Summer Avenue Art and Clay fills a creative void in the heart of an old school area of Memphis, from the rare supplies it offers artists & teachers all over the Mid-South region to the very talented and dedicated staff to the since of community it offers all that come through the front door.

We got an at-home clay kit for my birthday. It was SO much fun. It came with some guiding instructions, tools, paint, and enough clay for the 3 of us to make plenty of things. It was such a fun activity, the only thing that was more fun was getting our art back after firing. The pieces all looked amazing! If youre looking for a fun, safe, at home activity hit them up for a kit of your own!!

This is one of the most amazing and inspiring art spaces Ive been in. The variety of techniques and tools available here would keep me busy for years if I was able to tackle learning them all (studio membership makes this way easier tho!). The folks are super friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend checking them out.

My girlfriend and I have been members here for several months and love the space. The owners have become good friends and the studio is a delightful resource for us to make ceramic art. If youve wanted to find a full-time studio, or interested in taking beginner classes, this is your spot!

This is month three for me as a studio member, and I love it. They have everything I need for hand-building, and they fire regularly so I also bring in stuff I make at home. There’s a true community feel about it, which is so needed “in these unprecedented times.” Big enough to spread out, small enough to get to know each other. And affordable ❤️❤️..

Awesome place. Really nice people, safe environment, and they had the clay I was looking for! The classes were really fun for me and my daughter, we made ourselves some nice custom coffee mugs to take home!

Memphis has been needing a place like this for years. Clay orders, glazes, studio space, rent by month space, wheels and even student packets to work at home. The mud lovers are kind and the owners are knowledgeable and will order what you need. I am completely in love my space here and have taken my grand children to classes.
