Its always a great experience with Clay. He gives you the facts straight and simple, and tries to save you as much money as possible. He has found issues that no other mechanic has come close to finding. I really hope he stays a while because once his generation stops, well be left with the new corporate, generic overpriced mechanic stops that dont know much of anything.

I thought I needed both front wheel bearings replaced, so I asked for a quote. Mr. Clay quoted me the price and I said good. I took in my car and it turns out that only one bearing needed replacing. I paid less than I thought I would have to pay. Honest business, I refer all my friends to Mr Clay.

Don Clays Clays Automotive is the best auto mechanic in all of Cobb and perhaps in the state. He does a great job with our vehicles and goes out of his way to help us when issues arise on short notice. He does it with a super pleasant attitude.Ive been around a while and hes what I would call a throwback mechanic when you knew everyone by name and it felt more like friends and family then business and customers. Dont let the shops appearance fool you. I highly recommend Don to anyone out there looking for a mechanic who not only does a great job but is completely honest and trustworthy.

I love going to Clay Auto. Ive been taking my cars to Don Clay for 12 years now. Usually, they get things right, and when they dont, they make it right. I have actually had him quote me for work to be done and then charge me less when I went to pick up the repaired vehicle! He does not overcharge, and has overnight drop off. Make sure you call in advance and schedule a good day to have your work done!

Trustworthy and dependable. During an oil change a quicklube place told me a had a torn CV boot and it should be replaced for $350. I took the car to Clay and Don told me, it is not leaking grease, lets not do anything and just watch it, no charge. We watched it for the life of the car.

Don is the most honest and trustworthy mechanic I know. Ive been taking my cars and family members cars to him for probably around a decade now. Hes handled repairs incredibly on anything weve brought to him, from 80s german imports to new domestic cars to subaru SUVs. Hes always been up-front with us about what needs to be done and what repairs are recommended but not essential.Most importantly though, he has always been hundreds of dollars cheaper than the dealership and chain shops like NTB, Kauffman, PepBoys, etc. I absolutely would not have made it through college without being able to take my car to him for such affordable repairs. And it has been such a huge help to our family to have such an affordable and expert option for repairs.I think the one downside is that its not a same-day type of shop. You have to leave your car and expect to not have it back for about a week or so. But a few days of bumming rides from friends or working from home is nothing compared to the level of service and savings you get in return! If youre that desperate for a quick turn around, you can just go to a chain, but dont expect the Clay Auto experience.
