If you want the personal service that you cant get at a big orange or blue store, then go see Mickey! My wife and I spent an hour and a half at 1 of those stores looking at flooring, cabinets, and counter tops and not once were we asked if we needed help. Mickey spent an hour and a half with us to explain pros and cons of different flooring and different counter tops. When there was a material shortage of the first flooring we liked due to COVID, Mickey spent another hour with us laying out flooring samples across his showroom so we could pick another one we liked. He gave me advice on installing the flooring myself, and with the savings I was able to add granite to my whole house instead of just the kitchen! Support your local businessman!
