Dave was so very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. It was one of the best shopping experiences weve had in a long time. We wanted a really good bed and we were shown a lot of different options. Also the program used to identify the best bed for our sleeping habits, health conditions, etc. helped narrow down the best beds for us. We got our bed as promised on the day and time given. From beginning to end it has been a great experience. And we LOVE our new bed! Highly recommend Mattress Firm for your bedding needs.

We went in knowing what we wanted. The salesman George was filling in from another store. He was awesome and found what we needed. It was a great price and we were able to get it the next day. We talked to him about another mattress for our master bedroom and he let us lay down on it and told all the features and recommended a less expensive better quality bed! Super happy with our choices and A+ service!

Ask for Ginger! Seriously. This was a massive purchase for us, and we ended up testing out mattresses at three different mattress firms in order to not bug the sales people and really be sure about the bed before we found Ginger. She never pressured us, allowed hours in the store at a time testing mattresses, did not even try upselling, and helped us get the best price possible on the mattress my back responded to best. Highly recommend.

I had called this Mattress Firm earlier in the day asking about a specific bed frame. I spoke to Ginger, and was told they had the bed frame in stock. Later that day, I went to pick up the bed frame. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a man. I had intended to ask to speak with Ginger, but I noticed that she was busy helping another customer. I was explaining to the man that I had called earlier looking for the specific item, and I had given him my phone to show him a picture of it. He acted like he was not convinced that they had it in stock until I mentioned I spoke with Ginger earlier. He asked us to wait for her to finish up with her customer and then she would help us, instead of helping us himself. After waiting at least 10 minutes, we were finally helped. Ginger was very nice and helped us quickly. When it came time to pay, I was prepared to pay in cash. When I told her this, she immediately told us that she didn’t want cash she wanted us to pay with a card because she would have to go to the bank. I then explained that I would have almost exact change. She proceeded to say, “Please don’t pay in cash, pretty please.” I was already annoyed for being passed on to another employee and then being told I couldn’t pay how I intended to. I had to call someone else to see if I could use their card to pay for my bed frame.I think this was just so unprofessional. I had cash to pay for a bed frame, and then told I couldn’t use it. It was an inconvenience for me and the person who had to come and swipe their card. It also seemed that it was an inconvenience to Ginger because she would have to go to the bank. I am sorry that a sale at your establishment would be an burden to you because you would have to drive to a bank on Monday.

They really pushed us on the adjustable base which we got. Turns out the coil mattress they sold us is not compatible with the adjustable base. The mattress now has a huge dip in the middle that started just a month or two after purchase. My husband and I both weigh under 200 pounds so its definitely not us. This mattress was over $1k! Apparently most coil mattresses should not be used with adjustable bases I found out after a little googling. You have to get one that is specifically designed for it or it breaks the mattress. Also, they act like they are giving you a great deal on the adjustable base, but they are much cheaper elsewhere. Their delivery people didnt take the bed frame, which we paid for the disposal of. These people are scam artists, no better than car salesmen.

I had a wonderful experience at Mattress Firm at the Mechanicsville location. Scott was such a delight to work with. He was patient while we made decisions and took time catering to our needs. If you’re in the market for a new mattress go to this location you won’t be disappointed!! Amazing service!

I love my mattress it was worth every penny. Only reason Im giving 4 stars is the guy tried to put my mattress in my truck and ended up messing my paint up. He gave me a pillow to make up for it!

5 stars all the way!! Today, my wife and I moved into our new home and lo and behold our queen size box-spring would not fit in our staircase. After calling around, we found that Mattress Firm had the 2-piece queen size pieces available immediately. I called in and Christian (sp?) was SUPER amazing and helpful and he held them for us. 30 min later we picked them up in our moving truck. Awesome customer service. Awesome price matching (beating). Great all around!

Very good knowledge of the product

It was an alright experience. Probably wouldn’t shop there again. The sales associate, Ginger, was knowledgeable but she just seemed to care more about the people around us and not really focused on helping us. As she was getting our information and order in the system she would ask other people what they were looking for. I understand telling them to give her a moment since she is with customers but it seemed like she didn’t want to pay attention to us. Once we decided what mattress to buy she told us to meet her around the building. We were out there for 15-20 minutes waiting for her. This was so that she could help the other group of people in the store, even though there was another sale associate that could have helped them. In my opinion I feel like she was focused on making a sale rather than the customers experience. The mattress is nice though.

