Bought a diamond necklace for my girlfriend at this store from an associate for her birthday well in advance of her birthday. I mentioned at the time of purchasing it that I wasn’t sure she’d like it and asked about returning it if that was the case. The associate said just bring in the receipt and the item and we’ll refund your Kay Card. I did just that after she didn’t like the necklace. I was told the only option was to exchange for something else. She found what she wants for her birthday elsewhere. When I asked the associate who I could talk to about the issue, they gave me a 1-800 number to call. After I called the 1-800 number, they suggested that the issue be handled directly in the store with the store manager. So I went back in to talk to the store manager, Eric Schiffler. I explained the situation to him & he fumbled around on his computer for about 10 minutes and told me there was nothing he could do aside from exchange the necklace & said he even tried to override the system. You’d think a store manager should have the credentials to override a transaction if your associates blatantly lied (or I guess possibly wasn’t trained well enough) to the customer about being able to return the item, knowing that the customer told them at the time of purchasing it, it was a gift that was to be opened on a date outside of the return policy. I’ve spent nearly $6,000 at this store specifically over the past 2.5 years and will never go back, thanks to poor customer service by Eric and his associates.

My husband and I got married two months ago, we bought thousands of dollars worth of jewelry here. We went to the lake and my husband lost his wedding band. We thought one of the protection packages that Kay constantly tries to sell to customers at the checkout was a package covering lost/stolen/damaged rings. I called and spoke to the store and they were less than friendly when they told me that they couldn’t help me at all and I would completely have to purchase a new $600 ring. I am so disappointed they didn’t at all try to help us when we have been such loyal customers. On top of this, the person I spoke to was very rude when he told me that there was no other option besides purchasing an entirely new ring. I will NEVER buy anything from here again. Overpriced and unhelpful.

I purchased a ring that I found online. Kate who assisted me in locating the ring at a Kay store in another state was extremely helpful and made the process very easy for me. I highly recommend Kay Jewelers, Kate at the Maumee store if you want excellent service and ease of shopping without pressure.

I wanted to say thank you to the sales associates at the Kay Jewlers at Fallen Timbers in OH. I am from MI and was visiting my sister. We both were able to get our rings inspected together and I found out mine had an issue with one of my diamonds. They were able to send it in for me from OH. So thankful they took care of me. Great Service!

They were happy to sell me my $1,200 + watch but when I needed to go back and purchase a battery for it (Fallen Timbers location) I was told they were unable to help me. They claimed they were open for sales only and not for warranty work. I let them know I was willing to pay for the battery and that I didn’t need it covered under warranty. However they didn’t seem to care and said I could buy a new watch but not a battery. I’ll never be going back.

I’ve been calling this place for 3 days, they open at 11am and they can’t answer the phone. Unless there’s 10 people in the store at 11, and only 1 sales associate I can see them not answering: come on and the phone and at least say “Hold please”

Drove up shortly after 3pm to get my fiancé his wedding band. Got there and there was a sign on the door that said something like “out to lunch until 4:00”. Pretty frustrating, who takes a lunch that late and shuts down their whole store? We’ll be going elsewhere in the area.

Needed to have an engagement ring sized that was purchased 2 1/2 weeks prior and to look at rings for the Groom. Patti waited on us and she was not personable and our experience was not good!! They way she treated us about the sizing was so terrible that we didnt even ask for help purchasing a Grooms ring. That night I looked at the receipt and seen that she listed the condition of the ring as scratched. That was concerning to me because the ring was just purchased. I went to the store the next day to ask about this and the associate who helped me first stated she needed to ask because with it being new but worn she would have marked it as normal wear, however, she went to ask Patti and Patti came over and said she HAD to mark it scratched because it was not straight out of the box and that it was worn and that it did have scratches on it. I questioned how it could have scratches and she said It did but dont worry it will come back looking like brand new well I hope it comes back looking brand new because it is!! The ring was worn a couple times in the week of the engagement. I just dont see how it could be scratched already and why didnt she show us the scratches to prove it did before she marked it as scratched and sent it out. I feel this was marked intentionally to cover any possible scratches while being sent out. This is my first time using Kay Jewelers and after I pick up the ring when it comes back it will be my last time using that location!! I will definitely make sure they show me the scratches if any when I take it to get cleaned. Both experiences with Patti were very unfavorable!!

