I brought my used boat down to Marrero, which I didnt want to hassle with selling myself, and I left the Boat Yard about 90 minutes later with a check for more money than I honestly expected to be able to get selling the boat on my own. Ive done business with them years ago, and I can tell you since then they have really stepped up their game. The facility they have now is beautiful. Its really first class. Really nice folks. I dont think you can go wrong driving over to the West Bank and checking them out.

Will never recommend this dealership. We bought a 2015 Tahoe 500TF with 30 hours on it in February. We have spent $4,000 since then on getting new tires since the ones that came on the trailer were dry rotted and blew out on the interstate on the way out, the fuel sensor was clogged and the spark plugs were completely black, and 2 of the speakers were out. We’ve since been able to drive the boat for 2 hours and launched again and more engine problems. When we let the boat yard know what problems we were having they basically said too bad. Do not buy a boat from here unless you want to dump thousands in savings just on fixing what you got.

This place huge. I think they are a little understaffed. I had to wait over 30 minutes to be helped. Go in knowing this place is just like a Used Car Lot with Used Car Sales mentality. Its not saying its a bad thing...they are driven by making every $ they can off of you. So go in there with knowing what you want and what you want to spend. Let the buyer beware. Emailed place 3 different times and 2 different ways (twice buy their link related to a certain boat and once by using the contact us link) over past 2 weeks. So far absolutely nothing. My guess is because I am looking at a used boat under $10k so commission is worth them bothering. If this is any how they operate, good luck for commitment after the sale.

I drove from Houston to their location to look at a particular boat and took my boat to trade, I decided not to purchase it because of the size and the fact that I launch and retrieve the boat myself and I’m 65 years young . I dealt with Matt which he was outstanding to deal with, he sent me additional pics of the boat and answered all my questions. Tracy the owner came out and offered to buy my boat at a fair price. I also dealt with a lady by the name of Rose she too was very knowledgeable when it came to all the title paperwork. Great folks to deal with, transparent and honest !

Went to the boat yard looking for a bay boat, Tyler had helped purchasing a boat easy. All staff was friendly and very helpful. Made sure I got what I wanted with a good price.

Buyer beware! Purchased a boat that supposedly had 106 hours on the motor. Brought boat to have serviced and the mechanic put on the computer. Motor has 566 hours on it. If you plan on purchasing something I would most definitely have it check by a mechanic. Apparently the hour meter was changed out on the boat giving the false hours.

Had an issue with alarm on my Tahoe 500. Cabellas or Bass Pro were booked. Talked to Mike and he said to bring it in. He could probably get me out by weekend. Took it in Tuesday and he called on Friday with problem fixed. Mike kept his word and an excellent mechanic! I highly recommend him!

I couldnt be happier with the purchase of my new Sun Tracker party barge. Between Glenn in finance and Logan the Manager and my sales person they made this purchase one of the easiest large purchase Ive ever conducted. As a complete novice they eased all of my concerns about being a first time boat buyer.

I sold my boat and motor recently. Tracy, the owner, was very helpful, good to work with, and made a fair offer. This is a big operation. I may have done better price wise if I used their consignment program but I wanted to be done the same day. Rose, who handled the paperwork, was very capable with a fun, upbeat personality.

Drove all the way from phoenix Arizona to buy a used boat 2006 champion 198 they had on the lot, I asked the sales man matt many times about the condition of the boat and asked if it was lake ready. I was going to stop in Texas for a few days and do some fishing since I was already there. he assured me it would be turn key ready to go. when I arrived after a 22h hour drive I found the boat to be in horrible condition like it was left outside in the sun for the last 6 moths covered in dirt and sun faded. I asked them to run the engine for me, come to find out it had a bad engine, would not idle or take throttle, I went and bought my own compression tester to confirm low compression..{ 70- 80 psi }. 22 hour drive and 600 in fuel just to lied to and sent home. wish I could give negative stars

