The people who work there are very helpful and nice!
Super helpful staff, and they always know what they are talking about. Definitely tell them what you are looking for because otherwise you probably wont find it. Its a small store but they dont waste any space at all
Tony, Scott and Austin are Great!!!. They are Nice and give you good Painting advices. You gotta a question Tony or Scott have the Answer.
Friendly and helpful staff
This place is the best. The anti-Home Depot in that they actually know what they’re talking about and are happy to help you. Stop by the front counter and explain what you’re trying to do. Their Incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff will give you recommendations, tricks, and tips based on expertise and experience. They’ve saved me tons of time money and stress as a first time homeowner.
Great hardware store. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Always great customer service and advice! I wont go anywhere else!
Been going there my whole life.Convenient, friendly and helpful!
Owner was super friendly and helpful
I cant say ENOUGH good things about this great store!!!! I have been using them for years. No matter what Im looking for they have it. Even when I cant quite describe what exactly it is that I want, they hear me out, ask a couple of questions and then find me the perfect thing. I am never treated as just a silly female as I have been in other hardware stores. The staff are warm, friendly, welcoming and seem to have a photographic memory of the exact location of everything in the store, even down to the tiniest nut and bolt. They seem to have anything you could ever want and what isnt in stock they will custom order. Why go to Home Depot, wander about lsot and confused when you can come here be happily greeted, get personal service and be on your way in mere moments? This store and its staff are a TREASURE!! Local shopping at its finest
Tony is an incredible small business owner. Another vendor recommended painters putty to me to fix cracks and holes in my living room wall. THIS MAKES NO SENSE. Tony immediately recommended DryDex. Its amazing. He even told me how to layer it to fill larger holes. I have been going here for 7 years now and Tony immediately knows the cheapest solution to every home repair I have.
Helpful staff and a supremely convenient location make Hillside True Value my first stop when I am looking for tools and supplies for repair projects around the house.Neighborhood hardware stores - like local bookstores - face an enormous challenge from online sellers and big box stores. The staff at Hillside are more than a match for the task - able to provide advice, answer questions, and quickly make available most tools and supplies anyone might need. If a thing is not currently in stock, Tony always offers to order it right away. One indication that the store is so good is the proportion of professional contractors who are there as customers. Often, Im the only DIYer present and the place is full of seasoned professionals getting orders filled.A truly great resource for the neighborhood.
A classic hardware store chockfull of stuff for just about any household need. This is one of those old neighborhood gems with inventory from floor to well past the ceiling. I was hunting for old-fashioned window locks and they handed them to me in seconds. It would have taken a long time for me to have found them. Courteous staff, fun store, time travel for the jaded hardware consumer that appreciates the small convenient business.
Nice store, and the people there actually know what they have and help you find stuff. Very good! They also cut their window shades to size if you ask them.
In addition to being an extremely helpful old school (floor to ceiling stuff) hardware store, this is by far the best paint store around. The staff are much more knowledgeable than the random kids hired by City Paint and their various branches, and the Hillside people are also much friendlier. Obviously, nobody should ever buy paint at Home Depot, but I am mentioning that here in case it helps someone. Whether you are a pro or a newbie, Hillside is where you should get your paint.
Ive lived around the corner from this place for almost 10 years and have been meaning to write a review the whole time.Im consistently surprised by what they have hidden away here. I dont think Ive ever gone and not found what I was looking for. Some of the more esoteric stuff Ive found there include canning supplies, various size o-rings, window fans, meat thermometer etc... They also sell random hardware by the piece that you cannot find elsewhere. Your typical big orange hardware store has only one or two cabinets with unusual hardware but they dont come close to what they have at hillside. They also have the stuff youd expect like tools and accessories. We have been given excellent advice here. Painting in particular seems to be their specialty and they carry high quality paints. Weve had some issues in our house with previous owners not being careful about painting (eg: painting on wallpaper, painting over wet primer) that they were able to suggest remedies for. We also had a mystery issue with vinyl siding that we couldnt figure out that they diagnosed right away.
Great family owned hardware store . Tony and Scott are very knowledgeable about paint products.
Great service.. I have been coming here for 16 years .. helpful and they know what you need and what your looking for .
Very attentive staff, if you are looking for paint products stop by here!
Best place to shop.,.... Also because I work there
Excellent service, knowledgeable, decent selection and they can quickly order something not available. Sure beats a trip to home depot...
The best hardware anywhere, no matter what you need, if its not in the store, they go up stairs to the storage area and come down with it! The best service anywhere, makes you appreciate the small business even more...
Excellent neighborhood Hardware store, knowledgeable staff, very helpful and patient, well stocked, and they can order nearly anything you might need. Ive been a customer here for about 25 years.
Best local hardware store around!
Ive only had to go here a few times, but every time i have the staff has been tremendously helpful and the prices extremely reasonable.
A small, dusty, disorienting place, but the employees will help you find anything you need (and somehow they know where it all is).
This place is weird. I couldnt tell if I was in a hardware store or someones old garage. I had to buy mothballs and the packaging looked like it was from 1982.
The best. Enough said.
Tony is great..
Now that is a true value!!
