I’ve always owned cheap bicycles like mongooses and huffys. I finally purchased my first “real” bike and the quality difference is unreal. I never knew what I was missing. My new cannondale is incredibly solid and quiet in comparison. If I ride over a curb, there’s no squeaking or rattling sounds or feelings. The trigger style gear shifting is lightning fast and feels super precise and mechanical like a finally tuned machine. In fact the entire bike feels very precise and finally tuned. Now I get it! Stay away from Walmart junk and buy something of quality. You won’t regret it.

My sister and I had the best experience shopping for bikes here! Everyone was extremely nice, helpful and they were honestly looking to get you in the bike that was best fit for you! We had a lot of questions and they were able to answer every single one! They let us both go out on a long test drive together and my sister came back still undecided so they let us go out again! I have bought three bikes from Nicollet Bike and Ski Shop. They helped me buy my first bike as a brand-new rider two years ago and have continued to support me as I go deeper and deeper in to the cycling rabbit hole. The employees here have some serious experience, and use all of it to help you have a good time. Every time I come in I get greeted by name, which never happens at other stores, and keeps me coming back every time I have a question or need a tune up. Great work guys, keep it up.

Bought a pair of Atomic Punx 5 skis from Jon. They got them ready and set to hit the slopes the same day. I had been looking for skis and had not been intrigued by any before speaking with Jon yesterday. Jon answered all my questions and gave his perspective on what type of ski would be best. I have really enjoyed the skis the last couple of days and knew I made the right decision after the first few runs. I am convinced my wife needs to upgrade now as well. I bought a bike from here a few months ago and have been extremely happy with it! Since then, Ive been back there on a few occasions to get things I didnt have like a helmet(get one of these…) or to get another bike I had ready to ride. The community of people they have there is amazing. Always ready to help you and get you what you want/need. I would single out names, but its not necessary. You cant go wrong with any of them. I will be back for my next bike and anything else!

Excellent service! I bought my new bike in with some shifting issues and pedals to put on there and the technician had it sorted out in a few minutes. I was also given a little lesson on tire care. I thought Id be leaving it overnight, but I get to ride again in the morning. So satisfied!If you love cycling or would like to start loving cycling this is the shop to go to. They have great bikes, gear, and staff.

We had the pleasure to work with Justin, Rowan, and Joe. They were all so easy to get along with — very efficient and friendly! All the other staff too were very sociable! I went in looking for a certain price range on a bike. They didn’t push for me to spend more but instead, guided me on the right bike choice for my size and within my price range! They had a great selection to chose from. I bought a bike for myself and then the next day we bought a bike for my significant other. I didn’t feel rushed out the door but was invited to make sure we come back in a few months for some tweaks because they want to make sure everything is going well! I also love their dog, Millie. She is such a sweetheart! Will definitely keep doing business with them and recommend to others from my great experience with them! I have nothing but good comments about this place. Love this place! We went in a little over a week ago and I have been on my bike everyday since - no joke! They were great about being as accommodating as possible during this pandemic and made us feel very safe and comfortable in the store. We actually bought bikes for the whole family and Justin was amazing with each one of us - even gave my 9 year old some help on how to improve his take off when riding and helped him tremendously. Would definitely recommend going here. ❤️

Got my first “real” bike from them back when they were Nicollet South. Since then I have gone to them for a few tune-ups, repairs, and accessories. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. Whether you are a casual rider or bike hundreds of miles a week, they will help you find what you need and not just try to sell you something. There’s a small parking area in the back if off-street is full. I highly recommend them.

Stopped in for a few things before a ride. Spoke with Justin who was very knowledgeable. He was a great help as he explained different options for what I was looking for. Wish this shop was closer for my bike and ski needs. I’ll be back the next time I’m in town.

Brought a bike in that kept losing its chain. Justin explained everything that was causing this and together we determined a course of action to lessen its reoccurrence. Justin adjusted the rear wheel and reattached the chain, all in about 15 minutes. Great employee, great tips, and fast well done service. And the price was very reasonable too.

This is an amazing store with surprisingly good new bike prices and lots of bike accessories. The staff is nice and helpful and I feel they did a great job at making the place feel cozy. Might not want to go in though if your severely allergic to dogs.

They set up my bike this year highly professionally. Last year, they fixed my rear derailleur, which I could not have figured out. The derailleur hanger was found to be bent. I probably rode a couple of thousands miles after they aligned it. They definitely know what they are doing. Highly recommended.

This place is outstanding! I went in last week to ask one of the mechanics about tire options on a Specialized Sirrus that I purchased in 2014. The employee (I believe his name was Aaron) was super knowledgable and he helped me pick out new tires and fenders. He then installed everything while also helping another customer order a new bike. Oh he was also training a new employee... an awesome employee at a great shop. I got my first bike at Nicollet South when I was a kid and it will be the first place I stop when Im in the market for a new bike.

Went in with a budget and was talked into a bike that I had no business being on, if they would have asked a few more questions. Ended up spending way too much on a bike I rode a couple times and when I called about returning it, it was like too bad... that was last year.Update:Love the bike, im glad I was talked into a higher quality bike. I would have been disappointed in anything else at this point. I am officially eating my words right now!! Sorry to the staff, I was treated more than fairly. Highly recommend Nicollet Bike Shop for all your biking needs!! Lesson learned, dont be a tight a**!!

Ive been to Nicollet Bike Shop a few times. Everytime i find 10 minutes with one of thier expert staff can answer my questions far better than hours of internet research.

We stopped in for a used mens bike. We found one that was just right and though they wouldnt budge on the price they threw in a kick stand and it came with a year service included and they had also gone thru it.

My family decided it was time to buy three new bikes in order to get out of the house and enjoy the hundreds of miles of bike trails Mankato has to offer. So, we narrowed it down to two bike shops; Scheels and of course Nicollet Bike shop. At Scheels the employees as people were awesome. However, their prices were awful and there quality of service and knowledge of biking left my family and I unsatisfied and frustrated. So, we went to Nicollet bike shop and was immediately blown away by the quality of service, knowledge and affordable prices (i.e. discounts and trades) and within 45 minutes we had three new bikes that we absolutely love and Nicollet bike shop has three new customers for life. Thanks Nicollet for the bikes and the memories my family and I are making on the trail. Dont worry Scheels Ill still buy my guns from you :)
