Everything was alright till I made the mistake in not going to self check.I was greeted by a very rude cashier whom got angry when I didnt hear what she had mumbled.I decided I didnt really want to continue with her so I started taking my groceries back off the belt she then snatched my chicken nd wasnt going to give it back.My son,who has seen the whole thing started helping me get the rest of our groceries back in the cart.I have not had that experience ever nd I wont again because I will not go back to this place.

The strawberry milk that I have to walk all the way into the back corner of every other Walmart is visible from the front door. Simply amazing 👍👍👍The store is probably the best run Walmart i have been to.Nothing to do with the strawberry milk 😉

So walmart has just officially lost my business we go out there everyday and spend over $100 well today we go out there and we buy a few things and some garden seeds and the lady stops us at the door and check our receipt no big deal but when she sits their and tries saying she dont see all the seeds and I try showing her and tell her 3 times to get a manager and she still wants to argue with me I was ready to take everything down to customer service and return it all Im not sure if that was a manager that told her that was enough I understand doing your job but that was overboard I am not a theif and I do not like being treated like a theif I saw this same lady a couple of days ago arguing with a boy trying to get a wheelchair cart for his grandma whi was disabled cause she wanted to take it in and I could here the grandma yelling from the truck that he was getting it for her very bad customer service I have never been so angry my blood was boiling her name was marsh and I understand doing your job but going overboard and harassing paying customers is just plain wrong

Very obnoxious before closing. Many announcements the last 20 minutes. I understand wanting to get finished up but at least be nice about it.

The only reason it doesnt get 5 stars from me is because of the self check out.Very well stocked and clean store.Wish my hometown WM was this nice.

Our cashier, Beth double scanned some of our items, and the people in line ahead of us too. Had to go to customer service desk for it to be corrected and the customer service associate was calling her names and making fun of her. No one went to help the cashier as she was new and very overwhelmed from not being trained well. I felt bad for her and I hope they help her because she is super nice.

This is a Walmart and you can expect this location to be on the cleaner side. When you go to check out their seems to be a lack of open checkout lanes.

The grocery pick-up service went smoothly. It is really convenient.I have only had one issue with pickup, but it was taken care of quickly. The supervisor was great.

Very busy always it seems, probably because of the next nearest is questionable. Yet, has a good selection of products and shelves are stocked for the most part. Staff is very friendly and both end self checkouts assist in getting in and out very convenient without having to wait in line.

Walmart in Mattoon is always stocked. I prefer to shop here than at the one in Charleston.It fruit is always fresh looking. If you need help. They are there. Polite service

I might only need a loaf of bread, gallon of milk and sometimes carton of eggs but I sure as heck Im going to check out that clearance love it even if I dont buy it second best idea Walmart and Mattoon Illinois and Charleston has had since online grocery pickup.... I really do love this Walmart, they have most groceries that we use in our home from gluten free options to dairy free options and are always stocked up. Im giving them a 3 star because of their customer service, we walk in and we have to greet the greeter, most times not getting a response back. We walk through the isles and are ignored by associates, and often ignored at check out as well.

Stepping between to women fighting tonight... one hour later I am approached by their loss prevention. They threaten me with being trespassed for doing so. This is what’s wrong with our world today and Mattoon Walmart promotes it. Mattoon Police stood as she did so. SHAME ON YOU!

Eh, it’s Walmart. Employees look dead inside, not very friendly, but the store is clean and they’ve cleaned up the electronics section nicely as far as organization and presentation goes.

I dont enjoy the service at all. They need a new manager. As I walked into automotive area an associate asked if he could help me. I said I just need to buy some oil. I proceeded to get the oil off the shelf then went straight to checkout at automotive center. The associate then came in helping another customer and walked right back out with other customer. It took 10 minutes for another associate to actually checkout my oil so I could be on my way.Her kindness and apologize for delay is why I scored 2 Stars otherwise it would have been no Stars. 😥 I will never go back there. I will park at the front of Wal-Mart and go through self checkout. Im sure I will be on my way faster.

I went to the Auto Center today, and let me tell you, EVERY single employee was kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and over all amazing. Specifically Travis and Jamarcus, I believe are their names, but every employee was gracious. We had a flat and were stranded for hours, but the Auto employees got us home. We thank them and appreciate all of their help.

