First time here and the front staff help was super nice! Very knowledgeable about the meats and seasoning. There was so many choices of meat it was so hard to choose but I purchased a turkey leg, prime cut ribeye, breakfast sausage and NY strip. I’ll definitely be back today to get more NY strip because that was by far the best steak I’ve made on the grill.

If youre looking for good quality and locally sourced meats/poultry, this is the place to go. Tomahawk ribeyes, frozen turkey legs and breasts (perfect for the smoker), and many other cuts. They also have all the rubs/brines from Meat Church so you dont need to travel down to Waxahachie.

We always get the best cuts of meat for an unbelievable price. Just tell them what you want and their recommendations are spot on. We went in today dead set on sirloins or ribeyes; they said try our pre-seasoned NY Strip. Said its got our most popular rub on it. Holy cow it was delicious. Look how perfect it looks fresh off the charcoal grill. My family ate it so fast. It was so tender I literally tried cutting it with a fork and it was like butter. If you want a high quality, delicious steak dont go anywhere else

I came here looking for prime ribeye steaks, which they had. Staff was somewhat helpful, I asked how much it was per pound and he did not know nor did he find out. It ended up being a really good price, cheaper than the grocery stores which sell choice, not prime. I would definitely come back again and I highly suggest anyone to come here.

I heard about this place word of mouth through a family member. The space is limited inside however, it also is space well used.There is alot of meat variety and the vacuum package seals are great. I do recommend that if theres a specialty order requested that calling ahead of time is definitely the thing that is both courteous and most effective for great service at the time of pick up.If it is your first time stepping into a meat preparation Shoppe my recommendation is take someone with you and be prepared to pay to get quality that is fairly priced. This means that if you are trying to feed only yourself for a month or so, about 130.00 to 200.00. If you are trying to feed a family, be prepared to pay more on the first time or 2.As a single person, I never felt overwhelmed by either the selection or the portioning of how the meats were packaged or packaged together in the cooler. In short, never felt once that I would have food I would never use.Give this Shoppe your time... I recommend earlier in the morning but again, if theres a specialty order dates and times for best pick up may vary accordingly.

I love Texas Slab’s Original Beef Jerky. I was easily buying a 2 pounds every week. I’m giving a 2 star rating because in my last purchase I found a hair in one of the bags. The owner provided a refund for the bag. I will mostly like purchase again just a bit turned off currently.

I was looking for q butcher shop near me(I live in Irving), but I didnt see find any places that seemed legit, until I saw this one. I read the reviews and looked up how far it was; its 38 minutes away from where I live, but WELL WORTH THE DRIVE!They have the friendliest guys helping you, the place is extremely well stocked for how small it is, theyre nice and clean, they have a great range of variety cuts and meats. They have their own line of beef jerky with several flavors. Free tasting samples available so you can try them before you buy. They also carry a wide variety of spices and rubs with tasters available so you can find your favorite. Lots of local honey as well as many salsas and pickles. You are warmly greeted when walking in and they are patient and friendly, willing to help you with any questions you may have.Dont let the small space fool you, these folks have huge hearts!

I was one of Scotts first customers when he opened the shop and I lived across the street, and he was very passionate about his product and quality. His family is upholding his legacy and the jerky recipe is the best in the business. Scotts jerky was the perfect mix, not too hard and not too soft with the perfect seasoning. Lately the jerky has not been the quality Scott was always so proud of offering meat advise and jerky samples when you came through the door. Read all the reviews and made a drive to try out the jerky. I must say all the great reviews were correct. Bought 4 flavors and all are perfectly seasoned. The service was excellent he was very attentive and also explained all the other products sold in store. I will return for more.

They sell prime brisket for an incredibly competitive price that is miles better than anything they sell at the grocery store. Also very impressed with the wagayu steaks they sell whenever its in stock, but their prime cuts of steaks are also incredible. Hell even their choice cuts are really good. Jerky is good too, but I am yet to try their sausage or cheeses

Stumbled in here years ago, cant remember who, but seems I was referred. Best steak prices around for quality Prime Angus Ribeye. Good selection of cheeses, rubs, brisket, & ribs. One of the few places you can get quail for the grill. Fast friendly service. I wish these guys the best of luck continuing on in the family tradition.

