Harry and Chris were really helpful to get us in the car we wanted. They didn’t push too hard and it was a smooth process overall.
We visited during a sales event to purchase a vehicle. The salesman was so persistent in showing us everything except what we wanted. The guy wasted our time, then left us out in the parking lot for 10 minutes after we test drove a vehicle....we left. Way more to the story but we went to KIA in Collinsville and picked up a vehicle that day. Great experience at Nelson KIA, not here.
I can’t say enough good things about my recent experience with Nelson Ford and with Eric Friedhoff in particular. He listened to what I was looking for and never tried to push me into a car. He helped me find the car I was looking for, even when it turned out that it wasn’t on the lot. Eric has been reachable any time of day and always responded quickly, even on his day off. (This has continued after the sale as well.) There was a car on the lot that was very close to what I wanted. They made me a great deal, but in the end, I wanted to be sure I got the exact options I wanted. They worked for a week with dealers in neighboring states trying to find my car. They found the car I wanted, worked out a great deal, and I couldn’t be happier.I came into the situation wanting to support Nelson, having seen everything they do in our community. People go to other cities and states to buy cars, but Nelson worked with me as good as or better than any dealer I’ve worked with in Roanoke, Greensboro, or Charlotte. I am proud that I was able to get the car I wanted, at the deal I wanted, and was able to support such a great business in our community. Thank you Nelson Ford, and especially Eric and Danny who helped put me in my new car.

John and the management team spent several hours trying to find us a 2015 Explorer it just was not meant to be. They understood what we were looking for and the price we needed to be at. My husband and I had a pretty specific list of what we wanted in a car and only one day to shop together. After exhausting our local resources we traveled to Martinsville and met Chris Davis. He found us a great car and was very nice to work with.The team at Nelson made the transition from old to new quick, easy and seamless. Tags, title, registration, insurance - they took care of everything.

Although I was not expecting to buy a new car, due to the fact that I wrecked in the recent snow storm, I had no choice. Not only did we have an amazing experience purchasing a vehicle for our daughter to go off to college with but we have had continued positive experience in bringing the vehicle in for upkeep and scheduled maintenance. Okay, Ill let you know that I am not going to say anything about the buying of a vehicle. I was thinking of just telling you about how I got from close to Roanoke VA to Martinsville.I had applied for a loan for people with bad credit called ROADLOAN. I was given a set of restrictions that is a little more than hard to achieve.They said it had to be a 2010 or newer and less than 110000 miles and the price was not to be over $9000 No problem right?I am disabled and wanted two things that I really need. Automatic and AWD or 4x4.I dont blame the dealership for my credit problem. I dont have anything to do with it either except for being married 24 years and then divorced and she bankrupted.My credit took a big hit and I cant do anything about it.I do know you are looked at differently and you are not going to be a priority. I did not think I was going to be helped and I told Kayla on the phone but she was sure they could .First, in all of the pre owned vehicles in all of the Nelson dealerships there was not one that was able to match the parameters of ROADLOAN. But of course as I suspected they were going to try to get me a loan from their own large group of financial institutions.I was not told if I was okayed cause we had not found a vehicle that I was needing. I was being a hard head for not dropping my want of 4x4 AWD. I of course could be just as safe and be able to get around with a front wheel drive FWD. I was told that before and I was stuck and sliding across highways.So I saw the process stop. I finally was told after being there for 3 or more hours and never left the salesmans desk to go home and they would CALL ME if this one vehicle that is just coming in would be a match.I drove back home and I would check my phone every so often but no sign of a call telling me if they did or did not find anything.The next day sometime around noon I got an email from a lady who was saying that she just was calling me to talk about...I dont know what.I called and she was obviously aware of the answer. Yet I was just told something like they hope I can find something soon. Not that they didnt get the vehicle but if I need to ask any questions in the future they are there.I told her that I was still waiting on that call from the salesman I had who told me HE WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY FOUND OUT.No he didnt have time. With all of the customers I saw come in (ONE) he couldnt find the time.As a customer, even one who is credit score challenged it felt as though because they couldnt find a loan for me I no longer was of importance to the salesman or Nelson Automotive.THEY didnt have the vehicle.I actually was told by my salesman that I need to be thankful if I did get a loan and not be basically so picky and I dont have much of a choice. Huh? I said I have a choice, I can say no if I didnt like the vehicle. He was no longer the person who I met hours before.I realize that dealerships are a business and depends on banks and credit unions to come through but I know you cant do it without money.I dont think the sales was into the loan from the start but it was not them who set the parameters.I just will TRY to make a way to get some vehicle but if not I will be okay.All in all I had a up and down relationship with Nelson Ford and I dont understand why I was sent there and even though I checked the inventory online and called I was told to come in and I will be taken care of. Well not this time and I dont see any reason to try in the future. I dont think I am worthy.
Staff is very professional. Just took my Mazda in for a recall. Wasnt there an hour before they had it ready to go. Not once did any one try to push me into more than what I was there.
Excellent experience! These guys were very straight up and did not play the typical car dealer games. I purchased a new Explorer and I feel great about it. The sales staff was very available, knowledgable, and helpful in finding the right vehicle for my family. The price negotiation was not the usual smoke and mirrors, but was handled professionally. I would definitely recommend that you spend some time looking around the website and then go on over to the dealership. Ask for Scott... he was great in working with me and I feel sure he will do the same for you!JL

Huge thanks to Scott for helping make the purchase of my first car incredibly smooth. I can say with full confidence, having done my research, that I could NOT have gotten a better deal elsewhere. I told Scott exactly what I wanted and thats what I got. After-sale customer service has been wonderful, too. When there was a hiccup in getting my car from a lot in NC, the dealership manager and inspection team stayed late so they could make sure I was driving off the lot that day with my new car as promised. When I realized my navigation card wasnt included with my car, I called Scott. He immediately called the dealership in NC where they got my car, and went to bat for me when they insisted it had been included (it hadnt)! In the end, we got my nav card. Another smooth transaction.I actually live out of state now but wanted to make a deal with Nelson since I grew up in Martinsville, and Im glad I did. No need to go far to get the car you want. If you know its out there, they can get it on the lot for you. Thanks again.
