I havent been to a Penneys in a while. The store was clean, pretty well-stocked. But their checkouts are not very well marked. Only one fitting room is open also. Other than that theres no real issue.

I have a few problems everytime I go here. First one is that the building is metal, so you have to screenshot and get your coupons ready before you go inside. The app wont open in store either, because wifi disconnects you. No reception as well. The cashiers dont move with a sense of urgency and they take their sweet time ringing up customers and having multiple conversations. I usually wait 15 min in line, oh and thats the queue for 2nd in Line.

Customer service always been helpful, they take there job serious.

Went to the local JCPenneys to avoid the mall one. Usually this store has a decent selection of shoes, clothes, and accessories. This time the mens shoe section was barren save for a few boxes of randomly sized shoes. The womens was stocked but only with sandals, we were looking for shoes for my daughter and I. Looked around the store a few times for a belt for my daughter no luck there either.

JCP is one of my preferred sources for clothing as we travel through the country in our rv. The stores I have visited are always clean and well stocked. Employees are always pleasant to work with and generally knowledgeable and helpful. Fitting rooms are clean and comfortable. I had to attend a family funeral on fairly short notice but didnt have dress clothes with me on this trip. JCP bailed me out. Thanks to them I can attend and not look like I just came from a primitive camp site.

Awesome service from all cashiers. Clean store and restrooms. Early Black Friday sales throughout the week...helped maintain low crowds on actual day of Black Friday. Fantastic prices. Excellent savings for my Christmas gift shopping.

Definitely Need More cashiers on other stations, other than 2 cashiers on one side of the store!

I havent been to a jc penny in years but not much has changed. I was looking for some shirts but they didnt have much selection. Cashiers are scarce. Who knows how long it will be, if ever, before I return to a jc penny.

Not a fan of Penneys, it was a ghost town. Clean facility however.

With the Tracy JCP closing, I now go to either Manteca or Stockton. I have had good experiences at both. They are well stocked, check out has been pleasant and the prices are good.

Love this Pennys for all my hair products, just picked up a bunch of hair products for buy 2 get 1 free saved over $70. My stylist is also there she is the best!! Her name is Satin in case you need a new hairdresser!!! 😉

This JCPenney location is always very clean and the associates are usually very helpful. I am giving 3 stars because they moved their returns from right inside the entrance door to all the way across the store so if you bring something back to exchange, you now have to walk a country-mile just to get to the returns desk. JCP should realize that they assume more risk of shenanigans by having customers walk through their whole store with returns.

Went to the JC Penney Salon. The ladies there are all so nice. I go to Ali and she is so sweet. I recommend the salon for all your hair care needs.

I liked the choices and prices. Need more knowledgeable help. Dressing rooms too far away. Not easy for disabled.

Yesterday, my fiance and I visited our local Jcpenneys in Manteca to look for a suit and a ring for my fiance, because his ring was never manufactured that I had originally purchased due to Covid-19 shut downs and his he was unable to get his suit at the place we had ordered from as well. The selection was not very plus size friendly but thats alright, and I received just terrible customer service at the Jewelry counter. There were two ladies behind the counter that seemed annoyed by my presence when they would peak up and over at me. Another lady had walked up and they were quick to help her, but she had mention that I was there before her and finally one of the ladies was forced to help me out. Then she had no interest in what I was there for what so ever, I felt rushed and like I wasnt welcome. She had a screw you kind of attitude. All I would like to know is this, is it in the person that works behind the Jewelry counters job description to give customer service or to stand there and stare at you like your wasting their time? I am a nice person I treat others with kindness and respect. I dont usually write reviews but this seemed necessary.

Great service weve had at that store ever hy a employee named Emerald. We let the supervisor know and she had let her supervisor know over the radio and he said good job to emerald over the radio. And we got 50% off of $90 dress shoes. Thanks Emerald!

Not much selection.

They have very good sales. When checking out the cashiers will offer you the daily discount offers if you have not mentioned it. They also have an excellent jewelry dept with a good variety of items. Also located inside the store is Sephora make up dept.

Im rating high, however they really didnt have anything I needed or wanted. This store is a larger JCP so its selection of clothing is better. I wouldnt go out of my way to specifically come to the store. We pass it on the way to San Francisco. Have stopped a couple of times.

Manteca JC Penney is compact but very efficient.

Good selection of clothing and other items, on a side note: the whole collection of rewards info makes the getting out of the store a tedious process. I bought a nice sweater for my wife however.

