Great place to get some fried seafood delicacies! I had the clam belly plate and was happy as a clam with my food! Pun intended of course 😁 We also had some ice cream for dessert which was also very god, chocolate with peanut butter swirl! It seems a bit pricey but the food and staff all make it worth the price so stop in and get some food food.

Great old school diner. Kind of places that you walk in and feel like you need a burger and a shake. Good food fair prices. Will definitely be a returning customer.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 4 pm for a late lunch/super early dinner. To my surprise, the parking lot was very full. I think a lot of people were there to get ice cream at that time. Ordered a plate of clam bellies from the counter outside. It took about thirty minutes for the order to be ready.Indoor dining was open, but there were probably like ten tables. No outdoor seating is available. I waited around in the super hot parking lot for the food to be ready. After grabbing my food, I drove down to massabesic lake (2 min away) to enjoy my food. I did notice that my food didnt feel piping hot when I got it.The meal came with my clam bellies fries, Cole slaw and tartar sauce. These were some of the largest clam bellies Ive had so far!! Fries were crispy, the cole slaw was a strangely watery.Overall, good value for the price you pay. Maybe I just got a cold batch, but I did wish that my food was hotter when I got it. Worth a stop in Manchester if you have some time to wait for your food and if youre craving fried clam bellies.

This was my first visit. I had the haddock and fries. Haddock was very good, the fries were a bit over deep fried. The tarter sauce was made with too much mayonnaise. The Goldenrod does seem to be a local favorite. There was a constant line of customers. Thats a good sign. Their ice cream was delicious.

Chicken tenders are delicious they do a nice job with their special dipping sauce. For a smaller place they have a nice menu with good variety of hot food menu items from burgers, dogs and seafood. The ice cream is great and the portions are huge. They have a nice selection of flavors. I wish they would have allowed 2 flavor options in a small serving with that many options it’s hard to just pick one. They are very strict on that rule.

Great food and ice cream for sure! My honey had their cheeseburger and I had their spaghetti with sauce and garlic bread. Then we got a vanilla and a chocolate shake. Best ones around, hands down for me! Excellent on both counts. Definitely will be back!

I lived in the area for several years and never went there. It was always busy. We were back in the area visiting family who recommended we go with them to eat. We all had different types of food from chicken, burgers, and different seafood. Everything was prepared fresh and excellent. Will definitely go back.

Just bought a house around the corner from this place so I decided to give it a try. This place is incredible! Fast service, great prices, great people, and most importantly amazing food! I recommend the buffalo tenders. I will be going to this place at least once a week for years to come!

This is a good little diner, convenient to access. Not just a diner, but a walk up Ice Cream bar as well. There is some dining in, but as you will see, most people like eating outside. It is popular, gets busy, and the staff do a great job keeping up. For gluten free people, you can order a burger with sides and no bun, its nice until they go gluten free. There are some delicious frozen yogurt and ice cream combinations. Enjoy your food and refreshments.

You can never go wrong with the chicken tenders, it’s the same chicken they use at the Puritan but fried to perfection. The fries aren’t half bad either and they don’t try to skimp you on the ketchup and duck sauce.

The only real flaw with Goldenrod is their popularity. There can be a serious wait at times in the busy nights. The food is worth it. They arent too greasy and keep the seafood fresh.

The fish needs to be cooked just 2-3 more min. Fish was to wet.this is what I got the last two times I went. Clams are great. In the past this summer Fish was also great. Hope this is a teaching tool.

I get one box of full belly clams every summer.Last couple of years goldenrod $25 boxs were small & bellys were little. I skipped last year because of that.This year is the best ever. Same little box in a bigger bag and packed with big bellies!

Burgers and hot dogs arent worth it, but your not coming here for that anyway. Seafood is pretty good if not a little on the oily side. Sort of inconsistent. Ice cream is pretty great though! Large portions and a good choice of flavors.