Lol had to update this after what I heard today in the store. The review the guy wrote about trying to return a Diamond necklace or bracelet or whatever. I don’t understand people. I was in the store buying something for my girlfriend when he tried to return whatever it was that he bought and he seemed like one of those guys who would write a review and boy did he prove me right. There are signs up that say 30 days to return and 60 to exchange. It’s July 8th and the associate reminded him that he bought that back in May lol. Now he is all mad that they actually FOLLOW THEIR POLICIES!! I read reviews all the time how people get upset with Kay’s when 90% of the time it’s their own fault. When the store follows their policies and it helps them they are happy but when they follow their policies and it doesn’t help them they cry. Have I been happy all the time when I get something there? Not every time but that happens. I’ve shopped there for the past 6 years and am very happy with the customer service of the employees there. I’ll be back for sure! Oh and my girlfriend loved the Diamond earrings I got her today!Don’t listen to the last review. I went in there and due to COVID they were not able to change my watch battery in the store but had to send it out. I had the warranty so it didn’t cost me a dime. Yes it can’t be done right then and there but people have to just accept that things like this are going to happen right now. Everyone there was extremely nice and friendly and I know I’ll be back very soon!!!

I went in to the store at fallen timbers on 12/30/18 to have my wedding rings inspected per usual and requested they be sent out as I no longer wanted them soldered. I was working with Patti Kirsch, the office manager. She stated no that she didn’t agree with sending them to be taken apart because I should have them reset at the event they have coming up. I explained that I no longer wanted them soldered and she continued to argue. At this point I was very uncomfortable as I do not like confrontation.Patti then sat me down and started looking for my husband and I’s store account as it must be updated stating my jewelry was inspected to keep my warranty active. She stated she needed to update the account to make it easier to locate and asked me a few questions including my social security number. This should have been a red flag. She handed me a card and sent me on my way with an appointment for the resetting event.Before leaving I asked another associate to help me as I still wanted to send my jewelry sent out to be separated. This woman kindly obliged.It wasn’t until I was getting into my car and driving home did I realize what had just happened. I called the store and Patti said yes she had opened a store credit card for me. This was without my permission completely ( my husband is an accountant and we don’t take our credit scores lightly), no signature was requested, nothing about my income.I explained I needed to speak with a district manager, Jodi Sullivan (the district manager) finally called me on 1/11/19 from the store I was making the complaint about but I was working and missed the call. So when I called back Patti answered and stated Jodi was no longer in but she would text her and let her know I called. Still no return call from Jodi. I called corporate and she left on 1/21/19 for a two week vacation and no one else is allowed to help me with my case. We are nearing a month with the his issue. This is my first yelp review ever, but I thought if I can save someone else from the same issue, which I have now contacted the police about, then I should try.Wow, just wow.

The store manager of the Maumee, OH location, Patti Kirsch, is the true meaning of extraordinary client experience. I needed a repair done on my ring. She not only accommodated getting this taken care of she reached out to call me throughout the entire process. Pleasant, communicated what to expect, and just truly went out of her way! No. I would never recommend this store at Fallen Timbers. I have had nothing but problems with service over the years. They lost the stem to my gold watch and tried to tell me it was my fault, told me my small clock was defective and took it elsewhere and it was fine. They put in the wrong replacement battery in my watches twice now, had it fixed elsewhere.And dont even think of dealing with primadonna so-called manager Patti. Rude, insulting, lazy. I could go on and on. No one with long fake nails should be attempting to change a battery in a watch. At least ask her co-worker to help. Of course my watch didnt work and I had to go elsewhere to get the battery placed in correctly. Give me a royal break!!

My fiancé and I have had the best experience with this store and will never go anywhere else for our jewelry needs! While we did purchase my engagement ring at the Franklin park mall store with no troubles we were excited when we realized we wouldnt have to go to the mall anymore! From the first time weve gone in just looking for wedding bands they have been helpful! They asked about us and our everyday lives to find the best options for us. When they suggested a custom band for my ring I was a little hesitant but they explained the process and then gave us time alone to discuss the option we wanted to go with. After we decided on the custom route the process was very fun to see my ring go from an idea to a beautiful piece of jewelry was very exciting! It was all very quick and simple as well! Ive had my ring sized a couple times and once it was running behind they kept me updated on when it would be back and offered to call and push for them to hurry. Weve never felt pressure from them to purchase anything which was refreshing and why we originally came back. However, after all the great customer service well never go anywhere else again!

