Unique options, but we didnt care much for them except for the Fruity Pebble one nor the coffee. The original glaze was really weird tasting. We threw it out. A lot of people, one worker wasnt enough. However, she was really friendly and pleasant and its a cute place.

OMG one of my home town favorites! This place has a huge selection of Tasty treats, the smell of sugary donuts wafts into your face the moment you open the door, it’s pretty much heaven! It’s an Old Timey donut shop with tile mosaic floors and an old drugstore counter converted to a donut display. They also rent bicycles. It’s definitely worth a visit. They have a unique donut selection and friendly counter service.

I love me a donut. I have read two reviews that said these Donuts arent unique or special. Did they walk into the wrong shop? Even if you dont like how they taste they are unique. Got to say though, the last two times I have been in here, I have had to walk out as the line was long and there was only one person working. Each new person to be waited on with buying a dozen donuts that their child had to scrutinize everything before they were packaged up.

This is the most amazing donut shop! Ive been to places like voodoo but nothing beats varsity. They have great flavors and unique donuts. My absolute favorite is the blueberry Otis, its like blueberry muffin batter that melts in your mouth. The staff is awesome and so is the location, you can play games, the piano or just talk donuts.

This is a fantastic local donut shop with a historic flair. I waited in line for a while and the line is a bit awkward because of the placement of the check-out on the side wall of the shop not far from the front door, but the pricing of the donuts, their excellent quality, and the friendliness of the staff are unmatched.

One of my favorite donut shops in the area! Obviously, the donuts are delicious. The downer is that they rotate variety, so they don’t always have my favorites. The vibe of the shop is fantastic. The shirts/merchandise is fun and the employees are friendly. Always a stop when I’m in the area!

Im a donut person. I try and get a donut from every new place I visit. I was passing through Manhattan and saw Varsity Donuts and was like awwww yis. Their selection to choose from was amazing. They have a donut there called the Honeymooner in a vanilla flavor that was so dang good Id drive all the way back from Virginia just to have again.

Nice location. Can see how it could get crowded quickly, so Id advise showing up as close to open as possible.Great atmosphere. The t-shirts, stickers, and patches are fun to look at and caught my wifes attention before the doughnuts did.As for the doughnuts, we tried each kind of cake donut to really decide which ones would be our favorites. We generally liked all the cake ones, with the chocolate frosted, blueberry, and funnel cake standing out as our initial favorites.The price was decent, but more expensive than Dillons or a gas station, but we feel that the quality was in-line with the price. They also sell a bakers dozen, so bonus donuts are always a plus.All in all we like Varsity donuts and will definitely go back.

A town favorite and for a reason. My mom remembers it from when she went to college, and in her words, its still just as amazing as when it began. The truck is a great place to hangout at night on the weekends and get fresh hot donuts. The line is usually very long, but goes through insanely fast. The staff is really friendly and fun. Fun place to get donuts. The donuts are more on the cute side. They taste like pretty much any other donut with the exception of having some flavors. The shop itself is very cute and they have a ton of tshirts. There is a ping pong table and games. Would be a fun place for kids. It is unique to this town. We got the thin mint, cannonball, the christmas tree and the malted one. All tasted pretty similar with only a few changes of flavor. I would go back for a fun sweet treat.

Even delicious the next day 🤗 many different flavors and styles to choose from even had sugar free (didnt try that one 😂) My family knows if we are in Manhattan we are stopping there no matter what time if day 😎

I hosted my little one’s birthday ‘play date’ here. The staff was friendly and patient with all the toddlers when serving and demonstrating the donut activities. The kids were able to play with donut dough, color on provides coloring pages, and they even got to dip and decorate their own donut! Everyone had a blast. The cost was more that reasonable, and I hardly had to do a thing!**Be sure to bring plenty of wet wipes-you’re going to need them!

Donuts Donuts and More. They make some good creations. Make sure to try the Maple Bacon Bar. The wildcat is good too. For Late night snack make sure you visit the food truck parked out back.

I know someone who works here and they said that some staff tested positive for coronavirus. I wasn’t going to leave a review until they posted on their socials that they were only closing for a few days to clean and let their staff get tested. They need to be honest with the public about this very serious health issue. I will not be returning.

This is a really nice place to go do with family or friends! Ive been here on a few occasions and each time I have really enjoyed the atmosphere. Theres a piano to play, lots of walls to chalk on whatever you wish to draw, and not to forget the very delicious donuts they serve which have a very large variety in flavor and texture and in color. when I went to your not a few months back the employees that served us were very hospitable and kept the conversation flowing well. If you want to place to chill with some friends in a lighthearted atmosphere or hope to do some studying then come to this place!

I ordered what I thought was an eclair and was severely disappointed to find that it had no cream in the middle. What kind of donut shop doesnt put cream in their eclairs? Maybe eclairs (or Long Johns, as I call them) are just a Midwest thing, but either way my breakfast wasnt as delicious as I wanted it to be.

I dont live in Manhattan, but every time Im in town I make an effort to stop by and grab some donuts. The Opals, especially blueberry, are amazing! The staff is always friendly and helpful, and this is a nice place to sit, eat your donut, drink some coffee, and play a game or socialize.

I wanted to get some donuts for my co-workers so I thought Varsity donuts was a good place to go.... One person in line when I walked in, they moved to the coffee machine so 3 workers and a customer could stare at a coffee machine grinding coffee. No one said hi or attempted to help me buy there donuts. So after a couple minutes I decide I would go to Hy-Vee and pick out some of their creative donuts.

Varsity Donuts is a MHK institution. In its relatively short time in existence, it has become an indispensable part of the local culture. Tasty variety, frequent seasonal additions, vintage vibe with a kickass trailer out back for after hours. Git u sum

Ever since Varsity opened, Id known that I wanted to have their donuts at my wedding. We no longer live in Manhattan, but any time we visit we have to go there. We did have their donuts at our wedding in April, and they didnt disappoint whatsoever. Communication was fantastic, delivery was so easy, and of course the donuts were a huge hit. Loooooove Varsity so much!

Staff is friendly and the donuts are very good at a reasonable price. While I miss the lunch menu that was there for a time, the extended Varsity Truck hours mostly make up for it. There is a cool retro vibe to the place, and light fixtures that look like they were made from bicycle wheels. Definitely recommend!

Ive never been to a donut shop I thought was beautiful until this one. The floor is a huge mosaic! The donuts are also fabulous. We just ordered the least expensive ones and they were mouth watering, finger licking good! They also believe in the bakers dozen. Always a plus.

Can be a little higher priced than some donuts but they have a really good product. The shop was spared from a fire that burned down the bookstore to the south. Great to see a local Manhattan business do well. Try the food truck out back late in the evening!