The lady that checked us out was nice. BUT she said that she scanned the bar code, for the % off, and it went through, BUT it did not!!! Get on the ball JCP!!! Is this JCP going out of busines? Maybe they should if not! I have been in the JCP in Manteca 2 times and will not go back.... No 3 strikes with me.... You got 2 and now you are out!

Store wasnt too busy we found what were looking for after a little work and then we picked up a couple impulse items that were marked down for Christmas presents. The cashier was very pleasant. Least we found somebody which two weeks ago and Sears we couldnt find anybody. Keep the ball rolling.

I had a horrible experience with their jewelry department manager today. Last December 2018 I went out on a limb and decided to buy myself a wedding ring and the anniversary band to replace my original set that I had lost a few years prior (from a different jewelry store). To make a very long story short I had bought 4 rings all together but I went into the store to return 1.... ONE of the FOUR I had purchased valuing $250 but I was one week outside of the return date policy. I apologized for that and explained that I have a lot on plate these days and didnt notice the date. Again to make a long story short he refused to do my return and seemed very satisfied with himself that he wouldnt take my ring back. He smiled at me and told me it was not the stores fault that it was my fault. He belittled me in front of his workers and proceeded to talk about me after he thought I left. Just know that this is how you might be treated by their staff on a good or a bad day so just beware.Oh yes and their stores have very long wait times in line just to purchase a few items. Avoid this store if you can.

Breanna in Sephora was super helpful and knowledgeable about all of the products. I enjoyed my visit and will definitely return. She made me feel welcome and comfortable. I asked many questions and she had great answers. 😊

This particular JCP store is fairly clean, but their womens section is from one end of the store to other and they tend to fill their racks so full its hard to pull out a garment without taking 3 others with you. Also their dress section is always a disaster. Dresses are just haphazardly put on the rounders so you always have to price check to see if it is the one on sale.

Theres a reason this place is going bankrupt. Couldnt try anything on because the attendant was nowhere to be found. Had to wait almost 20 minutes in line just to check out. We had at least 12-13 people in line in the mens department and they only had two very slow cashiers.

Clean and have great prices. Checkout wasnt attentive to customer. No smile. Then kept looking around while checking out my purchase. Then I was still on the counter and already said next - Ill give it a 4 since I found what I needed and that made me happy so I just let that service go and next time Ill make her laugh so she will smile and focus.

Went for their sale on Christmas decor. The store only had white Santas in stock. When I asked to speak to the manager to ask about the black Santas, she just told me to order it online.

Came in penneys Hair salon for ahampoo cut and blow dry Jeanette went above and beyond for me got compliments as was waking out of the store and said absolutely love it Thank you Jeanette 🙂

I was looking for long flannel shirt. I didnt find much in the women plus sizes that I liked. The women attire didnt appeal to me.

I go to Eleena at the beauty salon. She does a great job on my hair. And very friendly!

Prices are better than other same type stores and quality far surpasses those same stores.

Not a very trendy selection of plus size clothes all seemed to be great for grandma but not the younger generation.

Went in for brow bar. TESS is the best I am always satisfied with the way my brows! So sad they are closing the brow bars at Jcpenney locations.

I got what I needed (plain black workout pants for a uniform and some jeans).. However, their sales and markdowns are more expensive than they are at the other two JCP locations I usually visit in Modesto and Sacramento at the malls. Quite pricey. Staff was friendly and the store was generally clean and organized.

I love this store. They always have many items to choose from and the employees are always so friendly and are there when you need anything or have any questions. Absolutely one of the best department stores in Manteca.

5 Stars for Customer service but 3 Stars as far as price. Trent helped my husband and I get our new refrigerator, washer and dryer. Also let us know about rebates and major discounts.

Somewhat pleased with the customer service. Clean store and well stocked. The clothing is not thrown all over the ground like other stores. Staff didnt have many answers but were couteaus .

Great for buy online pick up in store(but make sure u order by noon otherwise your order will be pushed to next day even if it says a later time online) please be advised that this store is a dead zone your phone WILL stop working once you get past the registers when u walk in- no matter what service you have.

I am not from around here, I made a visit from the UK. I brought a hoodie size XL and found all the other sizes on the rack 1x, 2x etc were marked at 20$ however the XL was 37$ when aproached the lady at the counter the response was the smaller sizes are more In price bigger clothing is less. Just a made up response as far as Im concerned as the bill came to 20$ after all that. I would say more training and work on customer service.

Oddly the nicest JCPenneys I have ever been to. The cool chick make up store had the funniest outfits for the workers, lets just say a not so flattering Harley Quinn. I laughed. A lot.
