They keep changing the name, but Express Modular/Impreza Modular are the same. You will be on the hook if anything goes wrong. The contract is written so that you dont have much recourse and they try to stick you with the bill for their awful incompetence. Go find a local guy who has his own set crew.

Our house burned down, and we had a very contentious insurance company.Ken at Express Modular did a great job with our project. It was fully customized, and they were happy to put in things like a spigot in the mud good for our automatic dog waterer, 2 dishwashers, and a recirculation hot water pump for the master shower- so the water is instantly hot, saves so much water! The house is beautiful and we love it. Ken and Express Modular definitely get our vote. Take a factory tour if you can!

I had a great experience with Express. Very friendly and willing to work with you in any way possible. We were able to fully customize our house from scratch and they helped input with their expertise and knowledge along the way. The quality of the building is fantastic. I am very pleased with the craftsmanship and would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to do a modular home.

I’ve been living in my new home for 8 years. We worked through Express and Excel. The house is fabulous. We took an existing design and redid all of the interior rooms, windows, and doors until we had just what we wanted. Express and Excel were awesome through the design phase. Ken helped us work through every last option and was the backbone that kept the project together.I enjoyed “building the house” myself. From move-out and demo of the old house to move in with occupancy certificate was 4 months. The house was set in mid January and we moved in March 1st. So, took us about 1.5 months to complete. We could have made 1 month if the gas company would have showed up to connect the gas line, but that’s par for the course here.It was a busy month and a half. I still worked my real job, but took a lot of vacation days. I was on site every evening after work. I’d run home on lunch breaks to meet inspectors. I closed down Home Depot 3-4 times a week buying crucial little things I’d forgotten.May seem crazy, but 8 years later my wife and I are considering doing it again for a vacation house! We’ll use Express again. Yes, doing it yourself is challenging, but I love the challenge and the reward of knowing what I accomplished. Plus, it saves money, and you have complete control over the entire process (well except the utility companies :-)In conclusion, definitely would do-it-my-self again, definitely would use Express again.

Our experience with the Express Modular team was a very positive one. Ken was very patient and accommodating throughout the entire process. I think we challenged the team with some of our design ideas, but they always found a way to satisfy our request. The detailed pricing they provided was extremely helpful with budgeting. Ken made himself available to us to address any questions or concerns throughout the entire process and after. Everyone we encountered in the Express Modular team was honest, knowledgeable, helpful and professional. By the end of the process we considered Ken a friend more than our builder. We would highly recommend Express Modular to anyone who is interested in building a home. Thanks to Ken and his team, we are living in our dream home.

It’s was great in beginning. The office admin answered my general questions. However, when I booked an appt for a consult it was a no call no show on express modular part. I could have rebooked on Monday but I feel a project this big should have clear communication especially when your office is not local. I took their no show as a sign to find a local modular company.

I have tried over a month to talk to anyone at this business. Every email I send subsribes me to their spam list with three emails a week, but no response from a person. I called at least 10 times, multiple messages, no response. I am in Washington. I even emailed their HQ to get help.... got added to the spam list again. I am not sure this is even a real business.

It appears that Express Modular does not actually exist – it’s just a sham company with an impressive website. I get ghost emails from an automated response system, but no one EVER responds to my actual emails. The availability information on their website is more than misleading - its a flat-out lie. They claim to sell homes nationwide, but the person who answers their phone says they do not sell in my state, or in any of the six neighboring states I inquired about.I wasted precious time planning my house based on Express Modular’s website information, but there is absolutely no evidence to support their claim that they build and sell actual modular homes. It appears to be a shell company with a pretty website but no real product. If you’re in the market for a modular home, skip right on past Express Modular’s website. It’s filled with colorful promises of all they have to offer, but the promises are empty. Your home building plans and questions will go straight into a black hole and you’ll never connect with an actual person. The only response you will ever get from Express Modular is a generic, essentially worthless, weekly automated email that contains no useful information.Shame on you, Express Modular, for leading people on and wasting their time with a flashy website filled with bald face lies.

I called and left a couple messages with Dan Hobbs and no call was returned. I called the main office and the receptionist tried to contact him, no response. She left a message and an email stating I just wanted prices for several homes. I am wanting to buy two (2) homes from them and cant seem to get anyone to call me back. I called again two days later and talked with another receptionist and she couldnt get a hold of him or anyone other consultants at that time, its 11:30 am. Does everyone take lunch at the same time! Dont bother with this place. Customer service is horrible!

We worked with Ken from Excel on our modular house and despite some large bumps in the road, all in all it was a really great experience (and it’s building a house - of course there will be bumps in the road!) I’ll caveat this whole thing by saying we acted as our own general contractors, which made the process a LOT more complicated since we were inexperienced - but Ken helped us every step of the way, for which we are very thankful.Ken was really helpful in explaining the process, arranging a factory tour, and all around being a great point of contact. Occasionally he was a bit slow to respond to emails/calls, but he’s a super busy guy so that’s going to happen. Almost all of the big issues that we encountered were all the factory’s fault (for example, the house design that we were given as approved, and what we built the foundation for, was slightly different than what was delivered and we had to call the foundation company back to make 2 minor adjustments to fit the LVLs). The factory also neglected to install a few things that they were supposed to, but Ken worked VERY hard to make everything right and in the end, he came through! We absolutely LOVE our house. All in all I would strongly recommend Ken/Express Modular…and just encourage future customers to double check what the factory has agreed to do :)
