What a wonderful group of ladies. The store is full of inspiration and great fabrics. Made me also wish I was buying a new sewing machine. I love this store.
Very nice! So friendly! Nice selection of fabrics, rulers, notions!
Ive been a customer for a couple of years now, and Beth just keeps making the store better and better. They have a great range of machines and furniture, as well as all the supplies you need to make fantastic quilts, organizers, purses, and anything else that can be sewn. They have embroidery products from a range of vendors, that its hard to stay on budget when you go. All the staff is so helpful, love to share their knowledge, and want you to succeed with your projects. It might be the most positive and encouraging place Ive been to in the last year! They have a range of classes, so you get comfortable with your machine, and they have different clubs for types of projects as well. The machine service is also outstanding - call ahead to see how booked they are, but most of the time, you can get your machine back the same day. Its so great to have a place in Brevard, and not have to take my machine to Daytona or Orlando to get fixed. So glad that Quilts and Lace is here!
Beginner or expert - you will LOVE this store. Huge inventory of fabrics. Excellent stock of sewing and embroidery machines. Very helpful staff that goes above and beyond to assist you with whatever you need. I live out of town but can tell you that this Melbourne shop is worth a visit.
This is a great store, once you find it( its tucked in a little shopping area with no sign out on road). Beth and staff are very helpful and if you cant find it in store, they know the websites to send you to. Plan to spend time here. This is a place you will want to walk each aisle and see what all they carry. Prices are good also.
I travel from Titusville to visit this shop. I have purchased a basic sewing machine, an embroidery machine and stationary long arm machine as well as a ton of product from them. They are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. There is enough employees to make sure all customers are taken care of. Their machine service is excellent and fair priced. The selection of fabric has improved tremendously and is now my go to place for fabric.I also appreciate their policies for masks, social distancing and hand sanitation.
This is a great shop with so many beautiful fabrics and supplies for embroidery and sewing! The staff is helpful and friendly and I’ll be going back the next time I need fabric!
Love this store! Beth the owner, always goes above and beyond to help you find what you need. (or want)
Love this place. Very knowledgeable about their products. I highly recommend checking it out. I bought a 10 needle embroidery machine tonight. Sooo happy!!!! They stand behind everything they sell.
Very nice place. The staff are friendly and helpful.
I enjoy shopping at Quilt and Lace, the people are very friendly and helpful . The fabric is a very good quality with many designs and colors to chose from and the Floriani thread is a super strong embroidery thread and works great with my Husqvarna machine.
Wonderful store, awesome associates to help, super knowledgable!
Such a great place! Every member of their staff is friendly and helpful. I was trying to determine which cutter to purchase and Beth was able to clearly explain the product & features of each machine. They have classes available for reasonable prices as well. The atmosphere there is like a club as opposed to a retail store. I had fun shopping! I highly recommend checking them out!
I absolutely love this quilt shop. I am not a quilter but an avid sewer. The women who work in this shop are so inspiring and knowledgable I may be adding quilting to my portfolio very soon! They have an amazing selection of notions and HTV. Very few quilt shops I have been in have so many feet on hand [items I am use to having to order in] AND they have in house machine repairs! This is so convenient and I am so happy to have found them.
SHORT REVIEW: as an unorthodox customer who was certainly not dressed for the occasion these ladies made me feel so welcome that I thought we were all going to go get pedicures by the time I was done! I know next to nothing about sewing but this staff makes you feel valued and at ease, never felt like someone was just humoring me.LONG REVIEW:So. I may not be the typical customer for a shop like this in an area like Suntree. Wearing my home made face mask covered in anarchy symbols, bright red boots and hyper political tshirt I expected a slightly cold response and that would have been ok as I was not exactly dressed for the occasion or location. Instead I was greeted with so much warmth and kindness that I though I had walked into one of my late grandmothers Bridge game nights! I am a professional craftsman but my sewing knowledge stopped at using dental floss to secure patches to my jackets. The ladies at this store treated me like I was a full fledged member of a secret seamstress guild and made me feel like I was on their level with attention to my inquiries and an eagerness to ask about my masks and help with any and every question and humor any incorrect t assumptions I had while providing me with clarity and it making me feel dumb. The warm and passionate staff made this scruffy contrarian dude feel like one of the ladies and that’s no small feat! Their attitude made it easy for me to be encouraged and branch out and now I have the confidence to try new things and I am debating about taking a class there! Hmm perhaps we could do a dads night at the quilt shop??!! I will always check out new stores but this one is MY shop where I fell like I have a home base. Grateful they are a part of my community and will always go back to bug the sweet people with my never ending stream of questions! And the best part is the gentleman in the back, rarely seen but you know he’s there listening attentively. When there is a lull in an answer being forthcoming I have heard his voice ring out “HE NEEDS A PACK OF DENIM HEAVY DUTY NEEDLES” in response to me asking why my needle kept breaking trying to do a difficult turn! It’s like the wizard of oz but with good advice!