Bought a triple axle trailer and dealt with Tracy, the owner. Had a great experience from start to finish. Didnt have the right adapter for trailer lights as we were driving off and Tracy gave us the adaptor he had on his truck. What a stand up guy! Overall I am pleased with the hull and motor I purchased, though given the below, it was overpriced a little.. I wanted to buy from The Boat Yard after reading the reviews and how responsive the owner is when anyone has a complaint. Someone that responds to them the way he does shows a lot of pride in their business and products, I value that. Though overall pleased with the boat, I can say that they are not the best choice for an inexperienced boat buyer. My wife and I had very little time and relied on the experience of the staff to help guide us. It was on the date of purchase, after Glenn spent a week working on finance for us (Glenn is great and will work with you and for you), that we were told it was a consignment and that it had an engine issue they would fix at no cost.It took 2 weeks to fix the engine, with us receiving it the afternoon before we left for a week vacation we planned around the boat. It was then we found that the engine and hull were sound and the bilge worked (though not the auto bilge switch), but nothing else was functional (trailer lights, spare tire, horn, interior lights, livewell pump, trim tabs, only the fuel gauge kind of works, and stereo… none of it worked) The trolling motor required a remote that was missing and the bearings had water in them, batteries were shot and wouldn’t hold a charge, and the spare tire had a blowout with the hole conveniently on the bottom of the tire as it was mounted. And the boat was full of stains and grease from the repairs.My wife did call back about the problems on our way to vacation and they said the survey they had done didn’t show any of that and we were buying a 20 year old boat so there were going to be a few problems. I would guess they got taken on the survey and I would have rather they showed a little pride in the boat they sold us. They did suggest it was probably a loose wire, and in some cases it was. The trim tab wires were off and had a battery strapped over them and the vhf wires looked like they had been torn loose, most fuses were blown, and while I am running wires and later spending over 8 hours scrubbing most of the stains out, I had the opportunity to start killing the roaches in the boat.I don’t blame The Boat Yard for this, this is on me. I was too inexperienced, and had too little time to shop to purchase from them. I think that if you are buying a boat from them you can expect Glenn to work his tail off for you and the boats to be moderately priced. If you don’t have time to run the wires and test everything on the boat, realize they probably haven’t and they won’t have any heartache that your inexperience cost you a couple thousand by the time you can get it in the water. If your down payment clears they are good.Would I recommend them to friends… If the friends had experience in the type of boat they were buying and the time to spend there looking over everything like I should have done, yes. I think they would have a lot of respect for the experienced boat buyer and take measures to let them know everything up front. If they are new to boat buying, then no. I would tell them to shop elsewhere or expect to be taken advantage of for their lack of knowledge (I would also advise them there is an Academy right down from there to buy things like tail lights, spare tire, grease for the bearings, and a pin for the hitch before the drive back, I didn’t have any of those things on the boat and they all seem to be important.The worst part is, I would have still bought the boat I bought even if they had pointed all the problems out. Though I would have expected the tail lights to be fixed before I left and a little to come off the price for what all I had to put into it.

They got the boat into a huge tank and let us see it run and showed us the bells and whistles.Glen in financing was also great to work with. If you’re serious about a boat, they can work through financing Before you go to purchase the boat, making for a smooth transaction.It will be nice for the construction to be finished on their new building so it isn’t so jam packed with inventory in the yard.

Honestly, I was skeptical because of early reviews but these guys made everything as smooth as could be. I contacted Logan about the boat I saw on their website, he gave me the information I needed, I went up there a few days later (coming from over an hour away) and he made sure the boat was clean, checked and ready to roll. As I was pulling away with the boat, Logan noticed the trailer lights werent cooperating. He got down there himself and replaced it. I met the owner, Tracy. Real nice guy, easy going and knowledgeable. They had a more boats than I imagined. They have a back down launch to put the motor under a load so you can really give it a good once over before you sign papers!! I was impressed, it was well worth the drive. If I ever sell this boat, Id probably let them sell it too and then buy another from them. If yall there at the Yard are reading this... THANKS AGAIN!

On November 2, 2018 I financed a boat through the Boatyard from a third party seller. The process was easy and quick. Fast forward to this weekend 2/17/19. I somehow lost all of my paperwork during a recent fishing trip. I emailed Jordan and Tyler late Sunday night. They both responded to the email and Tyler text me early on Monday. Tyler then forwarded my information to Rose who helped me with acquiring a copy of my trailer registration and she also walked me through the process of applying for a duplicate boat registration. Thank you to all that made what seemed impossible possible and easy.

I purchased a used bay boat and was told seconds before signing paper work that the trailer had not title. I did not want to puchase without a title for the trailer. Sales person stated they would put a tile from another trailer on the boat and trailer I was purchasing. We do it all the time. A few weeks later a friend of mine told me that was illegal. Contacted state police who and inspected trailer and stated it was not legal. I spoke with owner who agreed to get me a trailer with a legit title. Picked up boat and trailer today and had to stop on the home way because boat was moving on trailer. Trailer bunk boards was folding over. Two bunk boards had bolts with no nuts and was falling out and all the other bolts were not even hand tight. Rollers were frozen. Very bad experience. I thought they would make it right but now I have dangerous trailer!! Would not trust this company