I love Walmart, and generally would rate it 5 stars. This one in particular loses a star because of its customer service center. Almost everytime Ive returned an item or had any type of issue with a product, Ive had to wait what seems like an excessively long time in line, considering that i try to avoid going during the peak shopping times. Although the employees working in that area are pleasant, there seems to be one or two that are slower functioning or happen to be new to that position, which leads to long lines and patience struggles.

Overall usually a decent experience. Front end is always desperately under staffed, so if you are grabbing more than a few items expect a wait. Normally, the store is appropriately stocked.

Walmart is not one of my favorites. But ok. Had different items to pick up, so good for that. Always takes twice as long because so spread out. Was looking all over for charcoal lighter, it was in the very far corner of the back of garden center. Its grilling season, those things should all be together and where you can find to buy.

I do grocery pick up orders here. Ive noticed that intend to get the beat up boxes dented cans and weird shaped vegetables 😳 I wish I had taken a picture of my sweet potatoes they were literally over 2lbs a piece and I ordered 5 intending to cook them individually for side for dinner. These potatoes were big enough for an entire meal 🤣Overall, this is your typical Walmart just buyer be aware your pick up orders may have just gotten interesting!

This place seems to be filled with unmasked and rambunctious teens who are out simply because there is nothing better to do. That isnt the establishments fault but it certainly makes me less inclined to go there. That said, I can usually find what I went to get am able to get out quickly. It is Walmart- what can you expect?

Never any check lanes open except for the self check lanes or the cigarette lane that is only 20 items or less but let people with full carts go through. If you are going to only have the self check lanes open have a 50% off button for doing the stores work.

Great service, excellent product availability. However, majority of customers were not wearing masks, and a few workers were not properly wearing masks. I asked the employee at the doors why they werent stopping customers without masks, per the law. Because of Covid. The employee simply shrugged and gave an excuse. Ive tried to call Walmart Corporate, Ive tried to contact the health department. Apparently this is the only way to say something without being on hold for two hours then losing connection.

This specific location... I would rather spend the extra money shopping at County Market or risking my frozen food thawing driving to Charleston WalMart.Not only do they hire and fire in the same minute and treat their employees horribly, but also the lack of organization and people willing to be paid next to nothing and treated like monkeys shows A LOT with lack of inventory most times.

These folks are absolutely militant about checking your receipt as you exit the building. Manager has zero sympathy for you if you are aware of your rights and refuse. Will threaten to ban you for life if you refuse. Dont want to wear a.mask to protect others from COVID? No problem. Dont want to show your receipt? Busted!

Love it when Im back in town as this Walmart is Clean, Safe and has a great supply of EVERYTHING! Most of all, the employees are very helpful and friendly.

As I came in I stood there. The person who suppose to greet folks totally ignored me. I finally ask her to please get me a card where I can sit in. She rudly said, we dont have one available. Ask her, if she could ask the other side. I spoke with Charlie the manager and told him what had aspired. He apologized. I was terrible upset.

Horrible customer service dirty store and workers that dont have a clue how to even use their registers. Management staff are lazy. They take advantage of covid by making up their own return policies as they go along. Making people stuck with items that they do not want and then claiming they cannot do certain types of refunds due to covid.

Walmart made Billions during the Feardemic while small business were destroyed and families suffered.

We haven’t had any issues with the local Wal-Mart. They always have the stuff we need and prices are good.

Very pleased costumer. I can spend some hours in here. No one bothers u. If u need help the workers are always around to help. And plus thing is if im hungry i can go grab a quick bite from the food side. Walmart has it all i should say.

It appeared to be very well staffed today! There were several lanes with cashiers and multiple stocking shelves.

The store is easy to navigate and restrooms were very clean.

Its never the walmart thats the problem, its the people in it..Also, never got that ten foot greeting in my life or any other acknowledgement from staff until the pandemic.... Now they cant wait to walk by and stare while shouting, ___ minutes!!!!! We close in ___ minutes...Let me tell you though, that little blonde lady, Penny. She is and always has been the sweetest, most welcoming employee they have, and when she is at a register I will wait in line just to go to her for some friendly, human service. Exceptional.

