I go to Academy first for my outdoor needs before going ANYWHERE else. Store was clean, staff was helpful, bathroom for men was clean. Good lighting and spacing of products so you can move about with a cart easily. They almost always have something on sale I want or need, lol. They dont carry Reebok DMX walking shoes any longer which was a bummer and only had 20G shotgun shells for ammo.

Nice shopping experience and being able to bring my pup is a huge plus.

Great sales if you look on the clearance racks. Ammo pretty well picked through. Some of the shoes are at great prices too. Nice clean store, friendly staff.

This location is a hidden gem. Academy has 2 major sales a year, spring and fall. Be sure to check out the clearance aisle. Great products for great prices! My one place to shop for kids and adult soccer shoes with WIDE selections.

All we can say is THANK YOU to Phillip the manager at Academy Mansfield!!! We drove in from Little Elm for my sons 14u State Championship and as we pulled into the ballpark we realize our player forgot his cleats!!! Yes! Ugh!!!We arrived at Academy around 7:30am...they do not open until 8am but Philip opened the doors for us and low & behold they had ONE pair in his size!!! Thank GOD!!! We got the cleats to our player just in time for him to start his 8am game!!!! 100% CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! If you are out this way stop in and show them your business...WELL DESERVED!!❤️⚾❤️⚾

Today July 4, 2021 @ around 6:00 pm .I didn’t know they will closed little bit early for Holiday . So I very chill and talking with the guy who work at Gun counter ( He tall, big and very nice ) . He is one of professional person at Gun counter of Academy and Outdoor I ever meet . Answer all my questions, ask how my day going, talking about me and him Gun enthusiasts, talking about holiday but never mention about store closing soon . Loved the size and vast assortment of sports items, shoes, and gear! The building was clean and well organized. The only thing lacking was the customer service we were there to pick out two sets of wrestling shoes and aside from pointing out the location we werent offered anymore help. All in all a great store with pretty much everything you may need.

All it took was one person for me to give this place 5 stars. Christina was amazing and everybody else that worked with us that day. My husband came in with a Winchester pump action because someone at a different location forgot to remove the security lock from the trigger. While he was there getting the lock off, he asked about some shells and we were given the wrong shells by another employee there and it caused our new gun to jam up when we went to go test it out. By the way, we are first time gun owners. We wanted to return or exchange the ammo so I called Academy back while my husband and a couple of men were helping my husband in-jam the gun and was informed about the no return policy on firearms and ammo. However, CHRISTINA (OR IS IT CHRISTINE) worked with us. She explained several times to me that there was a no return policy but still worked with me and understood that it wasn’t our fault after speaking to the man who gave us the wrong ammo. Like she really went back on the no return policy to help us out. On top of that, another fellow helped us pick the correct ammo for our gun and actually checked the specs before handing us the ammo and sending us on our way. The greeter was stupendous too. Somebody needs to give all them raise and not no damn pizza party because they held it down from beginning to end.

Prior to me coming into the store, my co-worker asked me to let her know if they have any ammo for the caliber of pistols that she owns.Outside of the store, they currently have a sign that has the available ammo. I took a picture of it and sent it to my co-worker. I came into this location on April 6th at approximately 6:15 pm to purchase some ammo.I purchased my ammo. As I am leaving out with my bag, I spot my co-worker walking across the parking lot. We spark a conversation, and I walk back into the store with her. The guy at the door asked me if I had a return/exchange. I politely told him no. Some tall guy comes behind me and asked me the same question as I’m walking with my co-worker. I sternly tell him no.As we are walking towards the ammo, they sent a guy over and asks if I were interested in an Academy credit card. Very subtle, guys (sarcasm). I tell him no as well. He stays there basically watching our every move and continues to talk to us. I begin to ignore him. My co-worker gets her ammo and we proceed to the checkout line.The tall guy pretends to help someone as he stands behind us watching our every move in the check out line. I may be wrong, but I don’t know of any thieves that stand in line and pay.FYI, I have no reason to steal. If I am unable to purchase something, I do not need it. I’m also in a store with a work uniform on and very visible name badge. If I did steal anything from your store and I was able to get away, why would I come back? Think, people!

Very nice store, much more space than other academy locations. I love that the shoe department isnt packed tight. Always find what I need, except ammo but they do post what they are getting in out front and what day.

My husband and I were there earlier today looking at handguns for myself and the three young men working in that department never acknowledged our presence or asked if we needed any help. As a matter of fact, they continued tossing a ball to one another as if they were in the park on their own personal time instead of company time, clearly disregarding us. Yes I reported them to the manager in charge but just in case she swept it under the rug, I will be contacting Academys corporate offices Monday morning. Our money spends just like everyone elses.