Scott was able to help me, he was generous and thoughtful even though I was changing things up, I defiantly say I would recommend the store and him if you need a new mattress.

Very helpful. Took time to explain different options and let us make up our minds instead of just saying this is right for you like folks in other stores we went to. Also asked lots of questions to help direct us and explained what we were feeling in the different options.

I purchased a mattress set beautiful black, gray and tufted white pillow top 2 years ago and paid almost $900 dollars for it. It’s one of your brands and the foundation is now broken. Mattress firm was not my first choice but they came highly recommended. I tried to access the warranty and was denied, due to the frame being the wrong frame, but it’s the frame that came from your store. So now I have to pay money for another foundation. I already paid out more than I should have for a queen size mattress that’s really just okay and foundation, it is not worth the money I paid for it. Mad and disappointed, never again. You should get the quality you pay for.

My review is geared towards Mattress Firm and their warranty claims team and NOT towards the Mechanicsville location specifically, I am writing the review in hopes MF sees it and that others may learn from my experience.We were in the market for a new mattress and the VERY GOOD sales person at this location assisted us in reviewing available mattresses to the point we were ready to buy, because we had a damaged mattress, the salesman suggested we file a warranty claim (only 4-5 year old mattress) and once that was resolved, we could use the $$ towards a new purchase.. We filed the claim, provided all necessary photos, and the claim was almost IMMEDIATELY denied stating we didnt have enough slats under the box spring (3 slats that came with the bed frame).. The damage present is to the mattress, nearly a 2inch valley crease on one side, making sleep very uncomfortable.I asked that they reconsider their position and provided several facts including the delivery team did not mention needing additional slats, the original salesman didnt mention slats and we rotate the mattress often, so why damage on one side and not both? They responded almost right away saying that the claim has been closed and that we could resubmit again once the damage reached their measurement threshold.. NOTE, the measuring device they provide is a print out piece of paper, so it weighs nothing, it wasnt enough pressure to push down the mattress cover to show the true extent of the damage present.I did however advise them that we were not filing further claims and we would be purchasing a mattress elsewhere.. We purchased a purple mattress online from Purple direct and it delivered via Fedex within 5 or so days and we are happy with the product.We had no preexisting expectations for a large sum of $ back from Mattress Firm, we would have been happy with $100 off towards our new mattress that we would have definitely purchased there from this particular salesman.. However they lost a sale because of their lack of customer care and willingness to get off $$ they would have made back in the mattress sale!

Great experience! Last time my husband and I went mattress shopping it was fairly unpleasant. However, when we walked into Mattress Firm today, we were greeted by Julie right away, who stated she was with another customer but would help us shortly, and invited us to try out some of the mattresses. After finishing up with her customer she came over and introduced herself, asked us a few questions. We told her we had come in to look for a specific mattress that we had seen online for sale. She was very enthusiastic and showed us what we were looking for right away. Even though the mattress was in the value section, she didn’t pester us with trying to move to a “better mattress”, out of our price range, which I cannot stress enough, was so refreshing. Julie was very knowledgeable, friendly, gave great advice, and showed us all our options and answered all our questions. Seriously, Julie made our buying experience so great and easy...highly recommend going to Mattress Firm and asking for Julie, she is awesome!!!

Sales rep very professional and conscientious of covid restrictions

We went to this location to pick up a bed that we had arranged to purchase. I cant say enough nice things about the two gentlemen, Christian and Stan, who helped us with the transaction and also tying the mattress with twine to the top of our car. Stan even gave us instructions on the best road to drive into Richmond on, so as to avoid the highway because of bed on top of the car.When we met with Christian, he informed us there was actually a floor model bed which was better than the one we had planned to leave with, and normally it was more expensive but it was on sale. So not only did we leave with a better bed but we ended up spending less than we had expected!Two enthusiastic thumbs up for Christian and Stan! Id highly recommend this location and chain to anyone in the Richmond area looking to buy a new bed.

I received excellent service here when I went in looking for a base for a mattress I already owned. I mistakenly asked for a frame when I really needed a platform, but they were incredibly understanding and helped me through the whole process. I was offered carry out service to my car after my purchase. They also were very knowledgeable and helpful about some questions we had about a possible future mattress purchase. I will absolutely be shopping there again.
