This business robbed me! I ordered a train set, didnt hear anything for two weeks, sent an email, nothing, called and Richard said to call back on Monday cause he was out of town. Called back and he found the order, confirmed my shipping address and said he had to get it from the warehouse and would ship it out to me. A week later nothing, emailed him back, no response. Called, no response. If only I would have read Google reviews before purchasing...I hope someone is reading this and the many other sadly familiar stories and is going else where for their toy train needs. Bravo Richard, your Guardians would be so proud they raised such a Richard-head, you piece of excrement!
Rude rude rude. Husband went in today because he wanted to buy something and the jerk working there, possibly the owner, barked at him and my little girl, saying THIS IS INTERNET SALES ONLY. Sorry we didnt know. But you did lose a $500 sale and future business. Learn to be polite!
I ordered a couple of items from this place. I didnโt receive any of my stuff after 2 months. I followed up with a couple emails about if I can get a refund and the owner Richard said โleaving tomorrowโ. Itโs a scam and donโt buy from them. Train world is the best website and theyโll ship youโre stuff within a week.
Glad I read the reviews before ordering anything. I dont understand why integrity is so hard to come by, especially in the train dealer community.

Stay far away from this company. Richard is a scam artist. You pay him and you never receive your items. You call him and he tells you to email him. You email, and you never get a response back. He should be shut down and in jail for fraud. Spare yourself the trouble.
Apparently itโs online only- nowhere does it say that. Even when I called asking for directions.

Horrible customer service. Bought my son his first HO polar express model train for his birthday. We combined piggy bank money and my son agreed not to get another single gift, as he knew this was very expensive. Once we opened the box to his only birthday gift, the train wouldnt work. Our bad luck:-( Called Lionel, who said it would be faster to try to exchange from where we had purchased it from, as their turn around time was 6 weeks. Contacted Richard, who wasnt happy to do the exchange, but agreed.Told me that he would have this sorted out in a few days. Then i called a couple days later, to be told to call back in another few days. I called back again, to be told call back on Tuesday. Tuesday was told to call back Thursday. Thursday to call back Saturday...This has gone on for almost 4 weeks now. I now give up. This jerk has no intention of sending me a return label or exchange. He says he cant be losing money by exchanging items that dont work, but you definitely will be losing money in the future, as we will never buy from you again.And since you wasted 4 weeks of mine, i will dedicate the next 4 weeks leaving reviews on any train blog i can find, so no one else has to deal with All About Toy Trains again:-(

I have several sets and items purchased from online and was looking forward to visiting the shop while in the area. Website indicated they have a retail store but when I walked in I was immediately told, We dont sell retail, what do you want?,..At that point, NOTHING, bye.

Dealt with them twice on the phone, rude as hell. Just about a year ago I looked at a locomotive, went to buy it, was notified it was no longer in stock. And today, I got a notification saying I bought the train. I call them up and Im met with what sounded irritated trains, I inform the gentleman on the other end of the situation. Says to me, must have been a mistake. Than hangs up. Might wanna get someone else to handle the customer service side of things.
The owner, Rich, is a scammer who conned my family in Virginia out of thousands of dollars in model trains a few years back. We were not in a position at the time to file a lawsuit and could not appear in Florida courts if that would have been necessary. Dont give this man any of your business. Find another model train store. Stealing from recently widowed women is a horrible business model.Edit (response to a comment left by the business, subsequently removed from this review): This was not a fraudulent story. Rich gave my mother a check and called me before I got hold of it, after driving away with all of our collection, to tell me that his balance couldnt cover the cost. I still have the check. After negotiating a partial payment plan to help HIM through financial issues, he flaked and never completed payment. At the time, I was in college and also the one dealing with Rich, so I didnt have time or money to take him to civil court for the balance. He can call me a liar all day, but in the end, he knows he did wrong by us and justified trust with phrases like his being a good Christian and whatnot. Fraudulent review. Pssh. Spiteful? Youre darn right. People should know with whom they are dealing. Your actions have consequences, including my review. Youre very welcome for the feedback.
Ordered a Lionel GW-180 Transformer on 12/11/18 thinking I would receive it by Christmas. On 12/14/18, after emailing them, RICHARD ADELBERG replied claiming this was preorder. Nothing indicated such status (attached screenshot on the day of the email). Regardless, I decided to wait for it, and he replied that it would arrive by the end of the month.It didnt arrive at the end of December. I waited all the way until 1/18/19 to hound them about it. They didnt respond. Unprofessional. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. They are not forthright, nor do they communicate in a timely fashion. IF YOU DO BUY FROM THEM, MAKE SURE YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY HAS A GOOD DISPUTE POLICY. I had American Express - made it a breeze.UPDATE: So they contacted me right after I emailed them. They said that the stock was delayed 3 times by Lionel. Whatever the reason, I wasnt informed of it until my email to them detailing my dispute and posting reviews. They issued a $50 credit, but I have no intention of ever ordering anything from them. I upgraded their stars from one to three. At least they didnt respond with threats - and I dont want to ruin their business.
