This is a great hardware store, and I am a devotee of hardware stores! My daughter, who lives in Medford, and I (coming from out of the area to help on occasion) love this store. My daughter tends to live in old houses that constantly need help and repair. All the staff bends over backwards to help us even if the solution is a only 20 cent washer! Also, I love supporting deserving local stores!

Ive been here a dozen times since moving to Medford. Always helpful, always happy to a answer questions. Used them for screen repair and the price was fair and the quality good. Theyve earned my business and I stop by to order things rather than heading to the big box.

Love this store! Theyve done a great job helping me choose paint colors, and mixing the paint. My entire condo is painted with Benjamin Moore paint from their store! Great local hardware with great service. They dont always have what I am looking for, but its always my first stop when looking for hardware needs. On-street parking, as well as parking in the rear of the building.

I went here because I live in Medford. They knew more about paint then I have ever been taught. I bumped into one of the building inspectors that works in city hall while I was there too. They hooked me up with the right colors and recommended several local painters. We picked a painter from their list and were blown away at the quality of the job. This aint Home Depot, but the people working here are real pros. If it is not important and you want cheap parts from china, or just anything that isnt critical go to Lowes or Home Depot. If you want help with your home or if it is important to you to get quality, go local. If the inspectors buy their stuff here for their own home that has to tell you something. Great experience and great referrals. Highly recommeded.

Great local place with super helpful guys. When we moved to Medford I came here once for some paint and Ive only used these guys since. Theyre really down to earth, super helpful, and have a good selection for what you need of basic hardware supplies and painting supplies. I had an issue matching paint to a neighbors fence with old paint they got at Modern 4 years ago and these guys knew exactly what to do and set me right up. Theyre friendly and I highly recommend using this local Medford establishment!

Ive lived within walking distance of this place for 12 years, but not shopped there until recently (not sure why!) If you need quality paint and related supplies, this is the place to go. Ive been in several times in the last month for various items, including three different kinds of paint, and every clerk has been knowledgeable, helpful, and nice. Would not hesitate to return, or to ask for help in choosing paint. These guys know their stuff!

Ive been going here for years. Great layout, things are easy to find, but the real value here is in the people. Dave, George, and Jake are knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and imaginative. The collective expertise is unbelievable. Jake knows a ton about paint and paintbrushes, and when I described my needs, he special ordered two additional brushes, beyond the many they carry, just in case I might prefer on. Then last Friday I was there looking for something that didnt exist, and George found two different items I could try to improvise with. Meanwhile Dave was helping another customer with a broken, vintage faucet handle shaped like a fish. The part she needed was no longer made, but Dave found a way to improvise with a cotter pin. Total cost to the customer: 25 cents. The expertise: priceless. Ive used all the other hardware stores where I live and work, and you cant find people like this anywhere. Modern Hardware is the best!

I was looking for an obscure part which no one has. They didnt have it either but I enjoyed looking at everything they did have. Save the trip to the box store and see the local guys who know their stuff.

Been shopping here since 1997. Family owned, George is the best. Everyone provides exceptional customer service - unlike a big box store, you will be given the correct answer and sold what you need. They are the only place to shop for paint - Ben Moore has a product for every pocketbook. Dont just take my word for the paint, see how many professional painters shop there.

It is great having a hardware/paint store so close to my house and I use them often. True, they do not have the stock or choices of a warehouse type store, but for a small store they have a lot to offer, most of what you need. Their prices are fair and they have always been very helpful and friendly to me, especially helping with paint for home projects. I highly recommend then to anyone, and especially people in the neighborhood as they are so convenient.

These owners are an asset to any contractor or person with any project large or small. They take their time to understand your project and offer sound advice and make sure you dont over pay. I have worked with them for 2 years and never once had a bad experience. They take pride in the business they have built.

I bought all the supplies for my first refinishing project at this store. I would walk in, tell them what step of the project I was on, and they would get me all the supplies and tell me how to use them. They were more accurate and reliable than the internet.
