Atlantic Strings is a well-organized store quipped with everything a string player would need or want. PLUS, Allen has warm, knowledgeable and helpful staff members working there. I personally went in looking for a new bow and to get my violin fixed up, but I ended up with a new bow and violin! The entire staff, especially Allen, were super helpful throughout the day even staying late to facilitate my purchase as I was there for 530 hours. I could truly tell he was there to make sure I found a violin that inspired me. Allen and the rest of the staff gave me all the time I needed, took my feedback, gave me tips on what I should be looking for and would hand me new bows and violins to try on the fly based on my preferences. I felt at home the entire day and ended up with a great deal, a beautiful instrument, and a place I will continue to come back to for years to come.

This place is amazing, Lindsay went above and beyond in helping us find the right violin for my daughter. She was very informative and even went out of her way to play the different violins so that we cold hear the difference in the sound. Also the rent to own is great. Low prices. Knowledgeable staff, great customer service. One of your staff members went above and beyond recommending me my first instrument and when I chose the electric acoustic on the shelf, I was ready to pay $300 for it, until the owner saw a cosmetic scratch on the instrument and offered to knock it down to $250. If this isn’t good customer service, I don’t know what is.The violin plays great for the low price. Even my teacher liked it.

When we went there recently, we had a few things on our list. Store was very crowded with probably new school year being just started. Staffs were very nice and professional as before. Even though we were there close to the store closing time, my son got to choose a violin from like 10 different instruments in the price range after trying them out. We were able to accomplish everything we were there for and left with happy feeling. Great shop!

Atlantic Strings is a great place to do business with. The workers are friendly and helpful. When I need new strings for my familys instruments, they put them on for me free of charge. Over the past few weeks, my daughter has needed her violin bridge put back in place twice, and they have been very helpful. Good business, great people.

I have to say that was one of the best shopping experiences I have ever had. I do realise that there are people who spend a lot more money in this shop, but despite my budget, Allen spent two and a half hours with us to help me get the perfect violin for me (and Im certain this was the perfect one, Im so in love with it!)We were referred to this store by a regular customer who is a friend of my uncles. By the time we arrived for our appointment, there were a number of violins set out for us to try out, and Allen patiently walked us through the history and sound of each, allowing me to first listen to him play and then try out the ones I liked. For me, this was amazing, because as an amateur player, I knew the sound I wanted, but could not describe it as well as I might like, and I was not super confident in my own playing. He figured out what kind of instrument I was looking for just by watching my responses to the various instruments. Not only did we find the perfect violin, but he provided all the accessories I might need.I dont live in the US, but I would definitely come back to this store (online and in person) for my future music instrument needs.

We drove up from Miami to visit the Atlantic Strings Orlando shop. It was time to upgrade to a fine instrument for our child who will be entering New World School of the Arts in 9th grade next year. Marco and Hannah both assisted and spent a few hours helping select an instrument and then a bow. Both of them assisted us in finding the tone quality that my child liked best, and picked bows that matched both the instrument and my child’s preferences in a bow. They let us bring the instrument home (Miami) to audition for a week, let our violin teacher evaluate it, etc. Then, a week later we drove back up to the Atlantic Strings Melbourne shop to play a few more instruments and make a final decision. We did make a final decision and Allen Gatchell (owner) & shop staff made the experience both easy, educational, informative, and a truly thrilling experience all around. Rarely is the level of attention to customer experience what we encountered at Atlantic Strings. Theres a lot to like here. AAA+++

We went to this shop with the intention of fixing my friends viola, but ended up walking out with a violin also because of how great the staff was. Super inviting very knowledgeable. The staff member and cashier that helped us (Austin) was very helpful. He explained the differences between the cellos, named prices, and even played each of the cellos so that we could see what each sounded like. Its a great place, a definite must for local musicians.

I visited Atlantic Strings in Melbourne, Florida last year and had a really enjoyable customer experience. On my musical travels, I had forgotten a number of things including a spare set of violin strings, rosin and a spare shoulder rest. Atlantic Strings were really awesome with all my requests including the request to try out a couple of violins. I loved the customer experience at Atlantic Strings which both very professional and welcoming.

