We called for help to pick out a mouth piece for my grandson to have tuba lessons. The very kind woman that was working today was very helpful and knowledgeable. She even phoned the music teacher to accommodate us. She had everything ready for us when we got there... My daughter said it was best customer service she has had in a long time. This is my go to music store, but I called and asked some questions about their instrument protection plan and received very rude customer service. Respectfully, Im paying a significant amount of money to rent an instrument from them and it would be nice if they were a little more polite.

This place is amazing 🤩! Their customer service is Excellent and they even took the time to find a way to save me $40 on my son’s instrument.

Ive been coming to The Horn Section for years, buying my younger sister reeds or taking her clarinet for maintenance, and Ive always had a decent experience. Occasionally, some of the staff are grumpier than usual, but its okay since everybody has a not good day occasionally, and Ill blame it on Tiki the dog not being there for emotional support. Anyway, fast service and quick repair turnarounds! While kids can make fun of other kids for having loaner instruments while their instruments are out for repairs, Im thankful that they are at least given a loaner so they do not have to sit out in class and miss hands on instructional time with their instruments.

The owner repaired sticking valve, cleaned up horn and is a GEM. 1st class in every way. They remain busy with waits up to 6 weeks but worth it.

Good services, good products at a decent price. The staff is not always friendly but are willing to work with you. They seem to have a lockdown on the brand and woodwind market in town. I would entertain other establishments with similliar services in exchange for a smile and friendly service but I just cant find one.

I called the shop in interest of buying a flute. Im an adult who used to play the flute a lot but I havent played in years so I didnt want to spend too much money. I told the woman who runs the shop about my situation and she had a great plan for me to rent a nice flute for a while and see if my busy schedule would coincide with my flute playing too much or if I would lose interest before committing to buying an inexpensive one that might have repair problems. I can also afford a nice, more expensive flute with this service since Im only paying about 25 dollars monthly and it all goes towards the purchase should I want to do that in the future. Best decision to go here and I was happy to deal with the expertise and professionalism of the staff. Thank you!

My family has been buying and renting instruments from the Horn Section for the past five years, and we have ALWAYS received outstanding service. The sales and service team have been exceptionally friendly and personable -- bending over backwards to ensure that we were pleased with their sales and service. Maintenance and repairs for the two clarinets purchased at the store have been turned around the same day! We have also taken flute lessons with Tina at the store, and she is fantastic! I strongly recommend the Horn Section.

Great music shop with a good selection of instruments and highly skilled staff. They offer cleaning and repair services for most instruments and are very reasonably priced. They also have a large private instructor section, again with an exceptionally talented pool of musicians who can offer assistance from beginners to advanced players looking to hone their skills even further. I highly recommend the Horn Section if you are new to the area and are looking for a place to fill your musical needs.

I came to this shop because my kid’s school teacher passed out a flyer. It only took me about 10-15 minutes to rent a cello. Scout was very helpful, and the young lady was nice to explain all details about the contract to me. Flat rate monthly rental fee based on the price of the instrument to find out the length of the rent to own. Compared to another string store, this is simple, easy and transparent! No hidden fees or deposit! My boy just loved his new cello when he tried it!

You’d think when you’re paying $25 a month for a used plastic clarinet you’d at least get decent customer service. I was told that my clarinet, that had been damaged and sounded awful since the moment I opened it, was extremely damaged (obviously) and when she asked what I did to it I told her I had no idea as I’d barely played it and it was this way when I opened the case when I received it. She then told me “Think hard honey because all our instruments are shipped in perfect condition.” Clearly untrue. I will not be giving business to this company again. Very overpriced and rude.Edit:As I’m reading through others reviews I see many people have had this same issue with the same woman I had an issue with. I hope the owner notices this and takes proper action.

Ive been familiar with this store for a long time. When we moved to the are in 2004, the Horn Section was among the first places I got to know. My experience with them has been nothing short of friendly - its like a family there. The Horn Section has a wide selection of instruments both new, used and antique (which I absolutely love) and have recently added an impressive string section to the store. Its always a pleasure to wander through the newly expanded storefront, the sound of music lessons in the background, exploring all the instruments they carry. Theyll give you your space to look around and try and are always there to give assistance if you need it.

The Horn Section is the ONLY music store I frequent and my entire family are musicians! They are SO school-student friendly beginning in elementary school with instrument rental, rent-to-own, instrument repair, private lessons, and purchasing of any additional products or music! Every employee is knowledgeable, friendly, clean, and sober...no yicky bar musicians! They also volunteer as well as support different music programs and performances in the area. THANK YOU!

I had a freak accident with my trumpet and had to take it to the shop. A classmate of mine was kind enough to take it down to the horn section for repairs. It took a little bit over 4 weeks because I did not purchase the horn there. The staff was nice when I came and picked up my horn. They did an amazing job doing a basic repair on my horn. There is still some cosmetic damage, but overall, the horn plays well again. I recommend the Horn Section for their professionalism and high quality work. Thanks Horn Section!

The Horn Section saved the day! My son needed a Tenor Trombone Pixie Mute for an upcoming performance. I checked on line since I live an hour away and everywhere I looked it would come in after the performance. I even called my local music store and they did not have any. The Horn Section had one in stock and held it for me until I got there later in the day. I was greeted warmly when I arrived! Ive gotten stuff for my clarinet here, my sons violin, and my daughters ukulele. Theyve been very knowledgeable and helpful. They have a dog in there, but its an older dog. Pretty lazy

This business was recommended to my high schooler who is possibly interested in playing saxophone. Scott was very helpful, patient and answered all of our questions. He showed us how to get started in playing and how to blow into the mouthpiece, which worked perfectly. He gave us pricing info for rentals and the business card of a teacher, in order to catch up on some lessons during the summer. He took his time, no rush and Tiki was the icing in the cake!! BTW, there are MANY OTHER INSTRUMENTS there so stop by for ALL your musical needs.

Customer service still exists! I ordered a mouthpiece online from this store (at a Very reasonable price). Scott contacted me to let me know he was not particularly happy with the finish of the piece and then offered me several other mps to choose from if, indeed, the finish was important to me. I said it was not, and to go ahead and ship me the one I initially wanted. I received it, and could barely notice the finish problems he had mentioned. I really appreciate the attention to details and concern for customer satisfaction. I will be checking back regularly to see what else I may want. Great experience!
