Made my way to them through mutual friends. They replaced an axle and hub assembly that had been diagnosed previously. Other place I brought vehicle first only managed to change my oil after having my vehicle for 8 hours. These guys had the parts and work done with no appointment in less than 2 hours. Very pleased. I was at a loss with my transmission when tires plus was gonna charge me $1500 to replace a couple hoses. I got recommended this shop by a coworker, and I couldnt have been happier with the service. Extremely upfront and friendly, kept me updated every step of the process. And the price was MUCH better than any other shop in town. I will come here for all future repairs and would recommend to anyone who wants a quality mechanic, in or out of Mankato.

Rock street auto saved me once again. My car (2011 Chevy Malibu) broke down on me on highway 35 yesterday. Called Rock street up asking if could have my car towed to them and if they would even be able to look at it. He stated that he would make time in the morning to checkout my car. To have a place make time in their schedule that is already busy is everything. Never been to such a great car repair where they are so honest and trustworthy. Wouldn’t take my car anywhere else!

My son goes to school in Mankato and needed some work done on his car...this place was recommended by a family member who used to live there and now drives from over an hour away if she needs work done on her car and now I know why.They originally thought it was a wheel bearing but upon further inspection it turned out to be a ball joint which was a cheaper repair. Wally was very upfront about the whole thing when he could have charged us more. We had our brakes and rotars done as well and Im glad they use the better ceramic brake pads on their jobs for better quality.He also diagnosed a dash light that was on which I didnt even ask him to do and told me it was an unnecessary and expensive fix. He also noticed the tires needed to be rotated so he did for free as well.These guys went above and beyond, did great work for a phenomenal price, and were very responsive and professional. If I could give them 10 stars I would!

I love Rock Street. I’m a small woman who used to get taken advantage of in every auto shop I went to. I had to google things to make sure I wasn’t being scammed. At Rock Street, I can trust them every time. When I call, someone always answers, and they get me in as fast as they can. They fix what needs to be fixed, and they do it well. They don’t try to charge me for extra things that I don’t need, or tell me that I need unnecessary fixes, and I couldn’t pay enough for their honest service. But they keep their prices fair anyways. I never go anywhere else anymore!!

Everyone there was super nice and my tire was done within a day. Only thing is I’d say is it was a little more pricey just for a inner tube change.

I had my brakes, rotors, and calipers replaced after a while of misuse. They were very helpful and made sure I understood any problems that arised during repair.

I am a fool to try to trust this place. I had issues last year when they had my vehicle for over 30 days to fix my engine. Which in the end ran my bill up to almost double what I expected. I am not saying the issues with the engine were their fault but not communicating and taking their time was. I had new tires on the front installed which never got pumped up once they were on my car, they were left at 24 PSI, imagine my surprise. I talked with the owner who did apologize and I felt it was best to give them another try. So last week 9/3/20 I took imy vehicle in for an oil change, I was told that I needed more things done to it, new tires for the back and a tie rod. They had to order the tires, took until yesterday 9/9/20 for them to arrive, I wasnt happy as one of my tires was splitting. I took it in this morning at 8 and was told it would be 2 hours to get my car back. At 1:45 I called to see what was going on, I was told just getting an alignment started would be about 45 minutes. At 4 I went there, the person at the desk wasnt happy, neither was I. He spoke to me harshly telling me that the machine broke down. I explained that communicating is all he had to do. He walked into the garage slamming the door, I walked out upset. Within 30 minutes he called to say there was more problems with my car and it wasnt ok to drive it. I let him know that I was on my way to pick it up. The bill was 100.00 more than I quoted. I asked to speak to the owner, he wouldnt talk with me. All I ask is Good customer service and honesty. You will not get either at this shop. I am 100 percent for supporting our local businesses but please dont get pulled in here. Find someone else.

They are extremely honest and affordable at Rock St. Every job Ive ever brought has been done perfectly and quickly. Ive also brought by quick things like a stuck oil pan drain plug and after crawling around trying a few different things they got it off and told me no charge. Dont get ripped off by going to other places - come here!

This is a solid group of people with pretty good prices, they do high-quality work, but more than anything: they have a rock-solid willingness to make things right if mistakes happen.Disadvantages: I can rarely make a successful call. Busy line or no real answering service. I always have to show up in person. They also get swamped and can have long turn around times (seen it for others). I would knock them a star for that, but Ive just seen them do such superb work for myself, a friend, and a repeat customer (that I bump into lobby with often) over and over again. Ive seen them deliver well again and again.Further details:I like the little lobby theyve been making little improvements to. They recently added Wi-Fi for waiting customers which is nice.They are involved in at least one outside program occasionally for helping vulnerable members of the community. Its through another organization though and I dont know how that place works.Areas to improve: price quotes I wish were done more precisely and after an on-the-spot quick examination. They quoted me a price blind once when I said they should really check it out first and it became a minor inconvenience. Just being fully honest. I do adore these guys and their work and think they are surprisingly honest about everything and giving super affordable service.

Went in because my car wouldnt shift correctly. They told me it was the transmission and would be almost a $2000 fix which as a college student i cant afford. Then i bring the car to a friend who said it was because my transmission fluid was low, which is such a basic thing that any basic mechanic should know right away. They try to rip people off and dont know basic fluid mechanics.