My daughters cello pin slipped into her cello and she was beside herself because she was afraid she would get into trouble - I called Atlantic Strings and Michael told us we could come right over - he was able to get the cello pin out of the cello and we were able to leave with it that afternoon. Along with that he fixed the pin so it would not slip back in again and did not charge us a penny for his hard work. An instrument I previously purchased through Atlantic Strings needed new strings, a bridge, and sound post adjustment. The staff promptly helped me and provided me with a complimentary loaner while I was without mine. Very friendly and informative staff. Surprisingly quick turn around time on repairs. I honestly dont know where to begin. Probably since I was in elementary school Ive been coming to this place and have always had such an incredible experience. Recently deciding to pursue music as a career, I found an amazing price on an amazing bass here! No where else in Florida will you find quality instruments and service like this! Ive been to other places and found cheap instruments for a high price which doesnt make sense. Atlantic Strings knows whats up!! An extremely professional staff from the consultants, luthiers, and owner, from walking in the door until you leave; its just an overall amazing experience! What a terrific experience interfacing with Atlantic Strings! I had an old violin that I had been researching and needed to talk to an expert on the subject. I called around to east coast shops and was told to go directly to Atlantic Strings in Melbourne, they were the experts. I talked to Bret on the phone who showed an interest in my violin and suggested I make a visit and talk to Allen Gatchell, Owner and luthier. There were some definite questions relating to the violins age and condition. So, I made an appointment and visited the next day. Allen confirmed that I indeed had a mid to late 1800s violin and pointed out its unique qualities. It had been kept in excellent condition, having had some reconstruction done over the years. We talked violin attributes, resale potential, suggested pricing, and related suggestions. He did all this at no cost to me! I even had a followup question the following day that Kasey, their receptionist, was able to answer. I found that all the staff members were very talented and were so helpful; I would surely give them the highest recommendation. Thanks, you guys!

The employees at Atlantic Strings are amazing! They helped me find the right size cello I was looking for, and Allen, the owner, handpicked and ordered two for me to try after trying all the ones in the store. Afterward, he set up my instrument to my preferences and helped me pick out a bow. I bounced around string shops in the Central Florida area, and I was treated best at Atlantic Strings, and I feel they are the most honest as well.

I bought my violin and two bows from here, and it was a great experience. The service is great and the employees really know what theyre talking about. Theyve got a huge selection of instruments, books, and bows from cheaper, beginning violins to expensive, professional ones. Its always fun to just come to look around as well, as they have some early violins and violins made into art as well.

My 2nd grade daughter and I arrived at Atlantic Strings in Melbourne on Friday evening 5 minutes before it closed hoping to just drop off my daughters violin to get fixed. Michael Ceccio was amazing. He literally took the violin, 5 minutes until close on a Friday night and fixed it himself-with NO charge. This place has delivered time after time for us. Thank you Atlantic Strings!!! UPDATE- the previous review was actually written years ago but I forgot to post it, so I am going to add on.Once again, I took one of our violins in to replace a string and they were awesome once again the luthier, who is a fine young gentleman, restrung my violin for me, no problem, no charge.Additionally, I have a very old, valuable violin that is a family air loom that I entrusted in their care. Ive been a customer of both Atlantic Strings locations (Orlando and Melbourne) since I started learning to play Irish fiddle a year and a half ago. I recently took my daughter to the Melbourne store for a fiddle purchase and couldnt be more pleased with the experience. Marley helped us and gave us her full attention for over an hour. The luthier not only set up my daughters fiddle while we waited, but performed a tonal adjustment on mine as well (and yes, it does sound SO much better) They have an excellent inventory of instruments and accessories -- what a great resource for the Central Florida area! Very helpful. Got a violin got a good price from a friend, needed some repair work. Brought it in for repairs. Repairs were a little more extenese than first that. They repair what was nessicary to allow my daughter to start playing it. Did pressure it get all done right then. The lady was also really nice and helpful while we waited for the repairs.