Kids loved the hamburgers & spaghetti. The lobster roll was nice (I’ve only had them hot, so the cold one was a pleasant, refreshing surprise). The half and half plate was tasty with chicken and scallops. The 50’s diner feel is spot on; not too kitschy like others 50’s-themed places. Seems like a pretty regularly frequented locals joint. Kind service, tasty food and felt like the small town Northeast place we were looking for. But the ultimate was the KIDS PORTION of ice cream!!! HUGE!

Food was okay but the ice cream was top notch. Peanut Butter Fudge was the way to go.

The menu boards inside and out dont have descriptions for stuff so its kind of hard to figure out what the specials are. This is also the only place that I have ever ordered a milkshake and had it not include ice cream apperently thats a frappe.Chicken fingers tasted sweet like they had been fried with some of the sea food.Not bad, but Im not coming back to this clown show.

Im going to say what needs to be said: Goldenrods chicken tenders are better than the Puritan Back Room and less expensive. Totally underrated!Other food here is perfectly good for the price and their ice cream selection and quality is good. Great local landmark and deserving of its reputation.

Long wait for food and no menu board for plates or seafood. Seafood plate was very good though albeit the most Ive ever paid at $30.00! Ice cream portions are big and reasonable $ tho. No outdoor seating or indoor dining at all.

The meals were phenomenal. It satisfied my family. The only downer was that we had to be towed because our starter went. The people were really friendly and courteous and they all seemed to enjoy their jobs. They gave us yummy food and we enjoyed it. If you are out and about, stop in and place an order ahead of time, just call in by phone. The main room was closed down.

Have to say best icecream with best prices to go with biggest sizes of multiple sizes from young age kids to teenage and adults for medium and large size.

Fish was good, but if I pay 72 dollars for four people to eat Id like metal silverware. It kinda gives off a Hampton beach vibe but it cant justify it (giving that it is 40 miles away). Fries were not very salty which is something I wish more restaurants would do.

I thought the batter lacked flavor but then again it was fried seafood. Also, not a huge fried food person but my wife said I had to try it so I did with her.

We got food to go; fish in the fish and chips was made perfectly, soft and flaky, small enough pieces to eat with fingers or a fork without needing a knife, seafood salad sub and lobster roll were meaty with buttered toasted rolls, and dont forget the ice cream both soft serve and scoop.

Always good eats and treats. Maybe the best, always busy. Add this to my top 10 visits.

Went here for a treat on Mothers Day! I have not had ice cream in about a year and our kids had never been here so it seemed like a win win! My husband ordered snickers, my son had brownie cookie dough. My daughter had mocha chip and I ordered m&m. My husband got his first and my son, then my daughter. By the time mine came out it was wrong. I looked at her and said I ordered m&m and she said oh sorry and proceeded to dump the mocha chip she scooped back into the tube and use the same cup to then put my m&m in. I do not like coffee anything and of course my m&m had a mocha flavor now, yuck. So that is why only 4 stars. I have never had any issues here before!!

Had a great dinner of fried clams and shrimp basket. Fries were cold but they replaced them right away! I would definitely go here again 😄 Service was good and everyone was friendly.

Fried clams were good, but not enough quantity for the ~$22 compared to other places. Asked for fries but got onion rings. They handed me the dinner in a bag vertically and I discovered soon after that the cole slaw little container was in the bottom and leaked everywhere. Overall, very good clams, but overpriced for what you get and they should give you the platter horizontally and explain whats in the bag. Tarter and lemon were in another box where the Cole slaw should have been.

Ice cream was great. Unfortunately fish sandwich I hand was soaked in grease, it actually dumped a small pool out when I first picked it up and batter was soggy on that side. I get that its fried food, but should not be that greasy.

I have been hearing from a lot of people about how good the fried seafood is. The food was just ok. We asked for a few things to be well done. Not only was it not well done, it was barely cooked. The best thing we had was the chicken fingers. Nothing special to make us want to come back.