Today was my second visit to Texas Slabs. I drive 25 miles to get there and Ill be a regular customer in the future. Angel provides great service, is happy to cut meat to order and offers suggestions when asked to. Our prior purchases were delicious cuts of meat and we gave been very happy with the product and the service.

We moved to the area recently and struggled finding great cuts of meat, until we found this place! My husband is a grill master and this is hands down the best meat we have ever had!!! Will only buy our meat from this locally family owned store as long as we live in the area. Side not the carne asada is the best I’ve ever had!!!

I purchased peppered jerky many times in the past and it was great, thick, fairly soft, and had cracked pepper on it. Now it is thinner, hard as f#$k, and they use little to no pepper at all and its fine pepper at that. Im so disappointed this is the last time I will ever purchase anything from them again....

My wife will not allow me to go without supervision. They have excellent service and products. This is the only place I go when I want to smoke or grill for special occasions. This epitomizes the adage, You get what you pay for. I have yet to find a negative.

Been going to this place for years. The drive from Dallas is worth it to hit this place. Found this while looking for some good jerky. The beef jerky is very good, and on the dry side (rather than the moister style generally at the grocery stores). Years ago before they updated the web page, I discovered they had a butcher shop in there as well! Great steaks cut to order as well as bacon, pork, cheese and anything else you could imagine from a butcher. Highly recommend. Be ready to squeeze into the tiny store!

Great service from the instant we opened the door. We were greated by a young lady and man, asked if we had any questions and was looking for anything specific. Great selection of meats and cheeses. The jerky is excellent and they have free samples. We ended up getting some wagyu steaks, beef fajita meat, cheese, summer sausage, hot links, jerky and a variety of seasonings we got to sample first. We were impressed and will definitely be returning.

Disappointed. It’s been 3 weeks and they have not had any bone in prime rib or anything of the tomahawks in stock. The prices of ribeyes have been the same for over a year now. Also there always out of briskets and coulotte. Not acceptable, When the gentlemen with the cowboy hat was around the coolers were always filled with a variety of sales not so anymore. Pepper was my favorite of the jerky selections but not anymore after it being hard as a rock and to many peppers in the bag. Willing to try a couple more times, But not for long if things remain the same. Don’t do reviews but all for helping a mom and pop shop

They also have some most excellent beef jerky that is made in house.You can get anything from wagyu steak to seasoned chorizo here, and the service is outstanding. I love Texas slabs. The quality of meats is excellent. They usually have a very wide variety of meat including wagyu. The owners children took over after his recent passing. I will always be a customer. You should also check out their beef jerky, and all of the seasonings they have.

We bought some jerky at a gas station and it was $24 so we were excited to try it. We opened the bag and it was sweet and spicy jerky. The jerky had no taste at all and it was stale tasting. I would never buy that again.

Went for the first time a couple weeks ago on a Monday morning, steaks and fajitas are the best by far. But one thing that stuck with me that didnt sit to good was the service. Omg this place is a real FIND!!I found them only because I had a business meeting in their same shopping center. Their sign in the small front window about the best beef jerky is true, BUT THEY ALSO HAVE FRESH CUT BEEF OF ALLLLL GRADES INCLUDING PRIME AND WAGYU BEEF! What??!!!!! I never knew what Wagyu Beef means but I bought some Wagyu sirloins yesterday and made on the grill last night. They were heavenly! So tender and tasty! I am going back TODAY for more! Lol

Ew. Something is definitely off about this place. We walked in to an employee playing a video game on a head set who just ignored us. The whole place smells like meat gone wrong. Stale jars line the shelves. Jerky is pumped full of preservatives. Theres other local places to get natural meat. Wont be back.

We go to this place regularly for the jerky and filet. They even sell filet seasoned in their Steakmaker rub. Sometimes they have Wagyu beef and other rarer meats like venison and bison. We live about an hour away, but come several times a year for great meat. Worth the drive!