I was astonished and disappointed to read the 1 rating review posted by a woman whod purchased a machine online that was not living up to her expectations. She brought it to Quilts and Lace to see if the problem could be fixed, but was offended by the observation that machines purchased online may have problems that are then difficult to resolve. I believe her characterization of the treatment she received at Quilts and Lace was unduly harsh and misleading, less indicative of typical customer experiences and more likely associated with thin skin. I say this because I had a completely different experience under similar circumstances during several visits to the shop (so not an isolated occurrence).First, let me state that it is difficult to find a sewing machine business that specializes in sewing machines rather than vacuum cleaners that sells sewing machines on the side. To find one that not only sells, but also services the machines and trains novice buyers on how to use them is cause for celebration! That said, I sought repair assistance at Quilts and Lace for a vintage machine that I had purchased elsewhere, for which I was graciously accommodated by the same individual who was maligned in the aforementioned review. Allan not only serviced my older sewing machine, he also went so far as to raid his personal sewing machine to obtain a part that was no longer available. And then he did not charge me for the part!! Next, I consulted with Allan via email about a specialty machine that I had purchased ONLINE, which had been troublesome from the start. He gave me instruction on what to do, which worked well enough to make it usable, but when I return to Melbourne for winter, I intend to bring that troublesome machine with me so that Allan can work his magic on it. I wont make the mistake of purchasing a machine online again after the problems I encountered. Not when there is a local business like Quilts and Lace that offers full sewing machine sales, service, training, and stands behind the products they sell - in addition to being kind, knowledgeable, and helpful every time I enter the shop.
Always have what I need. Ladies are very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you.
I went in looking for a ruler foot and a couple of quilting rulers. What I got was awesome. I got several multi purpose rulers, the ruler foot I needed plus a quick lesson on how to use them. Very, very helpful ladies there. I look forward to going back. Thank you.
Friendly knowledgeable staff. I had a beginner machine that was far below the quality of machine they stock- but they took their time, had a look see and got it back up and running. No pressure to upgrade prematurely of my skill level, completely friendly and nice. Would definitely recommend to the beginner and the experienced. Im sure their classes are fantastic too! Thank you!
My daughter-in-law and I visited the store recently. It was my first time and I can’t say enough about the friendliness of everyone. We were taking in three machines for servicing and we were very impressed with Allen’s knowledge and kindness. We will be returning often and plan on taking classes in the future.
This is an open letter to Allan Reid of Quilts and Lace in Melbourne, FL.On Saturday, September 3, 2016, I called your shop as my daughter and I were experiencing some difficulty with my Brother Scan n Cut machine. I had been dealing with Brother Customer Service and based on their findings, I believed the machine to be faulty. Your wife answered and said if we got in the car now, we would have time to arrive before the shop closed.(As a side note, we have absolutely no issue with your wife, she is a very gracious, classy lady. )My daughter and I barely had an opportunity to get the machine in the car and leave; however, we made it before the shop closed. When we walked in you greeted us, asked how we were and I answered, “frustrated, but your wife said she could help us.” You took the machine from my daughter and then said, “This is black! Where did you buy it?” I said I bought it online some time back and then tried to explain the problem. I was interrupted by you saying, “I have no sympathy for you. People like you buy machines online or somewhere besides here and then come in and expect us to help you.”Understand we did not come there for your sympathy. We came there as you are advertised as an authorized Brother dealer. To me that means you are trained/qualified to work on Brother machines and I am pretty sure in Brother International’s definition, an authorized dealer is one that is trained/authorized to work on Brother products no matter where the machine is purchased. As far a asking for help: it never entered my mind we would be getting free help. We came in prepared to pay for your wife’s consultation as well as your time if the machine could be fixed. We found ourselves explaining my health is why I purchased online, but then stopped. Where the machine is purchased should have nothing to do with it; I do not have to explain myself as to where/why I purchased the machine to have it repaired. It is clear to me in your case, “authorized Brother dealer” means only if the machine is purchased at Quilts and Lace. You might very well have repaired the machine, but not without the rude, inappropriate tongue lashing we received from you.As for the tears you witnessed, do not think for one moment those were due to you “hurting my feelings” or because you created a scene in front of your wife and the customers in the shop. Those were tears of anger – when I get extremely angry, I cry which, in turn, makes me even angrier. I chose not to engage in an unpleasant conversation with you in front of your wife or customers. It was determined by your wife the machine could not be repaired. We paid her and left. This open letter is to let you know my daughter and I will not be subjected to this kind of behavior from anyone, but especially someone who professes to be in a business of dealing with the public. You will not get that opportunity again.
While traveling I like to visit quilt shops and I went in yesterday. It is a small shop, kind of disorganized, and limited amounts of fabric. I was in there for at least 10 minutes and was never acknowledged .. there was a customer checking out when I got there but that was it and there were 2 or 3 staff there the whole time. I stood directly in front of the lady at the register for 2 minutes looking at the small items for sale .. not even a hello. I always buy something in my visits as a keepsake and luckily they carry the quilters select rulers, but I walked away because the of disregard from the staff.