Vegetables will not scan, finally had the grocery belted self-checkouts opened. Self checkout host was nice and asked if I was doing okay and saw that I was waiting on the register

Its a Walmart like any other. It tends to be clean and well stocked. The issue I take with this location is the way they treat all of their customers like criminals by asking every single person for a receipt as they leave. Fun fact: youre not, in any way shape or form, obligated to provide your receipt as you leave. I wish others would stop allowing Walmart to treat them like theyre guilty until they prove their innocence.

The only Walmart I found that sells winter jackets for men.

They allow semi-truck parking, so theyre already guaranteed a pretty positive review. The employees are very friendly and helpful, and its a pretty clean store, too.Just as an aside, the fella in the RV parked behind me left a shopping cart full of trash, and then proceeded to take his German Shepherd out to do its business. It rubs me wrong knowing that truck drivers are likely to take the blame. 😕

Another lady u0026 myself had trouble getting gift cards. She couldnt pay cash u0026 I never got a gift receipt. Casher said I had to ask for it. I was in there last week u0026 never ask but still they gave me a gift receipt. It was for Christmas u0026 it had trees. Why else would I B buying them. I will go somewhere else to get gift cards now.

Quick efficient, pickups are easy and in store service is average. Employeee are a mix of friendly and rude. Some will help you carry your bags, while others sulk when you ask for a receipt.

Where should I start employees are rude floors are nasty the deli employees dont wear beard masks or wash their hands and dont even wear gloves while handling food. Soo gross needs to be shut down

No body ever in electric and my last viset to get a tv I had called 4 times for them to answer then hang up after I told them needs to speck to someone electric but no one will answer then I was hung up on 4 times called electric section nobody ever answered,, I have realized that the worker that are friendly and want to help u work the door the stock secret shopper or whatever there called have became ruder and ruder ..and Ive noticed. This before Xmas the greater are fantastic and some checker but floor assistant is terrible

I dont go to Walmart very often and when I do, I usually regret it. Why must the shelves be stocked during the day? Your employees are in the way! I know they are doing what they are told, but why cant they do this overnight? Especially now when the stores are closedUnfortunately, I was there on Sunday morning about 915 after church. Lines were long, people were grouchy. It was just another reminder why I dont shop there often.Produce was picked over with cantelopes soft. I should have returned it, but then I would have to go back. Try harder folks.

So.... in January 2021, I got a Switch game for 38.99 witch it was normally 60 dollars, also i paid with a 50 Dollar Store Credit card and had a few dollars left over(I got the $50 store credit at the South Decatur Wal-Mart after returning a duplicate Lego set)Ill be headed back someday.

They were busy but it was 5pm on a Friday. While my other half waited in line to pay for his phone in electronics, I ventured on over to the art supplies and got my fix of blue acrylics. 4 shades of beautiful blues just for me and my art. And then we were out if there. I dont know what would have made our trip any smoother.

Register workers wear masks but weres the safety when I walk thru the store and I notice workers stocking produce without masks, filling online orders without masks, vendors for beer or chips no masks and stocking shelves. Dont feel real safe..

If I have just checked out at your register I do not need you to look through my packages as I am leaving. If you do not trust the competency of your cashiers this is not my concern. Believe someone is stealing then up.your security, do not hassle people that have already handed over their hard earned money to you and have better things to do then to be stopped and slowed again ! Had it not been with my grandchildren for school supplies I would not have been there because of this new policy. I still have 3 grandchildren to go school shopping with . We will be going elsewhere

I have a severe disability and had tried purchasing some fireworks and my 17 year old rang them up and the self checkout person come over beraiting me and was rufusing to sell them to me even when I was the one paying for it. People stereotype too much and she should have listened to what I had said. I’m sure she had done it a lot and needs to realize not everything is the same and needs to quit taking this so personal even after I explained to her that I have MS and was buying them myself.

Produce was great. Checkout lines not too backed up. My visit to Walmart was rather pleasant.

Well kept store friendly employees. I dont know why it seems the further away from the Chicago area the nicer the stores and employees are. I love Walmarts but come on Walmart upgrade your inner city stores to reflect what Walmarts should be.

It took me 15 minutes to get through only one of the four lines they had open. If course, all the self check lanes were open but, I dont get paid to shop! The guy that checked me out was as slow as a sloth with the covid 19, piggy backing an elephant while wearing a blindfold. Dont they train these people??? It was ridiculous!!!
