job was $1000.00 other local venders were between $500.00 and $550.00.

To start off I would like to thank Adrian for always having my cars ready when I need them, he’s always straight forward and gives good and fair prices. He isn’t like other mechanics where it’s a guessing game and has you purchase unnecessary parts to see IF it fixes the problem. He will tell you straight forward what it is. Everyone there is friendly and always with good attitudes. Back when someone else was running the business they had a bad name for themselves but now with Adrian in charge and with new employees they have one hell of a business going. When I arrived, I was told the boss wasn’t there and to come back an hour and a half later. I came back and the boss still wasn’t there, but I explained again what was wrong with my vehicle and left it to be diagnosed and was to await a call the next day because they only had two techs on hand. The next morning I called and was told again that the boss wasn’t there and to call back in an hour. I called back an hour and a half later and got a full voice mail and couldn’t leave a message. I called every ten minutes for an hour with the same result. I went to the store and my vehicle was still parked where I had left it. A tech came in from the garage and told me that there was no one there that could answer my questions. I then asked for my keys which were sitting on The desk with a tag on them with NO NAME at all on the tag. I won’t be using this shop, ever. Totally unprofessional, understaffed, and under trained .

I had been there the day prior to get the transmission flushed and they found a leak & repaired it for a reasonable cost. I had done this service because the car was surging sometimes and not easing down before the flush. It happened again. I brought it back and Adrian, the owner, immediately diagnosed my problem after a test drive. He is truly The CAR WHISPERER! The plug for the cruise control had popped off as the clip was not holding. He showed me how this affected the idle and told me he could do a quick fix that would save me a few hundred dollars, otherwise the cable would have to be replaced. He secured it, then refused to take any money, and had said that I had paid enough with the work already done the day prior. I couldnt believe it. He is truly a blessing.

These folks here are the best. Just as I pulled into town, at a stop light, my transmission went out on my 1 ton. A Bad feeling when your 1500 miles from home as well as a bit scary not knowing what you will run into as far as mechanics!!!...Luckily I was still able to move but only at 30mph.. my wife and I got a hotel and I started making calls first thing Monday morning... I called and spoke with Adrian, the owner, and he told me to bring it over and they would look at it.. when we got there to drop it off to be inspected I was greeted by Adrian who was very courteous and professional.. and without hesitation he gave my wife and I a ride back to the hotel.. to make a long story short.. my transmission had to be rebuilt but on top of that there was also an issue with the transfer case that had to be fixed. Once all the parts came in these guys worked hard and got me going and did not gouge me on price. I will not hesitate to recommend these fantastic, honest people here at AAMCO in Merced...

Stay away of this one... I know my car, have the full manual on that. And they charge 3X compared to other people in town for a simple transmission fluid change. (Its just a drain and fill).

Specifically asked to pin point check engine codes when I got there to pick up car was told exactly what I knew already asked for printout of what was done and what I was paying for asked for a print out of estimate to repair vehicle and was denied both didn’t even give me a receipt said if I got estimate it would have to be a work order and would have to charge me took my car to be fixed and am hoping what they told me was the real issue because if not I’m going to have to go pay someone else to pin point the problem and then pay to have the real issue fixedOk so the way you replied to what I said and throwing in extra is funny shows how unprofessional you are keep on subject this is about the car and I didn’t just walk in I called and had it set up to drop it off didn’t get any info on procedures when I got there talked on phone about it and you mentioned working for free who asked you to do that I new exactly how much it would cost but I wanted something showing what I was paying for which was wrong by the way I believe what was done was I was charged for your free service of codes check but no further diagnostic was done and that’s why I couldn’t be given anything showing the work but if I’m wrong and can come in to pick up a copy then I apologize but I wasn’t even given a receipt which was kind of odd don’t you think

I am amazed. AAMCO of Merced is the most compassionate and empathetic team I have ever known. While Moving to Utah, my jeeps transmission started to go out. Our caravan with my wife and kids in a Uhaul and the jeep stopped cold. Vicky scheduled an immeadiate diagnostic. Wasnt great news finding out we needed a new transmission. Yet this team of caring people not only found a new transmission, they had it installed and us back on the road quickly saving us 100s in Uhaul and hotel fees. Had a horrible experience going to this shop and getting disrespected by benny. Quoted me to repair my car for 3500 to 4000 or a used transmission for 2500 what a rip off used transmission goes from 400 to 1200 depending on millage. I will not recommend any one to go there. As if the quote wasnt high enough he didnt even let us explain what the issue was. He is rude and disrespectful it might have to do with his nationality or something but very rude.. AAMCO not good at all. Well be taking our business else where F aamco.

Brian, Maria, and the folks at Merced AAMCO are truly an amazing team! Im a transfer student who moved to Merced for school. I was about half way through my first semester here with no personal mechanic and a very constrained budget. I first noticed a transmission problem about a month and a half ago: When Id start driving, my transmission would jerk/kick back as I changed gears, it turns out the transmission range sensor on my 2000 Ford Focus was malfunctioning.Not sure where to turn, I tried calling my mechanic back home to get some advice, unfortunately he was too busy the times that I called so I had to resort to reviews and word of mouth. I decided to give Merced AAMCO a shot. I was not disappointed!The whole repair process took about a month for me, mostly due to the restrictiveness of my schedule (I was taking several classes and it was hard for me to get away from school for a day to drop my car off). After purchasing a part online in an attempt to save money, Brian graciously installed the part (I had not asked originally if they accepted customer parts). After about a day, my car started having similar problems, so I brought it back in for another look. Brian and Maria were extremely accommodating: they went out of their way to check the quality of their work, provided me with a fantastic deal that I was not expecting, and EVEN offered to give me a ride to school if I couldnt coordinate a bus route. These guys REALLY cared about my situation as a student and I could not have been more grateful!It turned out that I had a larger electrical problem in the car, however they were able to take care of the problem and replace the faulty part I had purchased in an afternoon! They even recognized a problem which I had suspected had been going on (excessive vibration and weird idling) which my original mechanic either overlooked or could not recognize. I will be taking my car back in a few days to have them take a look at this problem.As far as Im concerned, my experience with the Merced AAMCO crew was nothing but pleasurable and professional.