I have stopped in a few times. This past week I bought a embroidery machine. They have always been very helpful. I will be a repeat customer. Thank you so much.
Nice people! Answered the phone after hours and kindly took time to answer my questions even though I havent stepped foot in the door yet. I will be taking a class there soon and will add a more informed review for that.
Wonderful staff greeting & welcoming all who enter their shop. Everyone is very helpful & knowledgeable. It is great to have them in Brevard County. Thank you for all you have done & are still doing to inspire all of our creativity each & every day.
Had a great day with Floriani rep Trevor! He was a wealth of knowledge in our embroidery class. Owner Beth and her guru Aira were just as helpful, gracious, and wonderful as always! Thank you Quilts & Lace for a great learning experience and wonderful hospitality...it was SEW awesome!
Nice place. Very helpful employees. Very knowledgeable. Not a lot of fabric but what they have is beautiful.
They are the best in when it comes to technical support and assistance when working on a project. Top notch sales staff and service.
This is to the lady who gave Allen a lashing. Two years ago When I arrived in Florida from Colorado, my Tiara II was not working. I spoke to Allen about it. I was crying because my beloved papillon had died in my arms the day before and I was unable to lift my machine (due to pancreas surgery the year before) to bring the machine in for repair. Not only did Allen fix my machine the next day, but came to my house to do it. He and his wife were kind, warm and considerate and always were there for questions and help. Q&L is an awesome, professional, customer-oriented company.
Visited shop on Patchwork Express shop hop. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Good demos and information.
One of the best sewing shopsin Florida. Heirloom supplies and excellent classes on heirloom sewing as well as all sewing styles. Owners are beyond fun and helpful...simply the best.
Very helpful in obtaining a serger and material
A great place to puchase a quality sewing machine. They help you pick out one that suits your needs and provide awesome classes that will allow you to use your machine to its full capabilities.
Best place to purchase and learn your sewing, quilting, embroidery, cut and sew, and serger machine. Wonderful classes and instruction. Very kind owners. Love you both and thank you!
This is a small specialty quilting and machine embroidery store. They carry a very nice selection of unusual fabrics, many embroidery machines, long arm quilting machines, sergers, quilting and embroidery patterns, and teach a huge variety classes. They specialize in Brother, Babylock, and Floiriani and also have a repair person who will promptly service all of the machines. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. You will get personal service helping you to select anything fabric or sewing related.
I have purchased three machines from Quilts and Lace and will continue to shop their store for all of my sewing needs. Their expertise and kindness are well appreciated and I am so thankful for all they do.
Pros: Lots of embroidery. Very friendly couple. Nice classroom.Cons: Small fabric collection
I am thrilled to have found this shop, Quilts and Lace has the type of old fashioned personalized service that is lacking in most stores now! In June I was in the market for a Brother embroidery/quilt machine. I have had 3 Brother sewing machines in the past and just love the product. I initially looked on Amazon and found a beautiful machine, with all kinds of goodies, for just under $2,000. I was hoping to see it first hand before I spent that kind of money, so I called Quilts and Lace, my closest Brother authorized dealer. I decided to call the shop before I visited as it is about 35 minutes away. I was kindly explained to, that the machines that are sold as box machines for large distribution centers, are not sold by the dealers and they are made to a lesser standard, hence quality. I was concerned enough about the information I just heard, so I thought I should visit Quilts and Lace. I looked online for a review of the shop and read some pleasant ones and then came across a review from a woman with a not so nice comment about a chap named Allen. Before I go any further, I must say, that after the very first time I met Allen there is no way, no way that he was offensive, in any manner! I have now been in Quilts and Lace, into the evening hours, when he has worked all day, and that gentleman has never been anything but kind, patient, serving, and informative. As is all the staff! So, I decided to visit the shop to see what the difference was between the machine I was ready to purchase on Amazon, and the machines that are sold at Quilts and Lace, and boy am I so very happy that I did!! DO NOT BUY BOX MACHINES from the Amazons, or for that matter, anywhere online!! I could never have figured out all that you need to learn about these machines and all their goodies. I spent an hour, plus, getting all the information that I could absorb from the extremely knowledgable staff. In my opinion, the woman who gave the review of one star, left unhappy, with herself, for buying a machine online, very mean spirited. I purchased my Brother embroidery/quilt machine from the kind, knowledgable, patient, informative, experienced staff, that I would be honored to now call friends. The people, personalized service, machines, classes, notions, fabric, etc: PRICELESS! And remember when I said Allen is serving? Well, during classes, Allen will pop in and ask, Coffee or tea?, customize your order, and return with a cup from their new cozy kitchen! What??? Who does that??? Quilts and Lace does, so do yourself a huge favor and visit with them for awhile, you will leave smiling, smarter and hopefully with something fabulous!
Excellent shop and staff. Owners very knowledgeable and helpful
5 Star Store. Very helpful employees.
Friendly and great service!
Great place to get paper piecing patterns and to take classes
Sewing machines, lessons and everything related to it. Best place in that area.
Hard to find. Lots of machines and fabrics, quilting main classes and has to use expensive new machines. Not for me