The 1 Star is for how beautiful my ring is. I love it and couldn’t ask for a better one. But I’m only giving 1 star because of the service I got while trying to resize my ring. For one, they never ever answer the phone. I was trying to get mine resized for a week and called multiple times during their business hours and not once did they answer the phone. What kind of business does not answer their phone? When I finally drove to the store with my questions and to get it resized they were rude about me asking to try the ring size thing on my finger to make sure I was going to order the correct size. Very unprofessional employees working and when I tried calling about getting my band ordered they still didn’t answer until after a week of trying. Beautiful rings at Kay, but would not recommend the fallen timbers location. Absolute terrible service!!!

Absolutely the worst customer care I had today! Walked in at 130pm! Got work at 2pm which is down the street only 5 min AWAY!I walk in hoping it be a breeze, walk in and make a payment and walk out....but no...I walk in and was not greeted! Not looked at!Waited at the desk patiently for 20 MINUTES!ARE YOU SERIOUS!?gave up and walked out and wasnt even talked to or looked at. WORST CUSTOMER CARE THAT DAY EVER!I had great customer care days other times and this was just not professional!!!!!!!

Walked in the store today with my boyfriend to look at engagement rings. We were helped by a woman named Shanna; she was wonderful, personable, and super helpful. Can’t recommend her enough. However, Patti (the store manager), came over halfway during the process and was EXTREMELY pushy towards my boyfriend regarding financing and purchasing a ring today (we had no intention of doing this - which we stated). She was asking when he was planning on proposing - something I explicitly stated to her that he not give an answer to in front of me, yet she kept asking. She then had the audacity to ask if my boyfriend could even afford the rings I was looking at. Lady, he’s an engineer - we wouldn’t be looking at 2 carat rings if he couldn’t afford to purchase one. The more he kept telling her that he wasn’t interested in getting pre-approved for financing today, the more rude she became before finally walking away. Pretty much turned us off from going back there.

Got a necklace for Christmas. Chain broke, took it back for a new chain and then it broke the next day. Love the pendant but the chains are cheaply made. Glad I got the warranty but its a pain to drive there back and forth all the time.

They made the process of selecting a ring for my now Fiancé a breeze, handled my problems with financial issues with a smile on their faces, and truly made me feel like family when Im in here. I was in the store in November lurching a ring for my daughter and I wanted to add the extended warranty to my ring. They added the warranty to the wrong ring and now that I have a problem with the one that should be covered they want to charge me more. I’m sorry but they messed up and won’t admit it and now I can’t get my ring fixed. Won’t be back to this store and will advised my family and friends to go to another store.

Me and my fiance went into the store to buy our wedding bands this past Black Friday. Of all the things, we thought wedding bands would be a simple part of the wedding process. We went into the store and found bands we both liked! That was the only good part of this experience. We were offered a Kay credit card, which we politely declined, even though if were to sign up, we would get discounts off both of our rings. The salesman did give $100 off of her ring to begin with since we were buying both of our rings there at the same time. We decided to do a payment plan for her ring, and also get her engagement ring resized. When we went to go do the paperwork, we were handed multiple pieces of paper, and asked a multitude of questions. Knowing we were gonna go on the payment plan, I did not mind answering questions about my SSN # and such. While filling out the paperwork, we confirmed multiple times with the associate, that we were NOT getting a CC. He confirmed that was true, just a payment plan. Well first we get her engagement ring back, and the size was wrong! They had to send it back out because they messed up the sizing. Now a week later, a credit card arrived in my name from Kay. Me and my fiance both called into the store, and spoke with the manager, both obviously irritated and a bit angry over what we felt was misled information. The manager was both unhelpful, and told us both that we could not doing anything about because I signed some papers. Foolish on me, I realize this now. So what turned out to be a simple visit, has turned into a headache, a drain on our credit, and has given us something we both dont want, and we have yet to receive the rings. Poor customer service and follow through. All I wanted was what I payed for and nothing more, and it is obvious that this store does not offer that possibility.

I am ordering watches for employees 5 year anniversary gifts. It is quite a large order that is very specific and detailed. Ive been working with Kevin from the store in Fallen Timbers, Maumee, Ohio. His attention to detail and care that hes taken while working with me have been exceptional! I will highly recommend this location and we will be returning in the years to come for future employee anniversaries.