They need to have a better selection of ammunition.

Employees here are really cool and during Christmas shopping they had that long line moving quick. My wife and i really appreciate that. My one negative is the Cowboys jersey selection. Very limited. Dak, cooper, and Elliott only. Only blue jerseys. Not much youth selection. Kroger has a better selection and that just doesnt Seem right for a sporting goods store. Would love to see improvement there (I buy a lot of jerseys).

I ordered 2 bicycles on line for store pick up. I am absolutely amazed at the service that I received from this store. I walked to the register to return something I had purchased and told the young lady I had a store pick up also.She took my information and told me to pull up to the front door. By the time I could pull up to the door a coworker and herself were there to load the bikes. Very friendly and great customer service skills. I will do all of my shipping at this store.

Walked the whole store. Most of the outdoor store is out of stock which is okay I guess with maybe COVID problems. This could have been made better if any one single associate had greeted us. Even the greeter at the front just nodded his head. No service and crammed clothing racks, I dont know how you get a wheelchair in there.

Man, this place is huge!First time here and now my go-to place for anything to do with the outdoors.The hunting section was very impressive on selections as well as camping and boating sections.According to an employee the place opened around October 2018, yet, the store has a brand new feel to it. I like the way it is spaced out.Employees are nice,helpful; great place.Check em out!

Wow, its been years since I have been in a Academy Sports Store. Very clean and the staff were all very nice. If you stand in line you can even find ammo.

Nice place to get exercise equipment and sporting goods. The clothing sections are hard for people in wheelchairs to navigate.

Bought a 14.6 foot canoe and am very satisfied with it as is my whole family. We took it to Lloyd park and enjoyed some fishing. Got a badass rack for it feom walmart.

This place is always clean and the employees are really nice.

The staff was very helpful. However, their kids clothing and athletic shoes were very sparse. This was especially true for Adidas apparel and shoes. A staff member did help locate the nearest store that had what we needed. I appreciate her diligence & follow-thru..

I gave the Academy 2 stars. One star is just for the niche they fill for quality sporting goods at a fair price. The second star is the poor service I received using their curbside service 10 days prior to Xmas. It took nearly 30 mins to receive my 2 ordered items. Come to find out on Xmas day, the larger item (valued at $300) was not even the right item. Returned to store after the Xmas and spoke about poor service with a manager named Robert. He said this was a mistake and was completely insensitive to the issue. I dont think he understood a persons Xmas gift was ruined. I advised of the prior poor service and he seemed not to care. He kept repeating his employees made a mistake. Well, this mistake caused alot of aggravation on my side of the issue. He would not compensate me for my time or travels. For the record, I did send their corporate office an email addressing the curbside pickup issue. I received a canned reply that the issue would be looked into and if needed, contact would be made to discuss. I can advise as this writing, no contact has been made.

Other than ammo, theyve always got what I need.

They had a small supply of football cleats.They had one set of the UnderArmor colors that our son needs for school. They can wear green and white, black and white or black on black. The size was too big and they didnt have anymore.Prices seem good if they would have had what we needed.The store is convenient to where we and many residents live.The lady at the shopping carts was friendly enough to answer my questions as we were leaving.

Will never do business with again! Drove over 1 1/2 to pick up a $500 inflatable pool at the Mansfield TX academy, to get home and find a much smaller, totally different, used, scrapped up pool, missing most items. Was told we would have to drive the 3 hour round trip to return it.

I ordered online last night. Got email my order was ready for pick up. Went to store to pick up. Clerk told me they could not find it. The nice mgr said to go and pick out something else but this was my sons list for Christmas not my choosing.I looked but could only find one item in his size but not the color he asked for. I called my son at work and he said he would send me anew item since he liked the other color that was in his size. The online order now needed to be cancelled and I got the item he liked. They gave me a discount for the item I picked out for my son and they were very sincere about the mix-up. The reason for going to this store was they had both items in stock but were an hours drive. All in all it worked out. 😊

I placed an order for curbside in Midlothian. I got to mansfied said my order was ready. Very fast. Employees were very nice.

Theres a limited selection of shoes and outdoor boots and equipment. Not to mention their selection of guns and ammo is also very limited. You would figure that Mansfield location would have more selections. Not too pleased with this location. Only thing I like is that its conveniently located closer to me. Id rather drive 20 minutes more and take my money to the Arlington location.

Unlike Walmart every employee greeted me.

Door Greeter was very pleasant, and welcomed us to the store. Employee who checked us out was personable and nice. When we left, the Door Greeter invited us back, and asked us to have a nice day. Also Academy has a display stand offering complimentary bottles of water, which is wonderful on such a hot day in Texas. We are always very pleased with Mansfield, Tx Academy.
